  1. One less than before this trade
  2. Hmm.. maybe I can try something.. Wow New York sure sucks!
  3. I don't really think it would reduce tanking though. I still think the optimal strategy would be to stockpile picks. People don't like to be competitive if they don't have a good shot of winning, and I doubt that changes much at all if we have all teams making the playoffs.
  4. No, we need no more goalies! I want to be a hot commodity!
  5. I don't know, maybe BO5 or BO3. I think that'd be better than a single game. To be honest, I think we should maybe ditch conferences even if we stay at eight and reduce playoffs to four or five teams.
  6. Five teams in the playoffs with 4/5 playing an extra series to determine who plays against 1, similar to the MLB wildcard game.
  7. Moving forward, the goalie situation is what I would call interesting. After S52, we will be seeing the retirement of Weinstein and the Cleganes, with Rubber Band and mist4ke entering via the draft. S52 will see the addition of M.T. Power, Edwin Threeencarnacion, and Rhett DeGrath to the active goalie list. These five prospects will be the future. Apollo Skye is also still young as an S51 goalie, so let's group him with these folks as the future talent. After the S45 goalies retire, players like Jakab Holik, Ilya Kopralkov, and Dmitri Dadonov will have a chance to win something. Artom Zhumbayev may still be kicking around but his inactivity will make him a very unappealing goalie especially once regression starts to hit him (it will start to do so in S52). One thing that is making this setup particularly interesting is that Threeencarnacion has declared that he intends to be a career backup. Whether or not he ends up sticking with this plan, I do not know. Personally, I would never do anything like this. I will, however, be taking a bit of a different approach to being a goalie with my player, mist4ke. At this point in time, I intend to go to free agency after three seasons, and I will only be signing one-year deals from that point on. While some players have already done this, I don't think it's been done as a goalie. The idea isn't necessarily to try to win as many cups as I can. More so, it's the case that I want to experience different things. Sure, one season I may sign with a top team that happens to need a goalie. The next season I might sign with a team similar to New York or Stockholm this past season and just see what will happen. Here's an unrelated fact: the smallest span of seasons in which a team has won four cups is 13. From S18 to S30, Calgary won four cups. Just a fun fact for ya. for mist4ke
  8. Cologne is one season younger as fuck.
  9. Why would all teams make the playoffs? I don't really like that idea. I think we just need to put four teams in there, which I agree with Jardy when I say we should already be doing.
  10. That already is the case. Each team has 11 games against two teams and 10 games against the rest. Actually, with seven teams it would be 12 games against each other team equals 72 games. Season length would stay the same AND it would equalize the schedules.
  11. That's actually how I checked. I looked at my cup count spreadsheet to see if you had any cups together.
  12. Alexander Labatte and Jason White in Toronto.
  13. I updated this here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16y4xZgjWmBtUnmjI68cvruA1xYUhnDDcsDxZ54BuEIY/pubhtml#
  14. Yeah, I made a few goofs here. Trifecta had a second player in S52, not S53; Rubber Band was just a new player he created. Same with Edwin Threeencarnaion for YEAH! who I had mistakenly included in the list of GMs who were receiving a second player. And then also the exclusion of hedgehog. I blame Jardy.
  15. It was off the top of my head and I didn't remember you having created a second player. I blame Jardy.
  16. I don't know why there is this assumption that we'll be cutting any VHLM teams this season. Maybe we will be, maybe we won't be. Maybe there are bigger changes in store. But ADwyer returning may have hurt the chances of the Yukon Rush staying in the VHLM if we do cut a team from each conference, as Saskatoon isn't the easy out that it would be without a GM. Although I wouldn't agreed previously that Yukon would make the most sense to get rid of, ADwyer did go inactive and abandon his post. Actually though I don't think he was gone very long. I could go find out, but whatever, I don't care enough about that. Here's a different topic: the S53 crop of 'second players' includes four VHLM GMs. The first class was noted for having several VHL GMs get selected to make a second player: Molholt, Greg, Toast, and Daniel (who is no longer a GM). For the next group, it's the VHLM GMs turn. Four of us were lucky enough to get a second player: myself, ADwyer, hedgehog, and Jardy, oh my what a marvelous tune for Maxwell I suppose
  17. http://www42.zippyshare.com/v/wJV8X4dc/file.html I talk about some things that I noticed. Mostly some Continental Cup fun facts I guess. Note: when I am discussing the members who have won 7 cups, I accidentally had Molholt at just 6 so he was excluded from that bit. Song: Butthole Surfers - Pepper for mist4ke
  18. Oh hey thanks for this. Made me realize a mistake I just made when I updated the continental cup counts spreadsheet.
  19. That's why we gotta sign Hamilton before we draft Shankly!
  20. hmmm... @ADwyer87 you can go on ahead and leave for a couple days
