  1. Hey! I'd also like to apply! I'm new to the GM scene but I have experience with other simulators and what-not, I also am decently active on the forums and Discord to keep things lively and to maintain the press conference.
  2. I admire the idea you had with the graphic coloring and it was certainly a good choice in the player photo you chose. That said, this is very good as a starter and I look forward to seeing how you improve! Your next step should be about adding more effects to the image, like someone else said I'm not familiar on your knowledge level but definitely play around with some more layers to add things! 6.5/10
  3. Congrats to the new GMs! Good luck to y'all! teach me though
  4. Vice

    VHLE Expansion

    Congrats to the two teams!
  5. Nice, little interlude to have in-between seasons! Marcel still being injured pains me to see, but Daniel is certainly taking off. I love how you format your 'meetings' in the article as actual interactions between the players and GMs. As always, a very fun read, 9/10!
  6. 1: Today is game 7 of the VHML finals. Which team do you think will win? OTTAWA!!!!! 2: Which team are you hoping to be drafted to? To make this interesting let's say Reaper's are not an option. I have no preference. My only wish is to have an impact on whatever team I join. 3: Were you chosen for a WJC team? If so, how do you think you will perform? I was! Team World is certainly looking interesting and I have a familiar face on the team! It will be fun to see how we do for our last hurrah. 4: Which aspect of your game are you hoping to improve this off season? I am hoping to just conserve my energy and save my performance for when the season begins. I will continue to train, but just not focus on a single thing in specific. 5: How many goals are you hoping to get next season? I will not focus on goals. I will however, focus on helping others get them. 6: Which WJC team do you think is the strongest? (World, Asia, Canada, USA, Europe) Canada most likely. Though we could have a chance with Team World....
  7. Yeah I could definitely do better no doubt. Once I get a better feel for the tools I think I'll do better. I'm learning from kinda just looking at others haha
  8. ....isn't hard when you're the only one who shows up.
  9. The face on that render is a solid 15/10. The jersey recolor is very well done and the changes to the coloration on the jersey help mask the logo change really well. Might just be the blue/red color scheme but that part just seems super basic compared to the rest of the photo. But you might have been going for that "generic" tool vibe that I get from it. Overall a very solid piece, 8/10
  10. Awesome! Being on the team with y'all has been really dope. That said, this graphic fits Mikael *perfectly*. The render and the text match overall and the coloring you did at the bottom is very well done as well. The outlines around the render really make it pop, so despite there not being much going on, it really makes it look like there is. My only gripe is that it is a bit small. Otherwise, fantastic! 9/10
  11. IXAZALUOH PREPARES FOR DRAFT With his VHLM Playoff Debut cut-short, Latin American Cadmael Ixazaluoh looks toward the upcoming drafts of the VHL and VHLE. Pretty consistently, Cadmael has charted well against others in his draft class, ranking usually among the top 10 on paper. Though noticeably, he has been left out of many pundits Top 10 counts and draft predictions, even being left out of first round predictions in some cases. When we asked Cadmael on his thoughts about this and the upcoming draft, he had this to say: "I am just grateful for the opportunity to play. I have come from a place that has not quite heard of hockey, let alone played it. To me, all that matters is doing the best that I can for a team that needs me. Whether that team chooses to take me first, or last, wherever I end up, I want to have an impact. I believe that I let my skills speak for me this season, I do not need to rely on others to tell me that I am not up to expectations or meet the 'caliber' of others in the draft. I put everything I have on the ice, I stay as a source of encouragement and honesty in the locker room, and no matter where I end up, I will continue to do these things." The Philadelphia Reapers suffered a devastating 3OT loss to the Minnesota Storm in the VHLM playoffs this past season. We asked Cadmael about his time with the team: "Without the Reapers, I would not be Cadmael. These boys have taught me not only to play hockey, but to play it well. Mason (@Masu Chan) remained a source of leadership and guidance, as well as motivation to perform better for myself. The Janser boys I will miss playing with. Something about having both of them there was very motivating. Most of all though, I will miss my line-mate and friend for the whole season. El Coronel, himself. George Sanderson (@SpicyGecko). He was line partner through the rough beginning and the beautiful end. I am grateful for his companionship. I can only pray that the stars allow us to be linemates again soon." Many teams GMs have been reaching out to prospective draft picks for pre-draft interviews. Have you done any so far, and if not what are you doing to prepare? "I've done one, sort of. It was brief. As for preparation, well not much I can do aside from tell the staff on the team exactly what I told you. I want to work hard and have an impact from the get-go." As the next big stepping stone for Ixazaluoh, this coming few weeks will certainly be a life-changer for him. Will he continue his success? Only time will tell.
  12. 1: Let's get this question out of the way first. We were eliminated in the 1st round, which team do you think will win the VHML Championship? I don't care. It's not us so it's irrelevant who wins. What matters is that we had a hell of a season and the people that we played with will be absolute forces of nature. 2: The Reaper Awards will be held tonight. Are you excited? 3: Which attribute of your player are you going to focus on most in the off season? Most likely going to work on my defensive skill and passing. I am aiming to be a big threat wherever I go to. 4: Are you excited for the drafts? Eh. More or less. I've been disappointed in the lack of interviews I've had but I could just be thinking too much into it. 5: How many points do you intend to get next season regardless of what league you play in? I just want to be a valuable asset. Whether that is scoring points, or feeding the point scorers. 7: I recently chose the Portland Winterhawks as my favorite WHL team. Do you have a favorite team in that league? The what? 8: What's your favorite hockey trick? (Example: Between the Legs shots, Michigan, Datsyuk Flip?) Michigan. I want to do that someday. 9: Who's the most underrated NHL Goalie? Spencer Knight, my god what a rock.
  13. I ended up going to his profile and literally searching through everything @bigAL ever posted. Then I didn't find anything. Then I clicked on @Alex_J32's profile and refreshed the page while he did it to get the answer.
  14. Sad that my time with the Jansers was cut so soon!

  16. Instead of graphics, I took the time to actually sit down and listen to a podcast to review. Overall, very informative of the new players joining and I could see why people would want the info so as to maybe pick up someone who may have gone unnoticed on the forum (doubt that ever happens). My only real advice would be to focus less on filling for time and just speak your thoughts! You seem to form some very well-thought out opinions and you explain them rather thoroughly and you tend to stop yourself to check how much time you've talked. I would just rather hear your whole thought! 10/10!
  17. It's high time I review these, because quite frankly I think you easily put some of the most effort into these on this site. They are always great summations of the games we played and they're my go to for finding out details of the games we played. In fact, if I miss the sim and you post this first, I will almost always read your "tale of two brothers" to find out how the sim went. You do a very good job also reporting on the successes of others and not just the two Jansers. It's been very fun to follow along so far and I am looking forward to what happens for the Jansers in the VHL! 10/10
  18. Really had no inspiration for this one at all. I wanted glowy eyes.....so I put glowy eyes...spooky.
  19. 2: Is there any special meal you eat in preparation for the playoffs? I will eat freshly slaughtered swine, fresh from my home. I will prepare it in my traditional style and my teammates and I will feast like warriors before battle. We will be victorious. htt 3: Who do you think will be our Playoff MVP? In theory, I would want us to work as a team, as only teamwork can bring us through these playoffs. I hate to say that we are outmatched in experience, but our drive and spirit will see us through. If you made me pick one, George Sanderson. The Coronel himself. ps:// 4: Assuming we win the Founders Cup, How will you celebrate? I will first go to center ice and assume the ceremonial position of triumph. I will shed all of my gear down to my bare skin and expose myself to the opposing team as a sign of dominance. I will pound on my chest and declare victory in the form of a primal scream that could only be described as shrill enough to make you wince. THEY WILL SEE THE LIGHT. If GM says that is too much, then perhaps a float parade at home will do. i.im 5: What's your favorite brand of hockey equipment? Jofa. gur.c 6: If you were to name the next VHL, VHML or VHLE team, what would you name it and which city would it be in? I would want to include the southern hemisphere somehow. The Lima Beans or Madagascar Penguins. om/ 7: What is the best Gatorade flavor? If not Gatorade then Juice? Glacier Freeze, do not retort with a different flavor. 03B 8: What is / was your favorite candy to get for Halloween? Definitely, 3 musketeers. Cannot go wrong! jQb8 9: Least favorite NHL logo? Ducks, their current logo is pretty bad compared to what it used to be. .png
  20. In case you were'nt aware, we've had a hell of a season here in Philly. A lot of camaraderie and just good times all around. No matter how well the team does, it was special to be a part of it while I could be! @Alex_J32and @Masu Chan, thank you both for running a fine ship and I hope you both continue to do awesome things!
  21. 1: With a full team, I think we can really do well. The players that played like robots were really bringing the overall team down, and now I feel we can do more and accomplish more. 2: The camaraderie and the joy I get from interacting with my teammates. They are all so welcoming and kind to one another. It is not what I imagined it would be. 3: The GM has done a fantastic job of turning the team from a retooling into a contender for the cup. All in the span of one season. I am in awe of how he was able to turn this around so quickly. 4: Absolutely! I think the hard work of the team needs to be rewarded and what better way to do so then to celebrate with the reaper awards! 5: I think it is most certainly possible. I think with how well we have been playing against the favorited teams, just goes to show that we can do this. 6: Amazing! Now we just need to beat Yukon. 7: No. I think there issue is going to be injuries and the fact that they have no real star talent yet. They might make the playoffs in a low seed, but I ultimately dont see them doing much. 8: Florida Panthers are always my favorite to watch no matter what. No place like home! 9: Maybe? Gretzky was a league of his own so the fact that Ovi is even close enough to consider that is an accomplishment on it's own.
  22. Greetings and Salutations! I am grateful to the VHLM Player's Association for allowing me to chronicle my journey through the VHLM! In my blog I will be recounting my most quarrelsome experiences, and even the good ones! I am really Looking forward to getting started with uploading mY future, and I hope that you will stay subscribed to my blog so you don't miss out! I hope to see you in the next blog! That said: Blog #1: I recently find myself doubting my own skill. Many people will be quick to call out my blocking ability, but I must be the first to admit that I feel I can do more. In a way, I can't help but feel I am the reason our team isn't performing to it's full potential. It might be my own self-esteem talking, but I can't help but think that. Though, this recent talent we've brought to Philadelphia has reinvigorated me. With the addition of the Jansers, I have been performing at my absolute peak, only because my teammates drive me to do better. I was nervous about moving away from Guatemala, but now I see that sometimes, in order to find home, you must leave your old one behind. Philadelphia has shown me that anyone from anywhere can be your family. Without this team, I would be homesick beyond belief. It's almost bittersweet that I will be most certainly leaving the team after the S81 draft. In a come about way, I wish to continue playing for the team that has been so welcoming and kind to me as if I need to repay them for everything that they have given me, but even I understand that all good things must eventually come to an end. The upcoming draft has me on edge. Having never played hockey before my time with the Reapers, two camps have seemed to form regarding my spot in the draft. Whether or not I am selected, I am just blessed for the opportunity to have been with the Reapers. If I had to end this blog entry with a phrase I would say this: introductions can have more information than you think. It's important to get a good clear img so that ur mind can make the right decisions. 23. Wow what an awesome sig! The colors really pop in this and I love the brights reds contrasting with the blue/purples! The render you chose is very HQ and helps lend to the realism of the effects being used in your sig. Nice touch to have the full name on the sides at opposite ends, its a very classic-looking style that is slept on quite a bit. My only critique is hard to put into words since it's more of a personal preference, but I feel you could have added a bit more on the effects to really take this to the next level. 9.5/10! Amazing work!
