  2. +10 Cadmael Ixazaluoh (After pending go through)
  3. Transaction ID: 20777817724691573 5 Uncapped TPE $1 Million Player Store Cash Doubles Week
  4. Name: Cadmael Ixazaluoh (EEchaza-LOO-oh) Age: 18 Birthdate: June 7th Birthplace: Uaxactun, Guatemala Height: 6'5" Weight: 240 lbs. Position: Defenseman Entering the draft pool from an unusual pipeline, Cadmael Ixazaluoh is a player that hails from the jungles of Central America. His only experience in sports, being the cultural game of sport the Mayan people played in their spare time. This sport is very physical and has very simple rules. As a result, Cadmael is extremely effective in the areas that involve his expertise. The game of pitz, requires players to keep a ball away from the opposing team. This was able to translate to puck handling and reading the oppositions next moves. He is practically written to keep the puck away from the opposing forwards and to take it back by any means. Pitz also requires the player to establish passing lanes in order for the attackers to shoot the ball through a stone hoop. Ixazaluoh can establish some mean passing lanes, feeding forwards and other defenders for clean shots. With the right receptive forwards, Cadmael can, in-effect, act as a secondary playmaker on your D-line. However, his lack of hockey experience comes with some disadvantages: he lacks hockey game sense, and as a result will need some time to adapt and learn hockey culture. His attitude tends to be very bland and straight-forward, something other more outgoing players might poke fun at. Cadmael tends to be very critical of teammates performance, not because of a dislike or hatred for the teammate, but because in his culture, lying is considered extremely rude. So not much is sugar-coated. Overall, Cadmael could be an outstanding addition to a team needing to establish more options for potent forwards. Despite his personality in the locker room, somehow Cadmael maintains an active and persistent media presence. He has consistently been on time with press conference meetings, practice time, and seems to be a very responsible person quite against what you would expect from him. He is receptive to his coaching especially, seeming to have a reverence-type of respect for his coaches and GMs. This seems to be a cultural thing but plays nicely into coaching him. He can be quite aloof at game time with the constant attention from fans and the on-goings of the arena. There have been times where Cadmael was more interested in what was happening with the mascot or the jumbotron, than what's happening in the game. While he means well, he can get distracted quite easily. PROS: Effective passer Physical Obsessive over puck control Shot blocker CONS: Hockey knowledge lacking Crude personality Un-coordinated: Cadmael is not well-balanced on skates yet. Easily distracted
  5. Exploring a New World For Cadmael Ixazaluoh, the world is his oyster. Having never left his homeland prior to the VHLM, he has taken every opportunity to explore the world around him. Though his loudest criticism in recent weeks, has come from none other than his own homeland. The blowback from his leap into hockey has sent Guatemalans into a social media frenzy, calling him "not a true Guatemalan" and saying things like "Keep him". We sat down with Ixazaluoh again to get his thoughts on this, and to pick his brain about his time in VHLM, so far: Interviewer: Cadmael, a pleasure to see you again. I hope you've been well. Cadmael: It is nice to see you again as well! I have learned more English since our last time, so hopefully this makes more sense. Interviewer: I can already tell the difference! How are you enjoying hockey? Cadmael: It is certainly much harder than what I imagined. Everyone else is the same size as me, and the game is certainly more physical then what I am used to. Interviewer: Do you think this will put you at a disadvantage for the draft? You're already slated to go sometime early on in the draft based on your media presence alone. Cadmael: I am not concerned with when I am picked. I want to do my country proud. That is all. Interviewer: Speaking of, it seems that there have been some, well, what we would call "haters" on social media from your own country saying some heinous things. How do you respond? Cadmael: All I say is this, I will do my country proud, or fail trying. Interviewer: Cadmael, a pleasure to talk with you as always. Cadmael: Thank you. It goes without saying, that with his introduction into his new life, he will face new challenges. Will he overcome them and make a name for himself in the league, or will he peter away. Only time will tell.
  6. ITS SPOOKY TIME! So I took some inspiration for the spooky season from my very own player's team, the Philadelphia Reapers. They came out with this sick orange/black logo that I just loved and I leaned into the orange/black a lot here. The render is Shayne Gostisbehere, who's number was 53, so I had to edit it to 43. He's also not a captain so I had to add that in as well. This is meant to be for @Masu Chan, co-captain for the Reapers. I think my own personal feedback would have been to add his players name somewhere, but I loved the FEAR THE REAPER line, and I especially liked how REAPER was hiding in the smoke. Though in hindsight its hard to see. Looking forward to some feedback!
  7. HAHA! The confused guy is actually a hilarious render. Something about the missing tooth and goofy-ass stance. Overall, this a good start and I could see this as a banner or graphic to accompany a news article (maybe write an article on this and include it for TPE!) That said, this is a great foundation with areas to improve. Some advice that I got on the Discord was to make sure the render doesn't abruptly end or get cut off. So in the case here, maybe bringing the canvas in or making your renders a bit bigger so that he's just not cut-off at the hip. I love the effect you did on the text, but add a drop shadow or just a solid color of the same text underneath so it's more legible. The Question Mark is a nice little touch and you blended it in well. Perhaps once the render is moved a bit, you could find a way to incorporate it into the effects! Very good start and I look forward to seeing more from you @Eynhallow, 6/10!
  8. I thanked you, now time to review it! Overall, this is easily one of my favorites. Albeit, for personal reasons. The jersey recoloring is awesome and I love the idea of that yellow/green jersey being a third jersey @Alex_J32hint hint. The recoloring and placement of the logo are nice. I especially love what you did with the name. The green drop shadow is a nice touch and complements that background well. You chose a very safe, simple background and for this sig it works perfectly. You could have been more adventurous and have picked something with more going on, but the brown brush strokes kind of fit what direction I am taking Ixazaluoh, simple, down-to-earth. Again very humbled you chose my guy for a sig, 9.5/10! Not much room for improvement. Great work!
  9. 4. Obviously the season is not off to the start we would have imagined, what do you think would be a good first step towards turning the season around? I play a lot of time on ice. So when I see next lines come out, all I can say is that they play like robots. Goalie just sit there and let pucks go by like hes a robot. I try to stop the puck with body, with head if need to, but goalie just watch. 5. Who is your way to early Founder's cup champion? Yukon and Ottawa very scary. They hit puck a lot, with goalies being robots, they make easy. Other team can come back if find normal goalie. No offense to current robot goalie. 6. We've named our captains for this season! What are you thoughts on the captains named? I like the captains! They teach me how to play Hockey, and I still am not sure about the in and out of the game. All 3 captain spend lot of time with me. One of them could shower more. Won't say who. 7. NHL - Where does Seattle finish in the standings? Mother once said, "if a man tries to repeat his accidental success, he will intentionally fail..." Looking at you Bettman. 8. Controversial opinion: cupcakes are better than cake. Are cupcakes not just small cakes? 9. What's your favourite video game? Growing up, we did not have the money to afford video games. When I was 10 years old, we went to the library and checked out an NES. We played Home Alone on the NES for weeks!
  10. Thank you, D- Linus Zetterstrom instead then. Also my goalie Rara Rasputin wasn't added to the list @fromtheinside Last pick then is W- Justin Lose
  11. Not only is the sig an absolute stud, the song is an absolute BANGER. Thank you so much again! This is awesome.
  12. F- Nicholas Mariani I think its you now? @fromtheinside
  13. @fromtheinsideFound out he's reitred, can I have Nathan Powers instead
  14. D- Han Jae Kuk @Bojovnik, after you!
  15. Hi yall! Nice to meet you. I'll take F Matty Fire. Followed by D Hulk Hogan Jr. I believe up next would be @Bojovnik!
  16. A Player with No Experience? His signing was met with concern from get-go. Cadmal Ixazaluoh (pronounced Ee-chaza-loo-oh) of Guatemala was a unique addition to the roster of the Reapers on September 20th, specifically because he has no hockey playing experience, and his only athletic resume is in the game of pitz, an ancient Mayan game where players attempt to bounce a ball through a stone hoop on a high wall. Players can tackle, jump over, and run up the wall in order to accomplish this, making Cadmael quite agile for someone his size - a whopping 6'5", 240lbs. We managed to sit down with the new player for some questions: Interviewer: Good afternoon, Cadmael. How are you liking Philadelphia so far? Ixazaluoh: It's very good! I very much like the food of the city. There is also a lot of people, and that is not something I am quite used to though. Interviewer: It seems that many of those people welcome you to the city and more importantly to the team that they love! Though, and not to sound rude, some are concerned that you're not ready for a league like the VHLM due to your lack of hockey experience. What do you say to them? Ixazaluoh: Yes! I learn to play Hockey and will show city that I am prepared to play with other player. Interviewer: That's right, you have your first game upcoming in S80 playing for the Reapers after being picked up on waivers. Do you think you'll be a good addition to their current D core? Ixazaluoh: Coach said disk may not reach goal. Therefore, disk will not reach goal. It was at this point that large-framed Ixazaluoh stood up and walked out from the interview. He left with the microphone still attached and the remaining audio seemed to be inaudible grunts and what seemed to be like more running. It goes without saying that this new addition to Philadelphia will most certainly be an interesting one - whether it's a good one or not, remains to be seen.
  17. Early Life Cadmael Ixazaluoh, pronounced Ee-chaza-loo-oh, was born in the mountains of Peten, Guatemala to a missionary and his native Mayan wife. Growing up in a remote region of the jungles of Guatemala, standard education and sport was not common for the region. His father providing most of his early education, Cadmael grew up in a family-oriented household, where his culture and history were a deep part of his upbringing. As a result, he grew up playing pitz, an ancient mayan sport where players attempted to bounce a ball through a stone hoop attached to a high wall. The game was considerably aggressive, as full contact and no protection were the norm. To receive his secondary education, Cadmael and his family moved to Guatemala City, where he attended a local secondary school. Sports would be put on the back burner while he was in school, as there were many shortcomings in the education provided by his father. For some unknown reason, @MattyIce was doing some scouting in Latin America for "unknown, untapped talent". It would just so happen that Cadmael's school would be putting on a cultural exhibition in the local town square - in which Cadmael demonstrated the sport of pitz. Noting his ability to maneuver quickly and to maintain his balance while in motion, @MattyIce attempted to see if the skills could translate to the ice. Arrival to Canada After much convincing, following his education in Guatemala, Cadmael would return to Canada with him to learn the basics of Ice Hockey. Having never left the country before, Cadmael used this opportunity to see the world, excited for what opportunities this could bring. He was quick to adapt on skates, taking on standard player drills after a few weeks of constant work at the rink. His experience in using his body to defend players worked to his advantage, as he was best suited for a defense-based position given his stature and size. His biggest obstacle would become learning the game, and one GM figured this to be the easiest task of all. Offer from the VHLM The Philadelphia Reapers did not see a problem with his lack of game skill, and made him an offer to join their ranks - despite his clear shortcoming in game knowledge. The language barrier would at first prove difficult, however Cadmael, exhibiting his quick-to-learn skills once more, would manage to learn enough english to speak with his coaches and staff. Though Philadelphia was not alone in their offer. 5 other teams took note of his defensive ability and sought to teach him the same. When asked why he chose Philadelphia, Cadmael responded: "I like the steak with the cheese most, go Yankees!" When we asked him to clarify, he simply nodded and smiled while backing away into the Philadelphia locker room. It's not clear, currently, what type of legacy Cadmael Ixazaluoh will leave in the VHLM, let alone the VHL in general. However, this can be said, he will be only the first in a future generation of Guatemalan hockey players. (500 words)
  18. They're all so good in their own ways. It's so cool to see the different interpretations of the task. Great work to all the finalists and good luck!
  19. Wow! This is very, very well done! I think the choice you made for the background was perfectly complemented to the rest of the overall sig. I feel like you intentionally buffed up the color on the red of the jersey and it was very well executed if so. The text inverting while on the render was a very nice touch and add a nice bit of elegance to the render. The only thing that I could offer to make it pop more would be to make the logo less transparent and maybe trying something with the "SAKU" text. It feels like everything else in the graphic has something going on except that one part. 9/10! This is just so cool and again what really makes it is that choice in background. Great!
  20. This looks awesome. This kind of reminds me of a graphic that a social media account for a team would put out after drafting someone. Informative, eye-catching and conveys a lot of information. If I were to add anything, your render looks like it could benefit from some motion blur. I would try taking the render itself, duplicate it, then blur that behind the original render just to add some action to the overall graphic. I would also explore replacing the white text boxes with either a white outline of the text or a nice drop shadow. I love the logo right where it is and the choice in your background was also perfect. The Halifax logo looks well-oriented, some noise to blend it better with the jersey could help. 8.5/10! I look forward to seeing more.
  21. Hi there! I'm new to the community and I'm playing a Guatemalan player. Only player with a Hispanic background who had some decent high-quality photos to tinker with was Auston Matthews so here he is. I took inspiration from my own Mayan heritage and placed the Mayan temple, Tikal in the background. This is an iconic symbol for Guatemala. The sun and flare represent the dreams of higher honor and glory for little Ole Cadmael. I used to make forum sigs/banners on a gaming forum like...5-6 years ago? So to say I'm rusty is an understatement. Any advice is helpful and this is most certainly a trial run for potentially getting back into stuff like this. Thanks for the constructive criticism in advanced!
  22. Actually, it's a little hard to tell. Being from Guatemala, I am more familiar with the aggression and pace of field hockey. Ice hockey is certainly a new jump for me so I don't think that I have enough experience to speak to how well they did in the draft. I can only hope that my decision to join the Reapers, will not be one that goes well-rewarded. Gracias por tu pregunta. I have not left Guatemala before receiving the call from the Reapers. I must say that it was surreal to be offered to play for so many new places that I have never been before. Philadelphia is a fun and exciting city. They have a big broken bell which is very cool, I suppose. The food has been most impressive though. The steaks of cheese that they sell in all sorts of places here in Philadelphia is muy riquisima. I have never had quite a sandwich like the steaks of cheese that they sell here. At home though, you can't go wrong with Tacos al Pastor con congri. In Guatemala, dogs roam the streets as if they are their own people. We call them chuchos. Basically they just live among us. Cats are jerks. I feel that I am not qualified enough to answer that question. Though I suppose whichever team is closest to us in proximity would be our rival. I definitely prefer movies. Nothing beats a trip to the local cinema to see what you crazy Americans have thought up in the past 5 years. I also love popcorn, so any excuse to go see a movie in theater is my bread and butter.
  23. #FearTheReaper Let's get to work, boss @Alex_J32 To everyone else who posted, thank you for the kind welcome and I look forward to getting to know yall
