Do you think he is going to be the a solid starter in the VHL in the future? 4. Dexter Vaughn is also doing incredible! Currently he is considered the #2 goalie in the VHLM. 9. Review: This is incredible. The player cutout is very clean and the style of having it all scratched up is very neat. My only negative is that background. What's with the flowers? I guess that's just a personal style choice. I think you could have centered "Jakub Brozik" too. Overall I think you still did an excellent job. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Good job! 7/10.
  10. Review: Wow! Great graphic with how well your team is doing so far. As the Minnesota AGM, it sucks to see our two losses on there (kidding). I like how you incorporated the NHL video game (assuming NHL21) for the player. The only downside I would personally say is the motion blur on the player. It just seems... off? I can't really describe it. It just doesn't seem natural. I do like the style of having the teams logos be black and white. Overall I would say you have done very well. It's a very clever graphic. Some minor changes that I stated and I could see this being perfect. Great job! 8/10.
  11. It seems Justin Lose has found his footing in the VHL. After the previous article posted which went over how poorly Riga has been doing in the early part of the season, Lose has finally reached a point per game pace. Since that article, in 11 games he has posted 8 goals and 8 assists for 16 points. He has also improved his +/- rating slightly with a -6. What sparked this production? In a shocking turn of events, Lose wasn't actually on the first line for the first few games. The Riga GM has stated that Lose was producing on the 2nd line during the lottery tournament and thought it would carry over to the new season. Now with a true first line chance, Lose isn't looking back. "It's nice to finally get that chance to prove myself to the world that I deserve to be here. Of course I've done okay in production the past few seasons, but this is where I'm going to shine. I won't let this opportunity slip away from me. I've already proven that I can be a point per game player. I've also worked on trying to stay out of the penalty box this season. I already took a penalty which sucks, but I feel like I've made up for it by having 2 powerplay goals already. I won't let this team down again." - Lose on his production so far Riga has also improved overall, going from 2 points in 7 games to 17 points in 18 games. They have jumped from being last in their conference to only being 1 point behind the Helsinki Titans and the Malmo Nighthawks who both have 18 points. Will this be the season that the Riga Reign move from playoff play-in hopeful to a deep run contender already? "Where we are in the standings isn't great, but we are surprising a lot of the top teams this season. We have proved to the rest of the league that we aren't messing around this season. Everything can change though. Hopefully we can finally be that dominate team that we were drafted to be." - Lose on the VHL standings Another key piece of the puzzle for the sudden surge is Calvin Harvey's retirement tour. He has solidified his stay as the starting goalie for the Riga Reign. He is currently 7-6-2 with a save % of .916 with a 2.9 goals against average. He even has a shutout! Harvey is on pace to have a better regular season compared to the previous two seasons. He already matched his career high of shutouts with 1. Of course the season is still young as I stated in the previous article. You never know what can happen in the VHL. This is an exciting time to be a Riga Reign fan now though. Will Riga string together some wins and get ahead in the playoff race early? Will Justin Lose finally have a great productive season? Tune in and get hyped for the Riga Reign gameday and find out!
  12. If you haven't seen the news recently, I was hired as the Assistant General Manager for the Minnesota Storm. This is a huge honor and I really appreciate all of the kind words when I was hired. To think a few months ago I was confused what to do and only had 6 capped TPE a week. Now I'm going to be helping the future of the VHL with Minnesota. To the players and the future players, I hope I can be the best AGM possible and help with any issues you have. It's nice to be in the VHLM again, although in a new position. It's going to be interesting being behind the bench instead of trying to help out the team on the ice. Hopefully we can win the cup in Riga and in Minnesota for a double whammy. I'm super excited to start and I hope I can chat with all of the potential VHL stars for the upcoming VHLM dispersal draft.
  13. The Minnesota Storm Wants You! Welcome to the VHL, @Perkele Saatana . My name is youloser1337 (you can just call me Justin), AGM of the Minnesota Storm. We're prepared to offer you a spot on our roster! We have an excellent locker room environment, as well as guides to help you build the player you want! We are a contender this season, so we can only offer you 4th line minutes. This could obviously change down the line. Quote this comment and say "Let's go Storm" to accept our contract offer!
  14. first Ayy Riga getting those big dubs!
  15. The theme for these games: \ Seriously, what are these shootouts lol
  16. 5/23-5/30 - NEW AGM EDITION! Answer 6 questions to claim 2 TPE 1. 15 games are under our belt. How do you feel the season is going so far? 2. We recently acquired @Anomalijs, who now leads the team with points currently. Do you think we stole him from Mississauga? 3. Our GM @PatrikLaine just hired some goon named @youloser1337 as the new AGM. What are your thoughts on the hire? 4. We currently have a 3 point lead over Philadelphia and only 6 points back of Halifax. Are we gonna catch Halifax and beat Philly in points this season? 5. The first round of the NHL is almost over. What do you think the most shocking thing was from round 1 so far? 6. What is your go to hobby?
  17. This is an awesome opportunity. I'd love to give it a shot!

  19. Well it seems Riga Reign are losing players in back to back seasons due to retirement. This one came at a surprise though. Calvin Harvey has announced that at the end of the season he will be retiring from the league. We obviously don't know everything going on with him, but we respect his privacy at this time. With the team losing Ray Sheilds last season, this is another blow to the veteran core of the team. This also creates a problem in net as the starting role is now up for grabs. Riga currently has Matthew A Sovick Jr as their backup currently, but in the prospect pool they have a few goalies who aren't ready to make the leap from the VHLM to the VHL. Morgan Karlsson is progressing nicely but if Sovick Jr takes over the starting role next season Karlsson will get the backup role. "Obviously it's tough losing another player to retirement. Harvey was the first player to welcome me when I got to Riga. He was a real locker room leader so when it was announced it was a shock to us all. Hopefully it's a mistake and he comes back, but I honestly don't think so. Right now we have to focus on the current season and get him one last run at the cup."
  20. Review: Wow. This is incredible. I love the font that you used. I also think it's perfect that you used Lundqvist for the player in the edit. I'm not that sold on the background though. I don't know exactly, but I think its just a bit too noisy and it cuts it on his face. Overall I think you do a stellar job with your edits. I honestly look forward to seeing what you create next. 9/10!
  21. Review: Amazing edit! I love the pop of colors in the image. The jersey logo replacement is outstanding and has no imperfections that I can tell. I thought it was a neat touch to include the team name below Deathwalker. I also like the style of blurring out the crowd. I don't see anything wrong with this. Amazing work as always. Keep it up! 10/10.
  22. It seems the early season slump is a running gag for Justin Lose. At this point with only 7 games played, he only has 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points. This is when he finally got his chance to have first line minutes as promised in his contract when he re-signed. He is also currently a -10 with a .39 points per 20 minutes. Something isn't clicking for Justin Lose on the top line. Line teammates Cabe McJake and Addison McLaren are doing a lot better in the scoring department. McJake leads the team in points with 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points with a -5 and .75 points per 20 minutes. If his teammates are scoring, why is Lose struggling? He leads the team in shots with 51 which hurts his shot% at 1.96% which is one of the lowest on the team. He is taking the shots, but is it quality shots? Quality over quantity is something the Riga coaches will have to teach Lose during the season. In those 7 games Riga has played, Riga has yet to win a single game. Their only 2 points came from the first two games which were shootout losses. "Early on in the season everyone is just getting used to each other. Our goalie rotation for the first few games is just testing the waters to see who we are going to run with. Obviously we haven't done Sovick Jr any favors when he starts. He deserves more credit for how much pressure it is to jump into the net when you just made it to the roster last season. We are hoping to steal some games while we find that starter." - Lose on early season woes "My performance is not okay. I'm doing my best to be on the ice and work some magic. Obviously that magic is hurting the team. I will definitely have to take a look at myself going forward. It's getting into my head during high pressure moments. That is something I need to work on in the future. I'm glad my line mates are doing well. I hope I can be that rock as we move on in the season and we can finally all click together and do some damage." - Lose on his early season performance With the season still young, the Riga squad is also looking for their starter. Calvin Harvey has been shaky the past 2 seasons and with his announcement that he is retiring at the end of the season was a complete shock to the team. Matthew A Sovick Jr has been manning the net for the first few games and has done respectable. With the threat of Harvey leaving at the end of the season, is this going to be the test for Sovick Jr to take over as the starter next season? A lot is going on at the start of the season and lots of storylines too. With 7 of the 72 games played anything can happen. Stay tune for Riga Gameday!
