  1. Let’s gooooooo
  2. 1. It’s really been a pleasure working and playing with you. I’ve learnt a lot of things including just playing with you in the short time I’ve been here. I’ve learnt by A to Z of the VHL and I really wish that in the future, you get a team which can win you the cup. I’ve learnt about how the league and how teams work and I wish to play with you again maybe in my next career 2. Pretty good choice to be honest, but as a Canucks fan I wished Bruce (there it is) was there. Maybe next year eh? 3. That’s a bit hard but I have to say pacific, this is because I think all the teams have the same skill level which makes it a bit competitive (unlike other divisions which have better teams but they’re balanced between better and worse teams) 4. Metropolitan for the same reason 5. Breakfast, I’ve never had lunch in my life before, makes answering the question a lot easier for me 6. Dogs, cats starch you can never do anything, dogs are active and a lot more fun. Dogs are also more popular in my city which adds a tiny bit of bias
  3. Hey everyone, I’m from the VHLM. My team, the Mexico City Kings, recently got eliminated. Now our team isn’t the oldest so it got me thinking, is it better to go in a winning team or a losing team? Now this might seem obvious, you want to win. However, when you’re starting off, do you really want to be winning all the time? I think that’s a no. If this happens, in the future you’d end up not likely get very mad when you lose which makes it hard for them to cope of losing than if they’ve experienced losing before. This is why, I think, that in the first 1-2 season playing on a worse team is better than playing for a good team. Now does this mean that I want to be on a losing team? Definitely not. What I’m trying to say here is that always being on a winning team is just the path to be on a losing team. After all even the greatest of players can’t win every year. I’m really happy that my team made the playoffs in the first place and winning a game would’ve been a big bonus but brining the best team in the division to overtime is also a job well done according to me
  4. Ah yes, a classic Florida man. Anyways let’s look at the picture. Nice picture with the face and he background blending together a bit and the background looks amazing with a classic beach look. The picture which you got also looks pretty nice. I do have some complaints in this as well. My first complaint is that the face and the bigger picture intervene together a lot which look really bad together such as that. I also don’t like how the bigger picture is so much bigger since the background is orange-yellow. Other than that a pretty good picture. 6.5/10
  5. Review time: I like the way you tried layering your pieces together, even if you didn’t have any photoshop software, you still tried your best. The layering of the player, logo, and Russia itself was very well popped out along with the name and number. I also like how the flag is slap in the middle of the background and other pieces of the picture. One complaint which I have with the picture is that the pictures pop up a bit too much rather than blending a bit which would often look better. 8/10
  6. I remember, when I was in science class I learned that the entire world is made from 5, five elements, five forces and many other things. This got me thinking, what are the five elements/parts of offence. For hockey, the answer isn’t that hard. The five elements of hockey would be: passing, shooting, face-offs , goaltending, and defence, but what about just the offensive scale. Now we can see that some things in hockey do apply but I’ll still be going through all five elements of offense. (These will be for wingers and not centers) 1 Passing I think that this one is the (or one of the) most obvious one here. Passing is the biggest part of hockey, you can’t win a game without passing the puck. If you decide to just not pass the puck the entire game, you will get stripped of the puck nearly every time you try to bring it up. Passing is ,by far, the most important parts of the game of hockey. 2 Shooting Shooting is the second most important part of the sport of hockey. Without shooting, you can’t do what you have to do, which is to get the puck to the back of the net, which makes shooting one of the most important part right after passing. Shooting is, again, one of the biggest factors for a player no matter the position. 3 Hockey IQ This is another important part of hockey. If you can’t figure out what your opponent is thinking, you can’t figure out what’s happening to the game. This might seem like a small thing when we talk about it however, when you go in game you realize that knowing what your opponent is thinking and being able to read the puck is a huge part of the game. Why is this so important you may ask? This is why: imagine you’re playing a game of hockey and you get a breakaway and it’s a 2-1 rush. Now you can see that the goaltender is right there and you also see that your teammate is wide open. You also realize that the defence player is right on your opponent. What would you do? Now here a person with a lower hockey IQ and higher hockey IQ would do different things depending on their, and the other persons, skill level but a person with an average skill level and hockey IQ would most likely just take the shot. 4 Puck Handling Puck handling is very important inside of hockey, in hockey you must know how to handle the puck before anything. If you can’t handle the puck then you’ll lose the puck anytime you get it which will make you more a liability on the ice. This helps the fact why this is one of 5 elements inside of an offensive player and why it’s important to know how to use a puck. 5 Skating Last but not least, skating. Skating is a thing which every ice hockey player must know. I’ll keep this short because it’s really not something hard to realize but when you’re on ice, you need to know how to walk on it. According to me, these are the five main elements to a game of hockey for a offensive player. These are all parts of the game which every offensive player must know to play professionally. I wish that if you have any opinions for this article please feel free to share it in the comments below. This is my third article in the VHL and this is Dabnad signing off. 598 words Week ending Jan 16
  7. 2. Really not too confident about this series as we are the way worse team at the moment however I think we could pull a game or two in our favour if luck favours us. I think the score will be 1-4 for Ottawa 3. Yes, I will be participating in both Junior Showcase and Pro/Am during the off-season 4. yep, I have prepared very well for most of the questions which will possibly come forward and I think I’m very prepared for the questions coming up 6. I have to say going out and playing cricket, my second favorite sport without competition in my area 7. Lol, you have some more to do. Though a bottle of coke does sound nice 8. I want to say phone but I’ll have to say gasoline cars, the rise of electric vehicles won’t let gasoline based products last too long in the market in the future when they become cheap enough.
  8. Review time! I like your picture as it has multiple layers for the background and the foreground and the transition between the 2 is also very evident. I like the tilt the player is put at which shows him turning on the ice rather than standing which also looks better. The text also looks good with the multiple fonts you used. I also like how the text blends well with the background. I really can’t think of anything bad in the picture. 9.5/10 (as they say there’s always room for improvement even when you don’t know what you can improve)
  9. Review time! First of all, I really like how you organized your paragraph into 2 sections: the start and first half of the middle, where you talk about stats and tpe and all the “nerdy” talk and the second part where you talk about your experiences in an interview like format. I also like how you talked in an interview format rather than a personal format. I wished you had used bolded wording on the the questions and underline on the stats. Overall great media spot. 8/10
  10. Many people try their best to win games, no matter what sport they’re playing. People never want to lose the game, unless it’s beneficial to them (a story for another time) or they’re paid. This is why there may be many guides on how to win certain sports or how to get better in certain sports however, what would happen if we made a guide on how to lose certain sports and then we followed the opposite of it? This would make the guide we have a lot more based on interpretation rather than just reading and processing. To follow this, lets look at 3 ways you can lose in the VHL/hockey. 1. Not getting TPE This is a simple way of not winning, you can’t win if you don’t get better, not getting TPE is a very simple way (not getting the tpe but getting better ) of not getting bette at VHL. This is because if you don’t train, then you can’t get good no matter how naturally skilled you are, I 2. Being Slow especially in ice hockey, skating is a very important part of the game. This is because if you’re slow, you won’t be able to catch up to the play. Being slow makes it so you fall behind in real game during the game 3. Being weak Ice hockey is one sport where being strong is as important as being skilled in the sport. This is because the physicality factor in hockey is one of the biggest factors and one of the best parts of the game. If you don’t follow this in hockey, you can be one of the best players in hockey without really being naturally skilled. This is Dabnad signing off until next week
  11. Review time: I like the picture overall with the border being very icey and looking well. It’s a overall nice picture however, I have some complaints. My first complaint is that the border and the background don’t transition making it a very awkward look. My second complaint is that the quality of the picture that is bigger is below average. My third and last complaint is that the text goes over the foot of the player in the background making it visible when you look at the text. Other than that pretty well made. 7/10
  12. Review time: I really like the graphic as it’s put very well in a slightly retro sense. It also gives us a well balanced look with the blending of the background and foreground done well (which is really rare in the instances I’ve seen). The name also looks very nice with a very well done cursive look. One thing (which I really don’t know how it came) that I dislike in the picture was a random line of purple just left of the picture. I don’t know why but it annoys me seeing it for no reason whatsoever. Other than that amazing graphic 9/10
  13. 1. Happy New Year! One thing I would want to bring into my team for the rest of the season is a more concrete defence with me improving my hit and blocking statistics. 2. One thing I want to try this year in real life is to get into a cricket club and play in it (and have a chance to get into the Canadian cricket team). 3. No not really, I mostly stayed home and watched television. 4. Yes, I’ve been trying my best to get 12 TPE every single week which I can which when I’m not too busy and so far, I’ve been slightly successful from last week. 5. That’s a very interesting question. I would probably name the planet with my mother/fathers name depending on how many moons there are (5+ moons would be dad and less than 5 would be mom) 6. I do in fact like staying up to midnight considering I’m often out of the house during New Year’s Day since the celebration in my hometown in amazing 7. Fitness is definitely the most broken New Years Resolution (including me) and I know many people who have broken it. 8. I would love the superpower of teleportation as it’s one of the most useful in the modern world.
  14. All hockey players know how positions in hockey work: Right wing, center, and left wing try getting goals, Left defence and right defence try to pass and get assists/blocks, and goaltenders stop the puck from getting in the net. This is all fine until the defence want to start attacking. We’ve seen this in many different places where the defence try getting goals and end up not focusing on defensive game however, what if a defensive player can shoot the puck more than they pass it? When they do this we’ll see that the team has, basically, an extra player on the ice but the biggest problem with this occurs when the player goes right in the middle of not being a offensive player (such as a right wing, center, and left wing) nor being a defensive player putting them right in the middle of the pact making them virtually half a player rather than being 2 players. This harms the team and the player since the team loses a player and the player loses their best ability while they think they’re getting better. This is why I believe a defensive player should be defensive rather than trying to 100% score goals like offensive players. This doesn’t mean that defensive players shouldn’t try to score, in fact I feel like defensive players should score to make a statement, however I believe that defensive players should focus more on their defence rather than their offense. 15. I really didn’t think of it that way. I was thinking about the skill level being inflated in the league as there is more skill in the league since there is more TPE. The goods in this are technically not limited (as you said) but when there is more and more of the good the value of it gets less and less. For example there are 2000 teslas on the road at the moment however, if there suddenly have 5000 new teslas the value of the Tesla goes down. That was really my point that the more of a good there is the less worth of the good. However, for next time I will think of what you said considering it’s very confusing of how I stated it.
  16. I think the banked TPE would be cash flow and the invested TPE would be the “goods” or skills in this case. I don’t think I made that clear in my article which is my fault
  17. I mean, there is a maximum amount of TPE you can get in a non-event if you join mid-season (no carrer tasks) week. 12 from capped, 2 from training, and I think 6 from fantasy. This means you can get a maximum of 20 TPE a week no matter what you do. This is what I was trying to refer to as ‘stock’ in the league.
  18. Hey everyone, it’s Dabnad again. Last time I posted in the forum I posted about my prior experiences here however this time, I wish to post an extension of a supplementary task. I will go over some basic reasons why the inflation exists (a summary of the other article) and then I’ll go into detail of how this inflation happens, and then I’ll go over an (non real life) example and a counter argument which I will debunk. I will use the country I’m currently living in (Canada) for all of these so I don’t get any replies saying this is political. Inflation in the VHL happens a lot. You can see this when people end up handing out TPE during the holiday season, as we saw last week with some members earning 40+ TPE in the week, which has people earning more and more TPE during certain weeks. This leads to the fact that the TPE earned in regular weeks has less of a value because of the amount of TPE earned putting more skill inside of the VHL. The biggest downside to this is the VHLM where newer members end up falling really short against those who earned TPE during the holiday season. An upside to this is that is really motivates those who are new in the leagues (and even those who are older) as they see they are getting free things however, some people just stop working which don’t help them or the league. Let’s look at an example of this effect. I will be taking Canada as a name example as I live there and I will be using base VHL numbers to make it user friendly. Lets say in Canada every week they print 12 dollars in the treasury for every single person depending on how much they work. For those who work more they can get some money extra from the government. Each week those who work more get richer and those who work less get poorer. It’s all fine as those who work more get more making them being able to spend more and the price of everything goes up just a bit. When the holiday season comes around, the government feels generous and they hand out money to everyone. They hand out 16 dollars to every single person who wants it and they provide a bonus to those who work. Now those who don’t work still get 16 dollars and those who do work get more than they originally got. This means that every single person in the country has more money to spend however, the amount of products in the nation is the same, this shows the economic fundamentals of supply and demand which is heavily used in this situation. Now that every single thing in the nation is more expensive, and those who worked as hard and got money from working suddenly see that the amount that they earn weekly is worth less as other people have earned a huge amount money as well. This shows that the amount of TPE/money in the economy/forum makes it so their money is worth less giving the working class less motive to work. A common argument which I’ve seen against this is that the people who don’t work get motivation to work due to the amount of money they got before from charity. To counter this argument I could easily say that motivation isn’t everything however, I will show you why this motivation is really useless in the long run and it only provides more inflation at the end of the season. Lets take Canada (from the last example) back here. The 16 TPE which people earned before is now in everyone’s bank which is ready to be used whenever they want to use it in many different ways. Now that there is so much money/tpe in the economy, those who were already working only get the motivation to work harder and try harder to earn TPE and those who were never working won’t work saying that they will end up earning more free TPE in the future and rock off of the welfare which they earn along with the easy fantasy tpe. This “motivation” just has people working LESS rather than more on average. This gives people motivation to work less than to work more inside of the VHL which adds inflation giving the “rich get richer and the poor get poorer” saying true inside of the VHL and VHLM. All of this shows that free tpe has never helped anyone no matter what you say however, a treat won’t make a big difference in the long term right? Well no. Looking at the stats, the more you get, the more you spend and the more you get better. All of this shows that this makes a difference in the long term, short term, and other terms. The only thing free TPE for everyone causes inflation in the VHL and VHLM economy harming everyone. Now again I’m definitely not against free TPE I think it is a free gift from the “VHL gods” and many people love the fact that fee TPE exists and 99% of people who those who get free TPE (including me) and who are at the start of their career, it really gives them a big boost and motivation to get the TPE as it puts them in a friendly league and this is definitely something I’ve experienced since just 2 weeks ago I was claiming welfare and last week I was the top TPE collecter in the VHLM which shows the motivation booster does work for those who are just new in their career and it’s a huge difference with that 40+ TPE which I earned and it’s giving me the motivation to write this very article. Again this is just an article for my opinion and again, I do believe free TPE is a very good thing especially when so many people donated to help the people in their community. Feel free to send your opinions about my article in the below comments and I wish everyone who reads my article likes this article. Again this is just my opinion and if you don’t like it please put feedback on how I can improve my writing skills. This is Dabnad signing out on my article. 1060 words Dec 27- Jan 2 Jan 3 - Jan 9
  19. I like the overall graphic as the colours which you added which, personally, blend together perfectly. I also like the small details you added in the background making the picture a bit more enhanced and I also like how you used the red and had it blend into the background which became a grey. One, big, complain which I have about this is in the name since we can’t see the first name when we look it just looks like “butts” which, at first glance, looks very inappropriate. 8/10
  20. Review I like the fact that you covered the entire trade from the Philly side and described the entire photo of the trade, you also showed each piece of the trade rather than just skimming over some parts. You also tried your best to show each part of the trade with the spreadsheet which you created. It’s also very well organized where you described each part without hesitation. My least favorite part (and trust me this was very hard to find) was the ease to read just the main points in such a huge articles so in the future, I suggest you don’t bold the entire thing and just some important points. Other than that the article was nearly flawless. 9/10
  21. Over the couple of days, we’ve seen a lot of TPE being handed out due to festival season. This has excited many people however, should we really be excited about this or is it an cause of inflation to the teams? This had made me think of this manner as a country. I’m saying this as even if we got 15 TPE so did the other team players. When we end up thinking of it this way we realise that the extra handout is identical to how inflation works in a country. The excess TPE just adds more skill to every team giving it to more diverse fields. All this may be true HOWEVER, you have to remember this 15 odd TPE can and will be a deciding factor in many new players inside this league. Many new (non-returning) players get encouragement seeing this extra TPE giving them mental strength. It also helps increase their numbers in the long term and for those who weren’t able to attend this week, it gives an advantage over them. So what do I think of extra TPE being handed out? I think that it’s a very good idea as it motivates the young population to get more TPE and helps those who might be busy in their lives. However, I do think it is the cause of a inflation of TPE inside of the VHL. Now that I’ve shown you both sides of the spectrum feel free to make your own conclusions for the inflation caused in the league.

  24. Hey everyone, it’s Dabnad here and I’m here to talk about some of my first experiences with the environment of this league name VHL. This article will include many different pieces of my experiences in here including (but not limited to): experiences with the people, team, and owners of the league. The first experience which I had in this league, which was even before I joined this league, was on YouTube from a video which I came from. I saw that this league looked like an amazing opportunity for someone who liked hockey which I thought was an amazing opportunity for me to join and have more people to relate with. Taking this into consideration I started creating a player and inside of minutes I was picked up by my current team (New Mexico Kings) in the VHLM. I got a notification in my inbox area and I thought it was an opportunity to start off this carrer. The second major experience which I had with this league was when I first signed with my team (the New Mexico Kings). When this happened I thought quick to join their discord as I knew this would be an easier way to communicate rather than having to use the messaging system inside of this website knowing discord was already a messaging app. As soon as I joined the discord I was greeted by multiple people, welcoming me to this league and to the community. This gave my brain a positive message that this will end up being a very fun and friendly league and I should give it my best not to let these people in my team down. The third major experience I’ve had inside this league was with the donation area which I found out scrolling though the home page of the league. As soon as I saw it I found that this league had collected a lot of money over the years as charity for different organizations around America and Canada and gave those who donated an award to congratulate them on their generosity to their nature. This melt my heart seeing how many people in this league do care about the people and communities around them. My fourth, and my last, major experience which I had with this league was the coordination in between the games and even during the games not bringing their teammates down no matter what happened. Recently, my team has gone through a very unfortunate time recently however, the team gm and age haven’t let our moral down giving us a lot of support to make sure that those who are very recent in the league don’t end up losing hope and make sure that newer players do their best to earn more tpe and they don’t give up no matter the circumstance. Overall, all my experiences with this league have been very positive unlike some other leagues I’ve visited. This league has always been a lot of help including sometimes where I messed up doing something, they’ve never been “mad” at me. All of this has given me a very positive perspective of this league. This is Dabnad signing off and I hope to see you soon 534 words (not including these) Claiming week 19-25
