  1. Hey peeps. I am doing two pressers for next two update weeks due to some travel I have planned. Posting a bit early so I don’t forget Miami Marauders Press Conference – Week of November 3 1. We lost a member of the club this week to a ban for having a previous banned account. What are your thoughts on people having multiple accounts? Seems like way too much work to me to have more than one but what is your opinion? 2. Were 7-11 right now and despite a talented offense we are struggling to score. What do you think is the problem? Does Simon hate Miami? 3. If you could change one thing about the VHL TPE earning, what would it be? 4. What is your favorite way to earn TPE currently? Media spot? Presser? Etc 5. What are your player’s goals? VHL as soon as possible or remain in VHLM for several years? 6. What real life NHL player (past or present) most mirrors your VHLM player? Example: I think Don Jagr @koty is the VHLM Zdeno Chara Miami Marauder Presser for Week of November 10th 1. We added hitting machine Boris Bone-Breaker @rileyl this week. He brings a great bit of physicality to the club. You think he will eclipse 150 hits this season? 2. Do you ever want to be a VHL/VHLM GM? 3. Do you consider a hot dog a sandwich? 4. Don Jagr just moved into 8th overall in Miami history in blocked shots with 201, passing former Miami great Lionel Collberg. Don is 192 BS away from the overall lead currently held by Xiaoping Benguin Dinghao Aland (393). You think by the end of his career he can take the record? 5. Who has the best or most unique player name on the club? 6. Would you ever make a pure Enforcer player build? Do you think that build would be helpful to a club?
  2. You are going to be an animal in this league! Keep doing everything you have been and in no time we will see Grog on the box scores punishing the opposing teams
  3. There is one word that comes to mind when you talk about the Vancouver Wolves and Seattle Bears rivalry……………HATE! The one constant in the VHL is that you can bet the Bears and Wolves will never shake paws even in the best of times. The box scores typically tell the story as it's usually filled with fights and roughing minors. But if legend is true there is a rumor that once after a game the Bears GM @Banackock and Vancouver GM, @Frank duked it out outside the locker rooms causing both clubs to exit and brawl for their beloved GMs. Again, this is only a rumor but after it is believed Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts was seen smiling. Something that never happens. The Pacific Northwest battle has had two games this season and it’s tied at 1 a piece. However, after the Wolves most recent defeat to Seattle the locker room was tense and angry and vowed revenge next game. Let the battle begin!
  4. Claim for 10-27 2/2
  5. Miami Marauder Presser for Week Oct 27. 1. We’re off to a 3-3 start and played well against some top teams. Are you happy with the start or do you think we still need time to settle as a team? 2. Don Jagr @koty_kis #3 in blocked shots overall with 18. Are blocked shots an underrated stat when it comes to VHL? 3. In your opinion which VHLM franchise has the best uniforms and logo? 4. Right now, after 6 games we only have 16 goals scored. Do you think it’s just pre-season nerves or do we need to change things up? 5. Is the VHL your only SIM League? If not, what other leagues do you participate in? What is your favorite? 6. Would you rather win the scoring race or a Founder’s Cup?
  6. I know right!! Lot of pressure
  7. AWESOME!!
  8. Well deserved. Wolf to the end !
  9. LOL. I totally agree but every time I try to add a logo or photo it says file is too big and have reached my size limit??? I deleted photos in my profile page but still said photos were too large?? Ideas for a tech noob?
  10. Review: I am here to review since I sucked terribly at trivia this morning. First, great article. You constantly put together great articles that show tremendous amounts of research and forethought into the content. Draft re-caps require some research on the picks, teams, and the players themselves. Great insight into each draft pick that included some stats and player type with necessary details that give the reader a sense of the player and the type of player he/she will turn out to be. I also love the team logos and text color changes that help break up the article. The only thing missing to get a 10/10 is a picture of Logan Ninefigers. lol 9/10
  11. Understandable. You are forgiven
  12. T-4 days until the beginning of S96 and I am excited to get this season underway. The Vancouver Wolves have some payback to send to Toronto for knocking them out of the playoffs and they are looking forward to it. This year’s theme for the re-vamped Wolves is “Punishment.” The entire team stayed back in Vancouver all off-season to work out and train (even Rip Wheeler @ScottyP) and they are hungry for payback. All the expectations they put on themselves last year are back but this year the effort is there, where last season it wasn’t. They believe in punishing themselves to get the job done. They even managed to keep Wheeler away from Bourbon for two months and Guntis @Girts away from Megan Fox (not an easy task). This team wants to hurt opposing teams this season whether on the ice or on the scoreboard they will be battling for 72 games. Its CUP or bust for them so all VHL teams have been warned.
  13. Hello Marauders. Press Conference for week ending October 20, 2024. 1. The team’s roster is getting set up and we looked stacked on offense. What do you think of the defense? Do we need to add a player or should we give time for defenders to grow into their positions? 2. What are your player’s goals for the season? 3. Did you participate in any off-season tournaments? If so, how did your player do? 4. Currently Dog Jagr @koty_k is #27 in penalty minutes all-time for Miami with 104. Do you think at the end of his time here he will be #1 all time? 262 PIMS is current record. 5. Armas Jortikka @Kavadar is #10 overall in hits for Miami with 332. He is 206 hits short of tying the all-time leader. Can he take over the leaderboard this season? 6. What do you think the team’s identity will be this season?
  14. Another week closer to the start of the S96 season and the end to this miserable off-season. Not a ton going on in the league but there are some things I want to chat about to mow up 1000 words. First off, after about a year of almost clicking on “apply” for various AGM jobs I finally gained enough guts to click and apply for the AGM job in Miami. Such a great franchise and an exceptional GM there in @Ricer13 made it easy to want to go to work for the team to hunt for a championship while learning from one of the best. Part of me has always been hesitant because I feared I just didn’t know enough about the league (I still don’t) but there is only one way to learn, I guess. In that we already had a great locker room vibe in Miami, and it makes it easy to want to be part of such a great group of people. Since we're on the subject, let’s look at this year’s Miami Marauders! FORWARDS: With some great additions in the off-season the Pre-season rankings have the Marauders with the second-best offense going in. If all players stay and aren’t called up, Miami will have a formidable offense. Jacob Longstreet- @Dynamicmlb_42- returning to Miami for another year, Longstreet had 91 points in S95 to go with 142 hits. A true leader on the club and loves to win. Former two-time Founder’s cup champ he also has an Alexander Chershenko trophy, Ethan Osborne Trophy, and Mitch Higgins Trophy. Comes hard to practice each day and it will be no surprise to see him break the 50-goal mark. Elf Shoes @ELF_SH0ES- at 339 TPE he is the highest among the Miami roster. A Davos draft pick he played last season for a now defunct Oslo Storm where he scored 20 goals. Played in Miami in S94 and the team welcomed him back with open arms especially since in S94 he had 37 goals 42 assists for 79 points. With Elf Shoes on the wing for Longstreet they could be deadly. Luc Moreau @minman- The #6 overall pick in the dispersal draft LM returns back to his home in Miami where last season he sniped 20 goals in just 50 games. He can throw his weight around and move up and down the lineup easily. His best quality though is the fact that he stole a lot of my picks in a recent hockey fantasy draft!! LOL. We expect great things from Luc as he grows throughout the season. Armas Jortikka @Kavadar- Another former Marauder coming back from the E to join his club. 304 TPE to start the season Armas can easily fill the role of power forward for the Marauders. In S93 he had 26 goals and 160 hits and S94 he sniped 27 goals and 172 hits. Great addition to the club and brings that much needed grit to grind for 72 games. Andreas Andreasen @Rjdixon01- The 34th overall pick in S96 by the DC Dragons this 606 center is returning Miami for some more development. Last season he notched 18 goals 22 assists for 40 points. 70 PIMS and 183 hits will fit in nicely with a club who rewards players that play with some sandpaper in their game. Anthony Simmons II @Starchychaff- A Renaissance Cup to his name in the last season of the VHLE AS2 brings huge size at 608 and a winning attitude. A great locker room asset and some game changing skills. 331 TPE currently he will slot nicely into the lineup and put up some big numbers. 34 goals and 76 points in his last VHLM season for Halifax (S94). Miami fans are in for a treat with AS2. Danny Ross @Spartakiller2- A Miami staple, DR has played two seasons with the Marauders and really hit his mark last season. 34 goals 51 assists he is the playmaker that every team wants but rarely finds. Added to this he smacked 235 hits last season and 6 game winning goals. Grog Strongjaw @Grog Strongjaw- Probably the best name on the team Grog is a first gen drafted 25 overall. He has already made a name for himself in the locker room as a steady presence and has shown promise in earning that much needed TPE. A giant of a man at 608 and 230lbs he will slot nicely on any line. Guaranteed fan favorite. Jerry Box @barryst- The final forward on our roster is VHLM All-star Jerry Box. A do it all right winger he can hit, score, play defense, and most of all wins. Two-time cup winner in Saskatoon and Vladamir Boomchenko Trophy winner he is well over a point a game player and great veteran presence for the new Marauders. DEFENSE When we look at defense the Marauders aren’t quite as stacked as they are on forwards. This doesn’t mean they aren’t studs on the back end though. Don Jagr @koty_k- Another GIANT of a man and Marauder veteran he comes in at 225 TPE. Last season he played like a stud with 15 goals 48 assists for 63 points nad 219 bone jarring hits, 84 PIMS, and 148 blocked shots. Already after one full season he is almost in the top 25 of penalty minutes leaders for Miami all-time. I’m guessing after this season he will be near the top. Narnia Shaw @Dabnad- The 8th overall pick in this year’s draft by Helsinki this is a gold mine pick if he stays with the club and isn’t called up. Played 22 games with Miami last season and dominated. A pure leader on defense that can pass like few can. 59 assists last season with a whole off-season to condition and grow I can see him earning some defensive trophies in his future. LANDO @Lando10- at 608 250lbs he fits the mold in Miami. Big and nasty to play against. Currently 77 TPE but no update since Aug 11 has me worried, he won’t be around. Hopefully Lando fills into his size and punishes forwards all season. Kasper Saarinen @Gage2- Another Founder Cup winner from Saskatoon to join Miami and bring that winning attitude. Had a great season help quarterback the defense in Miami lastg season and scored a bunch. 18 goals (7 power play) 61 assists for 79 points. 191 hits and 162 blocked shots shows you what kind of player he is. No weaknesses in his game and he will only get better as season moves on. GOALIES No team in the VHLM can be successful without a good goalie. Miami has two goalies looking to take them to the next level this season. Draw Mac @okochastar- DM’s lucky number must be 11. He was drafted by Miami at #11 and this year’s draft to Helsinki at #11. Last season for Miami he was a work horse winning 35 games 21 losses, 9 OTL, with a .922 Save %, and 2.04 GAA. Added to this he had 7 shutouts. Great numbers that will only improve with some added TPE. Look for him to be the goalie looking to set some great numbers in S96. RicerFourteen @Bombshuka- A solid backup that started 50 games last season for Philly, winning 32 and only losing 15 games. .901 Save % and 2.56 this gives Miami a 1A option as the season progresses. There you have it! The S96 Miami Marauders. Best of luck everyone . 1240 words Will claim for Oct 20 and Oct 27
  15. ha. I'm pretty sure you'll be safe. forever
  16. I’m reading Assassin’s Code by Jonathan Mayberry. Book 4 of the Joe Ledger series. Pretty good also reading Tne Gray Man by Mark Greaney. Re-read for me but good story to get lost in.
  17. 1. Ninefingers likes to hit the weights with Guntis and avoid looking at his face 2.way more chest days. Hit Earls too much 3. Dublin Ireland 4. photo for sure. 5. the community 6. free TPE during off season. Like 10 free a week so I don’t have to write anything. Nice break
  18. I decided to pick a drafted player at random for a draft spotlight piece for my VHL.com article this week. To choose this lucky person I had my 6-year-old daughter point to the screen at a player and she chose the #12thpick overall for Helsinki, Kurt Bachmann @Blutch KB is a first gen which is always great to see one drafted so high. A 602 defenseman for Mississauga he currently has 182 TPE. He had a great season for the Hounds with 13 goals 53 assists 66 points. Added to this he cracked 226 hits and 120 blocked shots. A formidable stay at home dman who can add some points and make opposing forward’s life miserable. A good updater with the welfare mixed with other point tasks there is hope he will get to VHL sooner rather than later so Helsinki can utilize his skill set. Another season in VHLM awaits thought and he should have a great season. Congrats on the draft and my 6-year-old says, “hi.”
  19. Another week is almost done and not much has happened in the VHL. Pro-Am is near and I am excited to play for @VattghernCZ in his first stint as GM. The draft has occurred too which is always an exciting time, especially for first gens. I don’t have a ton to chat about this week so this might be all over the place but here we go. DRAFT Prague began their rebuilt with the obvious first overall pick Pan Daffleck @OrbitingDeath . They also grabbed Right Winger, Luc Moreau @minman and Don Jagr @koty_k, a 608 Dman who can put some points on the board. It also looked like DC got two steals in the 2nd round with Your Not Fucking Retiring @twists and winger, Wefernardo Mackingikus @vincentlg2007. Both had some decent TPE numbers an fell to the second round. Will teams regret this decision or did the scouts know something I don’t??? Moscow is a team that truly amazes me. Pretty much since I have joined in S81 they have been good. Lady Luck smiles on them and this draft is no different. They were able to move up in the draft and for another draft season they were able to pick stud dman, River Harrington @kirbithan and VHLM 50 game winner , Deadpanda @AlexAlex. Both are almost locks to have All-Star caliber players for years to come and to continue Moscow’s dominance. Anyway, congrats to all the draftees! Vancouver re-tools Roster GM @Frank ended last season unhappy at a club that disappointed even thought it was full of offensive talent. Changes were made and made swiftly. Here they are: Rip Wheeler @ScottyP moves to defense. In his final season of his up and down career, Rip played the “team guy, glue guy” motto to perfection and decided to help the club out by switching to defense, a position he hasn’t played since pee wee. This gives the team a decently placed player with enough TPE to be formidable at defense and to help out Trueno @Thunder and Gavilrovs @Girts. The team had no doubt this team player would do what it takes to bring a cup home to Vancouver in his final season. In net, they replaced their goalie Dalkr with sophomore tended Soju. Despite being named after a delicious beer he is set to lead the Wolves between the pipes. The kid can play and earns like a beast so the Wolves anticipate the shutouts (and beers) will flow. Matteo Stefano and Joe Block @jblock3 joined the club as well. Bbock brings a heavy game on defense and a good outlet passer to get this quick team out of the zone and on offense. 42 assists last season. Matteo @mmrs617 is a hidden gem. Great earner and 24 goal scorer in his rookie season he fits in nicely with the offensively minded club. Finally, they brought in the 608 sniper King Kisslinger @Kisslinger from Warsaw in a trade. KK can do just about anything on the ice offensively and doesn’t hurt the club at all defensively. 3 straight season with 30 goals or better and one season with 70 (yes 70) assists. Great locker room presence and brings a player re-united with several former teammates on previous players. Great addition from the GM! 544
  20. SWEET!!!
  21. 1. Probably Calaway since he's a high TPE man. Although all were great teammates and players so really hard to say. BUT, Ill tell you who were NOT going to miss and that is @ScottyP 2. King Kiss is a great pickup. Teammates with him in Warsaw. Great player and LR guy 3. We had a rough year keeping consistent scoring for sure. Dalkr would have been my pick just due to the 5 shutouts and amazing play. We just didn't help him out 4. It would be "THE LOAD" award for the player who we have to carry through the season for his bad play. YOU KNOW WHO 5. I wish him luck in Toronto but we have to light him up 6. Im stumped
  22. Transaction ID: 5Y287309ML080510W Doubles week $1 mil cash 5 uncapped
  23. 1. I like it so far. Will like to see how VHLM gets more parody with more players and I think it will make Lockers more active and enjoyable. 2. Huge! Always good to have players who want to be a team 3. I hope so I always root for Miami 4. Ive done a re-roll with Ninefingers to make him better. We will see 5. Lately I have been watching Friday Night Lights. older but like it so far. I really like the 1984 Karate Kid too. 6. TV shows that get too political Get enough of that garbage already
