Review: Oh man, you make some really nice graphics! The first thing and probably my favourite thing about this piece is the jersey. That logo swap on the jersey you chose to use looks amazing, the light blue jersey fits in so well with the rest of the graphic. I also really enjoy the clear see-through font, it looks really slick. Also the shining/glowing effect around the player render looks fantastic and adds a ton. Overall I wouldn't change a thing. This is great work, 10/10

Review: Oh yeah you knew I was getting TPE out of this bad bou. LMAO this is fucking GOLD! First off the actor you hired for Juice is 10/10 super cute uWu. The video was very humourous, and I enjoyed every second. The shoe on the head was a little odd, but hey, you're a go getter. The sheer amount of creampie that you took was most impressive and really added to the overall quality of the video. I wouldn't change a thing about this. Yukon gonna be back for blood next season #feeltherush 10/10

Toronto Legion Weekly Presser
fromtheinside replied to DollarAndADream's topic in Team Press Conferences
1. Seattle vs. Toronto is a rematch of S74; are you excited? Yes I was very excited to see my first action of VHL playoffs. 2. This series is also represented individually! Dawson faces his previous team, and former Legion Frank Funk Jr will be in town. Who do you think performs better between the two? Well Funk scored a huge GWG for his team so I guess Funk performed better. But we are still pumped to have Dawson on board with us in Toronto. 3. How do you feel about Toronto's 40-25-7 record to end the regular season? I think we exceeded our expectations. We almost finished first in the NA Conference. I was really proud of the guys for that feat. 4. Toronto started 15-15-6 after the first thirty six games... and finished the second leg of the season 25-10-1. From your perspective as a roster player: What change kick started a successful second half of S77? The offense started to pick it up and we were getting scoring from everywhere rather than just our defense, so that helped. 5. Are there any other storylines you're looking forward too during the post season? Doesn't have to be Seattle - Toronto related. Well I am answering this after we've been eliminated. I was interested to see how Tonn would do in his final season before retiring but London also bit the bullet. 6. Are you following the VHLM playoffs at all? Yes I just did a first round recap of the first round of the VHLM Playoffs. They are pretty close this season. Pretty good series in all. -
The first round of the VHLM Playoffs have finally wound down and we had some high-level drama in the late stages of the Quarter-Finals. The fact that no series ended in a sweep really is a testament to the current state of the league and how much parity there is between the teams. While some teams performed as expected, other teams certainly went above and beyond and showed they belong in the postseason. The top seed and perennial favourite Mississauga Hounds faced off against the eighth seed Houston Bulls in a true David versus Goliath type series. Meanwhile the top team in the West was the Saskatoon Wild, and they squared off against their conference rivals, the Las Vegas Aces. The third seeded Miami Marauders drew the sixth seeded up-and-coming San Diego Marlins team that seemed poised and eager to prove themselves. Finally the Minnesota Storm would clash with the Halifax 21st in an all-East matchup to round out the first round. Without further ado, let's dive into it and see how it all went down! (1) Mississauga Hounds vs (8) Houston Bulls MIS wins in 5 The reigning Prime Minister's Cup champs began their title hunt in a quarter-final matchup with the Houston Bulls. The series began in a raucous arena packed full of Hounds fans excited to see their team make another run at the Founder's Cup. Just a minute into the first game of the series the fans were sent into a frenzy as @jpach Johnny Pacheco would open the scoring. Before the period was over though the Bulls had answered with a tally of their own and the teams went into the first intermission tied. The rest of the game was a dogfight, back and forth the entire way. Many say this game was one of the most exciting of the series. Going into the third period the Hounds were down one, until the Bulls top line center @Senjo1706 Bradley Senjo potted a pair of goals to put the game out of reach and silence the crowd. When the buzzer sounded it was a 5-3 shocker that nobody saw coming. However, in the face of adversity the Hounds did not back down. In Game 2, they came out confident and made the necessary adjustments. @Spartakiller2 Guy Lambert opened the scoring halfway through the first and Hounds never looked back. They peppered Houston netminder @enigmatic Aike van Giersbergen with 48 shots in Game 2, and despite his best efforts, the Hounds came away with a very clean 4-2 win. With that the series would shift to Texas for two games south of the border. Despite the change in scenery, the results would remain the same as the story really started to become the Hounds' shut down defense. In Game 3 the Bulls were only able to muster 18 shots on goaltender @Lspinelli Luke Spinelli. Despite that, the game still was relatively close, but unfortunately for Houston fans the game ended by a score of 4-3 for the Hounds. In Game 4 things went from bad to worse as again, Houston was held to just 19 shots on goal. On top of that, Mississauga's lethal offense was beginning to click and they erupted for six goals. Leading the way were wingers @Pythonic Gaspar Yakrevsky and @Vat Gustislav Nasherov who tallied two goals apiece. With a stranglehold on the series, the scene shifted back to the GTA for Game 5. The theme of smothering defense continued in this contest where for the third consecutive game Houston was held to under 20 shots, and with their playoff lives on the line they only would come up with 16 shots on net. Just like in Game 3, Game 5 would end with Mississauga doubling up Houston 4-2 and thus elminating them in five games. Houston did well to make the playoffs, but it was known that it would take a Herculean effort to knock of the best team in the league. They will regroup and look to the offseason while Mississauga would enjoy a couple extra days rest and prepare for the semi-finals. (2) Saskatoon Wild vs (7) Las Vegas Aces LVA wins in 5 In a clash between two Western Conference rivals, the Sasky Bois drew the Las Vegas Aces first their first round opponents. The Wild enjoyed a very successful regular season campaign that saw them claim top spot in the West with an impressive 50 win season. Fans of the franchise were getting flashbacks of their Season 68 and 69 glory days when the team was at it's all time best. Sadly though, the fan's optimism was quickly snuffed out when this series got underway. The SaskTel Centre was rocking for Game 1 but just a minute and a half into the game, the Aces would open the scoring on a power play marker by @Giles Rigel Giles Sweeney. The American winger took cross-seam pass and blasted a one-timer top shelf from the half-boards to give Las Vegas the lead. Two minutes later rookie sensation @Seabass The Seabasstard would even things up. The scoring kept coming though as the Aces would add two more power play goals back-to-back. When the dust cleared, the Aces came out of the first period with a 3-2 lead. They sealed the deal in the second period with yet another power play marker, giving them 4 power play goals total in the game. It was a balanced attack with 5 different players scoring goals, and what was even more impressive was the fact they held the Wild to just 14 shots the entire game! Game 2 the Wild came out with much more purpose and determination. In a high-scoring affair, young guns @Zakary Delisle and @124715 Duncan Montana both buried two goals each as Saskatoon managed to pull out a 6-4 victory. The Wild were happy to at least salvage a split during their home games 1-1 before heading to the Sin City for the next two tilts. In series shifted to Vegas for a pair of games in the desert. Game 3 would go down as the best game in the series, and perhaps one of the most memorable games of the entire VHLM playoffs. Going into the third period, the Wild trailed 2-1. After trading goals, and less than five minutes to play in regulation, Duncan Montana buried a wrist shot under the glove of @Erik Morgan Karlsson and tied the game. In overtime though Karlsson redeemed himself as the Wild would pour 11 shots on net but none would get by the keeper. The first overtime would solve nothing, so we were off to a second extra frame. Less than halfway through the second overtime, defenseman @TXC Tanky would take a high-sticking minor. And in what is undoubtedly the key trend of this series, the Aces capitalized on their power play opportunity. The Aces maintained a relentless cycle and eventually d-man @Jakefufu hammered a seeing-eye slapshot from the point that the screened goaltender @BrutalBoost Andrew Bowman had no chance on. To me, Game 3 was the game that really decided the fate of this series. Losing in double overtime is a draining, demoralizing feeling and sometimes you can't bounce back from those kinds of games. Game 4 saw Vegas really assert their offensive will. Going into the playoffs, it was widely known that the Aces lacked some offensive punch. They went out and got one of the most prolific scorers our league has seen in recent memory by trading for @glass Kjell Nilsson. Game 4 saw that trade pay dividends as Nilsson connected on four scoring plays, posting a goal and three assists. Vegas scored two more goals on the man advantage this game, and with the 6-4 victory, they took a stranglehold on the series going back to Saskatoon. Back on Canadian soil, the Wild fed off their home crowd in Game 5, and for half the game they actually enjoyed the lead. But yet again, undisciplined penalties spelt their doom as Las Vegas would score all three of their tallies on the man advantage and take the game 3-2, thus eliminating the Wild from the playoffs. Saskatoon was a truculent and scrappy team to play against night in and night out, but perhaps in the end, that was what cost them the series as they had no answer for the blazing hot Aces power play. For the Wild management team it's back to the drawing board, while the Aces will look to double down in the Semi-Finals and keep their playoff dreams alive. (3) Miami Marauders vs (6) San Diego Marlins MIA wins in 7 Heading into the playoffs, the San Diego Marlins were the team nobody wanted to be matched up with in the first round. They ended the season red hot and they were finally enjoying some of the fruits of their labour as many of their young developing talent were starting to see results, and the top end players that were already developed were making a serious impact. While the Marauders were clicking at the right time and surging up the standings in the finals weeks of the season, the Marauders were in sort of a tough spot. They were basically locked in at number two in the Eastern Conference. They weren't going to overtake the Hounds for first, and they also had quite a cushion beneath them so they weren't likely to fall either. This is a dangerous place to be as it can be very easy to grow complacent when there is nothing to play for. The series opened in Miami for two games, the Marlins came flying out of the gates. In the opening frame of Game 1, center @KC15 Luc Tessier potted two quick goals and got the Marlins a 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission. Miami would tie it up in the second, and despite both teams getting solid chances, the third period remained scoreless so it was off to overtime. Late in the frame, blueliner @Sportsboy57 took an undisciplined double minor for slashing. On the man advantage, left winger @Lochlan Chisholm banged in a rebound in tight and won the game for the Marlins. Game 2 was a much different story as Miami came back much more focused and determined. The game started off as a back and forth affair. Tessier sniped his third goal of the series to open the scoring but @LilHCorny Trevor Wallace answered with his second to evaporate the San Diego lead. And that would be the last lead they had as Miami went on to score four more unanswered goals including a natural hat trick by journeyman center @Mashy Noah Mashford. The emphatic 5-1 victory helped regain morale for Miami as the series shifted to San Diego. After an off-day, the series shifted back to #MarlinsTerritory for Games 3 and 4. Unfortunately for the Marlins faithful, the Marauders had different plans as they promptly crashed the party with four unanswered goals in the first period, including two from @CptSquall Napoleon Dynamite. The capacity crowd was stunned as the skaters head off the ice after the first frame. However, despite digging themselves a massive hole, the Marlins never quit. After Russian forward @qripll Bogdan Trunov scored a pair to cut the deficit in half, Luc Tessier notched a power play marker with just under eight minutes to play. Unfortunately it was too little, too late for San Diego as they fell 4-3, but the attempted comeback certainly did lift spirits going into Game 4. In a game that saw more swings then your neighborhood playground, the Marlins came out swinging in Game 4 and took a high scoring affair by a score of 6-4. The hero in Game 4 for the Marlins had to be @Mistxh J Nicky Mariani who exploded for two goals and two assists. With the series split two games apiece, it was back to Miami for Game 5. The scene may have changed for Game 5, but the result did not as it was the Marauders coming out on the right side of a 6-4 win. Mashford got the ball rolling for Miami in the first period with goals six and seven of his playoffs. Carrying a 3-1 lead into the second, the Marauders never looked back. @MrShark Declan Wolf also added two goals of his own, including what would be the game winner and we would be remiss if we didn't mention Bonaparte finding his aforementioned teammates on most of these plays, as he earned himself a big four assist game. It was back to San Diego for a pivotal Game 6. With their backs up against the ropes, the Marlins came out swinging. One of the teams main leaders, @Eldredman Aldwin Craig, came out flying to start the game and incredibly scored two goals within the first two minutes of the game! The fans were in a full blown frenzy as some faith had been restored in Marlins Territory. San Diego added to their lead in the second with two more unanswered goals and from there on it was academic as they took the game by a score of 4-2. That set the stage for a winner-take-all Game 7 back in Miami. Game 7 was a back and forth affair, just as the whole series had been up to this point. The tension was palpable and this one went down to the wire. After the lead flip-flopped seven times, the game winner came in the dying minutes of the second period when none other than Noah Mashford buried his eigth goal of the series to put the Marauders up 4-3. The third period saw the Marlins pour it on with everything they had. They outshot Miami 15-8, alas it was not enough. Goaltender @ClapbombsRus stood his ground and with that, the Marlins were off to the semi-finals, albeit by the skin of their teeth. This series was an absolute thriller and the Marlins should hold their heads high. They have a bright future ahead of them and will surely be a force next season. (4) Minnesota Storm vs (5) Halifax 21st HFX wins in 6 Finally, we have the classic 4vs5 matchup, which is traditionally the hardest one to prognosticate. This one was no exception as both teams were evenly matched throughout the season and only one point separated them in the standings at the end of the season. While Minnesota opted to stand pat and develop the talent they drafted at the start of the season, Halifax was fairly aggressive on the trade market, making numerous deals throughout the season to help fortify their team for the postseason. The series kicked off in Minneapolis, but sadly the Storm stumbled out the gate early and lost their home ice advantage. Halifax would lay a 5-1 shellacking on Minnesota in Game 1. After a goal in the first, the 21st followed it up with an four goal barrage in the second to go up 5-0. Though the Storm got one back, it was not nearly enough. Leading the charge in Game 1 was @GlowyGoat Baldur Poulsen and @Jake Sumner The Great, both of whom had 3 point nights. It should be noted both these players were brought in from aforementioned trades that manager @rory made throughout the season. From first glance, it seemed as though they trades were paying off. Game 2 was a much closer affair, yet it was a similar result as the 21st would take a 2-0 stranglehold on the series. Poulsen maintained their hot hand and notched their third of the series as Halifax would win the game 3-2. Riding a wave of momentum, the Boat Gang headed back home looking to sweep the series in four games. The momentum train kept on chugging along in Game 3 as Halifax would win 4-3. Poulsen opened the scoring in the first with their fourth goal in three games. Minnesota did manage to Storm back with two goals of their own in the second to tie the game. With less than a minute left in the second period, defenseman @KingMortie Big Mortie blasted a one-timer from the point to score a power play marker. This would end up being the game winner. Though it was a 4-3 win, the 21st really did dominate this game from start to finish. They doubled the Storm in shots 40-20 and looked in control the whole way through. Game 4 Halifax had a chance to break out the brooms and win on home ice. This game was exciting all the way through. The Great would open the scoring for Halifax but the lead didn't last for long. Winger @Kyle01 Sean Ramirez would score two for the Storm in short succession, but Halifax simply would not go down. After clawing back, the 21st carried a 3-2 lead into the third frame. @tylerwest Tyler Steel padded their lead further with his second marker of the series to make it 4-2. Minnesota would get one back on the power play, cutting their deficit back down to one goal. With their backs up against the wall, winger @Gaudette Caleb Gaudette took a pass off the rush and tied the game with a hard wrister over the glove of Halifax netminder Johnathan Bustard. The period ended at a stalemate, so we went to overtime. Just seven minutes into OT, it was none other than Gaudette coming up clutch yet again. He burred his second of the game and sent the series back to Minnesota for Game 5. The Storm would live to fight another day. The series shifted back to Minnesota for a crucial game 5. This one was a low scoring affair all the way through. Credit to both goaltenders, especially Storm tender @Flames1Fan Dexter Vaughn who would make 39 saves on 40 shots to lead his team to a 2-1 overtime win. The teams traded goals in the second and the third period remained scoreless. Young rookie phenom @Patrik Tallinder Nils Tallinder scored his first career playoff goal 8 minutes and 26 seconds into OT. For the second straight game, Minnesota refused to die and pulled off overtime magic. It was back to Nova Scotia for Game 6. The magic finally ran out when things came back out East. In another low-scoring game, Halifax really tightened up their defensive game, only allowing 19 shots on goal all game. All the scoring came in the opening period. The game winner ended up on the stick of veteran winger @MikkoKoskinensMistress Kikko Moskinen when he slipped one five-hold on Dexter Vaughan. Down the stretch the 21st deployed the 2-1-2 neutral zone trap to perfection and the Storm were unable to respond. It's a tough loss for Minnesota but they did well to force the series to six games. Meanwhile the boys and girls in Halifax all went out for donairs after their big Game 6 victory at a local shop in Nova Scotia. What a fantastic first round we had this season! Even the 1 vs 8 matchup had a bit of intrigue to it, and the rest of the matchups were equally as fun to watch! With all the series decided, the semi-finals are as follows. The first semi-finals features an all-Canadian matchup with the powerhouse Mississauga Hounds taking on the Halfifax 21st. Meanwhile south of the border, the high scoring Las Vegas Aces will look to go all in on their playoff hopes when they face the Miami Marauders! If the first round was any indication, we are in for some great hockey down the stretch here in the VHLM. Until next time, thanks for reading and take care!

Great writeup Alex!

Review: I really like this graphic, the color scheme and the player render are both excellent. I really like the two different fonts you used and how you made the last name really stand out. Overall, this is probably simplistic by design, but I wouldn't have minded maybe your team name included since there's no logo in the image, but aside from that it's a really clean sig. Great work. 8/10

Review: This graphic is absolutely stunning. Everything goes together incredibly well and the colors are so vivid and bold. I really like the blue negative half of the graphic also as it really helps differentiate it from your Houston version. Overall, I have no critiques for this at all, its one of the best graphics I've seen since joining VHL, absolutely fantastic job. 10/10

Toronto Legion Weekly Presser
fromtheinside replied to DollarAndADream's topic in Team Press Conferences
1. Toronto currently sits In 1st in the NA conference. Did you honestly expect us to be here at this point in the season. No, and especially not after our long losing skid there a couple weeks ago. But it looks like we are heating up at the right time and that's what matters. 2. What was your thoughts on the deadline move the Legion made? I was definitely surprised... but at the same time I guess I shouldn't be. Rayz wasn't getting much playing time here, and he ended up back in his original home in Seattle so I'm sure he is happy there. I liked having him on the team, but I am also excited to bring in Phoenix Dawson. 3. If you could bring over one player from any roster, who and why? Either Addison McLaren or Dakota Lamb. McLaren is a friend I've made since joining the VHL, and he is super chill. Lamb is tight with Juice, and I think it would be a ton of fun uniting them. 4. What are you getting Hextall as a retirement present? A Continental Cup Trophy 5. Oh Sens currently leads the team with 76 points. Do you think he breaks his first 100 point season this year? He would really need to tear it up in this final stretch, I think realistically no, but that doesn't take away from his awesome performance this season. 6. End of season predictions for the NA conference? I looked ahead at our schedule to finish out the season, I think it's possible we could stcik as the 1 seed, but who knows. -
Probably the best media spot of the season, by a lot.

Brendan Telker to the Menace!?
fromtheinside replied to Telkster's topic in Archived Graphics/Videos
Review: This is a great concept for you theme week, and I think the graphic looks great. It has a very "official presentation" look to it with the way you put it together and with the VHL logo in the corner. The colors are solid, the font looks great and you even threw in a logo swap. My only criticism would be there's a fair amount of empty space in the bottom right hand side of the graphic. Aside from that I think you did a great job. 7.5/10 -
Review: I really like this graphic. The dark background really makes the rest of the graphic pop out more. Pretty bad ass render for your player, plus the way you did the font looks amazing. The font is definitely my favourite aspect, the colors and font choices are great. Overall this is really well done, nice work. 8.5/10

Toronto Legion Weekly Presser
fromtheinside replied to DollarAndADream's topic in Team Press Conferences
1. Toronto has scored 198 goals so far this season. This is good for third in the entire league... how do you feel about that? Who doesn't like a good offense. I'm a defenseman and my main job is to help prevent goals from happening, but it sure is nice to see our team stack em up! 2. Toronto currently sits sixth in goals against. How does this reflect our defensive efforts? Definitely it's a little worrisome. We have two amazing goalies on our team, so it's up to me and the rest of the guys to help them out more and keep the pucks outta the net. It's a team effort for sure. 3. Hextall is one win away from 200 career victories with the Toronto Legion (and his career). What team do you think we defeat for win #200? Probably today. We seem to be good for a split more often than not most days, so hopefully when the sims come in today it will be a milestone moment for Rookie! 4. How many more fights do you think Lester Green will participate in before the end of the season? As many as it takes. The other teams need to learn not to mess with Smarch. He has a kind and cool demeanor but he is a fucking pitbull on the ice and he will end you. 5. Who is the next player to get a game misconduct? Probably Boom or Nicky-boy. Those guy are scrappy, I wouldn't put it past them to do something to rile somebody up. 6. If you were stuck on an remote Island and could choose a member of the Legion to be stranded with you.. who would it be? There's a ton of great options, but you know I'd be lying if I didn't go with my boy Juice. Give us Spotify and we would be set. -
If you enjoy the VSN Power Rankings, be sure to check out other pieces done by our wonderful VSN Writing Staff below! Game 7 Stories | BoG Update: March 28 | The Talents Behind the Trophies | Around the VHL Welcome all to another installment of the VHLM Power Rankings! We are past the halfway point in our season and the trade deadline is just around the corner in under one week. The playoff picture is starting to become a bit clearer and it will be interesting to see if any teams decide to bolster their rosters heading into the postseason. While the Mississauga Hounds seem to be running away with first place this season, their is still lots of intriguing jockeying for position happening throughout the rest of the standings. It was also be interesting to see if the Houston Bulls can maintain their respectable record amidst a large scale public meltdown this past weekend when a player demanded a trade, followed by the subsequent stepping down of their AGM. This developing story will definitely be something to keep an eye on going forward. Will cooler heads prevail in Houston or was this just the first domino that leads to an entire collapse? Enough preamble, let's get into the meat and potatoes you all came for! Prev: 1 | Current: 1 To absolutely no one's surprise, the Hounds are back in the number one spot for the second consecutive time! Through just 48 games, the Hounds have a sterling 44-4-0 record and with 88 points, they already have a 15 point lead over the next best team. It's clear the Hounds are primed for a major run at the Founder's Cup this season. From top to bottom, they have a roster that can compete with anyone. A key contributor to their success has been free agent signing @inflastud Angel Wachiure. After four moderately successful seasons spent in Las Vegas, Wachiure signed with the Hounds right before the start of this season. Wachiure always had potential to be a stud in the VHLM, and while performing reasonably well, he never truly broke through with an elite season. This year however, he has already amassed 58 points through 48 contests, including 30 goals which is two shy of his career best. Clearly he has found some chemistry with his new linemates in Mississauga and if he can keep up this pace, he could earn himself some hardware at the end of the season. But of course, all of that is secondary to the Founder's Cup, which is the most coveted piece of hardware to capture. Wachiure is one of many players on the Hounds who make them lethal night in and night out. Prev: 2 | Current: 2 At number two for the second consecutive installment of the Power Rankings is none other than the Saskatoon Wild. While they certainly are quite back to their for of Seasons 68 and 69, the Wild are strong and poised to make a major push in the playoffs. They've maintained their threshold over the Western Conference with a dominating 35-12-3 record. Besides the Hounds, they are the only team to have surpassed the 200 goal plateau so far this year. A ton of credit has to be given to @Doomsday and @a_Ferk for having such a great eye for talent and also doing such a nice job with talent development. @HoneyBadger25 Griff Mackenzie was a 5th round pick (57th overall) from the S76 VHLM Dispersal Draft. Two seasons later he is on the verge of being a 200+ TPE player and is just 4 goals shy of hitting 100 in his career with the Wild. Then you have @124715 Duncan Montana, the 29th overall pick of this past Dispersal Draft. After falling to the third round, he has developed at a terrific rate and will probably also break the 200 TPE threshold by season's end. Both these players have 40 goals and are torching defenses all around the league. When you are averaging over four goals a game, your team always has a good shot to win night in and night out, so watch out for the #SaskyBois down the stretch! Prev: 4 | Current: 3 From first, to fourth, and now in third, the Miami Marauders have bounced around a bit in the Power Rankings this season, but I think this is right around where they'll be for the remainder of the year. It could be hard to stay motivated for Miami as realistically, they won't be moving up or down in the Eastern Conference standings. Barring a sudden collapse from Mississauga, they won't overtake the Hounds, and they also have built a nice lead over the rest of the teams below them. They have been red hot as of late. Since the last edition of the Power Rankings, they have put up a 17-3-1 record which is among the best in the league during that timespan. Much like the Hounds did with Wachiure, the Marauders re-signed free agent @Mashy Noah Mashford right before the start of this season. The VHLM journeyman had been on four different VHLM clubs throughout his career, but he undoubtedly found the most success last season when he played for the Marauders. Mashford made the decision to return to South Beach for another season and it sure has paid off for both parties. Just under the 250 TPE cap, Mashford has become a full developed player and is enjoying a monster season. He leads his team with 28 goals and currently has 54 points overall. With 23 games left in the campaign, he is just one goal shy of his career best. After this season he could be off to Riga to play for his VHL club, but until then he looks to push the Marauders back into playoff glory. Prev: 3 | Current: 4 After flip-flopping places with Miami, Las Vegas finds themselves in the four spot. The Aces are a consistently formidable opponent and have an above average roster this season, which is more than alot of clubs can claim. While I think they lack the high-end talent to compete with the likes of Mississauga or Saskatoon, I do think they could win a series or two in the playoffs. The catalyst for most of the offense for the Aces this season has been sophomore Canadian-born winger Darryl McDagg. After being nabbed by the Aces in the second round of the S76 VHLM Dispersal Draft, McDagg has finally started to settle in and find his game in his second year of service with the club. With 38 goals and 31 assists already, McDagg is on pace for a 101 point season. It would be a heck of an accomplishment to break the 100 point plateau. I think if the Aces were to find another winger or a high end center to play with McDagg, the sky would totally be the limit and it could probably make Vegas more of a contender. The Aces defense continues to provide offense, which is terrific, but I think some help up front is warranted. Will the Aces go all in for this season, or play it safe and keep some assets for next year too? Prev: 5 | Current: 5 I hesitatingly put Houston back into the fifth spot of the Power Rankings after a whirlwind of controversy surrounded the team this weekend after @RicoTheTrapGod Germano Henchoz came out and was vocally critical of his team. Citing a dead locker room and lack of communication from his peers, he demanded a trade. There's a lot to digest here, and the VHL community certainly was in an uproar over this one. It's never good to hear that a team LR is trending on the inactive side. Honoring the trade demands, the Bulls sent Henchoz to the Halifax 21st in exchange for defensemen @Wally Donne Taliferro and a fourth-round pick in the upcoming draft this offseason. Unfortunately for the Bulls, they only have one other defenseman on their roster, and eventually that is going to be problematic for them. While @Willy Myers has torn up the VHLM this season with 39 goals and 44 assists, he is less than a week away from going inactive, so hopefully Willy can get some work in this week to stay on the roster. It would be a major blow to Houston's playoff aspirations if they were to lose their leading scorer. Prev: 6 | Current: 6 The #BoatGang is back again holding down the number six spot, and they are slowly inching their way towards moving up higher in the future. While they've had middling results lately, I do think they are trending in the right direction, especially with the aforementioned acquisition of defenseman Germano Henchoz. Henchoz alongside blueliner @bluesfan55 Hadrian makes for one of the best 1-2 punches in the league on defense. Up front, highly skilled American winger @Tbeez99 Kyle Glass leads his team offensively with 26 goals and 32 assists for 58 points. Not only has he been putting up points, but he also has added 148 hits. Having a player with this kind of versatility definitely helps your team compete, and Glass will need to keep it up for Halifax to a threat in the playoffs. For Glass it will be his last chance to compete for the Founder's Cup, as he will be off to Moscow next season to begin his pro career. GM Rory has done a great job of taking control of this team and turning it around quickly, it should be interesting to see if he makes any more moves before the deadline on Monday. Prev: 7 | Current: 7 Every time I look at the Storm roster, as find myself wondering how they are only a team that's hovering around .500 on the season. They find themselves back in the seventh spot for the second time in a row after being touted as one of the top teams in the original Power Rankings for Season 77. It's mind boggling to me that they aren't finding more success, as they have high TPE players across the board. After the draft, it seemed to me like GM Rayzor had put his team in a good spot to compete this season. I know players like @stevo Ron World Peace III are hoping the team can get hot down the stretch in time for the playoffs. Peace III has been with the team since Season 75, back when the Storm was more like a light drizzle. In a forgettable down year, Peace III was a rookie and was one of the lone bright spots on the squad, putting up a respectable 54 points. The German defender has been with the team for three seasons now, and he has already matched his 18-goal mark from his rookie season. Not only is he providing offense for his club from the blueline, but he's also bringing the pain on a nightly basis. Through 49 games he has 160 hits and 111 PIMs. Minnesota is another team that could potentially add via trade heading into the deadline next week, so keep an eye out for them to perhaps make a move. Prev: 9 | Current: 8 Up one spot from our last installment, and coming in at the eight spot is the San Diego Marlins. The Marlins continue to show steady growth and over the course of the year they've become a formidable opponent to play against. If they playoffs started today they would be the seventh seed and face off against Saskatoon. The 5-7 seeds are only separated by four points, so there is still lots of room to move up or down. If they could get into the sixth seed or higher, I could definitely see this team pulling off an upset in the playoffs. There has been a ton of players developing at a great rate for San Diego. One player who is worth noting is @KC15 Luc Tessier. After taking Loch Ness Monster first overall in the Season 77 VHLM Dispersal Draft, the Marlins were back on the clock at pick 11, and they took the lanky French center with their second pick of the first round. There sure hasn't been any buyer's remorse, as Tessier has developed at a fantastic rate, already approaching the 200 TPE mark. Additionally, he has managed to put up 20 goals and 25 assists in his rookie season already! With Tessier, and many other players on the Marlins who work as hard as he does, the Marlins continue to be a team to keep your eye on going forward. Prev: 8 | Current: 9 Unsurprisingly, down one to the ninth spot is the Yukon Rush. This should come as no surprise as Yukon has made some trades focusing on their future, rather than competing this season. While they still have a couple of reliable high-end assets such as @Jake Sumner The Great, their young roster is starting to show its weaknesses and the standings are an indication of that. While the Rush don't seem destined to make a push for the playoffs this season, there are still some positives to draw from. Rookie @Alex_J32 Alex Johnston is quietly making a name for himself and surely will be a top target in the upcoming Dispersal Draft this summer. Meanwhile, winger @hockeyis66 Jaromir Lemieux and defenseman @JB123 Nathan Powers both look to be great draft picks and will undoubtedly be key pieces to the Rush going forward into Season 78. You can be sure that Yukon management will be working the phones heading into the trade deadline to try and sell off any rental players they can in order to prepare for their promising future. Prev: 10 | Current: 10 Coming back in at number 10 is the Philadelphia Reapers. After stumbling out of the gate this season, the Reapers have at least stabilized themselves somewhat. Much like Yukon, and the other teams in the bottom four, the Reapers will be focused on rebuilding their team for the future. It may be tough, as they don't have a ton of players returning to the fold next season, however they do have three second round picks along with their first rounder as well. Additionally, they still have the league's leading scorer @glass Kjell Nilsson. As noted early throughout this article, there are some teams in dire need of some supplemental offense. Nilsson will provide that, and then some. If they manage to get some more assets before the deadline, they could put themselves in a much better place heading into Season 78, but they will still need to do their homerun and hit on their draft picks. Prev: 12 | Current: 11 Well well well, look who got themselves a goaltender. And just like that the Kings are rising through the VHLM Power Rankings! While they are up one spot this week, make no mistake, it's rebuild season in Mexico, but that's okay! Since the acquisition of goaltender @ThatsGreissy Bastian Greiss, the Kings have gone 7-10-2, and clearly have shown they are much more competent then their record indicates. Unfortunately, it's going to be too little, too late, as the roster still has glaring deficiencies. Rookie defenseman @v.2 Tui Sova continues to impress fans and front office executives alike, as his development has been nothing short of amazing. He seems poised to be a high-end draftee in both the VHL and VHLM drafts this offseason. Slovenian winger @McKelvie Anze Miklavz has also shown a ton of growth and isn't far behind Sova. Prev: 11 | Current: 12 And finally we have the barren wasteland that is the Ottawa Lynx. From going to having multiple defensemen, to having none at all, the Lynx are going in the wrong direction yet again. While it can be hard to keep your team engaged and interested at times, seeing multiple players drop off a team to inactivity is never a good sign and at some point you have to wonder if there's a lack of management or leadership in Ottawa. There are currently six players on their roster, two of which are technically inactive and should be dropped, which would bring them down to four players. It's sad state of affairs, and what's worse is I have barely seen any attempts to even sign players over the past couple of weeks. I feel bad for the players that are there and still grinding away. They deserve better. Well folks that's another Power Rankings in the books. Thanks for reading. Agree with the rankings? Disagree? Do you feel I did the #BOATGANG dirty again? Discuss below, I'd love to hear what everyone thinks. Until next time, stay safe out there and take care!

Toronto Legion Weekly Presser

1. A win... finally! What can we learn from the 8L streak we endured? We can learn the important of patience. Patience is a virtue. 2. The lines were shaken up, promised to players regarding lines and ice time were broken, so was the W worth it? Meh not really. Sims are totally random anyways. We still lost to Malmo that same sim. And now you've proven that your word is as random as the sims. I think it's better to stick to your word. If you are going to just do whatever you want then don't make promises. 3. The EU Conference has been destroying Toronto. What do you think we can do to improve ourselves? All we can do is keep earning TPE to get better. This whole thing was to be a process. We have a young core of players that are all going to get better. 4. One of our dominating wins was a 8-3 W. Did you enjoy that game... was it fun to participate in? Of course, who doesn't like scoring goals. At the end of the day though its all about the getting the W. 5. On a scale of 1-10 where was your panic level during the 8L streak? 1 or 2. There's no reason to panic. The sims are out of my control. It's mostly RNG so me freaking out isn't going to change much. 6. Do you think we can climb back up the NA Conference? Yeah, I mean it's definitely possible. I guess we will have to see what happens. -

Hey @Pavel Halischuk A very warm welcome to the league! My name is fromtheinside \and I am the Assistant General Manager for the Yukon Rush, and we are highly interested in having you added to be apart of the team! We here at the Rush pride ourselves on developing our players to the best they can be, so whatever help you need both myself and the General Manager will take as much time as you need to help show you the ropes and to help make your player a star! We can offer you backup goalie to start out with, but depending on your activity and development, there's always opportunity to move up the lineup!
