  3. The first few sims have come and gone and the Stars have come out firing . Currently sitting 2 points back of Seattle for first place with a record of 5 wins and 2 loses . They are tied with three other teams in the NA for second in goals scored with 24 , This team was built to Score goals and play an up tempo offensive style of hockey . On the Backend they’ve been solid too with newcomer Jens Lekman sitting third on the team in scoring with 9 points . Leading the way up front are veterans Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems and Todd Cooke who were just named as Captain and Assistant Capitain along with Dabnad Shaw . this team is hungry and it looks like they will compete with the other top teams in the NA to see who can come out on top and win a continental cup this season . After multiple years of heartache and upsets is this finally the year the Stars go all the way ? I know I sure hope so !
  4. 1. It’s too early to tell I believe a lot will change by the time the season is over , but Miglaskems is off to a hot start 2. it’s really hard to say the top of the NA conference is really good and not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon 3. Season 86 my rookie season , it was just a season to forget as a whole ! 4. Seeing as I’m an AGM in the E , and I played one season there I do think it’s beneficial for players to gain TPE and come to the VHL over the cutoff 5. I’m gonna have to say Kelowna BC . Always a good time whenever I’ve been there 6. Haven’t really ever listened to them much , nor do I honestly remember any of their songs
  5. @FrostBeard We’re gonna win it for ya this season !

  7. Definitely makes the E more then just a one or two season pit stop if this was put in place

  9. Coming off their third Renaissance Cup in the past 4 seasons the Oslo Storm are wrapping up one of their strongest off seasons in recent memory . They look to be poised to be competitive yet again in Season 89 . Let’s take a look at what their lineup will look like and what their strengths will be coming into this next season. As always well start with the forward core , this season they have a very strong looking group with a good mix of Veterans and Rookies looking to make an impact ! Timothy Swearingen ( @Timmy30 ) Swearingen comes to Oslo via free agency after a successful rookie season in Stockholm . Joining the Veteran group of this team Swearingen will look to provide offence up front and some solid defensive zone contributions aswell . Jim Benning Jr ( @Jim Benning ) Benning joins Oslo as a rookie FA signing and will look to provide some spark and youthful enthusiasm to the group . It will be interesting to see how this rookie progresses as the season goes on ! Zechariah Leferve ( @Zechariah ) Another rookie from Oslo’s S87 draft class looks to make his long awaited VHLE debut with the storm this season, after absolutely lighting up the VHLM with 94 points in his last season. Leferve definitely has potential to translate that success to the E let’s see if he can ! Grizz Tazzo ( @xslapxshotsx ) The rough and tumbled energy winger provided a lot of spark and energy to the Storm last season and will look to do the same this season while trying to improve his offensive numbers ! This could be a breakout season for Tazzo forsure ! Alexander Stroheim ( @Stroheim ) Oslo’s HUGE trade deadline acquisition paid off big in the playoffs last season , leading the storm in playoff scoring . Stroheim will be counted on to lead Oslo’s Forward core and provide offence all season long . Based on his season last year there’s no reason he can’t do that at more ! Breaden Panarella ( @ThatCasual ) Another exciting forward from last seasons team returns to Oslo in S89 Panarella is a small speedy offensive guy that can be counted on in all situations. He shoots the puck like no other . And hits like a freight train look for him to have a productive season ! Keno Akara ( @Keno ) Oslo’s longest tenured player will be relied upon to lead the team night in and night out ! Keno has always been a productive player for the storm . And should be just that again this season. Noel Roux Jr ( @Da Trifecta ) Another promising rookie forward joining the Storm this season , it will be very interesting to see if he can translate the offensive game he played in the M to the E this coming season ! The Storm have a very good forward group coming into S89 . One thing is forsure they won’t have any issues scoring goals ! Lets take a look at the defence core now ! Admir Bala ( @Tyler) Returning to Oslo after an outstanding season last year Bala looks to be a lock on the top defensive pairing and will try to top his offensive numbers from last season, while playing defensively stout in his own end. Roy Krishna ( @aleks ) The long time VHLM defender will look to bring a strong two way game to Oslo in this his rookie season . We’ll see how his game transfers over to the European league. Winston Dixon Jr ( @Rjdixon01 ) Another returnee from last season Dixon brings a hard hitting 2 way game to the table for Oslo , look for him to be determined to up his scoring on the offensive side of his game this year. Jack Jeckler ( @Uncommon ) Acquired on Draft day In a blockbuster trade With Geneva . Jeckler comes to Oslo to solidify his status as a number 1 defenceman in the E this year . He will play in all situations hopefully having a big year for Oslo . Jarno Lappi ( @aksuko ) The longtime VHLE Veteran rounds out Oslo’s d core and will bring some much needed experience to the team . Lappi can play anywhere in the lineup and will no doubt be a valued player as this season goes on! Overall Oslo has a strong d core that’s capable of shutting other teams down while contributing on the offensive side of things aswell ! Goalies this year for the first time in a few seasons Oslo has not 1 but 2 quality Goalies that will be competing with eachother for starts . Nothing better then some healthy competition between teammates! Olivier Gauthier ( @fonziGG ) Drafted by oslo in S88 Gauthier makes his long awaited debut for the storm , he’s proven to be a quality clutch Goalie capable of outright stealing games for his team . It’ll be interesting to see how he does in his first season in Europe. Ross Glagau ( @Zetterberg ) The second piece coming back to Oslo in the aforementioned draft day blockbuster Glagua will also be making his VHLE debut this season to round out Oslo’s exciting goalie tandem ! Overall this Oslo team has no real weaknesses that stick out . They can beat you defensively, offensively, or they have 2 goalies that can steal games by themselves. Definitely on the right track to repeating as Renaissance Champs in S89
  10. After a breakout season where he was nominated for the funk trophy for most improved player. Todd Cooke is looking to take the next step and establish himself as a real top player in the VHL this season ! Cooke is coming off a gold medal win in the S88 World Cup with team Canada where he had a stellar showing with the team ! He hopes to carry that momentum into S89 and compete for the goal scoring and Point Scoring lead this season. There were times throughout last season where Cooke was among the top players in both Goals and Points , Ultimately he jus couldn’t maintain that level of consistency and fell just outta the top 10 in both categories. This season he will look to maintain that consistency and compete for the top spot in those categories, while trying to help LA overcome their playoff demons from the last couple seasons. S89 is shaping up to be an exciting one stay tuned folks !
  11. 1. We have a good mix of youth joining our core and veteran group this season. 2. This was one of our best drafts in recent memory bringing us multiple quality prospects ! 3. I hope so ! The bots haven’t been very kind in recent memory 4. I’m hoping for another career year for Cooke , I’d like to compete for the scoring title . 5. Same routine every game before I head out on the ice I get dressed the same way every game , drink a green monster before pre game warm up and again before the puck drop. In warm up I have to hit both posts and the crossbar with my first three shots . That’s really it for rituals 6. pre game I eat fettuccini Alfredo or chicken and pasta before every game usually some days I change it up or skip the pre game meal but that’s not very often
  12. Completely agree with all of these statements. Scouting and effort is important to any team at any level . In my personal experience as a first gen player I only wanted to play with teams that took the time to scout me and show interest in not only drafting my player but helping me develop that same player. but at the same time I can probably count on one hand the amount of VHL/E/M teams that reached out and genuinely showed some type of interest. it’s been said before aswell early picks can bomb and completely flop and vice versa with the later picks ( my player is an example of this ) I was a later pick and am one of the higher TPE earners within my draft class . I guess all I’m trying to say is why wouldn’t you take the time to scout it benefits you and your team if you take the time to do it and do your job . As well as creates and promotes an exciting culture for players to be involved and excited come draft time !
  13. Recently Todd Cooke was named to team Canada for the S88 World Cup , accomplishing a goal he set out for himself in his rookie VHL season. “this is the stuff you dream of as a kid wearing the maple leaf and representing Canada has been a dream and goal of mine for as long as I can remember!” Cooke joins a powerhouse forward core and will look to bring the same type of production he closed S88 out with with the LA Stars. Cooke’s young he’s driven and he plays hard every shift , he will work hard to show management they made the right decision when they put him on this team ! Overall Team Canada is shaping up to be a very good team that could very well go all the way and win a gold medal . They are strong at every position and have a good mix of youth and experience as well as an experienced GM in @Baby Boomer. Cooke was very persistent saying he just wanted to do whatever it took to help bring a gold medal back to the great white north !

  16. Well the time has come and the S88 World Cup is getting underway with teams being named I’ve the next few days . Let’s take a look at Team Canada. we’ll start off with the Forward group they will be running with . Molly The Cat Coming off a solid season in London where the United win the Continental Cup , Molly will look to build off that and help Canada in their quest to win a Gold medal . Molly is a top player in the VHL and a very respected member of the community look out for him to have a big Tournament in what is his first kick at the cat on the World Cup stage. Brendan Marner The long time Veteran finished his final VHL season 2nd in goals and points overall . This will be Marners 3rd time wearing the maple leaf . Marner will be looked at to lead the forward core this year and relied upon as a leader in the locker room . Marner is a big time power forward and a big time player hungry to go out on top with a gold medal ! Hulk Hogan 2 Hogan is another Veteran returning for his 3rd World Cup , the Big forward will be counted on to set the tone physically along with setting the offensive tone , Like Marner Hogan is looking to finish his third tournament on top with a Gold medal. Alexandre Leduc The ever elusive Leduc is looking to provide speed and spark , Leduc is part of the group returning for their 3rd World Cup . The speedy winger will be a valuable asset up front for the Canadian team . Mason Jones Jones is making his World Cup debut after years of just missing the cut . You can bet he’s looking to prove that the management made the right choice in giving him a chance to wear the maple leaf before he retires. Todd Cooke The young Forward is looking to continue his climb and ascent to establish himself as an elite forward . Cooke has worked towards playing in this tournament since his rookie season . Cooke joins a VERY talented Forward group and is coming off a career best season with the LA Stars . This forward group is among the best in the Tournament and is sure to be high powered. Any line combinations they choose to run will be offensively gifted and physical . let’s look at the Defence now ! Pierre Emile Bouchard Bouchard is one of the Best defenders of not the best defender in the VHL and will be a huge contributor and leader on the back end for team Canada. This will be his second time representing team Canada in this tournament. AirRig GoodBrandSon The Veteran defenceman will join Bouchard on Canadas top pair and provide a two way presence much like Bouchard. GoodBrandSon is a very good Puck Mover like Bouchard these 2 well be relied upon as the only returning defenders on the team . Doug Matchett Matchett gets the call on the backend as well. Matchett is a long time Veteran in the VHL and is playing in his 1st World Cup . The smaller speedy defender will bring a good 2 way defensive game to the table and look to make a positive impact to help the team on their journey to try to win a gold medal. Rex Wolfe Gregor Rex is the youngest member of team Canada and will look to bring that youthful enthusiasm to the team. After setting career highs in his Sophmore season with Malmo he will take this tournament as an opportunity to build on that as well as establish himself as a real up and comer in years to come . The D core is very veteran heavy with a sprinkle of youth , I believe that youth and enthusiasm will separate Canadas defence from other teams ! Last but not least the Goalies Brandt Fuhr Fuhr is first on our returning goalie tandem this year . He will carry the bulk of the load as the 1A option . Fuhr has big game experience and will have to bring that into the tournament for team Canada . He’s been successful in the VHL can that transfer to the World stage ? Augustus Kennedy The second Goalie in this Tandem and returning duo. Kennedy is just looking for the chance to breakthrough and really establish himself and take that next step as a goalie. He’s always been steady in the crease but this tournament is where we could see him take the next step and start to separate himself from all the other tendies in the league. Overall Both of these Goalies give Canada a chance to win every game and the team can be comfortable going into any game . Team Canada overall is built to win this tournament they are strong at every position . And have no real weaknesses all around , this team is exciting they can skate they can hit they can score . This team will be exciting and a team to watch in the World Cup this season .
