  6. Swiss Central Gazzette (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) The Redcross native brothers played four games a piece since last we reported from them. Please find summaries of the respective matches here below: Marcel's @Morcar80 21st faced the Aces first. This match was very tight, yet still a loss for Halifax with a final score of 4-3. The Nova Scotians opened the score 6:20 minutes into the game when Von Strangle @Timmy Turner(Warrior, Hagel) scored his tenth of the season. Before the intermission, Vegas was able to tie the game in power play. In the middle period Crumb's @Crummer77(leclerc, AL) goal was bracketed by two Aces goals. In the final period it was McMuffin @Ente2997(Leblanc) who found the back of the net, however the Nevadans answered with a goal of theirs for the final score. The three stars were Skambraks @CSkams15 (2g/1a), Galvins @Girts (1g/1a) and AL @bigAL (0g/1a). McGleis @lukechezzwoo (.892) kept his team in the game while Price's @Thunderidge (.875) average performance was enough for his team to win the game. The Halifax's special teams cost the squad a well deserved point and maybe even two as neither penalty kill (1/2) nor power play (0/5) were up for the task. Marcel was recorded with 0g, 0a, -1 and 26:46 TOI (second most of the team) The next match was against Mexico City and again was lost with the smallest of margins, this time 3-2. The Kings were first on the board and held onto that lead until the first intermission. In the second period the 21st scored a brace by Warrior @KnightRiley (Hagel, Von Strangle) and Door (AL, Crumb). The former was traded in the interim to Saskatoon in exchange for a 1st round pick in S83, the latter is a new acquisition from the Aces in exchange for Rockwell. In the third the Kings delivered the deathblow with an early goal, which Halifax was unable to reply to. Lambert @Minoulambert23 (2g/0a), Tanky @Franki026 (0g/2a) and AL (0g/1a) were named three stars of the night. The netminders duelled on an adequate level with Tsezar @comrade cat (.913) having the edge over McGleis (.842). The 21st's box play was perfect (2/2), their power play was not (0/2). Marcel had 0g, 0a, -1 and 24:46 TOI (second most of his team) The third game was the rematch against Mexico with the same result: 3-2 for the Kings. Halifax scored their two goals by Von Strangle (Janser, Warrior) and Crumb (Logue, Von Strangle) early in the game, but unfortunately could not keep up the pace. They allowed three unanswered goals and had to concede the game accordingly. The three stars were Accardi @LRJA (2g/0a), Von Strangle (1g/1a) and Lambert (0g/1a). Tsezar (.846) had the slightly lower saving rate as newly acquired Wumbo @Fire Vigneault (.864) in Halifax' net. Wumbo was acquired in a trade together with a 2nd and a 6th round pick in S83 in exchange for Zininger @ScoreAGoalBudEh and Leblanc @Horcrux. Marcel was credited with 0g, 1a, +0 and 26:44 TOI (second only to AL) Marcel's final encounter for this issue was against Saskatoon and ended in a 4-2 loss. Hagel @jasplunds (AL, McMuffin) put his colours in front during a power play. Alas, the Wild equalized the game before the first horn. The second period also ended with a 1-1 draw with AL (Logue) scoring in the final seconds of that period. While, this was all of Halifax' contribution on the score board, Saskatoon was not done scoring yet and found the back of the net another two times in the third period. Jackson @Slick (1g/1a), Johnson @MrMonkey (2g/0a) and Buffy @Strider (0g/2a) made it onto the podium for this match. Wumbo (.846) lost the tending competition against Saucey @ToooSaucey(.900). The 21st's power play was good (1/3) their penalty kill still had room for improvement (4/6). Marcel recorded 0g, 0a, +0, 2sb and 27:13 TOI (most of his team) Daniel's Storm played their first match against Cologne and won 5-2. Pandora @PandaBearD25(3rd, Puhovs) scored in power play to open the proceedings. This was the sole goal of the first period. Nezuko (Pandora, Knale) scored early in the second, an other power play goal. However, the Express scored two back-to-back goals to even the score. Janser (3rd, Pandora) with the game winner and a beautiful deke followed by a backhand topshelf goal, Nezuko (Sprout, Upton) and again the Japanese (Sprout) with his third of the game put the nail in Cologne's coffin. The three stars were Nezuko (3g/0a), Pandora (1g/2a) and Karjalainen (1g/1a). Fletcher @DragonFire420 (.964) dominated Protagonist @Jericho(.808) by a country mile. The Storm's power play was decent (2/6) and their box play impeccable (6/6). Daniel was logged with 1g, 0a, +1 and 5 hits In the second game, Cologne was in for vengeance and steam railed (pun intended) the Norvegian team with a total score of 8-3. 3rd @Jeffie43 (Janser, Puhovs) in power play, Puhovs (Janser, Nezuko) in an other power play and Sprout (Nezuko, Upton) found the twine for the Storm. Martin @Craig (2g/1a), Meridius @Beaviss (2g/1a) and Pete @PistolP (1g/2a) were in the lime light for this match. Both Storm goalies were fielded and neither of them (.692 and .857 saving rate) were exactly stellar while Fleury @Kuba-Fleury put up a show (.921). Oslo's power play was good (2/6) and their box play acceptable (3/4). Daniel had 0g, 2a, -3 and 2 PIM (Hooking, lead to a goal against) The third game for the elder Janser brother was against Rome and it was a tire fire and a half, as Oslo lost 10-1. The only goal for Storm was netted by 3rd (Janser, Puhovs), 4 minutes into the third, when Rome was leading 7-0 already. The three stars were Mashford @Mashy (3g/3a), Jugs @NerdyCowz (4g/1a) and Steel @tylerwest (3g/0a). Both Storm goalies did what the could with a saving rate of .854 and .733 respectively, but they did not get an awful lot of support from their team, whereas Spinelli @Lspinelli(.955) was almost in a position to install a rocking chair and read the latest issue of VSN in the crease. The Norse's power play was terrible (0/5) and the penalty kill arguably even worse (2/7) with an almost Canuck-esque performance. Daniel was noted with 0g, 1a, +0, 2 PIM (Delaying the game, lead to a goal against), 4 hits and 1sb Oslo faced Cologne in their fourth match and achieved a 4-3 OT loss. The three goals for Storm were scored by Pandora (Toon) in power play, 3rd (Janser, Puhovs) in power play again and Pandora (Nezuko, Knale) in power play once more (three's a charm). The three stars were Martin (1g/2a), Pandora (2g/0a) and Leduc @Alexandre (1g/1a). Fletcher (.930) and Protagonist (.900) duelled on a very high level. Oslo's special teams had an almost perfect night with 7/7 on the penalty kill and 3/5 in the power play. Daniel achieved 0g, 1a, -2, 4 PIM (Roughing, twice, obviously did not lead to goals) and 3 hits The Jansers' statitistics so far are: Marcel: 28gp, 2g, 13a, 15pts, -17, 12 PIM, 19 hits, 40sb, 1gwg, 2ppg Daniel: 28gp, 9g, 18a, 27pts, -18, 44 PIM, 99hits, 15sb, 2gwg, 2ppg https://vhlforum.com/topic/112905-a-tale-of-two-brothers-1st-quarter-conclusions/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/112961-a-tale-of-two-brothers-defeats/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/113033-a-tale-of-two-brothers-a-mixed-bag/ GM 124: Las Vegas Aces vs. Halifax 21st (vhlportal.com) GM 126: Halifax 21st vs. Mexico City Kings (vhlportal.com) GM 133: Mexico City Kings vs. Halifax 21st (vhlportal.com) GM 139: Halifax 21st vs. Saskatoon Wild (vhlportal.com) https://vhlforum.com/topic/113007-lvahfx-s81/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/113053-otthfx-s81/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/113091-hfxssk-s81/ GM 100: Oslo Storm vs. Cologne Express (vhlportal.com) GM 104: Cologne Express vs. Oslo Storm (vhlportal.com) GM 107: Oslo Storm vs. Rome Gladiators (vhlportal.com) GM 110: Cologne Express vs. Oslo Storm (vhlportal.com)
  7. I recall when I saw her created, I checked with mods, whether the player's name is a violation of CoC etc. And they were fine with it, so I ended up offering her to join us, but she chose Miami instead...
  8. I have not taken Velociraptor classes unfortunately (I was too busy with German, French and English) and therefore my mastery of this without a doubt very expressive language is rudimentary at best. Some even say Velociraptor is the Dinosaur equivalent of Farsi. To me as an untrained listener their sounds express 'I am gonna kill you', 'I just have killed, and have a trace of my next victim' or 'I cannot find anything to kill (sad emoji)'. If I offended any Velociraptor(ette)s on this forum, I sincerely apologize for this, that was not my intent.
  9. This is a thing? I thought that there are two Velociraptor noises: 'agressive' and 'annoyed'.
  10. And I thought 420 is mainly making people chill instead of going on a rampage... don't make me guess the whodunit again
  11. I say it was Colonel Mustard with the Lead pipe in the Conservatory...
  12. Swiss Central Gazzette (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) Please find below the latest episode of our intrepid heroes' odyssee to find eternal VHL fame. Marcel's 21st played the Bulls first and lost 7-1. The only goal for the Nova Scotians was scored by McMuffin @Ente2997(Hagel) after 1:37 minutes played. That was the zenith of the 21st's performance that night. The three stars were Kovalchuk @Banackock (1g/4a), Ayodele @KingOercy (2g/0a) and Lappi @aksuko (1g/2a). Jarvinen @Collusion(.957) dominated Zininger @ScoreAGoalBudEh (.741) by a landslide. Halifax' power play was inexistent (0/3), their penalty kill spotless (3/3). Marcel had 0g, 0a and -5 Their second match was against the Marlins and while the score was much closer, it still was a 2-1 defeat. The Marlins scored a brace in the first nine minutes of the game and this was all it took to steal a win. Halifax honour was somewhat saved by the goal scored by AL @bigAL (Rain, Warrior) at the start of the third. The three stars were Wilson @dustywilson22(21 saves), AL (1g/0a) and Clue @MubbleFubbles (1g/0a). Wilson had a saving rate of .955 compared to Zininger's .882, well deserving that first star spot. Halifax' power play was 0/6, while the box play was 1/1. We cannot help but feel that one or even two points would have been in the realm of possibility if it wasn't for the 21st's inefficient power play. We sincerely hope that this will not come back and bite them in the final stretch of the regular season. Marcel was logged with 0g, 0a, +0 and 2 hits. Daniel's Storm was facing the Bratislava Watchmen in a hard fought 5-4 defeat. In the first period the teams took turns in scoring with the edge in Bratislava's favour (3-2). Jeffrenomitsu the 3rd @Jeffie43 (Puhovs, Pandora) and Nezuko @tfong(Sprout, Knale) were successful for the Storm. The only goal in the second was scored by Nezuko (Upton, Knale) which tied the game. In the final period, the Watchmen scored a brace, before Nezuko (Sprout, Janser) with their hattrick reduced the gap to one goal. Alas, their heroic effort remained unrewarded as this was the final goal in the game. Nezuko (3g/0a), Izaxaluoh @Vice (1g/2a) and Blloyoiderson @Cxsquared (1g/2a) were named three stars. Parise @Joker_TM (.915) performed better than the still respectable Fletcher @DragonFire420 (.881) in Oslo's net. The Norse power play was perfect (1/1) and the penalty kill good (4/5). Daniel was noted with 0g, 1a, -1 and 4 hits The second match was against Istanbul and ended in a 4-3 win. It took the Storm in shape of Sprout @Liberty_Cabbage(Rusty Knale) only 1:20 minutes to get on the board. With less than two minutes left in the first, Istanbul was able to draw however. They even took a 3-1 lead when the score two unanswered goals in the middle period. Alas, the Norse did not drop their sticks without a fight and a had a three goal comeback, scored by Jeffrenomitso the 3rd (Puhovs, Janser), Nezuko (Pandora, Sprout) and Sprout (Knale, Pandora). The Red Wolves were not able to react anymore and had to take the defeat. The three stars were Sprout (2g/1a), Tsarov @PadStack (1g/1a) and Khan @caltroit_red_flames (1g/1a). The goaltenders Fletcher (.930) and Kloxified @Kloxified (.902) were fighting an epic duel on the highest of levels, with the better end for the US-American between Oslo's pipes. Oslo's power play was very good (2/6), their penalty kill was not though (2/4). Daniel had 0g, 1a, -1, 2 hits and 30:53 TOI (highest of his team) to his name. The Jansers have the following stats to show for their efforts: Marcel: 24gp, 2g, 12a, 14pts, -15, 12 PIM, 15 hits, 37sb, 1gwg, 2ppg Daniel: 24gp, 8g, 14a, 22pts, -14, 36 PIM, 85 hits, 14sb, 1gwg, 2ppg Stay tuned for further updates on Marcel's and Dan's path to glory. https://vhlforum.com/topic/112724-a-tale-of-two-brothers-vhle-starts-at-last/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/112783-a-tale-of-two-brothers-normal-service-resumed/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/112831-a-story-of-two-brothers-in-full-swing/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/112865-a-tale-of-two-brothers-moving-on/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/112905-a-tale-of-two-brothers-1st-quarter-conclusions/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/112961-a-tale-of-two-brothers-defeats/ GM 113: Halifax 21st vs. Houston Bulls (vhlportal.com) GM 117: San Diego Marlins vs. Halifax 21st (vhlportal.com) GM 89: Bratislava Watchmen vs. Oslo Storm (vhlportal.com) GM 94: Istanbul Red Wolves vs. Oslo Storm (vhlportal.com)
  13. @Shindigs I feel with you. I was drafted by the Hounds into the VHLM and I would have gladly stayed there, even though they went from Cup-finalist to bottomfeeder during the post season as @N0HBDYhad to start with a literal empty roster and not many early picks... so obviously he did not have star players to start with and then had the odd IA to deal with on top of that... However, to give my brother and me a chance on the playoffs (and to get some much needed draft picks) he traded Marcel Janser and me to the Reapers mid-season. Due to the roster situation the LR there was much more active and therefore enjoyable... once it became apparent that I would reach the 200 TPE bar long before season end, I felt kind of sad to leave them, for the same reasons you mentioned above. However, most (or even all of them) were happy for me that I will get a high draft pick and that I can join the VHLE the following season. So I think you can drop your concerns about 'letting them down' or 'abandon the team' (though I understand where you are coming from). The VHLM is a development league and (almost) everyone is happy if your player is a success, that means they have done their job. And as a side note: I had the 'Vasteras-conflict' as well but with me it was Davos (luckily the Wranglers snatched me in the draft, so I dodged that bullet)
  14. Thanks @JardyB10 and @Beketov for these clarifications. They match more or less what I already thought would be the case, but was too lazy to find out on my own.
  15. First of all, apologies as I seem to have misunderstood your intentions which league to skip. Here are two thoughts to your statement above. 1. Is it possible that there is connection of implementing the 'E' and the extension of the VHL career being extended to 9 years? i.e. is that prolongation from 8 to 9 years already a compensation for the 1-2 years you spend in the 'E'? 2. If not, would it be helping the cause of the 'E' (and is it possible/doable), if only seasons actually spent in the VHL count against this 9 years limitation? i.e. if I am a 'clicker' (and I use this term an absolutely non-derogatory way) it takes me at least two seasons in the M to reach the 200 TPE and maybe two-three seasons in the 'E' to finally reach the VHL (and then bottom six as well), will my career be cut short and only be 6 seasons compared to 9 for max earners? My two cents are, that everyone (whether may earner with paid jobs or clicker) should have the opportunity to have a 9 year VHL career, no matter how long it took you to get there.
  16. I doubt that many have the ressources to do so tbh. As in this particular case, Spartan is also GM of his players' VHL franchise and he called himself up (there, I spilled the beans, who you were talking about)... Otherwise he could not play in the VHLM (due to his amounted TPE) and likely would not be called up to the VHL (except as a favour from the respective GM) This is in line with the existing rules as far as I can tell and I would not expect Spartan to act against same (for sure not knowingly). So it is a 'legal' move. Is it setting a great example? I do not think so, as it may give the rookies the wrong impression ('everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others')... This shall by no means taken as a slander on Spartan. I only bring it up because it is meaningful for and related to this discussion AND because I think, we should name things/people and not tiptoe around it. At least that is the way I prefer it.
  17. 1. I hope for twenty based on our performance so far. 2. I fear not, unless we can beat them a couple of times in the matches against them. 3. Would not mind more points. Having said that with the physical aspects of his game I am happy and the production is not that bad, considering he is a two-way forward and the team not being overly succesful yet. 4. Difficult to say, I think Rome has the most depth in the line up and that might give them the edge on the final stretch 5. Tucked at the face off, then it flies out 6. Yes I have, it is practically impossible not to in this time of the year.
  18. Hi Eynhallow, I am by no means an expert, just a few thoughts to consider (if you have not already). Did you take into consideration that your opponents' skill level potentially decreased as well (after all, some hard earning veterans retired last season)? Did your team have an influx of new/more skilled players, which would carry you? Or did your team lose more talented/capable players (no offence to Isau) and so RNJesus just allocates these points to you as their successor? These questions come to my mind without even going into the GM side of things (changing of tactics etc). But yeah I will be damned if I understand it correctly (especially with the meta). Good luck in getting to the bottom of this.
  19. I do not think that the E is a problem per se: One does not become a regular player in the VHL under TPE 400-ish. Does the E prevent you to get to 400? No, it does not. It takes approximately the same amount, considering that the reduction of practice facility from 2 TPE to 1 TPE is somewhat compensated with the VHLM graduation bonus of 10 TPE. Therefore, the E does not slow you down in your progress to the VHL, to the contrary: Since we have an additional league to farm Fantasy points by predicting outcome of games, my contention is that it FURTHERS your progress. As to retention: If you were to be promoted with a TPE of 250 from the VHLM as you seem to suggest, you will have bottom six positions in your first one-two seasons. At the same time if you are in the VHL with 250 TPE at the moment, you are a big contributor to your teams success and potentially will play in special teams and in all likely hood make the starting six (or at least second line). Now let me ask you this: What is more motivating to you as a player? 'Whoopie, I played two minutes in the last game and had 0g, 0a, -1' or 'Sweet, 2g, 2a, 7 hits, 23:31 min TOI and Man of the Match' I know the answer I would give to this question. One wants to be an asset for one's team, not a liability.
  20. Something went wrong when I did the lines. I am terribly sorry for that and thanks for pointing your concerns out. I fixed it now.
  21. I would find it crazy if it didn't tbh... but I think the best organ is the asshole... if it wasn't for them, one would be full of shit... ;).... sorry for the profanities...
  22. Swiss Central Gazzette (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) The Janser brothers played four games each since our last issue. Please find our summary as follows: Marcel's @Morcar80 21st had to face his former team, the high flying Mississauga Hounds. Long gone are the times this franchise had to suffer through defeat after defeat. Halifax had to learn it the hard way in a 4-1 defeat, that this team is no push over anymore. They scored first though with Hagel @jasplunds (AL, McGleiss) opening the score on the power play. After that it was the Hounds' game and they scored three goals in the second within four minutes and a fourth one in the final period. The three stars were Brillant @dart (1g/1a), Bushtit @Esso2264 (1g/1a) and Teekirque @Mongoose87 (1g/0a). Arpa @16z (.952) clearly won the saving competition over his opposite number McGleis @lukechezzwoo(.875). The 21st's special teams were okay (penalty kill 3/4) respectively good (power play 1/3). Marcel had 0g, 0a, +0 and 2 PIM (High Sticking, no effect on the score) The second match was the rematch against the Hounds. This time the game was much closer and ended in a 4-3 defeat. Halifax was first on the board again with Von Strangle @Timmy Turner(Warrior, Hagel) scoring the only goal in the starting period. Mississauga drew early in the second (Yurov @Geeks(Brillant)), but McMuffin @Ente2997(Janser, Leblanc) reinstated the one goal lead shortly after. Alas, the Hounds dominated the remainder of this period and had three consecutive goals by Eli @Elijah (Fong's Son) (Jeffers, TenIQIsGod), Teekirque (Stamerov, Yurov) and Lamb @dlamb (Zubov, Bushtit). McMuffin (Rockwell, Leblanc) was able to close the gap early in the third, but the Hounds defended their lead and brought the win home. The three stars were McMuffin (2g/0a), Yurov (1g/1a) and Teekirque (1g/0a). Blake @JBlake29(.667) had one of his weaker days, but his teammates compensated with diligent defence work for his shortcomings in this match, McGleis' (.867) performance was nothing to write home about either. The 21st's power play was 0/5 and therefore poor, while they defended their net valiantly when on numeric disadvantage (6/6). Marcel was reported with 0g, 1a and +0. The third encounter was against the Las Vegas Aces and ended with a 9-2 spanking of epic proportions. After five minutes into the game the 21st would even lead 2-1 by goals from McMuffin (Leblanc) and Rockwell @Kairi (Warrior, McMuffin) but that was the pinnacle of their performance and they collapsed like a house of cards after wards. It should come as no surprise to our esteemed readers that all three stars were Aces and Delle Donne @Dtayl (2g/1a) was joined on the podium by TheGreat @Alex Thegreat (1g/3a) and Kendcruz @Cruze (1g/0a). Halifax' goaltender McGleis (.0813) actually had the better saving rate than Vegas' Clark (.800) but also was tested almost five times as much (10 vs 48 shots). The 21st's penalty kill was pathetic and almost on Vancouver Canucks level (1/4) while the power play was surprisingly good (1/3). Marcel logged 0g, 0a, -1 and 3sb The fourth and final game was against the Saskatoon Wild and was lost with 4-2. Halifax had the first goal in the game by McMuffin (Janser, Leblanc) as well as the last one by Von Strangle (Warrior, AL). In between these two goals the 21st allowed four consecutive goals. The three stars went to Johnson @MrMonkey(1g/1a), Simeoni @Alesime (1g/1a) and McMuffin (1g/0a). Pearce @N0HBDY was clearly better (.938) than McGleis (.733). The special teams were a desaster with power play being zilch (0/6) and penalty kill atrocious (4/7). If the we only take the even strength goals into consideration the match goes 2-1 to Halifax. Marcel had 0g, 1a and +0 to his name. Daniel's Storm first played the Gladiators. The match ended in a 7-3 defeat for the Oslo team. The Norse were on the board first with Sprout's @Liberty_Cabbage (Upton) goal in the starting period. Rome then scored three consecutive goals, before Knale @HatrickRoy(Upton, Sprout) decreased the Gladiator's lead to one. Jeffrenomitsu The 3rd @Jeffie43(Puhovs, Pandora) repeated this effort. Alas, Rome scored three unanswered goals in the third and took the win home. The three stars of the night were Dugan @Howie McMeeker (2g/2a), Jugs @NerdyCowz (1g/3a) and Dixon @Rjdixon01 (2g/1a).
