  7. 1. After losing in seven games in the first round of the play-offs to DC Dragons was this a disappoint end to the season? Why or Why not? Yes and no, obviously would have been great to advance to the final but I'm definitely proud of what we were able to accomplish. We went from having the #1 overall pick to nearly defeating the Dragons in a seven game series! 2. Once again after losing in the first round of the play-offs, how would you rank the teams` season on a scale of 1-10 and why? I'd say a solid 8, we recovered swiftly from some rough patches along the way to almost make the finals. Of course, we improved significantly from last season and set the tone for future success in Vancouver. Nothing to be ashamed about at all. 4. Looking ahead to next season, what do you think of the teams’ current chances to make the play-offs with Anze Miklavz and Nathan Powers retirements; not to mention Nico Pearce possible leaving as an UFA? Very good, some natural growth will happen throughout the season with the younger players. Sad I will not be returning, but on the bright side Pearce is back on for another season!
  8. Going into this season I knew there was a lot of promise, both from a player and GM point-of-view. My first player, Nathan Powers, was entering his final season as a free agent, ultimately inking a deal with Vancouver. In addition, Oslo had a decent collection of picks and prospects coming together for a hopeful cup run. I couldn't be happier with the way the season worked out overall; I even recreated as a right wing with Oreo McFleury, brother of Skor and Reese. Right from the start of free agent discussions, @Frank was up front with me and committed to making the Wolves the best they could be for Season 85. While there were several great options on the table, I jumped at the opportunity to try and win a cup in my final season. Trades had already been made for Biggie Cheese, Alexandre Leduc and Wattson Power, and there were rumors of reigning MVP Nico Pearce as well as Anze Miklavz potentially signing. The season as a whole was a fantastic way to end my first career, and although we lost in seven games to the eventual champions, D.C., I had a great time with a LR of great people and activity. I was aiming for a significant step forward this season with the Storm, but certainly did not imagine what was to come. We were able to assemble a much fuller team than in the few seasons prior, which was at the top of my list of priorities. It was very nice having so many active and awesome people on the team. We did much better than I originally anticipated, the players leading the way through earning and activity. We had some a couple win streaks that brought a lot of excitement, but we also had some tough strings of games where we barely maintained a .500 record. The trade deadline deal for Babushka and Quinn Clark paid dividends in the long run and solved some of our defensive woes. Big thanks to @l1l KRZY l9l for strongly advocating for additions to be made. Luckily we were fortunate enough that those two players were on the block at the right time. We had explored some different options but nothing really worked out. I'm also glad we switched our strategy in the postseason from more offensive-minded to relying on our improved defense and Tucker Jr more. We knew he'd be the key in the Vasteras series with Matt Murdock being so consistent all season long. He without a doubt stepped up when it mattered most, as did the entire team. Both rounds were extremely tough fought battles against really good teams. We got off to an early lead vs Vasteras and Cologne, but they both made us nervous, winning important games decisively. This made me take more risks than I would have liked in terms of tactics, but I'm glad we got it done in the end. Special thanks to everyone on the S85 Storm roster and Krzy for your invaluable roles in winning Oslo its first ever Renaissance Cup! Word Count: 512
  9. Looking ahead to next season in Oslo, we looked poised to compete again. With players such as McLaughlin, Kauppi, and Overmeyer joining our offense and Reinhold and Ripper joining the backend, we are confident in our outlook on the ice heading into the draft and free agency. Minion will seamlessly bridge the gap in goal with both Tucker Jr and Tombstone departing for the VHL. We'll look to sign some FAs like we did last season and use the picks we possess wisely. While our personnel and system may look a bit different, our end goal will be the same next season. Shifting over to McFleury, Mexico City's run was a blast to be a part of. It was fun to unite with @badcolethetitan after we were both part of another online hockey community. Cole has quickly rose in the ranks to GM and has excelled at building his team. We came up short in the semis, however it was a good start to my newest career and was cool to play with the other McFleurys. I look forward to a full season in the M as a player for the first time in what, 16 or so months? It will be interesting to say the least. I'm not sure where I'll be playing, but I'm open to anything! Yukon is gone now so sadly I cannot go back. Word Count: 229

Condition 1 has been met, assuming the draft goes to Round 5. @Acydburn @Enorama
  12. GG Cologne and @leandrofg, you had an excellent season that you should definitely be proud of! Thank you @l1l KRZY l9l for your great work in your first season as AGM, could not have done this without you! And thanks to all the Oslo players for making the season what it was and helping to maintain a positive atmosphere! Let's Go Storm!
  13. Welcome to the VHL @Tuchy! Teams should be contacting you soon, but for now here’s the link to the server for the Junior Showcase Tournament, which runs during the off-season for players in the minor league: https://discord.gg/qQvskR9F If you need anything just ask
  14. Game 29 Recap: In Game 1 of this pivotal matchup between two younger teams, the D.C. Dragons and Chicago Phoenix, D.C. takes the lead early on a goal from Darth Kaprizov. The Phoenix follow with two goals, one from Seymour Butts and the other from Sunrise van de Schubbekuteveen. Scotty Sundin seals the game for Chicago 19 seconds into the third with a goal. Cole Pearce earned the first star in net for Chicago, saving 36 of 37 shots (.973 save percentage). Baby Bob and The Board Game Clue on Skates also had two assists for the winning team. (96 words)
  15. Then Murdock will replace Papa
  16. 1. Vancouver Wolves finished third overall in the league this season and second overall in the North America Conference. Did this come as a bit of a surprise based on where we drafted last season? Yes and no, definitely surprised the league based on perceptions prior to the offseason; not so much due to the great offseason we had. We also faced some adversity and surprised many with the run we went on to reach third place. 2. Simple question I think but what have you been doing to stay ready for the first round of the play-offs while we want for the Wildcard games to be played? Prior to us being eliminated, just training my defense and skating skills mostly. It helped especially when I trained with a young player named McFleury. 3. Talking about wildcard games; were you surprised by any of the results with HC Davos & Malmo going the full five games (wanted to write seven) and Chicago Phoenix upsetting the Seattle Bears? Definitely surprised me to see Seattle go out so early given their history in the postseason. 4. Nico Pearce had another impressive season with 50 goals and 99 points but missed out on Kevin Brooks Trophy by a single goal. Is this disappointing or will it be something that doesn`t matter if we lift the trophy later? Some tough luck for sure but Pearce had a great season overall. I’m sure it wouldn’t have mattered as much had we lifted the cup. 5. Brandt Fuhr had a great season with 37 wins, 2.36 GA and .928 sav%. Do think he will land the Aidan Shaw Award? Do you best to convince others why he should win the Aidan Shaw Award. I certainly hope so! Fuhr was excellent in all aspects of the game and steady throughout the whole season. 6. Riddle: I`m tall when I`m young and I`m short when I`m old. What am I? How about a debt? Tried to think a little outside the box here lol.
  17. Good series Vasteras!
  18. S85 Oslo Storm Prospect Report With the regular season officially over and playoffs having begun in all three leagues, it's time to take a peek at how Oslo's prospects have fared over the past couple months. Currently there are six active prospects whose seasons we'll be examining; three forwards (all left wings), two defenders, and one goaltender. First up, the forwards! Forwards LW Nikolas Kauppi, Mexico City Kings @Tetricide: Kauppi broke out on the score sheet in his first full season as a member of the Kings. He led the team in goals with 41 (T-9th VHLM), was third in points with 76, and second in hits at 201 (8th league-wide). In the playoffs so far, he has the most points on the Kings with eight (4 goals, 4 assists) and is tied for the league lead in game winners (2), displaying his clutch ability. In addition, Kauppi has assumed a leadership role as captain of Mexico City, and is a very integral part of the team. I know this since the newest player in my agency, Oreo McFleury, plays for the Kings. Undoubtedly, Kauppi will be a huge presence (both figuratively and literally - standing at 6'4", 200 lbs) on the S86 Storm team. LW Ben McLaughlin, Miami Marauders @Ben mclaughlin: McLaughlin's final season in the M was certainly one to remember. In their second stint in Miami, McLaughlin managed to finish fifth in goals (20) on the team despite playing less than half the season there. They were also sixth in points at 47. In the postseason, McLaughlin is tied for second in the league in goals (4) and tied for seventh in points (7). They are tied for third in shots (28). The Marauders added yet another offensive weapon in Ben McLaughlin, that's for sure. We can't wait to have them join us next season. LW Robert Overmeyer, Las Vegas Aces @RobBro34: The third and final forward we'll be taking a look at is Robert Overmeyer of Vegas. A crucial piece on the highest scoring team in the league, Overmeyer netted 39 goals (4th on Vegas) and 60 helpers (2nd-Vegas, 8th VHLM) for 99 points (3rd-Vegas, T-7th VHLM). They had 464 shots, good for second in the entire M. Furthermore, they currently sit tied for seventh in playoff tallies with three. Overmeyer solidifies the group coming to Norway next season and gives fans much reason to be excited. Defenders Jack The Ripper, Saskatoon Wild @Ripper: The Ripper of the Saskatoon Wild posted 92 points, second-most by a defender; 23 more than the third place finisher. In the process, they tied for third in the league in assists with 69 in 69 games played. Meanwhile, they blocked 160 shots, only trailing Rex Wolffe Gregor of the Philadelphia Reapers and fellow Wild defender Reno Reinhold. Here in Oslo we can't wait to see what The Ripper will bring to our blueline. Reno Reinhold, Saskatoon Wild @Reno: Oh look, The Ripper's Wild teammate! The likely winner of the Ryan Sullivan Trophy as top defender in the M, Reinhold dominated play in all facets. They did an excellent job in all zones, both for Houston and later, Saskatoon. Leading defenders in points with 103, including an impressive 33 goals from the backend, they came in second in assists among all players (70). However, Reinhold blocked the most shots as well, sacrificing the body an incredible 191 times. Reinhold will be pivotal for the Storm next season. Goaltender Alexander Minion, Saskatoon Wild @UnknownMinion: Yet another Saskatoon player?! We might as well establish an official affiliation between the teams at this point. More seriously, Minion was a brick wall in net for the Wild all season long. They played in all 72 games, yes all 72 games, and notched the second-most victories at 38. Having the highest save percentage (.921) and most shutouts (7), Minion will be a top choice for the Benoit Devereux Trophy, awarded to the best goaltender in the M. We can't be more happy to bring in another star goaltender for next season. That is all for the first edition of the Oslo Storm Prospect Report, I'm hoping to make this a seasonal tradition. Congrats to all the prospects on fantastic seasons and good luck to those still in the playoffs. We are truly thrilled to have you all coming up next season! Word Count: 723
  19. Definitely like the Twitter idea, especially since the VHL has its own active account already. I know certain teams had twitter accounts and transferred ownership before, but it seems there are a lesser amount of running accounts now. The spreadsheet idea could make things official and drive recruitment like you said.
  20. I'll also apply, I feel this role is one I could thrive in. Generally speaking, I look to de-escalate tense situations and make peace rather than fueling an argument. I seek to help others and solve problems, which could benefit me as a moderator. I'm on the forums and discord regularly, my most active hours being from about 6-8 AM and 3-11 PM EST most days. I am able to check in multiple times during the day too, but am steadily online during these hours for at least five days of the week, including weekends when I have more free time. Days when I'm not, I can manage a similar amount of hours to be online, although they're not as constant. I did just get a new job so I cannot promise I'll be online all the time, but when I am I will make up for it and give the role my all. I do my best to reply to pings as soon as I see them, and have 2FA enabled. I am 16 turning 17 in January, however I think I could perform well as a moderator because I strongly weigh my options prior to making a decision. I am very willing to learn and improve if selected for this role, too. While I do hold a GM position I do not believe it would be a problem; if there were any issues pertaining to Oslo I would not treat the situation any different. I try to be objective no matter what and do the right thing. I have experience with sensitivity training because of sports, and I'm currently taking a course that deals a lot with psychology. Overall I would look for a fair and reasonable resolution to conflicts in line with what the members of the mod team think. Thanks for your consideration and good luck to all!
  21. Great player comparisons!! Appreciate the comparison to Yzerman, lots of work to do to reach that territory
