  1. 1. What do you think about how the draft went for us? Well, I'm here, so I have to think it went halfway decently, right? In all seriousness though, I'm exceptionally pumped about the future and am looking forward to seeing what we do. 2. Do your have any friends or ex team mates that are now on the team, if so, who? A surprising number, actually. Eller and A Red Guy made it three straight Yukon picks to start the draft for New York, and LeGrande and Gunnarsson were my teammates in Halifax. I don't think there's a situation I could be stepping into that's more comfortable. 3. How would you grade how well our GM did in the draft? I would give it an A. There's always more that can be done, but given the number of picks and the overall holes on the roster, I feel like the core moving forward is in a great place. 4. Do you feel we now have a team to build into the future? I do. I won't get it twisted, it's still going to be a few seasons until we're contending for titles. But I'm ready to grow and get there as a squad; being part of the rebuild is fun for me. 6. How do you feel about being drafted by this team? I feel good. I said a few times going into the draft that New York was on my list of potential landing spots, and once I saw that they had the second pick, it felt meant to be. 9. What are you expectations for this coming season? This season I think is still part of the rebuild. I would say 9th or 10th overall, but with a solid core to make substantial leaps up the standings next season.
  2. Thank you again for all your work with these! Has been fun to follow.
  3. As we come up on the VHL Draft this Sunday, a number of mock drafts have begun to pop up, all saying the same thing: Adrienne 1, Flowers 2. There was a point in time where arguments could be made concerning where players wanted to play and the potential for a winger to sneak up top, but given Adrienne's stated desires and the roster makeup of both Malmo and New York, those mocks would seemingly have a good chance of being correct. But for defenseman Lance Flowers, that begs the question: How would he fit on New York's current roster? We decided to break it down in two key ways. His Linemates: It's likely that Flowers would slot in alongside either last year's second round pick Guy LeGrande or fellow S68 draftee (and GM player) Keven Foreskin. Both of those players have one key thing in common: their main skill is sniping from the blue line. Foreskin's 22 goals for Minnesota in the VHLM show where his priorities lie, and although he's defense-first (with a Defense attribute of 85), on the offensive end he's all shooting. And despite LeGrande's 9 goals on the season, his splits are even more pronounced: his 90 scoring abilities is in the upper echelons of defensemen, while he hasn't added a single point to checking or strength. In that way, Flowers would be a perfect fit next to either one. He's not a scorer in the least, instead focusing on his passing and hitting abilities - he was in the top ten in the VHLM last season in both categories. Pairing Flowers with a scoring defenseman would allow for the best of both worlds from the blue line, and particularly give New York a facet on defense (and crucially, the penalty kill) that they were missing much of last season. His Age: It goes without saying that New York is a young team, and they're about to get even younger - they hold 4 of the first 9 and 6 of the first 16 picks in this upcoming draft. There's a good chance that New York isn't going to see the fruits of their work for another season or two, and for Flowers, that's perfectly fine. While many wingers can get good, quickly by excelling in a certain skill like scoring or checking, a player built like Flowers needs to be more well-rounded to show off their worth. And for him, that just means more time in the weight room. While being on a winner right away is always fun, it may not be what's best for Flowers' overall development. New York is likely building for success in S70 and 71, when their loads of S68 draftees will be ready for primetime while still being on relatively cheap contracts. And by that time, Flowers believes he'll be ready to truly take the league by storm.
  4. The S33 Draft was actually really solid in retrospect with a mix of recreates and new people who are either still around or at least stuck around for a while. Aside from me and Boubabi, think that was Molholt and Doomsday's first player, and even Collier was a GM for a while.
  5. I'm not, actually didn't pop up around the VHL until near S30, but still knew a lot of people since I'd been doing football sims since before the VHL existed. And yeah this guy's only my second defenseman, Karsten Olsen was solid but didn't win any awards or anything so I'll take the ding. Appreciate the write up!
  6. 1) Will you be wanting to get drafted by Yukon in S68,or is there any other team you want to be drafted to? Yes, I will want to be drafted by Yukon next season. The VHL is a racket, and the mandatory restriction on TPE is an infringement of my rights. They will be hearing from my lawyer shortly. 2) How many goals and assists did you have in season 67? I finished with 9 goals, 57 regular assists, and 3 "assists" in the postgame club for my teammates. 3) What VHL team do you want to be drafted to? or where have you already been drafted to inS67? I'll be happy whoever takes me, but it'd be nice to be on a team that both really needs a young defenseman, and that my agency has never played for. There are a few that fit the bill. 4) Do you play in any other hockey simulation league? I do not. I barely keep up with this one! 5) Name the 3 Most Original Named Players in the VHLM or VHL? Historically: CAL G, Sraxakhadlhadide (spelling slightly off), The Charm 6) Is there a certain GM in the league you want to play for this next season? Yes, it's Josh. Because again, fuck the VHL, VHLM for life.
  7. Good stuff, the self-interested person in me is interested what *spoiler* means for the VHL Draft too
  8. Verrrrry interesting. Will be fun to see what happens

  10. Yukon -- With the Rush's season over after an early playoff loss, defenseman Lance Flowers' next goal is getting ready for the VHL Draft. Currently, Flowers sits as the second-ranked VHLM prospect in terms of current skill, after Philadelphia defenseman Condor Adrienne. It's been expected that Adrienne would go first in the draft, but recently some of his public comments have thrown some doubt into the question. Speaking recently with reporters, Adrienne made it known that he prefers to go to one of the forthcoming expansion teams in the VHL Draft, even saying, "Rather not cause drama at the draft time lol, but afraid I don't have much choice." It remains to be seen what the final draft order will be, but speaking recently with reporters, Flowers made it clear that he has no such qualms. "Sure, I have preferences like anyone else, and I haven't exactly made them hidden," Flowers said. "But I'm down for whatever happens, no matter where I'm drafted, and I'll put in my work just as expected." Previously, Flowers has stated that he wouldn't mind playing for a team chasing its first title, which includes not only the expansions but Moscow and Malmo. But on top of that, he has also stated a desire to play on teams that his previous agency hasn't been on, which includes a New York franchise that will hold one of the top two picks. No matter what happens, Flowers is ready to have an idea of where he'll play in the VHL. "It's exciting," he said, "and as long as I'm part of a team where I can share in the vision, just the joy of being in the VHL and trying to win is enough for me."
  11. 1) Did you believe Yukon would make it at least past the 1st round in these current playoffs? Absolutely, and perhaps that's overconfidence on my part, but our play late in the season would indicate a run. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. 2) Who would be your pick for Top scorer on this years Yukon team? Frans Eller did a little bit of everything, but Plunkett really did surprise a bunch of folks with his play. Tied Eller in goals, had more assists, and was an all-around team player. 3) Who would you consider the Top defenseman on the current Yukon team? Stansson's 71 points were excellent, and he helped out on the goal scoring end more than me. Still though, I'm happy with my defensive effort and being top 10 in hits at the end of the season. 4) Are you happy with having played with the Rush this year? & why? Most definitely - even though the season didn't end the way we wanted, I had fun here, and I'm thankful for the hard work that the front office put in. 5) Who was your favorite Personality on the team this year? I tend to be a more low key guy myself, so I appreciate the people that are good at rallying the troops - that was definitely Eller in our locker room, and I appreciate everything he did for the team. 6) If given the chance what two players would you play with again? Especially by the end, I feel like me and Stansson had a good ying and yang on the defensive end, with him focusing more on scoring and me being more of the facilitator. Also, with how Eller was the team leader as mentioned before, I'd love to be on a team with him once again.
  12. Lance Flowers Defense Points: 66/7 = 9.43 Hits: 191/30 = 6.37 Total = 15.80 + 3 = 18.80 -> 19 TPE
  13. Lol I enjoy McAllister spending his whole career on the two most miserable teams, yet bringing both their best moments. The light in the darkness.
  14. How do you predict the series going against Halifax? I think that we will lose in 5 games to a lower seed, and it will be extremely disappointing in the end. What players from each team do you think will have the biggest rivalry in the series? I think the Yukon offense will have a rivalry with the opposite net, which will be solved when the opposite net consumes every position player one by one until they are nothing left but mere bones. A Red Guy vs Gunnarsson, who has the better performance? That's the thing: A Red Guy didn't play poorly! He gave up 11 goals in 5 games! A far cry from what we expected would be the weakness of the team at the start of the season. Prediction for the winners of first round and why? I think that all of the higher seeds are going to win, because there's no way a team like, say, Halifax will score an upset. Never. Who is your prediction for MVP of the playoffs? I mean, it's bound to change, but the fact that Virgil Ligriv is averaging less than half a goal per game and currently has a .972 save percentage is absolutely ludicrous. And given that Ottawa's big scorers are helping each other out, that's my pick. Any takeaways from the season before we hit the playoffs? Despite the playoff flame out, I'm happy to have been a part of this team, and thankful for the people I played with and for Josh for putting all of the hard work in. Onto the next one.
  15. Close. I'll still take keeping up with the top teams, could be a potential playoff preview.
