  3. Welcome everyone, The season has been over for a while now and the playoffs ended last week, so we now entered the off-season. In this tenth episode of « The Bobs legacy, the sequel », we are going to talk about the end of the playoffs, the off-season and the future of Bobby Bob and the Toronto Legion. In the playoffs, the Rome Gladiators won the wild card series against the Istanbul Red Wolves 2-1 and then they won the semi-final against the Yukon Rush 4-2 to earn their ticket to the final of the Renaissance Cup. In the other semi-final, the Oslo Storm won the series 4-3 against the Cologne Express to join the Rome Gladiators in the final. The final did not end the same way the semi-final ended for the Gladiators, because they lost the first three games of the series, 4-2, 6-1 and 4-1. A couple of speeches and lines changes motivated the Rome Gladiators, and they won the next two games 7-4 and 4-1, but the Storm won the next game 4-3 to win the VHLE playoffs and the Renaissance Cup. After having a really good regular season, Bobby Bob wanted to have the same success in the playoffs. Just like in the regular season, he finished first in points among the defensemen and first in shots blocked in the entire league. He also finished fifth in the league for the number of points with 14 and third in the league in assists with 12. Bobby Bob showed that he was a dominant defenseman all season long and we may even hear his name in the VHLE awards, but his career in the VHLE is already over. It means that Bob will start his career in the VHL next season with the Toronto Legion. The Legion is a really young team that is getting out of rebuilding and that will try to make the playoffs for the first time since S84. They already have some rising starts on their roster and the future is looking bright in Toronto with forwards like Mac Atlas @v.2 and Jimi Jaks @kelvi, defensemen like Bobby Bob, Tater Tottingham @Trunkxolotl and Jimmy MacElroy @Xflexz and a goalie like Joel Castle. The Toronto Legion also have a good prospect pool with players like Alexander Stroheim @Stroheim and Timothy Swearingen @Timmy30 and goalies like Ross Glagau @Zetterberg and Evan Bihler @Eb14. In addition, the S89 VHL entry draft just ended, and the Toronto Legion had 7 draft picks (one 1st, three 2nd, two 3rd and one 4th) and they now have an even better prospect pool. In the first round, they selected the forward Montgomery Burns @LastOneUp 3rd overall. In the second round, they drafted Harry Callahan @dstevensonjr, Reginald the Dodo @Esso2264 and Scored SVN Goals in a VHL Game @KitRas. In the third round, Diego Machado @Dadam30 and Caring Bear @thecaringbear were the two players drafted by the Legion. Finally, Andrei Vasilevskiy @Grady loooool was the last player selected by Toronto in the fourth round. Overall, it was a really good draft, and the team management seems really happy with their selections.

  10. YEAH, my country! And we are playing in my home town let's goo!
  11. Welcome everyone, The season is over and the playoffs ended a couple of days ago when the Oslo Storm won the sixth game of the Renaissence Cup final against the Rome Gladiators. After winning the previous round in six games against the Yukon Rush, the Rome Gladiators did not start the final like they should have and the Oslo Storm won the first three games 4-2, 6-1 and 4-1. If the Rome Gladiators wanted to win the Cup, they had to win the next four games of the series. The coach changed the lines for the Rome Gladiators and it worked, because they won the next two games 7-4 and 4-1, but Oslo decided that it was enough and closed the series in game six by winning the game 4-3. In this series, Bjork @JardyB10 was again the best player by scoring 6 goals and adding 2 assists for a total of 8 points in 6 games and the defensemen Mark Calaway @Beketov also played an incredible final with 8 points (2g, 6a) in 6 games. Thanks everyone for reading, see you next week and let's gooo GLADIATORS!!!!
  12. The Rome Gladiators offer a one season contract extension to Matthew McCagg. @Jack kidd, you just have to answer and accept.
  13. Thank you, and congratulation on your third Cup!
  14. IS THE VHLE GOOD OR BAD? Welcome everyone, As some of you may know, I am GM in the VHLE since S83 and I was also AGM for S81 and S82. So, in this article I will give you my opinion on my experience in the VHLE as a player and as a GM. First, I would like to talk about the logos and the location of the teams. I don’t think I am the first one to say this, but the logos in the VHLE are really beautiful and well done. Indeed, the colour and the shape of the logos are really good. For the location, I think it is really nice that they chose location all over Europe and cities in countries where hockey is not super popular. Second, I like the idea of the VHLE in general, a league between the minor and the big league, a league where the players that are too good for the VHLM, but not good enough for the VHL can score more than 9 points in a season. Plus, I think it is an occasion for everyone to play for more teams in their career and not play for the same team for 8 seasons, which could become monotonous for some people. Third, I don’t think we can talk about the VHLE without talking about the inactive players. Even if I like the VHLE, the lack of active players is really killing the league. It is almost impossible to have a team who has more active player than inactive player. The final of the VHLE is currently underway and the Rome Gladiators only have 7 active players out of their 13 players and the Oslo Storm have 8 active players out of their 14 players. For both team this is only a little bit more than 50%. Finally, I really liked my experience in the VHLE this season and I recommend to everyone to play at least one season in this league. This season the competition was very good and almost every team had a chance to win at the beginning of the season. I know that the league should try to do something about the lack of activity in the league and the number of active players, but overall, I really like the league. Indeed, the people that are managing it are really nice and if you stay active you will have a lot of ice time.
  15. 3. It is Olso's fourth final in a row, so anything is possible with this team, but I believe that we can win this series in 6 or 7 games. 4. My player already has more than 500 TPE, so I will obviously play in the VHL next season and possibly with the Toronto Legion. 6. All four teams left can win the cup, so I don't know, but in my opinion Calgary has the team to surprise and upset a lot of people.
  16. Welcome everyone, After the wildcard round, it was time for the Rome Gladiators to face the champion of the regular season, Geneva Rush, in the semi-final of the playoffs. The Gladiators started the series in force by winning the first two games 8-2 and 3-0. The series went to Rome and each team won a game. The Geneva Rush won the first one 3-2 and the Rome Gladiators the second one 4-2. Geneva had to win the three games remaning if they wanted to pass this round. The fifth game was in Geneva and the Rush won 2-1 to stay alive, but Rome won game six 3-2 at home to win the series and advance to the final of the Renaissance Cup. Again in this series, BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10 and McCagg @Jack kidd were two really important players. In the other semi-final, the Oslo Storm beat the Cologne express in seven games and are going to be the opponent of the Rome Gladiators in the final of the Renaissance Cup. Thanks everyone for reading, see you next week and let's gooo GLADIATORS!!!!
  17. 2. I am pretty sure that if we score more goals than them we will beat them, but seriously if we play as team we will beat them. 4. I am expecting nothing less than 15. 5. I hope the Stars will beat the Knights, because I don't like the Knights. In the other series, I know the Panthers are having some really good playoffs, but in my opinion the Hurricanes are too good. So, in the final it will be Hurricanes vs Stars and the Hurricanes will win in 6.
  18. Welcome everyone, The playoffs are underway in the VHLE and the wildcard round is already over. In this round, The Rome Gladiators were facing the Istanbul Red Wolves and the battle was very tight as all the games ended by only one or two goals. In the first game of the series, The Red Menace @NickSunderbruch saved 36 of the 38 shots he faced and helped Istanbul won the first game 3-2. The series was a best of 3, so Rome had to win the next two games if they wanted to continue. They won the second game 4-3 and BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10 scored a hat-trick in a little more than 10 minutes in the second period and added an assist on Juline Bernier's @Julien_Bernier winning goal in the third period. In the last game of the series, the Rome Gladiators won the game 5-3 to advance to the next round. BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson had another incredible game with four points (1g, 3a). Thanks everyone for reading, see you next week and let's gooo GLADIATORS!!!!
  19. Welcome everyone, I know it has been a while since the last episode, but I am back. In this ninth episode of « The Bobs legacy, the sequel », we are going to talk about the season of the Rome Gladiators and Bobby Bob. Now that the regular season is over and the playoffs are already underway, I can maybe even make my predictions for the S88 VHLE playoffs. The regular season started slowly for the Rome Gladiators, but after a couple of days the team started to play way better and until a little before the trade deadline, Rome was one of the best teams in the league. However, the GM of the Gladiators made a trade with the Istanbul Red Wolves, sending the first-round pick of the Rome Gladiators in S89 for the defenseman Mark Calaway @Beketov and after this trade, the team was never the same again. Indeed, Rome lost 17 of their 18 games following the trade and were close to miss the playoffs, but they won 5 of the last 6 games of the regular season and finished 4th in the standings with a record of 36 wins, 26 losses and 10 losses in overtime. When I ask the GM of the Gladiators if he was still happy with the last trade he made, he answered me that even if Calaway had some difficulties in the regular season, he showed in the last couple of games why we gave a lot for him. He also said that he is confident that Calaway is going to be an important player if the Gladiators want to win the Cup. Just like the team, Bobby Bob had some ups and downs this season, but overall, he really had a great season. Indeed, he finished the season with 19 goals, 65 assists and 84 points in 72 games and with these stats, Bob is 7th in the league for the number of points, 1st among the defensemen and 3rd for the number of assists. He is also 1st in the shots blocked category with 240 and more than 50 more than the second in the league. In addition, Bobby Bob finished the season with 12 power play goals and is ranked 2nd in the league in this category. Even if Bobby Bob has much less points than last season, he really improved his defensive play and went from 124 shots blocked to 240. The playoffs in the VHLE are already underway, but it is still time to make my predictions. The series between the Rome Gladiators and the Istanbul Red Wolves for the 4th place in the standings is equal 1-1. The Rome Gladiators are going to win this series and they are going to face the Geneva Rush in the semi-final. The Gladiators are going to win in 6 games this series and are going to face the Cologne Express in the final. The Express won their semi-final in 6 games too. In the final, the Rome Gladiators are going to win the series in 7 games.
  20. Welcome everyone, The season in the VHLE is officially over and I can proudly say that the Rome Gladiators are going to be a part of the S88 VHLE playoffs. A little bit before the trade deadline, the team really slowed down and only won one game in their next 18 games. However, the Gladiators finished strong and won 5 of their last 6 games and finished the season with a record of 36 wins, 26 losses and 10 overtime losses for a total of 82 points in 72 games. With this record, Rome finished 4th in the standings and they will face the Istanbul Red Wolves in a best of 3 series to know who will play against the Geneva Rush in the semi-final. In 12 games in the regular season against Istanbul, Rome won 5 of them, lost 6 in regulation and lost the other one in overtime. Against Geneva, the team won 4 of the 10 games the team played against each other. The Rome Gladiators finished the regular season with a couple of win, so I am confident that they will start the playoffs the way they finished the regular season. Thanks everyone for reading, see you next week and let's gooo GLADIATORS!!!!
  21. Recap game #417 The game was between the first team in the league, the Prague Phantoms, and the last team in the league, the D.C. Dragons. With no surprise, the Phantom won the game with a score of 8-1. The number of shots also shows the domination of the Phantoms as they were 54-18 in favor of Prague. All the players on Prague's roster had at least a point and five of them had at least 3 points including Perry Laperriere who finished the game with one goal and three assists for a total of 4 points.
  22. 1. I don't really know Peace, but I wish him the best of luck in Vancouver and maybe even win a Cup with the Wolves. 2. I am really happy with my offensive play this season, but I really wish to improve my game in our own zone. 3. I hope maybe 30. 4. Mac Atlas and Joel Castle are both doing really well. 5. He is already in the top 5, but I believe in can crack the top 3 if he continues playing like he does. 6. Roope Hintz, because he is not a player that everyone knows, but he is currently leading the league in points with 12 in 6 games.
  23. Welcome everyone, This week is theme week, and the theme is Retro. In this media spot I will name the best goalie of each season between S70 and S74. I will select the best goalie per draft class. S70 – Jacques Lafontaine @SlapshotBear Without further a due, the best goalie of the S70 draft class is Jacques Lafontaine. Lafontaine played his entire career with the Calgary Wranglers from S70 to S76. He played 382 games for a record of 220 wins, 128 losses and 34 losses in overtime. He finished his career with a save percentage of 0.919% and an average of goals against of 2.58. Jacques won the Greg Clegane Trophy, awarded to the goalie with the lowest GAA, in S72 and S73. I also wanted to give an honorable mention to Jaxx Hextall @ROOKIE745. S71 – Stone Wolski @DollarAndADream In the S71, the choice is a little bit easier since Stone Wolski is pretty much the only goalie that became a starter of this draft class. He played 478 games with the D.C. Dragons between S71 and S78 and won 232 games. His best season was without a doubt S75, because he won 4 trophies, the Greg Clegane Trophy, the Brett Slobodzian Trophy, the Aidan Shaw Trophy, and the Dustin Funk Trophy. S72 – Zamboni Driver @Tape-to-Tape Just like for the S71 draft class, there is only one goalie that was a starter for his entire career, and his name is Zamboni Driver. Driver played his first six seasons in the VHL with the Helsinki Titans from S73 to S78 and he finished his career with the Riga Reign in S79. He even won the Greg Clegane Trophy in S79 with Riga. Throughout his career, Zamboni Driver won 220 of the 406 games he played. S73 – Jean Pierre Camus and Jacob Tonn @solas @MexicanCow123 I know I said I would choose only one goalie per draft class, but I could not decide between the two of them. Camus played from S73 to S80 with the Chicago Phoenix and won the Continental Cup with them in S76. In S78 and S80, he won the Aidan Shaw Trophy and in S80 Camus also won the Brett Slobodzian Trophy and the Greg Clegane Trophy. Tonn played for the Seattle Bears, the Moscow Menace and the London United during his six seasons career. He won the Continental Cup in his first season with the Bears in S73. In S76, he won the Aidan Shaw Trophy, and he finished his career by winning three consecutive Greg Clegane Trophy in S76, S77 and S78. S74 – Markus Emerson Jr @Xflexz The S74 draft class was for sure the most difficult to decide, but my choice is Markus Emerson Jr. Emerson Jr played all his 230 games with the Vancouver Wolves between S76 and S80 and won 128 of them. In S80, he had the best season of his career and led his team to the Continental Cup. Honorable mention to Doug Dimmadome @Esso2264 and Vsevolod Askarov @Gooningitup. Thanks everyone for reading and just a reminder that this is my opinion, so you don’t have to agree. However, if you don’t agree with me, then you are wrong, sorry.
  24. Thanks @Masu Chan for the trade talks and welcome @Beketov, we are really happy to have you on the team!!!
