  1. 1. What's your objective for the upcoming season ? I would love for Thorvaldsson to get ROTY, but I'm not sure that's entirely possible...we'll see! Otherwise, just doing what I can for LA. 2. Would you ever consider being a GM on the forum ? You already know 3. What was your favorite song growing up ? I'm not really too sure on that! I was told that as a toddler I loved it any time Whitney Houston played on the radio or TV. Teenager, probably Tool. 4. Throughout your entire life, which movie plot twist in a movie, book etc. shocked you the most ? So far, I think anything related to the series "The Boys" will fall under that... Just so many turns and plot twists that happen. 5. What movie do you think is underrated? Clerks. Both 1 and 2 are great, but 3 was kinda meh. 6. Have you watched anything involving the Olympics this year ? Yes! Things like the women's 3v3 basketball, some races, even gymnastics! It's been an awesome Olympics to watch.
  2. The Presser Week Ending 4 August 2024 1. Welcome to the next episode of the Presser! This week we had the VHL and VHLE drafts! A.) Was your player drafted, or B.) Did you participate in either of the draft streams? 2. What's the best part of being selected in the VHL draft? 3. Is your player in any of the off-season tournaments? 4. Which animal is your player's favorite? 5. How would you feel about VHL Olympic Games every 4 seasons? 6. Is there anything in the Olympics you usually watch?
  3. I'd be curious to see an updated graphic of this same class now that some of the rest of us will be going into our rookie year this season
  4. Maybe Thorvaldsson will be Soju's defender one day
  5. Hey everyone! Welcome to my first ever jersey retirement ceremony posting, and hopefully will have another to do in a somewhat distant future as I'm in a rebuild. Season 90 was the year the Prague Phantoms finally brought home the Continental Cup under the wing of @Acydburn. Perry Laperriere is already in our rafters, but it's time to add a few more incredible players that have since retired after my GM appointment. Starting with probably the most obvious. #19 John Jameson @Frank Seasons 86 - 93 Accolades: S86 - Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy S89 - Scotty Campbell Trophy S89 - Scott Boulet Trophy S93 - Alexander Beketov Trophy S93 - Mike Szatkowski Trophy S93 - Scott Boulet Trophy S88 Victory Cup S90 Continental Cup John Jameson will go down in history as the best forward for Prague for a very long time. Outside of his individual awards, he has topped the franchise charts for most goals (328), assists (433), points (761), plus/minus (+262), PIMs (1097), hits (1821), shots (3622), and GWGs (59). Truly a phenomenal player on the ice and in the locker room. It would be tragic to see a player of this caliber not be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the future. #20 Nikolas Kauppi @Tetricide Seasons 87 - 93 S88 Victory Cup S90 Continental Cup 504 Games Played, 243 Goals, 308 Assists, 551 Points, +190, 2937 SOG, 287 PIM, 563 Hits, 190 Shots Blocked, 44 Game Winning Goals If there was a Leon Draisaitl on the Phantoms, it was Nikolas Kauppi to accompany the "McDavid" John Jameson. Despite no awards to back up his performance (a couple nominations but not enough votes for a W, and his last season he was down a goal for the Kevin Brooks), Kauppi would prove time and time again to be an excellent supporting wingman, especially in the Cup winning playoffs series with a total of 18 points. #72 Velociraptor Greg @samx Seasons 87 - 92 S88 Victory Cup S90 Continental Cup 432 Games Played, 95 Goals, 280 Assists, 375 Points, +178, 725 PIMs, 941 Hits, 1318 SOG, 831 Shots Blocked, 20 Game Winning Goals Velociraptor Greg may not have started with the Phantoms, but certainly was a key piece in their successes. A heavy hitting defenseman with great hockey sense and an uplifting spirit in the locker room, it's a no brainer that Greg would eventually earn their A and was well respected on-and-off the ice. Greg's defensive prowess and grit in the season 90 playoffs was monumental in Prague's success to lifting the Cup and their name will be forever engraved on it to remind future playoff contenders what it takes to be named a Champion. #00 Matt Murdock @Acydburn Seasons 89 to 93 Accolades: S87 - Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy (MOS) S90 - Daisuke Kanou Trophy S90 Continental Cup 320 Games Played, 177 Wins, 0.928 Save Percentage, 14 Shutouts, 11,017 Shots Against vs 797 Goals Allowed Matt Murdock is another player that didn't have a full career with Prague, but the trade to get him here couldn't have come at a better time. His first season with the organization proved he could be the goalie to get the Phantoms their first ever Cup with some adjustments in his training and also the right players in front. ...And he did just that. In season 90, not only did the Prague Phantoms finally win their first ever Continental Cup, but Murdock was awarded the playoff MVP. Murdock was a pivotal goalie, shifting Prague from just a playoff contender to playoff champions. Congratulations to our new jersey retirees! Thank you all for your time, contributions, and sacrifices to Prague.
  6. After considering all the applicants, I decided to stick with my original plan of bringing someone in with some experience. Some of you know him as a Mississauga Hounds GM legend who brought their first ever Founder's Cup home... The rest know him as... I'm really looking forward to all the great things you'll bring to this organization during this crucial part of our rebuild process, as well as helping bring home future Continental Cups!
  7. Youre Not Fucking Retiring played in the M last season, so yeah you get the 3 for your player.
  8. Applications closed.

  10. Hi there! Welcome to a new segment I've created called "The Presser" with me! Bobbus Dingus! I get to sit down with some of the best players in each of the leagues and pick their brains! We will start with this week's episode, ending 28 July 2024. 1. Welcome to the show and thank you for taking time out of your busy day to do this! The draft is right around the corner for each of the leagues. If you're already in the VHL, are there any prospects in the pool you're hoping your team drafts? If you're a future prospect, have teams started reaching out to you yet and are there any teams you're wanting to play for most? 2. Following the drafts will be the Training Camp! For those in the VHL or about to play their first season, who are you looking forward to training with and do you have any new tricks you want to work on? 3. How good or terrible does your team look as far as being able to compete in next season's playoffs? 4. Do you have any vacation plans this summer, and if not then what projects are you working on? 5. What would you imagine your team's mascot would look like? No bonus points if you give it a name, but puns and play-on-words are totally welcome here! 6. How many teams will Manuel Ceson play for in the Minors before playing in the E? That's all for this week! Thank you once again for your time and I'll see you next week!
  11. Hello, everyone! I first want to say thank you to my now former AGM @MSouthworth -- you're an awesome person to work with and be around and don't regret my decision at all to hire you on. I hope your life workload lightens up sooner than later. With that said, I am looking to hire on an AGM again. I will put it out there and say I currently have a preference to those who have some experience with GMing, but I am NOT going to limit my candidates with that in mind. Anyone can apply for this position. Expectations: - Fairly active - Locker room involvement - Weekly press conference - Draft and trade discussions - Draft picking and sending/accepting trades in my absence with my approval - Line suggestions and changes. This could include making changes in STHS if the candidate is familiar with the app or would like to learn. Please respond in this thread if you are interested!
  12. Appreciate the heads up buddy. Like I tell a lot of people -- life comes first before this fun hobby we do Don't be a stranger in the locker room.
  13. I just need to use you as a cheat sheet at this point. Not complaining about my 9, but like...13 is better
  14. Sason 94 with a wolf that has 3 arms is gonna be siiiick! Gotta love AI generation Amazing selection of GMs. Congrats and good luck!
  15. PRAGUE PHANTOMS PRESS CONFERENCE WEEK ENDING 21 JULY 2024 1. What's poppin', Prague?! The season is coming to a close soon, which means we have off-season tournaments to look forward to! Are you looking forward to possibly participating in any? (Prospects may be eligible for WJC, most players should be eligible for the WC!) 2. What does your player do in their off time until training camps start? 3. We're celebrating the VHL's 17th birthday this week! How cool is it that this community has been alive for that long and will continue for many more? 4. How has the experience for your player been so far? 5. Do you use Q-Tips for your ears after a shower? 6. How has the summer fared for you?
  16. Happy birthday VHL!

Welcome to Prague @Sen @Is_thatok and @MandyManiac! Happy to have you onboard.
  18. I looked before deciding which team to use, they are the only VHLM franchise not to move cities since the start! Franchise History - Google Sheets
  19. The image can be enhanced to view in its original size, which is massive compared to my usual canvas sizes...but I also normally just do forum sigs. ...I am not gonna lie, it's not something that crossed my mind, but now that you mentioned it yeah it looks weird without spacing below the bottom banners.
  20. Houston won't be the same...again. Thanks for everything you've done for HTown and the M. Now go get that CUP MAH BOI
