Congrats @leandrofg! I would say welcome to the E but…
  3. Congrats! You were always great to work with in the M
  4. I’ll apply
  5. I apply for both!
  6. I apply!
  7. 1. I'm not sure when the last time a team won a cup with a bot player being a starter. Do you think B-WAR D1 deserves to be on the banner? Interesting question, I see the argument that could be made for it. I’ll say no just for a sense of continuity and tradition. 2. We are heading into the off-season. What are you players plans during the break? Hitting free agency for the first time should be fun, then training for the new team and season. 3. Someone is forcing you eat a pop-tart, what flavor are you grabbing? Just looking at all the flavors now, cinnamon is probably the most enticing. 1. Way too early predictions for next season? Who wins the VHL, and/or VHLE/VHLM? 2. Is 13 truly the unluckiest number, or is there one that’s more unlucky, in your opinion? 3. Who is the best goalie in the NHL right now?
  8. Claim 2/2
  9. Good day/night Storm fans and the VHL community, right now we will be recognizing the positives of Season 84 for the Storm. Although we did not qualify for playoffs this season, next season is a clean slate, with some really promising prospects joining up, and some players via the draft. Before we start, I want to say congrats to the champions of the VHLE, the Istanbul Red Wolves (and former Oslo captain Cobalt Burns) as well as the Las Vegas Aces of the VHLM and the Warsaw Predators (and former Oslo goalie Wumbo) of the VHL. Time for awards to close out Season 84 in style! Season 84 Oslo Storm Awards Presentation 2nd seasonal show Wind Storm Award (Top Prospect(s)): This offseason Storm fans have several prospects to get excited about, but for the sake of this award we will name a maximum of three. First the candidates (all those over the VHLM cap of 200 TPE): LW Jon Webber Jr, Philadelphia Reapers: 49 G, 48 A, 97 P, 292 TPE C Todd Cooke, Houston Bulls: 43 G, 45 A, 88 P, 288 TPE C Lorenzo Cobberson, Mississauga Hounds: 38 G, 50 A, 88 P, 207 TPE C Akio Suzuki, Mississauga Hounds: 36 G, 30 A, 66 P, 236 TPE D Brodie Landry III, Halifax 21st: 16 G, 65 A, 81 P, 228 TPE This season we'll name three winners. Two were captain of their respective teams, and they all played integral roles in those teams' successes. I am stoked to have them play for Oslo next season, as I am for all the Oslo prospects, the winners are: Shower of Pucks Award (Most Goals): Oslo's leading goal scorer this season lit the lamp 38 times in 64 games since joining the team as a free agent. The winner of the Season 84 Shower of Pucks Award is: Sharing the Sun Award (Most Assists): As Oslo does not get nearly as much sunlight as some other places, it's vital to embrace the sun just like it is to embrace scoring chances. In a lot of cases, that means that players have to set up teammates instead of taking the shot themselves. This player did just that all season long here in Oslo, notching 57 assists. The award goes to: Striker Award (Top Point Producer): Just like Storms have lightning strikes, so too do the Storm. This player had 80 points this season. We wish them well in retirement. This season's top striker is: Shooting Star Award (Top Shooting Percentage): Scoring on 9.18% of their 414 shots, this player never failed to capitalize on scoring chances, high quality or not. The Shooting Star of Season 84 for the Oslo Storm is: Cool as an Oslo Day Award (Most Game-Winning Goals): An award being introduced this season, it goes to the player who came in clutch most often; time and time again. They scored six times to win a game for the Storm this season, not in any particular fashion. The first player to be cool as a day in Oslo is (have a guess based on the font color?): Thunder Award (Most Hits; Best Physical Presence): This player's physical part of their game paid dividends. Not only did they lead the team with 228 hits, they used it to score 25-29-54 totals. One would think the more the hits, the more the penalty minutes. However, although this player was 7th league-wide in PIM (110), there was a noticeable dropoff in that category from the top three. Anyways, this season's Thunder Award goes to: Umbrella Award (Top Defensive Performance): Similar to how umbrellas act as shields in storms, this player acted as one for the Storm this season. Blocking not only the most shots on Oslo and the most in the league (268), they actually set a record for most blocked ever in a single season in the VHLE. The previous record holder, Jannik Nylen, blocked 235 in Season 80 with the Bratislava Watchmen. This Storm player could always be counted on in the defensive zone (as well as the offensive). The winner is: Lightning Glove Award (Top Goalie): No surprises here, there is only one person this can go to, and deservedly so. With only one human defender, this goalie still won 23 games, posted a very solid .929 save percentage as well as a 3.04 GAA, and two shutouts, an Oslo single-season record. Looking forward to another season of them in net with more defensive help. The winner is: Eye of the Storm Award (MVP): Not only does on-ice play matter for this award, but off-ice activity as well as contribution to the league does too. This player meant a lot to the Storm organization this season, which was admittedly a rough campaign. They were positive in the locker room, did great on the ice, and even got an assistant general manager position with the Cologne Express. This season's Oslo Storm MVP is: 3 Stars of the Season Sam Tombstone (23 W, .929 SV%, 3.04 GAA, 2 SO) Nicholas Blue (25 G, 29 A, 54 P) Chip Stone (15 G, 23 A, 38 P)* *Stone played 55 games before being traded at the deadline to Cologne. Thanks to all of you for your efforts this season; I'm looking forward to a fun-filled Season 85 when we shall (hopefully) emerge from our retool! And anyone, feel free to drop in to the Oslo locker room whenever, if you need a link just ask! I'd like to set some times up for games, like trivia and such, but we don't need those of course to get a game going. See you next season for the Season 85 Awards, and it'll be interesting to see what the future holds! Word Count: 1030

  16. Oslo Storm Press Conference Week Ending Sunday, 7/31/22 Answer 3 for 1 TPE, all 6 for 2! 1. What is your favorite cuisine before a game in Oslo? 2. What are you excited for next season? 3. Thoughts on this season’s trade deadline? We traded Chip Stone to Cologne as our only deal. 4. Thoughts on NHL free agency? Best signing? Worst? 5. I recently saw someone’s ranking of months; what is your favorite? Least favorite? 6. What could be added to our locker room, in your opinion? #LetsGoStorm
  17. This past Monday was probably the biggest trade deadline for me so far, not only because Oslo made a deal with three minutes to go but also because my player, Nathan Powers, was traded with less than a minute to go. Starting off from the management side of things, this season hasn’t been too great for the Storm, who are (hopefully) in the final season of their rebuild. This season was different from past seasons since there were no clear-cut players to trade at the deadline, as several are likely to return and play important roles in Season 85. However, in the end, forward Chip Stone ended up being dealt to Cologne for Cooper Skambraks, a 4th, and a conditional 4th and 5th. At the very least Skambraks serves as a short term replacement while the 4th can be used to find a long term replacement for Stone, since they were drafted in that same round a season ago. I’m excited for the offseason with a lot more draft picks than prior seasons as well as some promising prospects making the jump to Norway. Next season should see the Oslo locker room full as well as the roster, which has largely not been the case during the rebuild, unfortunately. Fortunately, it appears as though that same rebuild is meeting its end! From a player standpoint, it was interesting to move teams again for the second time in a season, after playing five seasons in Prague. Not only that, but the magnitude of the entire deal and when it was agreed to: 3 PM on Monday. I’m hoping Powers can get back to where he was offensively pre-hybrid attributes. New York is currently fourteen points out of the final playoff spot in the North American Conference, which Calgary holds. We shall see if the Americans can make a run down the stretch for that spot. Another reason why I’m looking forward to the offseason is because Powers is hitting free agency for the first time, with one season remaining until he retires. I’ve always wanted to win the Continental Cup, especially after winning the Founder’s Cup in Season 78. Maybe since that was my last season in the VHLM, and this upcoming one is my last in the VHL, I’ll win it? The closest I’ve come was the second round with the Phantoms. Needless to say the decision this offseason will be both fun and vital to my chance at a cup. Lots to look forward to in the VHL, it’s crazy that my first career is coming to an end. It seems like just yesterday when I created my player. Speaking of, another thing I have to start thinking about is a recreate name and where I’ll sign in my second go-around in the minors. But that’s still a ways away, considering I should be thinking about where to sign next season and who to draft/what moves to make to get Oslo into a contending spot, and ideally, capture its first Renaissance Cup! COL/OSL; S84

Thanks @BarzalGoat for the talks and good luck! You can like to confirm the conditions. @DoktorFunk was great having you on the Storm, good luck and have fun in Cologne!

    COL/OSL; S84

Conditions - Oslo receives S86 COL 5th if the draft goes to the 5th round and Cologne makes the finals in either S84 or S85. - Oslo receives S86 COL 4th if Cologne wins the Cup in either S84 or S85.
  20. Glad you’re back and doing well, congrats on everything!!
  21. 1. How are you finding the phone app for the VHL? It’s a cool thing to have for sure, but I’ve continued to use the browser version for the most part as it is easier on a laptop. 2. Do you think any players on Riga can win any awards this season? Miklavz, Johnston and Cheese have been tearing it up, definitely in the running for Szatkowski, Campbell, Slobo and in the case of Cheese, Labatte. 3. Riga is currently third in the conference, is this what you expected heading into the season? Now that we have a fourth defender we can climb for sure, we are in a playoff spot though so where I expected we’d be. 4. If Riga were to have a mascot, what would its name be? Larry the Lion? 5. NHL Free Agency is this week, where will the following players end up? Half are already decided, but the other three I’ll do: a) Darcy Kuemper - WSH b) Evgeny Malkin - PIT c) Jack Campbell - EDM d) PK Subban - DAL e) Phil Kessel - NYI f) John Klingberg - WPG 6. On top of the NHL Free Agents, there are also trade candidates - where will the following end up? a) John Gibson - PIT or STL? b) Cam Talbot - OTT c) Matt Murray - TOR d) Jesse Puljujarvi - CBJ e) Patrick Kane - NYR
  22. I’ll apply!
  23. Review: This graphic is great, logo doesn’t look out of place at all. The blue glow/shadow is cool and the font choices are spot on, clean, and make the graphic stand out. Lastly the background works well by adding to the graphic while not taking away from the central image, your player. Well done, 10/10.
  24. 1. Do you have a favorite president - of the U.S. or anywhere else? Why? Lincoln, paved the way for important change and made arguably the biggest impact out of the U.S. presidents. 2. What is the hardest part of hockey? Probably goalie, so many high end players taking fast, hard shots at you throughout a game. 3. Will the Devils make the playoffs by 2025? I think so, they have a solid young core up front with Hischier, Jack Hughes, Bratt, and others. Then on the back end Luke Hughes soon as well as Nemec. Blackwood can be good as long as he stays healthy. 1. What NHL team is in the best position going into FA? 2. What NHL team has the strongest prospect pool? 3. Who is winning the race for VHL rookie of the year, in your opinion?
