Meta works well if every single person buys into it, which is death. For what it's worth, I also would have phoned in your pitch. Mine would have went a little bit like this: Yo Bananadick! Join the Halifax 21st man! Our team is absolutely dope this season, we've got tons of new guys who could use your positivity and mentorship, and you're obviously a big asset to any team. The downside is that we do already have 6 defencemen, so balancing ice time with you will be tricky. Realistically, you should join Mexico, Miami, or Saskatoon, because they're running pretty short at the moment and you could obviously help them out. At the same time though, fuck those teams! #BOATGANG

We're wanting to complete our roster with a fresh-faced talented centerman, and we think you would be a great fit for the team! We offer a strong roster with a good mix of new players and veterans, so you have people to grow alongside, and other people to learn from who are eager to help you get acclimated to the league and answer any questions you may have. (Which if I'm being honest, you don't need to be on any specific team for that last point. Most people here will be glad to answer question regardless of where your allegiances lie ) As I mentioned, our roster is filling up, so I can't guarantee you top ice minutes immediately. But we will do everything we can to make things fair for you and everyone else on the team, and with enough training and a little persistence, you can move up the depth chart and into a top draft position in no time. I'd be remiss not to mention that the Halifax 21st roster is looking stellar this season and will be competing for a Founder's Cup. That's perfect! Vasteras was always a cursed team in the league that we loved to hate. I'm glad we were able to bring in a new member who has that hate already baked in!

We currently have room for another two forwards, and I think bigK would be a great fit. As I mentioned, we've added a lot of young players and members lately, and we also have a solid core of second year players and veteran members. Which means that you'll have lots of people to learn and grow beside (and maybe even start friendly rivalries with ), and some old farts like myself to help you along with the process! With the rosters rapidly filling up, I can't promise you top line minutes off the start, though we'll certainly do our best to keep them as balanced and fair as we can. However, with some training combined with support we'll provide, you could potentially work your way up the depth chart, and at the very least we can groom you into a desirable prospect for the VHL and the VHLE! But they ought to be a solid team again with @thadthrasher behind the wheel, and you will in fact do great! - The waivers have been crazy! I'm definitely excited to see them integrate into the league. The two you highlighted are doing awesome as well, you love to see new members jump right into Point Tasks. - Also, you've been crushing it keeping up with the aforementioned waivers. - I personally consider anyone who joined 2019 or later a new member - I also think a warning would have been more appropriate in the Hogan situation. But that's coming from the member who has the more dirt in the archives than anyone else . I do love a good public shaming though. - "I'm sitting in my room at 4 in the morning..." Be careful with that. It's fun to let VHL consume your life, just don't let it COMPLETELY consume your life. - Do you remember what your old account name was? - It was fun to hear the history of your username and your Holdfast connections! - I don't think you ever destroyed the mic. There were a few times you got quieter (perhaps facing away from the mic), but other than that it sounded great the whole time. I have attempted this in the past actually. I planned a massive Tarentino-esque movie script, 1000+ words each, called "The Assassination of David." Or something like that. Perhaps if we had the rules we had today I may have actually finished it. Alas, writing ~1500 words every single week for 6 TPE was not sustainable, shockingly enough. Anyway, the nice thing about 500 words is that you can literally write about anything. Case in point: This media spot. You can write 500 words about how lemons are better than Vasteras. You can write 500 words about which VHL members you'd put in a human centipede, and in which order. You can write about why dark theme is overrated.

1. Sims start this week! As I ask before every season--predict your statline! First of all I'd like to point out how close I was last season: Anyway, I don't know where I'll go from here. I think I might be able to crack 10 goals, let's say 55 assists, 325 Hits, 175 SB. +/- is tough to predict but I think we can crack the positives this season! 2. I'd call our draft a success--despite only having 4th-round picks, we've had three draftees join our locker room! What's a piece of advice you'd give to these prospects, who are looking to beat the odds and make a difference? Just keep your head down and have fun. Don't stress about how far ahead some of your peers might be, it's never too late to step up your training and make a major impact on your team. My first and arguably best player was drafted with 12 TPE, and he went on to have a Hall of Fame career.
