  3. The Oslo Storm make an IA FA offer to Jordan Bennett.
  4. The Oslo Storm make an IA FA offer to Travis Clark.
  5. 1. Just try to move forward, knowing we almost won it all and had a successful season. 2. To start building around a new core, we could use players at all positions right now. 3. It was interesting having a player on the Storm this season, that’s for sure. Probably took away from some of the excitement, to be honest, not being affiliated with another team in some fashion. 4. Scouting and the draft, mainly. 5. To try to have a solid rookie season by applying my banked TPE. Also, to help Vancouver win the cup. 6. Bruins for sure (I hope)!
  6. @Spartakiller2 just reply to this post in writing if you wish to re-sign with Oslo for S88, in the event that you don't get called up!

    OSL/IST; S88

Condition: Should the S89 Draft go 5 rounds, Oslo receives S89 IST 5th. @Masu Chan just like this post to confirm! Thanks for the talks and congrats on your first E deal!

    OSL/IST; S87

Update: Istanbul does not receive the S89 4th, and the S89 2nd remains a 2nd as neither condition was met.
  9. 1. Somewhat, but more of the latter. It’s nice to have a bit of time off to reset and prepare for the new season. 2. I’m going to say Jacob Stone, with the significant TPE lead and the fact that they’re a defender. 3. Nothing major to be honest, but London will do some serious damage. 1. What Continental Cup team was the best of the last 5-10 seasons? 2. Favorite TV series? 3. Just for fun, what would a Connor McDavid trade package look like, in your opinion?
  10. It appears that would be @samx with her scamsurance
  11. It is indeed, eclipsing the mark of 81 minutes in the S34 Founder’s Cup Final. (91 minutes)
  12. Congrats and thanks for all you do Bek! Glad you’re sticking around, really made me nervous when I first started reading haha
  13. 1. We just need to find ways to generate more high quality scoring chances. 2. Looking forward to seeing every player contribute, and hopefully push us to the next round. 3. I’d say our offense is, we have the firepower just need to convert on more chances. 4. Someone who has high hockey IQ, can skate, and can play well no matter the situation. 5. Definitely goalie, although all positions are key. 6. I liked how strong we were at various points, with strings of good games. However, we lost our stride a bit towards the end, and need to regain it.
  14. 1. I’m going to say Warsaw and Malmo. 2. Pitcher, since he would like the added pressure the position brings. 3. Final, if they lose at all. 1. Biggest surprise VHL team this season? 2. Thoughts on the recent NHL trades? Specifically, what’d you think of the return on the Jeannot trade? 3. Do you prefer to watch a movie or a series?
  15. Hello all and welcome to a comprehensive ranking, 7-1, of the other VHLE teams (as rivals to the Storm). To add to the suspense I’ll be going in reverse order, from the coolest rivalry to the one with the most heat. Factors taken into consideration will be head-to-head record, playoff meetings, geographical distance, and more. With all that being said, let’s dive in! 7. Geneva Rush To be honest we don’t have all that much history with the Rush, having never met in the playoffs. The two teams haven’t really shared a contending timeline quite yet. Geneva had the upper hand throughout the first few seasons after both clubs came over to Europe from the VHLM. However, Oslo has improved as of late. As I mentioned, the two teams did relocate concurrently, and they are the sole expansion teams thus far in VHLE history. I also did some AGMing for a short period of time with Geneva, so hopefully that counts as a connection between the two? Either way, the teams both currently hold a playoff spot this season though, so maybe we’ll see more of a rivalry in the making? 6. Istanbul Red Wolves The Storm and Red Wolves met in the S86 Wild Card Round, with Oslo coming out on top, two games to zero. Other than that, the two teams have not had much to do with one another. Oslo won the cup the season after Istanbul did, and in a way, “took over” for them as they rebuilt. Oslo finished last in S84 when Istanbul won it all; Istanbul finished last in S85 when Oslo did. Coincidence?? 5. Stockholm Vikings This rivalry immediately gains traction due to the distance between the cities. Only Vasteras is closer to Oslo than Stockholm is. The Vikings have never faced off against the Norwegian team in the postseason, but the two have had plenty of competitive contests over the last little while. What’s more, Oslo is currently sitting at first in the standings; Stockholm is third. What makes me put Stockholm here instead of Istanbul is the fact that these two teams are very similar this season, and we could see many close games in the future between them. 4. Rome Gladiators Coming in at four is the rivalry with the Gladiators of Rome. The franchise, of course, played Oslo in last season’s final. It was a hard fought battle on either side, with the Storm ultimately winning in seven. Besides that series, the two have retooled at the same time, and also competed during the same window. What’s also interesting is that while Oslo is the northernmost VHLE city, Rome is nearly the southernmost, second only to Istanbul. 3. Vasteras Iron Eagles This particular Swedish team is, geographically, the closest to Oslo. Not only that, but the pair played each other in the semi-finals in Season 85, in what was the Storm’s first playoff series ever. The Eagles made of Iron have the two most prolific scorers this season as well in former Storm forward Sebastien dokis and Adeline Delle Donne. With time, expect those two clubs to form a greater dislike for one another. 2. Bratislava Watchmen Although Bratislava has (somehow) never faced Oslo in the playoffs, it has made Oslo’s existence that much more stressful and intense, especially in S85 and S86. In both seasons, the Watchmen were right there at the end of the season. Honestly I don’t know if we beat them at all last season. They always made it tough and played a really stout defensive game. Needless to say, we were a bit lucky to not have to play them even more often. 1. Cologne Express Where do I start? Oslo and Cologne have met in each of the last two playoffs, and this season sit atop the VHLE in first and second place, respectively. The Storm defeated the Express in S85 to clinch their first championship. Last season, Cologne set a record for most points ever by a team in the regular season (120). The teams again met in the postseason, this time in the semi-finals. It was a close series as all matchups are between the two, with Oslo winning in six after all was said and done. This season, the two have quite literally traded turns being in first place. As we speak, each have 80 points, with Oslo having a single game in hand. I can’t wait to see how the rivalry progresses even further, and am so glad to be a part of it. I hope you all enjoyed reading, and be on the lookout for the continuation of one or more of these rivalries! Word Count: 777
  16. Answers 1. Sort of agree, NFL is a lot worse though with officiating and the pro bowl, etc. That being said this season the ASG was such a joke, it took a clear downward turn from previous years. 2. Overall pretty good, depends who he’s playing with. 3. Jamaica, only time I’ve been out of the US. Questions 1. Thoughts on the Chiefs winning another Super Bowl? 2. Who are the frontrunners this season for the Continental Cup, in your opinion? 3. Which would you prefer to eat for the rest of your life, pizza or pasta?
  17. Love it, huge thanks Frank!
  18. So sorry about what’s been happening, wishing you and your family all the best. And congrats on the engagement!
  19. 1. Not to sound silly here but did anyone expect us to start the season 12-0-1? What has been the biggest surprise been so far in the new season? Why? I thought the team would be good after winning the cup, but maybe not necessarily this good. The biggest surprise so far in the new season has been, in my opinion, the separation the team has created in the standings, including goal differential (+28). 2. Nezuko steps straight into the team and leads the wolves in points; was this expected when Nezuko first signed in Vancouver or did you expect them to take time building chemistry with their new line mates? Certainly Nezuko is a great player who was a fantastic add, to help replace Leduc. Nezuko is getting up there in age so it is, admittedly, a bit surprising to see how well they’re doing. 3. Is there any question around who our current MVP has been this season? Who do you think it is and why? Scoring is so close, everyone’s performing. Probably Fuhr with an unbelievable 5 shutouts in 25 games. 4. Our two rookies, Wann Kerr @VattghernCZ and Jens Lekman @Bobcat have now played a dozen games in the VHL; How would you rate them in the first dozen games? (Scale 1-10) I’d rate them a 6 probably, rookie seasons are always tough in the VHL. The potential is a 10 though, showing tremendous signs of growth, both of them. 5. What has been the most impress aspect of the current team record and is there anything you think could be improved? Just how dominant the team is all around. Offensively, defensively and in goal. That’s the thing, nothing can really be improved much. #Back2Back 6. Riddle: In Hockey, which players have the best apartments? Hmmm…let’s go with top scorers, but not using conventional wisdom (them being the wealthiest). They have the best apartments due to them finding their “home” on the ice time and time again, unlike their peers.
  20. It’s our long lost cousin @Alex @Spaz! Welcome!
