This is pretty cool! How does it work? Are the teams a mix of players from each league or are the teams separated by league and all play each other? What ensures that the teams drafted aren't just filled with the highest rated VHL players? Sorry, newer here and just curious!

When I came across the site I thought it would be a fun opportunity to use some of these 3D skills I have. Getting to mess with the metahuman stuff for the Unreal Engine has been really cool!

1. To be honest, I do not know how the playoffs work in the VHLM! If the conference's are combined and high plays low, I am gonna go with Ottawa. I think it would be a big challenge but a do-able one. 2. Defense. More concern for our +/-. In a league where most just look at goals, if we can shut some players down, it would make a big impact. 3. The Aces. The loaded up their roster and have been rolling heavy. Would be nice to be the team that stops their run though! 4. Regular season goes out the window. You get to see who stands up under pressure and can win when it counts. Do or die! 5. I'm a morning guy. Night was for when I was young. 6. Summer for sure! Where I live you don't get outdoor rinks most of the time anyways and without the dark tan, I can only be tall and handsome!

It was awesome to be a part of the push for the Wild and hopefully the playoffs show Leonard Triller to be a player who can step up. Not knowing what next season will bring makes it even more important to make some noise in the playoffs. Excited for post season play!

Congrats to all the GMs and AGMs! Leonard Triller would be honored to play for any of you... that have cool team names that aren't pickles or clue lol jk

1. Ottawa Lynx. Looks like with an almost full roster they will be a threat. Not sure why so many players signed there though. 2. Leonard is shaping up to be a Power Forward with a flair for hits and assists. I would say, Hyena. Not the king of the jungle but an important park of the ecosystem who can still throw its weight around. 3. I would have to go with Alexander Minion. Taking on the full weight of that position without backup is amazing. We have some big point players but they can feed off each other. Defensive forwards aren't very prominent in the league it seems so there is less help on the backend. 4. The Oilers all the way! They have the pieces and they really need to put it all together in the next 3 years. 5. 80% mental, 20% physical. Most of the physical aspect takes a lot of mental stability. Being able to push forward and dedicate yourself to reach that physical peak is purely a mind game. 6. McDonald's, I am a cheap date!

Thanks for the review! I actually used 3D software for this. I modeled and rigged my players body and equipment in maya in 3D and then created his head using metahuman. I pose him using the rig I created and then I imported all of it into the Unreal Engine where I then lit and rendered it out. I created the textures for Leonard's uniform and stick using photoshop so when you say the logo rests well on the jersey, it is because it is actually on his jersey!

I've read a few things posted that mention retention of users being an issue on many aspects of the site. I made sure to look around first before creating a player to see if this was something I would be interested investing time into so that I wasn't putting a team out if I joined. Hard enough to get waiver players to sign, so signing one that goes MIA would be frustrating. Drafting one would be even worse.

Was it posted by the @glassguy that was called out above? The mystery continues! I would love to find out the method used for that stitching. I have ways of achieving roughly the same look but they are pretty tedious. If there was a quicker way it would really up the detail in my 3D renders!

I think I may be putting in too much effort for my TPE.

1. We have been getting scored on quite a bit and since most of our players are goal focused, our back-check is likely lacking so bringing on a solid D-man should alleviate that for sure! The push starts now! 2. As far as I can tell, Leonard is doing alright! First player I've made and he currently isn't as focused on goals as the others but hopefully that playmaker role has room in the sims for a player not just trying to top out in goals but who loves to set up his teammates. 3. The Hounds? lol I am guessing the Reapers. It really is a toss up between them and the 21st but those OT losses might make the difference. Not winning those close ones add up. 4. Teamwork and being happy for someone else success. You don't always need to be seen as the best and you won't always be seen as the best. The spotlight will shine on someone else and as a good teammate, you celebrate with them. Their success is the teams success. Keep your ego in check. 5. Caramilk or Reese Peanut Butter Cups! 6. Leonard Triller doesn't believe in superstitions. Life makes unexpected turns and you need to be able to roll with the punches. If tying your right skate before your left causes you to have a bad game, you may be blaming the wrong thing and won't improve.

As a newer member to the VHL, I have noticed that unless you really dig into the forums to find the information on the point tasks or threads on player builds or even just how all of this works, quality posts aren't usually highlighted to make players want to be active. You can sort by most reactions and all that but I've noticed that just because it has reactions and replies doesn't mean it is good, just that the poster is more well known around the forums. Seeing that would lower the excitement to engage for newer players. This obviously doesn't include pinned topics which even still, are only found under their main forum. Even those that do point tasks with graphics or media spots are VERY likely to just post for the points and that is the extent of the engagement since they don't see much else from it. No reason to engage further or to even check out others posts. A weekly, community highlight would probably help to show some of the cool stuff that is created in the forums and might increase engagement. Highlight those that aren't just swimming in reputation already but show new players that they are part of a community rather than watching one. Not directly addressing the "bots" claim lol but something that may help show off the forums.
