  1. 1. Generating high offense complemented by a great limitation of chances on defense. 2. Every player, it’s amazing how everything has come together early on, and how everyone is doing their part. 3. Brick oven pizza is a must. 4. I’d say Jaks, Torbjorn and Landry, for being among the league leaders right now. 5. Sometimes, but I try to rely more on the work/effort itself. Pre-game, I like to shoot from the same spot at the beginning of warm up and at the end before heading off. 6. By wearing apparel from the team store! Hats, gloves, boots, coats, and of course, on sale all the time, sunglasses!!
  2. I have been debating about commenting here, and I’ve decided I will. I think the image is a bit misleading. When I first signed Budnik, I walked them through earning and showed them how to claim a press conference, which they did. I then told them about graphics and media spots, and the requirements/TPE amount, and gave them some ideas as well. At the time I had also made a slideshow presentation for earning with all relevant info, which was posted in the San Diego locker room. I’m certainly not blaming Budnik at all, it’s obviously a lot to take in for new members. I just wanted to say what happened. I have always tried my best to make myself available to help, and stepped down from M GMing when my schedule couldn’t handle it anymore. My priority was always developing rather than winning, as evidenced by the fact that I didn’t trade an active player away in our rebuilding year. While it would have gained us assets, it would not have been good for the league and development to have such few players on the team.

    ROM/OSL; S87

Condition: Rome receives S88 OSL 5th if the draft goes to that round. Thanks @Baby Boomer for the trade talks and good luck to Rome. @McLean Hoover good luck moving forward!
  4. First just want to say you're doing great so far! Your draft class is S88 which is the next one, after this season. You'll be drafted then in two separate drafts, one for Europe, one for the VHL. Once you reach 200 TPE you'll move up to Europe, and once you reach 300-400 you can go to the VHL. I'm sure it may seem complicated at first, but if you need clarification just ask. Here's a link below to a build guide that Gustav put together to get you started, but happy to help if you have any specific questions. Basically, try not to put all your points into one attribute right away, but also, don't spread them out among all attributes; certain ones have a larger impact than others.
  5. With the season scheduled to start tomorrow, it's again time to name our captains here in Oslo. However, first we have something special to announce: our first retired number. Jon Webber Jr ( @Webberj), captain of Oslo's two championship teams thus far, will have his #91 officially retired later this season. There have been so many great players who have made their mark on the Storm organization, especially during the last two Cup runs, but it only makes sense to honor Webber at this point in time. Oslo's first pick in Season 84, Webber would first take the ice for the team in S85, where he was elected captain by his peers, a role he would honorably serve in for two seasons. During that time, he would establish himself as a prolific scorer, and climb to second place all-time in goals (65) and points (148) for the club, as well as third in assists (83). He also is the leader in game-winning goals with 17, plus/minus at +50, and shots with a total of 904. He was second in the VHLE in points (93) and assists (55) in S85 as well. As it stands, he is first in Oslo playoff goals (11), tied for second in points (20), and tied for first in game-winners (4), one of which was the S85 cup-winning 2OT goal. However, in addition to being a fantastic player, Webber was a terrific presence to have in the locker room too. He led not only with his play, but also with his words for two seasons, hyping up the rest of the team. @KRZY and I are both very glad to retire his jersey. He will certainly be missed here, but we are excited to see what he'll do in Riga this season and beyond! Now, to announce our S87 Captain who will succeed Webber, and our alternates! Captain: #8 Brodie Landry III @Brodie_Landry As the longest-tenured Storm player and a nominee last season for top defender, Landry was an ideal choice for captain. He has always been very active in the LR and passionate about Oslo. We are confident in Landry to lead us on our quest for another cup! Alternate: #7 Ben McLaughlin @Ben mclaughlin This will be McLaughlin's second season in Oslo. They will undoubtedly play a huge role in our offense this season, and we can't wait to see how they do! McLaughlin has been involved with the organization for a few seasons total now, and has had a great outlook on the team in general, bringing much enthusiasm to the discord. Alternate: #55 Hunor Solyom @solyom Solyom first joined us in S85 after being drafted in S83. They have been very loyal to Oslo, and will certainly be pivotal to our back end this season. We are thrilled to have such an awesome person in the LR this season! Alternate: #89 Jimi Jaks @kelvi Jaks brings some veteran leadership to the squad from a member perspective, as Kelvi has been part of the league for a while, and is currently serving as Riga's AGM. We didn't expect Jaks to play in the VHLE this season; that being said, we are ecstatic to have such a talent, and a person like Kelvi on the team. That's all for now, LETS GO STORM!

  9. Oreo McFleury - Hello Europe/Oslo! Fresh off a Founders Cup victory with the San Diego Marlins, Oreo McFleury was drafted 5th overall to the Oslo Storm and 5th overall to the Vancouver Wolves. Following his 101 points in 92 regular season games in the VHLM, and 25 in 16 playoff matchups, Oreo storms onto the European scene (pun intended). Oreo is in search of a Renaissance Cup, to take one step closer to winning all three in his career, as well as (hopefully) World Cup gold eventually. He aims to have a very successful season and be among the league leaders in scoring after a lot of training this offseason. Specifically, he wants to overtake Brock Hampton who is returning after leading the league in points with the Cologne Express. However, he mainly wants to see his team do well, and likes the offensive firepower Oslo appears to have heading in. He is familiar with Halvar Torbjorn already from their time together in Mexico City at the end of Season 85, and trained with draftmate Jimi Jaks in the offseason. As for the type of forward Oreo wants to be: a two-way forward with high end scoring ability. He’s shown to be nearly equally good at making plays and netting goals himself, with 46 goals and 45 assists last season with the Marlins. Also worth mentioning is how there will be some brotherly competition this season, with Reese McFleury playing with the Istanbul Red Wolves, whom his agent used to work for. Oreo is looking forward to facing off against Reese, especially with him being a defenseman. Sadly, the third brother, Skor, will not be playing another season in the VHLE after dominating with the Express last season. Instead, he will be lacing up his skates with the Riga Reign in the big league, where Oreo and Reese will compete against him soon with the Vancouver Wolves. As for Oslo, the team is trying to win their third straight championship, which Oreo is glad to be a part of. As always, it won’t be easy, as several different teams are eyeing a run. Cologne, for one, who has developed a rivalry with the Storm, is again looking to be a real contender. None other than fellow Marlin alum Justin Lion will be tending their goal, so it will take a bit of mental adjustment for Oreo to learn to score on his former goalie. Overall, Oreo would love to score more points than his brother Skor did, and lead Oslo to another Renaissance cup. He has a great feeling about what the season will bring and is happy to be playing with some excellent players. Five players remain in Oslo from the S86 season, and Oreo knows he’s lucky to get the chance to take the ice with them, in addition to the numerous additions to the team. Word Count: 473

  14. 1. I don`t remember where we were last week either the start of the final’s series against Prague or shortly after the first two games, either way this question is about the first two games in which we lost. Were you surprised that we lost the first two games of the finals? Why or why not? Yeah, Prague was a good competitor for sure, but got ahead quicker than I may have thought. Definitely made Vancouver double down and focus. 2. After game two most started writing this team off but we quickly tied the series back up at two games apiece. Did this surprise you or what surprised you about the first four games? The momentum shift was evident. It was sort of a surprise but also not, I knew the Wolves would not go down without a fight, but at the same time it was sort of surprising to see it tied right back up. 3. I think I might have asked this question last week but has anything changed now that we are done with the play-offs as Champions. Again, who was our teams play-off MVP and why? Toughie. Probably either Cheese or Fuhr, Cheese tied for the lead in points as a defender and had 14 goals; Fuhr was rock solid with a .932. 4. Hours after lifting cup, Biggie Cheese along with a 4thwas traded to Warsaw for Vasile Lamb and S88 WAR 1st. What impact will this have on the team next season and do you agree with trading away one of our most valuable players? It is obviously tough to lose a player of Cheese’s caliber, but it was necessary for cap reasons. Was good to gain a high pick and the rights to a great player, even if they got flipped for other assets. 5. Pierre Emile Bouchard interest request today to head back to the VHLE so that he could claim all three league titles so how many titles have you won and what leagues? Do you know of anyone that has actually won all three championships? As a player, S78 Founder’s Cup with Yukon (RIP) and S86 with San Diego. Hopefully a Renaissance followed by Continental Cups here in Vancouver coming! 6. Repeating is always one of the hardest things to do in any sport but if I am correct Vancouver was the last team to actually accomplish this in the VHL. What do you think of our chances of repeating next season and what should our goals be for next season? Very solid, the management team has adapted to cap-related issues that arose and put the team in a spot to be successful again. Our goals should be to come together as a team and win it again.
