My favorite VHL moment was Calgary's cup run in S44. My favorite moment might not have actually been winning the cup, but when we just absolutely smacked down Quebec after a season of trash talking from Kesler and Da Trifecta (I would tag them but I have no idea what their current usernames are, someone please tag them). It only took us five games to beat Quebec, who most expected to win, and just take a look at this glorious thread. We beat them 6-0 in the final game and thoroughly outshot them. We had @CowboyinAmerica with WinGod and the rivalry with DT's goalie who I think wound up retiring lol We had @Ball back when he was active, miss him We had @Cuffy, the long time Wrangler loyalist We had @Jala, who is one of my favorite members for making @boubabi very upset We had @philthethrill81, who gave us a great depth player in Rami Jacobbssen We had @Caillean when she was actually active with Jaime Hill We had @Munk in our locker room for some reason Also Ithink we had @mpclardy too :3 That was such a fun year. Probably the most active team I've been on, dominated Quebec after all that trash talking, and got my first and only cup as GM -

I am rooting against Stockholm in the playoffs, not because I don't like them, as I am actually pretty neutral towards them. I just own their first round pick and want it to be as good as possible. Kind of similiar to how Cologne tried to actually win for once again Calgary, but still failed because they made sacrifices to the tanking gods. This is Gowecny's last season and I find it fascinating how the market has become so poop that none of the competing teams even had any room for him. I think this offseason is going to be good for the VHL just to bring some change and get pieces moving again. The trade market in general was just too stagnant as none of the big four wanted to trade off their pieces. I got a new laptop and am typing this from that so that is fun. Thanks for reading bye

Is the Process Over? Things got tight at the end of the season as Toronto went on a run and almost caught up, but I am happy to say that the Calgary Wranglers have made the playoffs. While Calgary realistically has like a 1% chance of winning the cup, we did not want to tank like Cologne, because tanking is for losers. It is fun to make the playoffs again, as being a crappy rebuilding team got pretty old. In this article I will talk about some of the key reasons we made the playoffs so enjoy. Goaltending: @Higgins is the number one reason why we made the playoffs. Jacob had a quite respectable 0.926 save percentage, one that most year's would be considered outstanding, but this is the year of the goaltender. There were many games this season that Jacob stole for us, where we would get outshot by 20 shots or so and win 2-1. I would also like to point out that among goalies with at least 29 penalty shots against, Jabob had the best penalty shot save percentage so bravo to him! We appreciate Jacob being patient with the process so far, and hopefully next season we can give him full support so his goaltending no longer has to carry us. The Big Three: The Wranglers unfortuneatly don't have much depth, but they do have three top players who can at least compete with other teams' first lines. Those three players are Travis Gowecy, Felix Savard, and Marc-Alexandre Leblanc. Despite only playing in 66 games because he was busy converting people to the process, Gowecny lead the team with 72 points, and had the most goals with 37. Next in points was Felix Savard, which is very impressive considering that @Frank is only a rookie. I feel like Savard has a legitimate case for rookie of the year, as he was 4th among rookies in points, but was a defensemen, making it much harder to earn points than the forwards above him. Savard lead the entire league in powerplay goals, showing off his prowess as the quarterback of the powerplay with a blistering slapshot. Lastly, @Pandar led the team with a -1 +/-, showing he can put up points even when having to be paired with some scrubs. His 33 goals were 2nd most on the team, and though he is a quiet member around the boards his play and tpe earning is underrated. While Gowecny will unfortunately be gone next season, Savard and Leblanc should make for great pieces of Calgary's core for seasons to come. So that pretty much sums up how Calgary got this far. Great goaltending and a few great individual performances. Jim Lahey and Journeyman have performed about as expected as below-average depth players, and Luca Volkov has only been with the team for a few games so far. Next season though, we have lots of youth coming up, some picks to trade, and some great core pieces already. I am excited! Trust the Process

How has your life changed since the VHL began?

glad to read this thread, lots of good stories in here! For me, I first started this league as a freshman in high school, and am now heading into my junior year of college. I remember at some point talking to @Victor about me possibly becoming a GM, and I was so engaged in the convo that I was a few minutes late to my cashier shift at the grocery store I worked at. This summer, I've been working an internship with typical 9-5 hours, and honestly it's served as a wakeup call. As much as I complained about school, college and even high school is much better than that I think (minus the money!) I'm kind of glad i got this wakeup call as I think it will help me appreciate my next few years of college more before I join the workforce. I still game a good amount, but nowhere near what I used to. I used to be able to play COD all day long, but I get bored of any game after a few hours. Play NHL a lot now, me and @Fire Hakstol are in a club with some friends ranked around 200-300 ish, so pretty good. @DollarAndADream if you want to play again, let me know! I enjoyed our game last time. And yes, I can beat Jim in most games now as I play them more. I think if me now at 19 and 20 played the Jim of 19-20, we'd be pretty evenly matched. He beat up on me in NHL when I was young. I've really enjoyed being here for the past 5 years or whatever it's been. Hopefully the VHL eventually winds up being older than some of the users on here. -
