Grosgars got a reaction from Laine in Ottawa Lynx defensive core and goalies analyst.
I was looking at some VHLM rosters and I need to talk about Ottawa's defense four of them including myself are at 197 tpe or more and the lowest having 139 tpe.

The first defenseman is Ragnar Hagsrtom with 200 tpe. This player played with Minnesota last season at the beginning of the year and developed into a key part of this organization. He produced 82 points in 63 games last season and he is looking to be even better with Ottawa this season. Ragnar is a great two-way defenseman known for his speed with or without the puck.

The second defenseman is Janet Snakehole with 199 tpe. He is in his second year with the team and he had 61 points with 51 being assisted in 72 games. Snakehole is known for his passing, he can see a free player anywhere on the ice and deliver a tape to tape pass to the player.

The third defenseman is Matt Live with 197 tpe. He is beginning his third season in the VHLM, a veteran in the league. He is a bit like Hagstrom with more experience, having a last season record a campaign of 74 points in 72 games and was one of the reasons why Ottawa did so well in the S80 playoff accumulating 31 points in 16 games.

The fourth defenseman with also 197 tpe was drafted fourth overall in the most recent draft Max Torq. Another good two-way defenseman similar to the others, but Max is a  more physical player who loves to lay the body. A great rounded defenseman.

The fifth player is at 150 tpe Milan Dvorak was picked 16 overall in the most recent VHLM draft. He is the fifth best defenseman on the team, but can easily play in the top pairing in every other team. A great well balanced defenseman.

The sixth defenseman is Calix Pearce with 139 tpe one the Pearce brother. He is a very talented player, a bit more defensive than the other but with a phenomenal first pass to help the forward with a quick pass to counterattack.

In my opinion the Ottawa Lynx have the best defensive core between all the teams in the VHLM, no questions about that. All of them can be on the first pairing of most teams. I’m looking forward to what the coach will do with all this talented defenseman on his lines. He definitely has some options for his line and special teams. With Snakehole and Pearce who are pass first players, Snakehole and torq who are physical players and Hagstrom who love to move the puck from his zones to the offensive zone to try to make some plays. All of them are good so I don’t see any situation where that defensive core is not good, but maybe the coach will find some chemistry between some players to help even more that defensive core.

Who are the two players who benefit the most with that defensive core, the goalies of course. The first one is Ed Nu, an agile goalie who has a great reflex and is really hard to beat on the glove side. The second one is Wumbo, a hybrid goalie who is really good in all aspects of his game, he maybe doesn't have the flashy glove like Nu, but his technique and positioning is really great.

We held a vote in my first season as a manager but last season it was @Matt thunder and I who made the choices, this season VOTING is back! With a full team of players and a suggestion from one of our newer guys @Jason, it was an easy decision to let the team handle the decision and in the past few days each player has been making their way up to the general managers office to submit a vote. Thank you to everyone who participated.. No more waiting, it's time to announce our leaders for the upcoming season!

    Away "A" goes to..

    Home "A" goes to..

And the moment we we've all been waiting for, the captain for the S81 campaign will be..

See you on the ice If anybody didn't get to vote or wanted a letter but didn't, you can still help motivate the team, I know some of the names mentioned should eventually become one anyway. Credit goes to @Minion for supplying the logo 👍

    2. Not really, but all the teams is more balance but it’s really depends on picks and waivers claim.

    3. focus on our game. Execute the game plan.

    4. Im really adjustable, I love to help in the offensive zone but without compromising my position in the defensive zone.

    5. That’s a tough question. Damn I think I would choose the last minute penalty.

So if you haven't seen yet, Justin Lose has walked into Free Agency and left the Riga Reign. Not only did he walk in Free Agency, he chose to sign with the Seattle Bears. We received this letter before the interview with Lose about his departure and arrival.

    "Dear Riga Fans,

I know you are probably mad at me right now. This is understandable. From the moment I got drafted by Riga, I knew this place was special. Everyone was super welcoming and I felt at home. The fans and the players all made me feel comfortable. Of course, nothing was perfect in the rookie season but that's normal. We made the playoffs and everyone thought we would just keep getting better every season. Obviously, that didn't happen. Mentally it was exhausting going 110% every game only to miss playoffs. Frustration built up inside of me. I knew that staying in Riga wasn't going to be good for me mentally. That's why I walked away from the team. When I first signed I said I would bring a cup to Riga. Unfortunately, I have to break that promise. It kills me inside to know that I failed in that regard. You can choose to boo me. You can cheer me. All I know is that I did what's best for me and at the end of the day, isn't that what everyone wants? While Seattle is far away, I look forward to our games in the future. Riga will always be my home.

And to Seattle, I'm here. Get ready for a new man. I'm not messing around anymore. I'm putting it all on the ice.

    Til we meet again,
    ~~Justin Lose~~"

Interviewer: What are your thoughts on the Seattle team now that you have joined them?
Lose: Oh man, Seattle is going to be a powerhouse in the future. Hell, even now honestly! I knew there was something special happening. Seattle and London were the two big players going after me. London came out red hot. Seattle was lukewarm at first but when the signing window opened it was a raging fire. I've never seen so much passion to get someone to sign with them. I felt like Seattle was the perfect fit. They are coming off a rebuild but the GM had a great plan laid out for me.

I: Do you feel like you have a chance at a cup?
L: Yes. This squad, while young, is hungry and with the GM making moves to speed the rebuild up... I see great things for the future. I was brought in to help teach the younger players a thing or two. That's a unique and awesome role to have. Also being able to have a fresh start on a new team... I'm a new man. I can't wait.

Lose starts his journey in Season 81 with the Seattle Bears! Will Lose live up to the expectations or will his play in Riga be permanent? Don't miss anything this season and find out.

Grosgars got a reaction from JardyB10 in The Minnesota Storm Arena now sold
With the Minnesota Storm relocating to Oslo the arena that they used during the season is now sold to a player who played with the team last season. Ragnar Hagstrom is now the new owner of the arena, nobody knows where he found the money to buy the arena, but he has some plans for the arena in the near future.

He wants to give back to the city that gave him his chance in the VHLM. He wants to help kids from Minnesota who love hockey and want to play, but don’t necessarily have the money to buy equipment or the money to play a full season on a team. So with the help of now retired player Faddei Sokolov, they started their hockey school to help those kids. The name is Strom and Lov hockey school and they did their first week of lessons this past week. It was a great success

Sokolov and Hagstrom became pretty close friends. They join Minnesota almost at the same time, they play in the same pairing for a couple of games and they were roommates when the teams played in other cities. They were very close, but when Sokolov told Hagstrom that he didn’t love to play the game like he used to and wanted to retire after the season. It was really a huge surprise for Hagstrom because Sokolov was a passionate player and after each game he told every mistake and good play we did.

When the Storm announced that they relocated to Oslo Sokolov called Hagstom about the hockey school and what he wanted to do for the rest of his life being a coach. So Hagstrom and Sokolov with some help of investors and friends did buy the arena and started this school. Who Sokolov is fully in Hagstrom helps when he has time.

Grosgars got a reaction from Spartan in Ragnar Hagstrom talking with Brad about stuff
Sadly the Minnesota Storm has been defeated by the Ottawa Lynx in the secours round of the playoff in the VHLM. We talk to defenseman Ragnar Hagstrom and ask him what the future holds for him, how his first season was with the storm and some other subjects.

Brad: Hi my name is Brad and I’m working for a local journal and wanted to ask you some questions, is it okay with you? Do you have time to answer?

Hagstrom: Yes for sure. It’s the offseason I have all the time needed.

Brad: First of all, how are you doing?

Hagstrom: I'm doing very well, thanks.

Brad: What did you do in the offseason and what expect you to do?

Hagstrom: With three drafts coming up, I did a lot of interviews and I feel good about them. Well right after the series versus Ottawa, I did fly back home to Uppsala to take my mind off hockey for a little bit but not that long, because my agent called me and told me that the VHL team and VHLE team wanted to meet me. After that I restarted training with my personal coach. We focused on some aspects of my game like skating, puck handling, stick plays and physical plays. I’m just trying to be a well rounded defenseman for the team that is going to select me in the near future.

What is your opinion on the E expansion with your old team the Storm Relocated to Oslo and the Rush going to Geneva?

Hagstrom: I am happy for Laine! He did an excellent job with us in Minnesota and I’m sure he is going to have success in the E. For the M it’s good, because the league will be more competitive. In the E it’s also good, I know that the league last season was so close that nobody wanted to trade picks or players. With the addition of these two teams, it’s going to help this league have more options for trades.

Brad: Looking forward to the M draft, what do you think you will bring to the team that is going to draft you?

Hagstrom: Well I did almost play a full year with Minnesota last season. That’s some experience that will help me this year. I will try to be a great leader, someone who can bring teammates together during difficult times and an all around great player on the ice, Simone who the team can trust in difficult situations during games.

Brad: That’s great to hear. Do you have any objective during the next season?

Hagstrom: The only objective is to make the playoffs and when we are in the playoff anything can happen. I will do everything in my power to bring my future team there.

Brad: Do you have any team in particular that you would like to play for?

Hagstrom: I know what you’re trying to do there. Ahah. I’m not going to say any teams names, but I have a list of teams that seem interested in me and would like to play for them.

You have a possibility of being drafted to Stockholm who is very close to Uppsala. How would you feel playing there?

That would be a dream come true if all my family could see me play and how well I am doing now. Also I could see them more and that is super exciting, but we never know, that’s only a possibility, a possibility that I would love, but it’s not 100% sure.

Brad: Thank you for your time Ragnar and I wish you the best of luck in the draft and in your future.

Hagstrom: It's my pleasure it’s always a fun time talking with you Brad, see you next time.

That’s great work and good analytics of games I was a bit confused at first seeing some names red and some green but quickly realized that’s it was red for was the names of the goal scorers and green was the players with assist. Maybe in the next one if you continue with that idea who is a nice touch and make the name pops more, you should add a little legend at the top of your media spot to explain that red was the goal scorers and green was the assists. I also very like the end paragraph where you explain why marcel was not having the same numbers he did with Miss. In general it’s a great article. 9/10

Grosgars got a reaction from Spartan in Minnesota heading in the playoff
The playoff is almost beginning and the Minnesota Storm are more ready than ever to try to win the cup this season. With recent double sims having 5 wins and 0 defeats in the sims. The Storm want to be a team that’s players in other teams are going to be stressed before the game. With a total of 25 goals in those 5 games they are averaging 5 goals a games and almost 45 shots per games. They have a great group heading to the playoffs with three solid offensive lines and 2 solid defensive pairing and 2 great goalies. They are 4 points behind Ottawa if they are able to pass Ottawa in the last couple of games to the season, they can have have a more easy match up against teams like Las Vegas, Miami or Mexico, they are not easy teams team to beat that doesn’t exist but I think those teams are not playing there best hockey right now and teams like Houston , Halifax and Philadelphia are playing really well those past little games. So finishing 2 or 3 in the standings can definitely help Minnesota in the first round of the playoff.

That’s a great idea. Seeing this after the trade deadline you did a pretty good job in this article to explain each teams status on trade and what to expect for the deadline. You also did a great job to point out most teams best assets in their roster and value players or pick to trades for. I think you forgot to mention if teams were buyers or sellers in the most part but did a great job ether way 9/10

Grosgars got a reaction from Spartan in Ragnar new roles with Minnesota
Minnesota has made some great trades and signings in the past few weeks. With somes defenseman being traded or released like cube whale and NineQPro. Ragnar now has a bigger role on the team. In less then a week he has passed to be the fourth defender to the second one and have more responsibility on the special teams. The young defenseman has taken those responsibilities seriously. With 72 points in 53 gameplay and a +/- of 33 Ragnar has proven that he is ready to lead that defensive core in offense and defense. Having new linemates can be a challenge sometimes, but the chemistry between Jyuunya and Ragnar is working and having a veteran defenseman at Ragnar's side is really helping him. Ragnar did earn some good tips from Jyuunya. The Swedish defenseman feels like he is ready to be a key part in this team for the rest of the season and the playoff. Ragnar did say:

    - I feel like I’m playing better these past couple of days. It was weird at first playing so much and with new linemates, but it was necessary for the team. I’m definitely going to give my all game after game and even more when the playoffs start.

This is really good! You obviously did a ton of research and I can only imagine on how much time you spent checking through every team. As someone who is a huge stat nerd I really appreciate this and it's a good insight to my competitors. Only thing that I would change and it may only be because I'm on my phone (which likely is the case so if so ignore this part) is that the Name's of the teams could be bigger and in the center of the page. Once again it's probably just on my end, viewing on a phone and all.

Grosgars reacted to Lemorse7 in S81 VHL Mock Draft
Well well well another article and on this one it’s a mock draft but I want to do a special mock draft for the S81 VHL Draft coming up in a couple of weeks. I’m going to have a little section for each player to try to explain why he is the first pick and like a mini scouting report for each player so it’s going to be a long read. Put your seat belts on, maybe grab a snack here we go.

In this mock draft I’m going to pretend like the lottery didn’t change a thing and I’m looking at the standings to this day 18/10/21 to see where each team finishes. It’s not ideal but it is what it is.

    1. The first pick is Helsinki having the Toronto 1st pick Nico Pearce. @Spartan Nico Pearce the 6 foot 180 pounds who is playing like he is 6’5 and 220 pounds having 140 hits 331 shots 43 goals in them 7 games winning goals in only 52 games. In my book I call that a power forward more offensive minded. I feel like a player like this caliber with all the experience that spartan have with the league you can’t pass on him.

    2. The second pick is also Helsinki but with their pick this time. I have them pick Hulk Hogan 2 @Hogan having 113 points 296 shots 100 hits 73 shots blocked and a +/- of 45 the best defenseman available in this draft. 6’8 and 250 pounds this big defenseman can do all on the ice block shots, hit, shoot and pass. He is Definitely going to help Helsinki in the future.

Helsinki has a great prospect pool in every position. I have them pick one forward and one defenseman with their first two picks.

    3. Seattle turned to pick with their first rounder. Harkat Mulds @hylands this center playing for Yukon in the VHLM. This small playmaker is ripping it off in the VHLM. 5’5 and 140 pounds with 110 points a +/- 81 295 shots. He is a well rounded player who is going to help Seattle in a couple of seasons.

    4. The fourth pick Riga with their pick is selecting Wattson Power. @Tape-to-Tape I feel like Riga are going to pick a defenseman and Wattson Power should be the pick with Riga only having 1 defenseman prospect and defender current players. I feel like it’s the perfect match.

    5. The fifth pick London with their first I have them surprise surprise Zaza Colors. @McWolf   I was doing my mock draft and remembered that Mcwolf  was the GM of London, with Vladimir and The Terrible Trivium retiring and ZaZa was available so 1+1=2. Zaza  Colors with 101 points 271 shots 44 goals and a +/- 80. Offensive minded and ready to rumble.

    6. The sixth pick went back to Helsinki with the LA first rounder picking Maximus Decimus Meridius. @Beaviss This warrior from Spain having 73 points, 252 shots and a +/- 52 is a good two way forward. But his speed needs some work.

    7. The seventh pick Warsaw with their first picking Nezuko @tfong from the Minnesota Storm. Having a season of 87 points 286 shots and a +/- 40 is really offensive minded with his 92 scoring ability. Having elite players like Maximus is really good for Warsaw.

    8. Now the eight pick Calgary with the New York pick selecting Biggie Cheese. @a_Ferk I feel like Calgary has a nice forward prospect and needs some defenseman prospect Biggie Cheese is perfect for that team. Who can be responsible in his zone and productive on the scoring sheets. Having 75 points 173 shots 70 shots blocked 63 hits in 53 games.

    9. The ninth pick Riga with the Prague puck selecting Cameron Elsby. @Spence King He is a very tough defender to play against, he is not afraid to lay the body or to sacrifice his body to block shots. With a season of 53 games 56 points a +/- 32 157 shots 162 hits and 71 shots blocked. Adding another defenseman to this draft.

    10. The tenth pick goes to Toronto having a good offense but a poor defense is going to pick Cadmael Ixazaluoh @Vice a player who has recently been created in the middle of the season he is quickly becoming a great defender for Philadelphia. Cadmael is a defensive defenseman who is really good at blocking shots. It's almost like his stick has an eye. Cadmael has 64 points, 74 hits and 104 shots blocked in 53 games played.

    11. At the eleventh pick Riga with their final pick of the first round selecting Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems @FrostBeard , a well rounded player who is really responsible in his zone, one of the most defensive forwards in this draft class. Having a season of 46 points with a +/- 25 118 hits in 53 games played.

    12. The twelfth pick I have Toronto picking Juha Jarvinen @Collusion  with Toronto currently don’t having a goaltender and with prospect Oskar Lindbergh definitely being the starter for the next couples of season I have Jarvinen who is rapidly earning some experience in the VHLM and can be a solid backup to Lindbergh in the next couples of seasons in Toronto.

    13. The thirteenth pick the last of Helsinki in the first round selecting Janet Snakehole  @MattBake12 if feel like this s81 draft class is really deep in forward but not very in defenseman and even less in goalies so I think Helsinki are going to select a defenseman for a nice two forward two defenseman in the first round. Janet had a season in the VHLM of 42 points a +/- 25 102 hits and 54 shots blocked in 52 games.

    14. The fourteenth pick in Moscow I have is Alexandre Leduc ( me) , a well rounded player who is learning the ropes in the VHLM with Yukon. Having a season of 60 points a +/- 51 185 shots in 51 games he is a good player with a lot of character in games.

    15. The fifteen pick Warsaw and I have them picking Daniel Janser, @Daniel Janser a great player who is averaging one points per game with 56 in 53 games played, with 207 shots and 109 hits. Daniel is eager to learn and always wants to be better.

    16. The sixteenth pick and the final for Seattle in the first round I have Robert Wilk @Tomat0 having 50 goals 95 points 285 shots 82 hits in 52 games. Robert is an offensive player who loves to shoot the puck in the offensive zone.

Some shutouts to players who I think can maybe be in the first round if they continue their efforts to earn TPE Mason Jones @Masu Chan , William Groves, @Will3  George Sanderson @spicy_gecko , Yun Chiang @FireballSalad , Sergey Probrazhensky @Bulduray_1 ,  Ragnar Hagstrom @Grosgars and Tadhg Byrne. @teknonym Keep up the good work.

Thank you to Gaiko @Gaikoku-hitofor the tips.

    1. I change my routines a lot but a always start by the left side first.

    2. My heart want to go with Minnesota but I think the step is big between this 2 league so I need to go with a VHLE team.

    3. I’m ready to be competitive for the rest of this season and that only prove that we can beat anyone if we work hard and we use the game plan.

    4. In terms of hockey Canada, for sure.

    5. I don’t have a vhl team but I’m working on it .

    6. I think they are still one of the top team in the league the offense is just so good and Helly is confident in is net.

With only 6 points difference between the fifth place and the nine place in the standings. There is a huge fight between these 5 teams to take the last 4 spots available. I will do well again like last time, describe each team and try to predict where each team will finish at the end of the season. I will keep the Mexico City Kings and The Las Vegas Aces descriptions short and sweet because I already did them in my last media spot. Link below ⬇️.

    Vegas

The Las Vegas Aces are at the fifth position with 55 points  in the standings at the moment writing this. Are the mystery team. They recently traded their ex-goalkeeper Grubauer for a Wiley Blanchette and a bunch of picks for the upcoming draft. The aces have some great players who can carry the team on their back with players like Taylor Carter, Alex Toon and Patric Twist who are all over a point par game. They can steal some games against some teams but they are rapidly losing points on the standings. Let's see if their free fall will stop or continue.

    Mexico City
Now The Mexico City Kings, are at the sixth position with 54 points only 1 points behind Las Vegas and 1 points ahead of Halifax. They have a lot of depth and have signed a lot of players since my last article. Their star players continue to feed the scoreboard. With players like Matt Aven having 82 points in 51 games is the star offensive player with the help of defensemans Dookie Headtop with 79 points in 51 games, Wattson Power 61 points in 51 games and Roman von zkikowski 50 points in 51 points. These defenseman help the teams on both sides of the ice while being productive and being responsible in their defensive zone, to help goaltender Big Hank when the situation on the ice is critical. Big Hank had a respectable season for his first year in the VHLM with 0.881 saves percentage and a 3.92 goals against allowed par games this season.

    Halifax

Now the Halifax 21st or #BOATGANG. Personally I think Halifax and Mexico City are the better teams compared to the other 3 they have a lot of depth and some nice depth players. They are at the seventh position in the standing with 53 points. Halifax have a great offense with 222 goals for and 243 goals against. They are the best teams offensively and the worst defensively between the teams they are battling with in the standings. Star player Bryn Yrwy having 126 points in 51 games played, Jacob Richard having 106 points in 51 games played and Jorgen Von Strangle with also 106 points in 51 games. Their lack of defense is hurting them a lot. They have Boris Tsezar in net who is stopping most of the pucks directed at him with a 0.890 save percentage and a 4.01 games allowed per game.

    Philadelphia

Now the teams these two last teams are tied with 49 but Philadelphia have one game in hand only playing 50 games so far this season. Philadelphia has built these teams with draft players and a lot of new recruits. They have production from almost all the players on a regular basis. With players like Cadmael Ixazaluoh having 64 points in 53 games played ( yes sims have just been done  ) and 104 shots blocked so he can produce and be responsible in his zone. With Alessio Simeoni, Mason Jones, Mikael Mursu and  Julien Bernier are all almost a point per game with recently acquired the Janser brothers with Daniel having a solid 22 points in 20 games and Marcel who is responsible in his zone and can keep the cup away from his net. You can say that Ali Des Aves is not alone who is blocking shots on this team. The goalie is definitely helping steal some games with a 0.888 saves percentage and a 3.63 goals allowed per game.

    Miami

Now the final team, Miami Marauders with also 49 points in 51 games. These teams are lacking in depth but all of their players are points per games with Yun Chiang with 86 points in 48 games and Mix Bag OChips the two most productive guys on the teams. They are lacking in defense with only one player Xiaoping Benguin Dinghao Sonei with 31 points in 33 games played and 60 shots blocked. Surprisingly are the second team with the lowest games against with 212 only Vegas have less with 191. Goaltender Juha Jarvinen is definitely helping in that department with a 0.894 saves percentage and a 3.58 goals allowed per  game.

Now the fun stuff I will try to predict where each team is going to end up at the end of the season. I personally think the two best teams are Halifax and Mexico City.

In the fifth position I have Halifax I think their depth , that first line and their goaltender/defensive side of the games is better than the others so they should be versus Houston in the first round playoff.

In sixth place we have the Mexico City Kings. I was hesitant between these two but I think Halifax are slightly better in most parts of the game. Playing against Minnesota in the first round in the playoff.

In seventh place I have the Miami Marauders, surprisingly for most people but I think Yun Chiang and Juha Jarvinen are the two players who will make a difference. They are upgrading really quickly and can steal some games. They are earning 72 tpe for Yun Chiang and 59 for Juha only in October. Facing Ottawa in the first round of the playoff.

In eight places I have Philadelphia. The Reapers are really good but I think they miss star players who can help this team. They will face Yukon in the first round.

So I have Las Vegas missing the playoff this season. They have great players but not enough players to make a difference in those last games of the season. I can see them maybe take a playoff spot if their games are low scoring games. They are very good defensively but are lacking a bit in offense.

That is my bold prediction for this fight. I think the trade deadline coming up is maybe going to help some teams and mess up my prediction. Thank you for reading.

This is so nice is like I’m reading a book. It’s a great mix about the retirement of Linus and your new players you are going to use in your recreation. The story is very interesting and the game analysis is very well done. I’m super exited to read the rest. That deserves a 11/10.

I like this a lot it’s an interesting story on how he deal with is injury and want to work harder afterwards to continue is career. I like the characters too he seems like a super intense players and I’m sure he is going to have a nice career in the VHL. 9/10 It’s easy to read and very interesting.
