  1. 285 Bears @ Legion 286 Americans @ Reign 287 Bears @ HC Dynamo 288 Meute @ Wranglers
  2. (Unless you meant 1st has a 75% chance of winning 2nd...) It'd be lower than that for sure. If 5th or 6th place wins the lottery, 7th place would get 3rd overall. There's a 50% chance of that happening, so right there that's at least 50% that 7th overall is picking 3rd. Plus, if 8th place wins the lottery, there's another draw for the 2nd overall pick. My numbers may be wrong here, but I believe this is the breakdown for 7th place 1st overall - 25% 2nd overall - 8.33% 3rd overall - 66.66%
  3. My second stint as GM of New York.. I experienced some of my highest highs and lowest lows in the VHL. The incredible playoff run and four straight finals appearances losses. That period of time was my highest level of investment in the league, which made losing all those finals suck all the much more. But those were still some of my favorite seasons, with some awesome teammates.
  4. Anchorage Owls! Back in S31 when we originally expanded, that was one I was strongly considering.
  5. 4) As much as I like being successful season after season, I do think some changes could be made. I don't think it's absolutely necessary, because the formula is the same for everyone, but I do think it is a little silly seeing certain defensemen so high on the list simply because they are on bad teams. Using different scoring formulas for forwards and defensemen is one possibility. Another might be factoring in plus-minus rating in some way. 5) I don't know that I'd necessarily be a great fit on their current roster, but I'd say Davos. They are one of my favorite franchises, and playing with a superstar forward like Gabriel McAllister would be awesome. They need more forward help than defense, though, but Bassolino and The Charm are solid players moving forward. 1. I don't know exactly what you're referring to. The post I made was more so for the ease of updating, having my 2 TPE for the press conference be in the same link. It wasn't really to keep track of which answers I have or haven't used (when you say this, I assume you're referring to which answers I haven't updated). I don't answer questions in advance, I just wait until the following week to answer them, so that's how I keep track of it. 2. I was here during Maxwell's final career, which was in S57. I was still updating mist4ke a bit, but since Maxwell was really sucking, it was super discouraging and I didn't really want to be around to see the season to the end. Looking back to a PM I sent to Banackock, I told him I was pretty much done with mist4ke on October 20th last year. That was actually still pretty early into the season, just under a quarter of the way through S57. I did come back prior to actually making Gate, though. I had been waiting at least a few weeks for the S59 trade deadline before creating. It may have even been as early as the beginning of S59, can't remember for sure. 3. I don't really know, exactly. Boredom, I guess? Late into Maxwell's career, I did have the idea of making a defenseman named Samuel Gate, but I was still leaning towards not re-creating at that time. I suppose already having a player in mind makes staying away a bit more difficult. 4. Is this even a question? I do like Davos a lot, but it's definitely New York. I can't imagine that'll change. Those two are definitely far above the rest for me. That's all the time I have for this week, so I'll save your other question for the future.
  6. You're the third best left wing, which is also the third best forward. But I was just doing top for each position
  7. Hey, here's some more VHFL coverage. So I'm just gonna take a look at all the VHFL players and put together the highest fantasy scoring line so here we go! LW Gabiel McAllister With 206.6 fantasy points, McAllister is the highest scoring forward, and fourth highest player overall. He leads the league in hits at 365 (putting him on pace to break the single-season record). He is near the top in goals as well, but sits lower down the list in points with just 79. McAllister was a very high pick in every VHFL group, and he has not disappointed those teams who were lucky enough to get him. C Jack Shepard Teammate Fook Yu is technically listed as a center, but he doesn't play the position. Shepard leads the league with 46 goals, five more than the three-way tie for second. Just 16th overall among skaters with 159.6 fantasy points, Shepard's lack of a physical game really hampers his VHFL showing. Still, his offensive prowess has him as the sixth best forward, and top center. RW Aleksei Federov Keaton Louth is listed as a right wing, but plays on the left side, so Shepard's teammate Federov is actually the highest in this position. Federov has nice all-around stats, with 39 goals, 45 assists, and 285 hits. Three left wingers rank above him, but at 197.6, he is within ten fantasy points of the top forward spot. D Emil Martinov Leads the league in shots blocked by far, making him the highest fantasy scorer. D Ay Ay Ron Another league leader, Ay Ay Ron has 72 assists. No one else in the league is even on pace to reach that number by the end of the season. Ron also has over 200 hits and over 100 shots blocked, which has him at 221.6 fantasy points. He is not far behind Martinov, whose lead was much higher at the beginning of the season, so Ron could possibly end up as the highest fantasy scorer. G Norris Stopko The top four goalies are within ten fantasy points of each other, but Stopko's 177.75 have in in the lead for now thanks to his league-leading 11 shutouts. He leads the league in save percentage and goals against average, but given that he has fewer wins and saves than Arkander and King, he will need to stay sharp to hold onto his fantasy lead. Whoever has the most shutouts in the finals games will likely finish as the best fantasy goalie.
  8. https://www18.zippyshare.com/v/E5HsDjyE/file.html I talk about a player who I think should be in the Hall of Fame Music: Flashlight Brown - Whoa Man
  9. Week ending July 15 3 asked + 2 asked 3 answered
  10. 1. Yeah, I can see myself in that position. While I don't really like the idea of building a dynasty around a defenseman, throw in a couple star forwards and I can certainly support them. So don't you dare leave me. 2. I'm pleased so far. I was expecting a max of 60 points, and I'm on pace for about 55 right now, so that's good. I'm getting a good amount of hits as well. This slump we've been on hasn't been great for my numbers, but prior to it I was having a good surge. I just bumped my passing and scoring up a bit (75 and 65, respectively) so maybe that can help our offense get back on track. 3. It'd be easy to pick one of the guys who is already doing great, like Podrick Cast or Edwin Preencarnacion, so I will. By now, I'm convinced that Victor's return is real, so I have to go with Cast. Looking at the players he has made in the past, he would seem to be a pretty safe bet. There are a lot of very talented players from my class, though, so the competition will be fierce. I'll get to the other questions next week.
  11. @Velevra 1. Do you think there should be any changes to the VHFL, or are you content with the current formula which you've been highly successful at? (For the record, you're second behind me right now this season). 2. Thoughts on how your season is going thus far? 3. How do you feel about the fact that Apollo Skye has been absent from the Hall of Fame ballot the last two seasons?
  12. https://www77.zippyshare.com/v/Xi3cj71N/file.html drags on far too long and I'm tired zzz but I talk about the Jake Wylde Trophy
  13. Oh yeah I suppose i must have already because it says I did.
  14. Yeah I couldn't/can't either. Maybe I already did and just forgot.
  15. Meute Reign Americans Dynamo
  16. Meute Americans Dynamo Wranglers
  17. Well it's either welfare plus this or point task plus vhl.com article. This is less work so it's all good
  18. Quebec's rookies > Riga's rookies
  19. 1. I think it's more the Americans underperforming. They've scored fewer goals than Quebec and Riga, which should not be expected. At times, we've actually been ahead of them in the standings, but going forward I do think that they will pull ahead and put some distance between us. Their record should improve against teams like Toronto, Seattle, and Riga, all of whom they have no business losing to. I expected Quebec to drop some games to those teams, but the Americans should be better than that, and moving forward, even though we've seen them lose some of those games, I will always expect them not to drop any of them. 2. Not really, no. I am in the EFL, and one football league is certainly enough for me. There are actually issues with the sim engine that they use, potentially to the point of driving me away from the league, but I think using a simulator rather than a game meant to be played makes more sense. I don't know that a Madden league could survive with live play-by-play sims of the past. I don't know if Madden has the options of making custom leagues, but that would be necessary. It doesn't make sense to do things the way we used to when we don't have to. 3. Yeah, they are releasing a Mega Man X Legacy Collection (they've already released a collection for the classic series earlier this year), which includes X5 of course. I thought some of the names were pretty bad, and I definitely prefer the new names. Honestly though, they weren't all bad, and some of the later X series games had some pretty whack names as well. I think the most notable of the Guns 'n' Roses names was Duff McWhalen, which is goofy sure, but not the worst. Although they don't follow the X series conventional naming pattern of (Modifier) (Animal), names like Dark Dizzy, Izzy Glow, an Grizzly Slash are not all that bad. (The Skiver, on the other hand...)
  20. lol oops I already did welfare this week :L This will be a VHL radio podcast instead
