  6. Wranglers Bears Dynamo Meute
  7. I had no knowledge of the game, but looking it up, the anime (and manga) were indeed based on the game.
  8. When I name my players, there's (almost) always meaning to it. Both the first and last names will be derived from my interests, often with multiple references being made. Samuel Gate is certainly an example of this, more so the surname. Samuel is simple; it's my name in real life! While I typically go by Sam, and it would've been easy enough to name my player Sam Gate, I figured I may as well go with Samuel. Obviously he can still be referred to as Sam, but I do like the sound of Samuel Gate more than Sam Gate. Gate is more referential, but perhaps still less significant (given that Samuel is literally my name). I would say the primary source of inspiration is the anime Steins;Gate, with two other minor anime influences: the Testing Gate (from Hunter x Hunter) and the Gate of Truth (from Fullmetal Alchemist). Further, there are multiple Mega Man references in the name Gate. In Mega Man Battle Network 2, there is a navi named GateMan.exe. This is second in terms of importance to the name Gate, as MMBN 2 was the game that really got me into the Battle Network series, and it was always one of my favorites. In Mega Man X6, there is a character named Gate, though this is one of the worst MMX games and I've only played through it once, so I don't really care too much for this guy.

  13. Almost one third of the way into the season, the Quebec City Meute sit in second place with 31 points, trailing the Wranglers by six. Calgary is definitely the team to beat this season, but many would have thought Davos would be the team directly behind them, but the reigning champs are currently in third with 26 points. It seems to be a foregone conclusion that one of these three teams will end up winning the Continental Cup this season, and of these teams, Quebec will likely be the one to improve the most by the playoffs. The Meute are a team built on youth. While they have some vets in players like Colton Rayne, Sergei Komarov, and Jeff Gow, their roster consists of eight players playing in their first or second season. These are players with more room for improvement. These other teams definitely have some young players on their rosters, but not the quantity or quality that Quebec has. How much these players can improve could ultimately determine whether the Meute are able to overcome the Dynamo and Wranglers in the post-season. So far on the season, Quebec is 2-3 against Davos and 1-2 against Calgary, proving that they can beat them as is, but are still a step behind. While Quebec may improve from within, it remains to be seen if they will be willing to trade more future assets for defensive help. Right now, they have three defensemen on the roster, with the third being an inexperienced Luc-Pierre Lespineau-Lebrunette. Adding another defenseman could go a long way for them, and even if they don't find the right trade, they do have the option to call of Lando Baxter to provide some support.
  14. The games have been simmed, hooray Let's see how the Rush did today Oh what a bore They failed to score This team's in complete disarray
