8/2 - 8/8 - Early Season Woes Edition! Answer 6 questions to claim 2 TPE 1. 52 games left in the season so it's still early enough to go on a run. Do you think it can happen? 2. Jocke Jockesson is our only D so far this season. How are you helping on the defensive side of the ice? 3. Our offense is helping out by scoring a bunch so far this season with Gaudette and Ablar leading the charge. Who do you see stepping up to rally us going forward? 4. The Eastern Conference is tough this season. For context, we are sitting at 17 points which is tied for 3rd in the Western Conference. What are your thoughts on this competitive conference? 5. I appreciate the honesty. I'm not too fond of lists myself either, but it was a quick media spot when I was in a time crunch. I appreciate the feedback and will use it if I ever (probably not) return to these lists. Thank you so much. I give some credit to @Beketovfor the random media spot idea.

Review: Whoa. This is a unique graphic. I'll break down my positives and negatives. Positives: + I love the space theme. It just looks so vibrant and makes the player stand out. + The cutout is very clean. No mistakes seen. Negatives: - The player name is a bit too small. Maybe make it a little bit bigger to have it stand out more. - So this isn't really a negative but not having the logo replaced is weird. It is cut off so I can understand not wanting to take the time to replace it. Overall: An out of this world graphic that is a standout. I'm a big fan of this style and I hope you continue this. Great work! Score: 9/10!

Review: Wow this is an awesome graphic. I'll go through my positives and negatives Positives: + The logo replacement looks very realistic. No mistakes at all. + Player cutout is clean with no visible mistakes. + The background is very eye catching, especially the players closeup too. Negative: - The only negative I have is that the name is a bit too busy. Maybe having it a smidge more solid it would, in my opinion, look better. A very minor infraction though. Overall great work! Bonus point for using Lee as an Isles fan. Keep up the great work! Score: 9.75/10

Names are the most important part of the creation of your player. It's something that everyone will either remember or forget. You want to name yourself something unique or funny to stand out. Today I'm going to be talking about the top 5 weirdest / funniest names in the Season 79 - Season 77 drafts. I was going to do more but was running out of time to do this media spot so this will have to do for now. More incentive to do more of these lists down the road. If this works out, I'll continue this until Season 62 (the last draft in the VHL portal). Let's get started with Season 79, the most recent draft class. Season 79 - 59 players drafted 5. I Mine Crypto - This seems more like a statement rather than a name. Crypto is still in the VHLM with the Minnesota Storm but was drafted by the Calgary Wranglers 41st overall. He is currently having a better season compared to his rookie stat line. While a bit weird, definitely not the weirdest which is why he is only ranked #5. 4. Bill Nye - This seems like a gag name. Named after the famous scientist, Bill Nye the Science Guy. He is still in the VHLM with the Las Vegas Aces. Drafted by the HC Davos Dynamo, Nye is on pace to beat his rookie campaign numbers in the VHLM. I put him at #4 because science rules! 3. Orion D H Chiester IX - A goalie on the list! This is just an interesting name honestly. Drafted 13th in the VHL draft, Chiester resides in the VHLM still with the Saskatoon Wild where he shares the net with Leroy Johnson. I put this name at #3 mainly because of how long the name is. It definitely stands out. 2. Sunrise van de Schubbekuteveen - Holy moly is that a mouthful. It was hard not to give this the #1 weirdest / funniest name. Although drafted 14th overall in the VHL draft by the Chicago Phoenix, he is currently in the VHLM with the Mexico City Kings. He is currently doing very well point-wise and is looking for a cup with Mexico City this season. 1. Poopy Peepants - What can I say about this name? How do you convey that you hate someone without actually saying it? Give someone this name. Peepants recently graduated to the VHL after a less than stellar performance in the VHLM. Currently, Peepants is with the HC Davos Dynamo in their rookie campaign. Putting this name anywhere but #1 would be a crime. Season 78 - 65 players drafted 5. Julia Waffles - Not really much to go off of for this one. I mainly chose it for the last name Waffles. Currently, in the VHLM with the Ottawa Lynx, Waffles was taken 39th in the VHL draft by the Chicago Phoenix. 4. Milk Jugs - This one is interesting. A bit weird so I put him as #4 on this list. He graduated to the VHL this season but seems to have gone inactive, unfortunately. Even after being drafted 10th overall in the VHL draft by the Riga Reign. 3. Anime Protagonist - This one was a lock for this list. I put him at #3 because there are some weirder names out there. Currently residing in the VHLM with the Las Vegas Aces and was drafted 43rd in the VHL draft by the Helsinki Titans. 2. Ron Gorgonzola - A player named after cheese. Of course, he was going to be on this list. This is close to a peak weird name. Drafted 53rd by the Riga Reign, he is still in the VHLM with the Philadelphia Reapers. 1. Jyuunya Pureya Oneri Desu - Wow. That's all I have to say about this name. A real tongue twister for anyone to say. Definitely the weirdest name to come out of this draft class. Desu was drafted 56th in the VHL draft by the Riga Reign but is with the San Diego Marlins squad right now. Season 77 - 64 players drafted 4. That Dude - The Season 77 draft didn't have a lot to choose from for weird or funny names. So I only have 4 here. That Dude is a strange name for a player. Dude is playing for the London United after being drafted 10th overall in the VHL draft. Dude is on pace to have a career year in points. 3. TheCHEESE - Drafted 31st overall by the HC Davos Dynamo, TheCHEESE is an interesting choice for a name. Who knew that we would have 2 cheese-related names on this list. A lock for this list since it's just TheCHEESE as the name. 2. The Loch Ness Monster - Honestly, this is one of the cooler names in the drafts. I will say it's an odd choice for a player name though. Monster was drafted 17th by the New York Americans and has recently graduated to the VHL squad. 1. Lorgo Pompronkimishkonov - All I can say is wow. This is definitely a weird name. How would this fit on a jersey? He is currently a free agent even after being drafted 48th in the VHL draft. An easy #1 for this name though. If I had to rank the draft classes based on the names from this list, this is how I would order them: 1. Season 79 - A goldmine for weird names. Unmatched so far. 2. Season 78 - Not the greatest names ever, but a lot better than Season 77. 3. Season 77 - Surprisingly the most "normal" names from the bunch so far. It was tough finding these names. Season 79 is just on top for the weird/funny names. Poopy Peepants is just too weird and unique to have it place anywhere but 1st on any list. Maybe as I do more draft classes I will rank every class. That's a fun little twist on a media spot for everyone. I hope you enjoyed this cause I certainly did. Welcome to the Minnesota Storm Weekly Recap! We will be going over what is happening to the Storm and how they are doing in the VHLM each week. It's week 2 and the season is moving right along. 18 games have been played for the Storm with not-so-great results. News No new news to announce. All quiet this week. Waiver Additions No new waiver additions this week. Unfortunately, we couldn't entice anyone to join our squad. Overall Record We have completed 18 games so far this season. With a record of 7-9-2 for 16 points, we are last in our stacked conference. There is still time to fight back though, so don't count us out just yet. With the right puzzle pieces, we can make another run. Player of the week Caleb Gaudette - 18GP - 16 Goals (+11 goals)- 11 Assists (+5 assists) - 27 Points (+16 points) How could I not make Gaudette the player of the week again! He is an absolute point monster for us this season and continues to dominate for week 2. Runner up would be Logain Ablar right behind Gaudette with 24 points this season.
