HOUSTON BULLS PRESSER! Hello and welcome fellow Bulls to the beginning of S87! I am the new AGM and I will be tossing out press conferences for you to check out this season. I am hoping to get to know you and your players and what your thoughts are on the season as we go! Be sure to give me more than a couple word answers as I love to read and also appease our updater overlords! Answer three questions for 1 capped TPE or all six for 2 capped TPE! For the Week Ending Jan 22nd, here are your questions! 1. What do you think of the Bulls starting roster for this season? 2. I am a new AGM, what do you like to see from your AGMs? 3. What stats are you most focused on for your player? 4. Where do you think we will land in the standing this season and why? 5. How did you come up with your player name? 6. Do you prefer a city or a small town and why? Let's Go Bulls!

Answers 1. July long weekend! Weird but my family always gets together at the cabin and I take 2 weeks off work. It is a ton of fun and very relaxing. 2. I am playing No Man's Sky lately but I switch up quite often. Some NHL, trying out Outriders with my wife as well. 3. I've not played in the VHL yet but I was drafted by the London United so I am excited to make my way there after this season! Questions 1. What did you spend your off season doing? 2. What team has the coolest looking logo in the VHL? 3. Who is you're favorite player in any league that isn't yours?
-
It is always awesome to see new people join! I am not a veteran here but I want to see the league succeed as much as it can so new players are where it's at! Glad you have joined us here and I hope to see more from you!

Hall of Not Bad, Volume 3: Jakab Holik (and Ariel Weinstein!)
Triller replied to Gustav's topic in Archived Media Spots
After this write up, my player now has something to realistically strive for! If HoF isn't in the cards, HoNB looks like an ok place to for Leonard to drift off into obscurity. Amazing write up and I now know more about a non HoFer than I do about any HoFer. You present the facts and enough information to make a case either way for Holik and after reading it all I can definitively say that he is...a candidate. Unfortunately after this long, the induction class might have to be weak for a long time ballot rider to finally get his dues against more modern candidates. Again, a great read and a fun history lesson. Being a first gen, it is great to read about the history of the league in any context. Would be cool to have informative, old articles pulled out of the archives and featured once a week or something. A snapshot of the times. 10/10 article! Thank you for the effort put in. I need to read the others now! -
Thank goodness Landon went the vlog route and not the "private" vlog route if you catch my drift! Make that dough!

Oh nice! I really like these kinds of graphics that create realism for the VHL brand. Tickets, magazine covers, game day lineup brochures and all that stuff! Very cool and very well done. It is simple but it shows off how well you did the logo swap and doesn't add too much of those grungy textures. The text is perfect. Big, bold and clear. Only critique I have would be to swap out the shoulder patches. Small details like that can really make a big difference! Overall I really like it! Very cool, 9/10!

BRING BACK THE CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER, This is why
Triller replied to UnknownMinion's topic in General Discussion
I plan on making one anyways and didn't even know the site banner was ever a competition lol it will be submitted piece by piece and then all the elements will come together for the last big picture. -
It was fun putting my own name on the Founders Cup, I want the same for this lol
-
So, here we are, the Renaissance Cup! I am slowly making my way through the championship trophies here and the VHLE is up next! I went with something a bit more regal than the Founders Cup but still wanted to keep them looking like they are cohesive. I messed with putting handles on the cup but it took away from it more than added and without it is much cleaner. Went with silver badges and black lettering as well as a gold interior to the cup. I wanted it to resemble a giant chalice on display. The dark wood base to gives it some extra character. Thank goodness for the only 7 seasons so far! Much easier to contend with though the record keeping could have made it a bit easier! This trophy is future proof with the ability to hold the teams and names involved with 36 seasons of future championships. The E gets a bad rap at times but it won't get better unless we try to make it better. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was this trophy so give it time! Hope you all enjoy and congrats to the championship teams who are immortalized here! I hope the LRs who win, celebrate with this in whatever way they'd like! This is what you are playing for in the E!

I usually review graphics but I really like this concept! It would be awesome to even just have milestones to reach that come with badges for our player page. I know we could keep track manually but milestones that auto update so we can see how close we are to completing one and earning a badge would be really cool! Might have to design some badges for sigs or something. Now to all the stat boosts and their names! Really well thought out with unique bonuses too. Fun names and "Anti-Clicker" is a favorite lol I'm sure this would take some work to implement but I think having more to strive for to make your player standout would be awesome! For review, 9/10 concept and something that would be really fun to have!

It is a good suggestion for sure, one that may be hard to find users to facilitate it. It takes awhile to create graphics and to come up with good writing ideas so to have the extra time to also "mentor" someone else would be hard. If we pay the "mentor" enough TPE so they don't have to worry about their own work then we may have an issue where experienced writers and artists aren't posting to the forums as much or not at all. I do like the idea of showing people the ropes. It might be a good video to make? An experienced writer or artist can record a tutorial talking about their writing process or an artist can record themselves working on a graphic and submit it for TPE but to also have it marked as a tutorial. Could help new people figure out what programs they can use and how to use them. I have done this before for start up companies learning the Unreal Engine for cinematics but the only thing is that they take longer than you'd think to plan out and record.

1. Feelin great! Didn't think it would be so exciting but it is! AS you play through the season remember, defending cup champions. Marlins got that swagger now. 2. Felt good! Played like the regular season so it would have been nice to up the game a bit but we were stacked so everyone did their part. 3. I am heading to the Geneva Rush as well as now AGM'ing the Houston Bulls so I am leaving but staying in a way! Marlins will be tough to beat! 4. The Founders Cup of course! I was happy to see that a lot of people liked my rendition of it as well! 5. Couple more Marlins graphics, jersey and logo for Team Canada for the WJC as well as for the Geneva Rush. Couple things for the Bulls as well now! Working on the Renaissance Cup model too! Trying to get ahead a bit this off-season. 6. Philadelphia Grouse! It is their state bird after all and we could probably get a better logo out of it than the Reaper one. Plus,. I am sure Lemorse and Piffer would love it!

1. With a new baby I need to try to keep fit. I am in a good place so I just need to maintain or get a bit stronger so I can keep up when my baby gets older! 2. The Calgary Flames fans are very passionate about their team. I can always give props to that. Loved Iginla back in the day! 3. I'm working on creating all the league cups as well as a jersey turntable and new logo for Team Canada in the WJC which my player is in! Also working on 2 more Marlins graphics and my Geneva Rush jersey Turntable. Trying to get ahead a bit! QUESTIONS 1. Would you rather live in extreme heat or extreme cold? 2. What do you want to accomplish in your VHL players career or in your time here as a member? 3. Do you like meme name players or do you like to keep it more real?

Thank you to all that made it happen! Much appreciated!

In Commemoration of the S86 Founders Cup Victory
Triller replied to jacobcarson877's topic in Archived Media Spots
No no, there is space! -
Yeah, sorry for the no AGM! I went with the HOF names. Going forward, I can ask for the AGMs or get them off the team page hopefully if I make the updates every season but thank you for the compliments! I can add you now but you won't see the updates till after next season cause I don't want to re-render all these and upload again.

I wanted to give everyone a closer look at the Founders Cup I made. It was based off the HOF trophy image used to represent the Founders Cup on the forums and then I made a few modifications. The trophy base holds 22 plaques that include this years S86 Champions Marlins team back to S65's Minnesota Storm. Each plaque has the teams GM along with the players on their roster as well as the teams logo at the time. Hopefully I got all the old logos and names correct! I went with a spiral design in the middle to represent the "wild ride" that is the VHLM. With teams changing so rapidly and new players joining frequently, anything can happen and a team can go from the bottom to the top in less than a season. If you have had a player who won the Founders Cup in the last 22 seasons, their name is on there. As new teams win, the oldest plaques are removed and preserved in the HOF while the new teams are added. They are placed on the base in an order that made sense to me at the time and they will stay that way cause I made it! Will I update this every season...I am not sure. It took some work and though I have made it in a way that makes it easier to move plaques around, updating it all depends on my life. I plan on creating the Renaissance Cup and the Continental Cup as well. I want teams that win to have something to celebrate with.

As a recent Founders Cup champ...yes to this!

Leonard Triller Prospect Scouting Report
Triller replied to Triller's topic in Prospect Scouting Report
Modeling, rigging and posing done in Maya, texturing done in Photoshop and I use MetaHumans and the Unreal Engine to pose my characters face, lay everything out and render it off! I am used to all the programs but it does take me a good chuck of time! -
Leonard Triller Prospect Scouting Report
Triller replied to Triller's topic in Prospect Scouting Report
Just checked out the formatting on my phone lol gees. Can't have it work everywhere I guess! -
Prospect Scouting Report Name: Leonard Triller Position: RW Height: 6’3" Weight: 210 lbs Place of Birth: North Battleford, Saskatchewan Preferred Number: 14 After late waivers during his debut S85, Leonard Triller chose to play for his hometown team, the Saskatoon Wild led by GM @Bulduray_1. Being new to the league, playing close to home helped Leonard adapt quickly and improve his game significantly. He continued his development as a 2-way, Power Forward with a flair for playmaking while playing on the 2nd and 4th line along with special teams. He managed almost a point per game. Leonard likes to throw his body around amassing 116 hits in his stunted, 55 game season. He also managed to sign a sponsorship deal with the custom hockey stick company KGW. This deal is ongoing. VHLM - Regular Season Season GP G A P +/- SHT PIM HIT SB GW PPG SHG 85 (SSK) 55 14 38 52 7 202 42 116 27 2 2 0 After being swept in round one of the playoffs with the Wild, Leonard Triller's post season play was relatively unknown heading into the offseason. VHLM - Playoffs Season GP G A P +/- SHT PIM HIT SB GW PPG SHG 85 (SSK) 4 0 1 1 -3 13 2 7 2 0 0 0 During the offseason, Leonard participated in the Junior Showcase Tournament and was drafted by GM @RElblein of The Royals at 26th overall. Leonard had a good showing at the tournament. After a few games In his forward position, Leonard offered his services on defense when it was asked of the forwards to help bolster the back end. He was happy to put his defensive capabilities to the test. Junior Showcase Tournament Season GP G A P +/- SHT PIM HIT 85 (ROY) 41 4 27 31 0 73 64 100 In the S86 VHLM Dispersal Draft, Leonard Triller went 31st overall to the San Diego Marlins. GM @jacobcarson877 had this to say about his late draft steal. "This must have been a gift from Simon himself. The top TPE forward in the draft, falling to me at 31st overall. There must have been some confusion about his eligibility because this guy is a graphics machine, a great LR guy, great earner and a dominant player." Leonard was also drafted 8th overall by the Geneva Rush of the VHLE then 11th overall by the London United of the VHL. *The VSN Scouting Mock Draft had projected a 15th overall pick to the Moscow Menace. In regards to the pick by the Rush, @Bobo wrote in the VHLE Draft Recap of S86: "They drafted Marlins right-wing Leonard Triller at eighth overall–a shining star for San Diego that scored 52 points and 38 assists last year. He will show up and show out for the Rush this season with his incredible playmaking ability and capability of quarterbacking an offensive rush from both ends of the ice." In regards to the pick by the London United, @sadie graded it a B+: "Triller is from what I've seen a fun person and someone you'd definitely want on your team and in your LR! They are a pass-first forward (which we don't see too many of) and they are excellent on and off of the puck." With high expectations, Leonard entered S86 ready to bring a full season of production to a very solid lineup in San Diego. His contributions matched those from his first season in Saskatoon while playing mostly on the second and fourth lines and also working the power play. He again brought a physical presence along with a penchant for passing. VHLM - Regular Season Season GP G A P +/- SHT PIM HIT SB GW PPG SHG 86 (SDM) 72 25 38 63 16 236 36 138 3 3 1 0 Triller ends his regular season career in the VHLM with 39 goals and 76 assists for 115 points along with a trip to the playoffs on a very strong Marlins team. During the playoffs, his productivity stayed consistent with his regular season contributions and in turn, helped the Marlins bring home the Founders Cup. His physical presence kept the Marlins motivated and his playmaking kept them scoring. Leonard is looking to vastly improve in the offseason and head into Geneva as a VHLM Founders Cup Champion with a large amount of experience. VHLM - Playoffs Season GP G A P +/- SHT PIM HIT SB GW PPG SHG 86 (SDM) 16 2 8 10 3 44 4 31 1 1 0 0 At the end of season 86, Leonard Triller was selected to represent Team Canada at the World Juniors in the off-season. PROs Leonard Triller quickly and consistently improves his game. He is a student of the sport and improves where he can as quickly as he can. Very strong playmaker with good vision on the ice. Selfless player with an ability to set up his teammates. Very positive influence in the locker room. A young player himself, he still brings a teaching mentality to anyone less experienced. Big physical player who brings it at both ends of the ice. Shutting down a top line is as important to him as a game winning goal. A team first player who will sacrifice individual success if it means team success. CONs Pass first mentality can cause frustrations when open shots should be taken. Triller can get too fancy with his playmaking when a shot would do. His enthusiasm can cause him to take on more responsibility than he might be able to handle and may need to dial back to avoid burnout. Triller's relaxed and casual demeanor can come across as uncaring towards tough losses and can rub teammates the wrong way.
