Do we know what the record is for most games in a row with a goal? Because I think this might be up there. As it stands right now, Seattle forward Gabriel McAllister has scored a goal in 9 straight games, vaulting up the MVP race by going from 17 goals to 27 goals in a very short stretch of time. It also helps that Seattle has gone 8-1 over that stretch, helping bring the Bears closer to the top two teams in the standings. Don't believe me? It does, though, for the longest point streaks, and McAllister's point streak currently sits at 15 games. At a brief glance, that's the longest such streak since Season 52 where offense went beserk, and both Pietro Maximoff and Joel Jarvi had point streaks that topped 20 games. Since that time, Sven Wolf's 13 games in Season 54 is the closest anyone has come. So will McAllister be able to keep up the goal streak? It isn't likely, given the schedule - the Bears are about to have two straight games against the league-leading Americans. Still, this accomplishment is one he's proud of, and it shows just how dominant McAllister can be if he puts it all together.

Seattle -- The start of his fifth season was a poor one for Bears forward Gabriel McAllister; after ten games, he was nowhere to be found in the top ten lists for either goals or assists, and the Bears languished between fourth and fifth place. Since then, though, both the Bears and McAllister himself have rounded into form, and as we approach the halfway mark of the season, McAllister is tied for first in the league in goals with 23 in 30 games. That begs the question: Could McAllister be in play for his first regular season MVP award? While McAllister has always been strong and even made the MVP ballot in Season 58, he's never been a serious candidate. With Bo Boeser's play so far this season, one could argue that really nobody else is a serious candidate. Still, with 23 goals (T-first), 46 points (third) and 117 hits (ninth), McAllister is certainly getting it done on both ends of the ice. And as McAllister himself would tell you, there's a lot of season left to go. "Just take a look at how far I've come in the past 10 games. Why can't I do that for the next 10? I see no reason," McAllister said. "I'm not chasing individual awards over the team, but with a title down, I must admit it would be nice to have some of the individual accolades as well. I just need to continue to put the work in to make sure I get it done."

I'll be the bucket of cold water - I've never really seen the point. At least with the World Cup it's something based in reality and a team that you can grow with, the Super Cup has just seemed to me like, "Oh, I guess I'm with these guys for 10 games, sure."

I've got a distinct strategy that doesn't prove me wrong too often. Maybe I'll write it up some day...

Seattle -- Last season, it seemed like everything was going wrong for the Seattle Bears - until it didn't. Entering the playoffs with a disappointing fourth seed, the Bears became the first team since the wild card game's VHL institution to go from the opening round all the way to a title. It was the culmination of a long rebuilding effort for the Bears, and it was the franchise's first title since S43 and second in 30 seasons. What is there to do for an encore? It seems that the strategy is to run it back, for the most part. The team's top offensive talents in Gretzky, Federov and McAllister are back, and so is top defenseman Johnsson. Some changes, though, were large - gone is co-Playoff MVP goalie Vernon von Axelberry, and in his place is the former netminder of the Riga Reign, Markus King. Perhaps bolstering Seattle's chances are some machinations around the league - Toronto and Riga moved to rebuild (though Riga ended up more reloading), while another competitor in Helsinki saw their best player in Franchise Cornerstone hit hard by depreciation. All of that means to Gabriel McAllister that the Bears could very well be the favorites for another title - though after last year, he knows not to presume anything. "It takes a good combination of skill and luck to win in this league, I now know from experience," McAllister said following the team's training camp. "Do I think we have the talent for another title? Absolutely. But we can't just expect everything to go our way - that's what got us the fourth seed last season. It's time to keep grinding, and if we work like I know we're capable of, I feel good about this season."
