  1. what's so gay about a pack of lions??
  2. That's why I would be opposed to the move as well even though I didn't support the move to Stockholm.
  3. Yeah I know what he's referring to, but that's like saying there is already a team called the HC Davos Dynamo. (actually though the Davos comparison is worse because there is literally an "HC Davos" team so that's even closer to the real-life counterpart)
  4. There is no existing team called the Vasteras Iron Eagles. Do you just make shit up?
  5. lol that's not how it happened at all the league forced the move and I'm pretty sure Corco was still GM when that decision was made
  6. Quoting this for @Bushito Petenis should replace Donovan on his roster as Donovan is retired As for my picks, I'll take Takashi Fujimoto and the steal of the draft and the fantasy darling this season.. Bonér @jRuutu
  7. He did, yes. @bgreene21 can pick to replace him before I make my next selections
  8. I am, and by my count, I win!
  9. New Faces Joining Maxwell and Skye on Team USA Back in the Season 48 World Cup, Team USA did not win a single game. For a team with a history of success, this was a massive disappointment (as it really should be for any team). Having not won a medal in Season 46, this marked the only time in VHL history that Team USA went medal-less in back-to-back tournaments. The team at that point in time certainly did not have high aspirations; their roster was obviously outmatched going into the games. The Season 50 tournament brought some promising new names to the roster, including Diana Maxwell and Apollo Skye, the first overall picks in the Season 50 and Season 51 drafts, respectively (though Skye had not yet been drafted to the VHL). Exceeding initial expectations, Team USA ended their medal drought, finishing in third place. They followed up that bronze with consecutive silver medals in the next two tournaments. While Maxwell and Skye were not the only mainstays on Team USA during this current run, they are the only players from the Season 50 team who will be returning for the upcoming tournament. Gone are William Covington, Titan Kronos, and Travis Gowecny. Along with Maxwell and Skye, others returning to the team (each making their second appearance) are Daryl Dortch, Pablo, John Locke, and Gabriel McAllister. This leaves the roster with six new faces. Despite this inexperience, Team USA looks like a solid contender for the gold medal. Bo Boeser and Peter Quill are taking over for Covington and Gowecny as the team's two centers. Neither of these players are yet a quality first line center, which could be problematic for the team. Boeser was the top rookie in Season 55 and has had two 40+ goal seasons to start his career. Quill just capped off a relatively tame rookie season with a team-leading 21 post-season points for the runner-up Davos Dynamo. However, neither of these two are great a face-offs, and they don't bring much other than a scoring touch to a team that already has plenty of players who can score. Bo Boeser has given Toronto fans hope during their rebuild. The inexperience of the roster really shows in the defense. Pablo, a Season 54 player, is the most veteran of the crew. Dexter Lane, Casey Jones, and Michael Kinkaid all look to make good first impressions as new members of the Team USA defense. There will undoubtedly be some struggles, with neither Jones nor Kinkaid having yet played a VHL game. This would be a much bigger liability for the team if not for the phenomenal goaltender they have behind them. Thanks to Skye, these defenders do not have to be incredible for Team USA to be a good defensive team. The last new player to the team is Vernon von Axelberry, who be be backing up Skye in this tournament. V2A should get a few starts in the tournament, but with the team looking to compete, Skye will be in net for most games. If this young group of players is going to be successful in a post-Skye era, Axelberry may get his chance to shine in the future. Team USA looks to continue their upward trend, seeking a gold medal in the Season 56 World Cup. With Maxwell and Skye leading the way, they certainly have the potential to win it all. While they don't have any other elite players on the squad, Gabriel McAllister is someone who could potentially do a lot of damage. With several good offensive players and a top tier goalie, they will be a team to watch. for Maxwell

  11. Player who retired during last season shouldn't be on the list. So Maximoff, Abbott, Klingberg, Donovan, Power, Threencarnacion, maybe others are ineligible. (Unless something changed) To clarify, it's only the retiring players who played out until their forced retirement during the off-season that are eligible. Players like Digital, Doughty, Kronos, Kopralkov..

He was a center, so he has that going for him. Also had fewer PIM and a higher shooting percentage.
  15. Don't understand why someone would post/reply/comment in this thread and not apply to be a GM tbh it's SILLY
  16. (I know I'm not the WC commish or anything but from what I can tell, this hasn't gotten underway yet so I'm gonna get this out there so people can apply; if someone already has this under control go ahead and stop me.) With the World Cup supposed to start today, I'm looking for people ASAP. Someone has apparently been offered the WC commish position so I won't be making any decisions but this thread can still be used to apply. As a GM, you'll be tasked with: - Selecting a roster of players to represent your country ASAP - Helping to generate discussion with your selected team-mates in both your respective team forum and in game threads. - Submitting lines for each game (If you have no prior experience of this, then a teammate or the World Cup Commissioners will be more than happy to assist). Team List: Team Canada Team USA Team Scandinavia (Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Iceland) Team Western Europe (England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Germany) Team World (All other countries) Team Mercenaries (Any players not selected for the above five teams) Things To Consider: - A small TPE payment will be awarded to General Managers, providing an extra incentive for those thinking about applying for the role. - Primarily, we will be looking to have teams represented by General Managers that own players of the same nationality. - If you're someone with no previous management experience in the VHL, then a role as World Cup General Manager is a great way to introduce you to the basic concepts of managing a team. - The World Cup does not have a fixed start date as of yet but I am working on the spreadsheet right now and should have it up this weekend.
  17. Drafted first overall in S50, Diana Maxwell is entering her eighth and final season. Looking to close out her career with one more Cup, Maxwell has a legitimate chance at being an eventual Hall of Fame inductee. After losing Game 7 in the finals this past season, she was traded to the victorious Quebec City Meute. She'll be playing alongside some of the best players in the VHL, with a forward line of Lukas Muller, Pierre Gaudette, and herself being one to fear. Beyond that, the forwards are very suspect; will these three be able to score enough to make up for a lack of depth? And where am I going next? Maxwell I had been intending for Maxwell to be my final player, but the implementation of Project Player 2 saw me create a goaltender, mist4ke, whose career could potentially extend to Season 60. mist4ke has always been a side project for me, and I'll probably not be doing point tasks for him after Maxwell's retirement. I'll keep updating him probably through to the end of an eight-season career. Any questions about my future in the VHL revolve around whether or not I'll be making another player to replace Maxwell. As of right now, the plan is no. Maxwell will likely be my last serious player, with mist4ke being my last player altogether. At least for now. Since I'll be sticking around a bit with mist4ke anyway, the urge to make another player could very possibly take over. Perhaps a defenseman named Samuel Gate. for Maxwell
