Review: This looks freakin sick. It totally looks like a legit hockey poster you would see in a bedroom or something. The colours are on brand for the DC Dragons and look awesome. I like the player render and the whole double layers of the player thing you did, it looks really clean. All the font looks great and I love the little deatails like the VHL logo in the corner and a small DCD logo at the bottom middle portion of the poster. This all comes together super nice and you should be proud of it, great job. 9/10

Review: This is a pretty dope graphic! I really like the layer of shine/glare you have over top of everything, makes it look pretty slick,. The font and font colours both look great, and I love that the Legion logo was used to fill out some space too. The little X X X was a nice touch too to help add to the graphic a bit. The player render is nice and crisp and looks great also. Really nice job man, 9/10

Jardy's Chodesode #15: VHLE Conspiracy and the First Legion Domino
fromtheinside replied to JardyB10's topic in VHL.com Radio
Thad's no sellout, he's just coming off a season where he was all in for a Cup run. The Marlins were a force for the last couple of seasons so they were due for a regression season. Thad's definitely not a guy who would mail it in because he's headed elsewhere, just a coincidence. As for the trade I was in, I requested a trade, but I was super surprised to get dealt so quickly. For whatever reason we could never get over the hump in Toronto. I came up with a promising young core of players and over time they all got dealt away. So I asked to be dealt and now here I am in Malmo. Super happy to be there, hylands is a great leader and we have an awesome group here. Liked the breakdown of the trade and the banter about the VHLE Really nice job! -
Review: This is an astonishingly well done graphic. Every aspect is amazing and there is so much attention to detail. The player render and the effects you've done to him look awesome and your font pops out so much. I really love the white dots on the player name, it kinda looks like a stitching effect. In all, this is a gorgeous graphic and one you should be proud of. Also on a sidenote, I'm sorry we never really chatted much in Toronto LR, I had kinda checked out by the time you arrived, but we are both off to different homes now, all the best Frank! 10/10

Thank you for the kind words, and it's awesome to see one of the all-time greats back in the league by the way! Hope you find your time back here enjoyable -
Wow! What a 24 hours it has been! As this long and tenuous Season 79 has rolled on, I've recently felt very down and mildly depressed about my career in Toronto. To understand it, you need to go all the way back to the beginning. I hit the ground running as a rookie in the VHLM and was astounded when I saw the Toronto Legion trade up in the draft to take me 11th overall in the Season 75 VHL Entry Draft. After taking one more season to develop, I joined the club in Season 76 eager and excited to get the ball rolling. The team dynamic was okay, but there was definitely some animosity from some of the veterans on the squad. We were building something solid towards the future but not everyone was on board, so changes got made. When the dust settled though, we had a roster I was genuinely excited about. We had an amazing young core. I was happy to be part of a young crew with Jolly Greene Giant, Kristof Welch, Gunnar Odinsson, Ray Funk Jr and Sirkants Klamasteris. This young group mixed in with guys like Lester Green and Jaxx Hextall, Oh Sens, Nicholas Sunderbruch and Zairie Anigbogu really showed some promise. We were seeing improvement and our young players were all developing at a very healthy rate. Things were going great until we arrived at a fork in the road. #WinItForRookie. Our longtime goaltender Jaxx Hextall only had a couple seasons left before retirement and we started a mantra to get on a Cup run to get him a title that he most definitely deserved. Unforunately, in my opinion, we tried to fast track our development and made some aggressive moves to go all in for Hextall's remaining seasons. In my mind we went from a fun mantra of getting a Cup for Rookie to just going all-in, and in doing that we sacrificed some of our future. And to make matter's worse, things didn't go our way anyhow. We achieved a bit of regular season success but overall we didn't really accomplish much. The end result was more tinkering and trading. Eventually over time, the core I was once super excited about growing up with had evaporated. In the midst of all this, I signed a max term contract to be a lifelong member of the Legion. This came as a shock to many of my fellow players as many warn that it's never a good idea to commit that far into the future. I signed this contract for two reasons. First and foremost, I believed in the core we had and I thought if we banked on that then we would be a team to be reckoned with down the road. And secondly, I thought it would be cool to be a lifelong player for one team and just be a super low-maintenance type of guy who just committed to one club. That is really how I wanted it to play out. Unfortunately, heading into this season I took a look at our current team and realized I was the only piece left of that young core. Though we had some great new players around, it wasn't the same group that I came up with. I decided to at least try to be open-minded and see how the season went. Much like last season, we started red-hot, but also just like last season, we came spiraling back down to the bottom of the standings. I could feel myself growing unhappier and disinterested. So I decided it was time to ask for a change. To the Legion's credit, they made accommodations incredibly quickly for me. I wasn't sure how they would feel about me requesting to go in a new direction as I will admit I was kind of reneging on my pledge to be a lifelong member of the Legion. Thankfully, in less than 12 hours after requesting a trade, I woke up to find I was headed to Sweden! Malmo is a team chalk full of promise and potential and I am stoked to be headed there. Playing under captain Muffbeav will be a ton of fun, and ironically I am reunited with my old friend Gunnar Odinsson from Toronto! I am also very excited to play for GM Chris Hylands as I know first hand from my time as an AGM in the M that he is a crafty and critical thinker and I trust in his process! I can't wait to see what I can do to help out the Nighthawks in any way I can! To Toronto management and Legion fans everywhere, thank you for taking a chance on me. I'm sorry we couldn't get better results. The team still has incredible assets like Addison McLaren and Phoenix Dawson and Lester Green. I wish all the players there the very best, I hope you guys can rebound and turn things around. I'll see you guys down the road, but for now I am excited to don the blue and green and be the newest member of the Malmo Nighthawks!

1. What do you think about the Legions' season so far? It reminds me alot of last season where we started really well but eventually we went to shit. That being said, I am glad we have had a bit of early success. 2. Any opinions on your players performance? I committed alot of extra TPE in the offseason to finish my build. I feel like it has paid off reasonably well. I am getting a ton of assists but I don't understand why my shooting percentage is absolute garbage. 3. NA 'seems' to be stagnating. Which team do you think pulls away from this point on? My guess is that Chicago and Los Angeles have strong seasons. It's still early so who knows, but I think they both have very competitive rosters. 4. Were you surprised with our start or did you think we'd 'fall back to Earth'? I was surprised we strung so many wins together to start the year off, but STHS would find a way of correcting itself. It is what it is. 5. As a sim engine what are your thoughts about STHS? Don't love it. It's old and outdated and largely seems like RNG when you get to the point of where our league is and everyone has the same builds. I would like to see more options for builds with different viable options rather than everyone just maxing the same 4 categories. 6. How many wins do you think Toronto will finish with? I think we probably finish with about 30 wins give or take. There's alot of good teams in the VHL. -
Loving this! Great work as always Nicky boy, you're one of the most creative writers in our community my friend!

It was nice working with you on last years draft stream Sonnet. All the best!

Founders Cup champion Gerald Lavoie! Lol he signed up and joined Yukon and originally thought this was an NHL 21 EASHL competitive league. He was a bit disappointed but he was a great sport and stayed on with us for our Cup run.

lots of great options for my predecessor! make me proud guys! #FeelTheRush

1. What do you think about our roster (compared to other NA teams)? I think we are going to have a hard time stacking up with the other teams in NA that have patiently built up a strong foundation over the course of a few seasons. Chicago. Los Angeles, etc are all primed to compete and I don't think we stack up with them. 2. Who do you think will see the most improvement this season? I think Addison McLaren is primed for a big year as a top line forward. Also I could see Vick Fairchild having a breakout season. 3. If you're comfortable making predictions... where do you think TOR finishes? If I had to guess, probably around 5-7th in the NA Conference. But it's hard to say since the sim engine is pretty trash. Hopefully I am wrong though. 4. Do you think we make the playoffs? Well if my prediction holds true than no. I think there's alot of other teams that have improved while we have taken steps back over the past season and a half. 5. Who do you think will be the leading goal scorer? Either Addison McLaren or Lester Green would be my guess. 6. Who do you think will finish with the most assists? If I had to guess, I think I might lead the team in assists this year. Depends on the deployment but yeah that seems reasonable. -
Domg is gonna do great things in Yukon. I am going to be excited to watch him make his mark on the franchise going forward! Congrats brother!

Review: First off let say how great it is to see my former overlord and satanic being himself, Papa Emeritus getting some new drip.. truly well deserved. This is a simplistic yet gorgeous graphic. The goalie render goes perfectly with that background and it all ties together wonderfully but the font is probably my favourite aspect of this graphic. It's so clean and refined and I love that lighting effect you have over top of Emeritus. This is a nice piece of work DAAD. Love to see it. 9.5/10

Review: Wow great looking graphic you got there kiddo, it's got all the bells and whistles a guy could ask for! The player render with the jersey swap is great, and I also like the background you chose. The font and the outlining around it is a nice touch as well. Normally I'd give this an 8/10 but it's a subtle reminder I am alone and heartbroken on Toronto so today we are gonna have to bump you down to a 3 out of 10. Have a great day! love you uWu

Well tonight was the big night! The VHLM Dispersal Draft went down and there were some clear winners and losers. Right off the bat, Mississauga jumps off the board as the clear cut winner and perennial favourite to compete for the Founder's Cup in Season 79. The Hounds already found themselves in a favourable position heading into the draft with three first round picks already secured. But in addition to that, they made a couple big moves to even further solidify themselves as the top team in the M heading into the start of the season. AJ Williams had himself a historic day. He was taken first overall by the Hounds and also 5th overall by the LA Stars of the VHL. Williams will be joining a stacked roster in Mississauga but he could make the jump to Los Angeles this season should he choose to do so...time will tell. On the flipside of things, I feel like if you had to pick a loser in this draft, look no further than the Las Vegas Aces. The Aces GM Jiggs made a lot of noise by making a number of deals surrounding the picks in this year's draft. But sometimes less is more, and I really don't understand the thinking behind some of these trades. The Aces have effectively mortgaged their future by trading away their Season 80 high end draft picks and normally this would be fine if you were planning to compete immediately. But when you take a look at the Vegas roster, I really have my doubts whether they can hang with some of the top teams in the league. They have a full roster which is great, and they do possess two decent goaltenders. But aside from a small handful of players who are partially developed, I don't think they have what it takes to be a Cup winning team this season. They would have to HEAVILY rely on player development and have to hope alot of their young draft hopefuls do big things this season. I feel like this team is built to dominate in a year from now, but again- they traded away their future picks so none of this makes any sense to me. As for the reigning champion Yukon Rush. They are a stark contrast from Vegas. They loaded up for Season 78 and went the distance. But now they have conceded that Season 79 will be a rebuild year and if you take one quick look at their roster you will see that Yukon is in for a long season. That being said, they already have three first rounders and two second rounders for the Season 80 draft, so they are in a good position to reload for next season. It should be fun to watch the season unfold as it will be the last traditional season with players capped at 250 TPE. Next season the Euro league opens up and things will be changing dramatically for the VHLM.
