  1. preseason retirement
  2. Simply put, Claude Giroux barely scored during 5-on-5 situations during the 2016-17 season. He tallied just 18 points in over 1100 minutes of play, good for a painful 0.94 Points/60. That ranked him 12th among Flyers forwards, ahead of only Roman Lyubimov and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare. Yes, that’s right — even Chris VandeVelde and Dale Weise were more efficient 5v5 scorers last season than Claude Giroux. His status relative to peers around the league was even more cringe-inducing. Giroux ranked 327th in Points/60 among NHL forwards with at least 400 minutes at 5v5. If we assume that players in the top-90 scored like first liners last year (30 teams, three players on each line), then Giroux fell into the bucket of a fourth line scorer in 2016-17, behind luminaries like Luke Glendening and Cedric Paquette. @Devise @Fire Hakstol @boubabi Giroux is not a 1C
  3. To Calgary: Titan Kronos Max Hollenzolern or however it's spelled TO Quebec: CGY S57 2nd @Frank
  4. different trade. I was fine with the logic behind that one. This is about a trade soon to be announced
  5. Despite our differences in believing in "the process", @Devise and me had a great working relationship when it came to trades. I've made quite a few trades with Devise over the seasons, and our communications have always been clear and efficient. The same cannot be said for New York's current GM. There is a trade soon to be announced where New York will trade away players for 2 1sts. I offered to give 3 1sts for those players, which logically any GM should take. I inquired about this trade days ago, and made the exact same offer this other team was making. I then heard no word from STZ until today, like a day or two later, when I asked what was going on, he said he had deals in place, I offered more and for some odd reason he refused. His lack of logic and communication annoys me to no end and because he has screwed over my team this season Calgary will boycotting any trades with New York until a new GM is in power.
  6. maybe @gorlab will be a bold man and so no for some reason? Stay tuned
  7. depends are you simming?
  8. wow. Looks like you have some competition @Higgins
  9. The ProcessForward Points Hits @Corco @Frank @Higgins Please change the ratios for this season because the sliders made the scoring super low and it's making me lose tpe
  10. trade me
  11. Can't wait to have you up in the VHL next season!
  12. Much Needed Shakeup For the past few seasons, there have only really been four competing teams, and a real lack of trades as all four of those teams fancied their odds of winning the cup and did not want to give up any of their players. Finally, it appears as though the competing teams will change. Stockholm and New York are likely looking at rebuilds, and teams like Calgary, Toronto, Davos, and who knows who else could be looking to begin competing. I've only just started having trade discussions today, and there is a ton to keep up with. I actually had to make myself a google docs sheet to keep up with all of the offers. This is great news for the VHL though, as I think this offseason is going to be one of the most exciting in recent memory trade wise! Then I've also taken an initial look at free agents and it should be a decent free agent market, with a few young players who might be looking to join a squad long term. It will be a pivotal offseason for many teams. New Commissioner @Will has been pretty much inactive all summer, and rumor has it that a lady friend is the reason why. Everyone is allowed to have a real life and I wish him well, but I am pretty sad to have a great VHL member not around much, and personally I always enjoyed chatting with him. Not sure if he is remaining on blue team or what, but best of luck Draper. To make up for this loss, @Smarch has been hired, and I think he is an excellent fit! He was great to work with when we were both VHLM commisioners, and he took on a lot of responsibility this season in setting up the 10th anniversary, so thank you and good luck Smarch! Updated Forum The VHL is copying off of facebook with new ways to like posts, which is a good thing. We now get to have "reactions" to posts, like laughing, frowning faces, etc instead of just a simple like. This is a fun new addition that I will enjoy. Also, chat seems to be working much smoother lately, so that is good. The only thing I don't really like is that my skin got changed with the update, I forget what it was but I think it was a darker skin. All we need to do is move locker rooms to the top and we will be all set! New Jobs Filled Congrats to @Corco on becoming a new VHLM commish, apparently he was quite involved in the VHLM so I hope he does a great job. Also, I am too lazy to look, but someone stepped in to be the EU updater for Brovy/Kesler, so thank you to whoever that was. We also have two new GM spots that will soon be announced, and I am happy to see those spots filled as well.
