  1. The first round of the playoffs are over, and as we move to the Conference Finals, we are looking at two series that may have wildly different outcomes. In North America, Quebec are heavy favorites over Calgary, who came into the playoffs as the worst team, statistically. The Meute were easily able to handle the Wranglers during the regular season, posting a 7-1 record against them. The Wranglers were also considered underdogs against the Legion, but the Meute are a much better team. I suspect this series won't last longer than five games, with Calgary best chance at even a single win being a stellar performance from Jacob, with Quebec dominating otherwise. The series in Europe looks to be much closer. While the Dynamo did just barely edge out the Titans to advance, the Reign will have their work cut out for them if they want to make the finals. Davos easily took the regular season series against Riga with a 6-2 record, but that is absolutely no reason to write off the Victory Cup-winning Reign. The Dynamo will need Diana Maxwell to step up from a lackluster performance in the first round. This game, of course, will put the former New York teammates against each other: Maxwell and Motherfucker Sharpe on Davos; Bobby Digital, Essian Ravenwing, Phil Shankly, and M.T. Power on Riga. for mist4ke
  2. Helsinki and Toronto were our toughest opponents this season so the rest of the playoffs should be a breeze, right?
  3. A back-and-forth series has lead to a Game 7 over in Europe, and with the action returning to Davos, the Dynamo are confident in their chances to advance to face the Reign. During the regular season, no team had a better home record than the Dynamo. However, the Titans, hungry for a third straight championship, are still a very good team, so nothing can be taken for granted in this series. (Damn that sentence was littered with commas.) Thus far, we have seen a very low-scoring series dominated by the goalies. Both Rhett DeGrath and Astrid Moon have a 0.940+ save percentage and a 1.52 goals against average. The Dynamo have been particular ineffective when it comes to scoring on the power play. They were the second-best in that regard during the regular season, and they were particularly effective against Helsinki (nine goals in 34 attempts). This has not carried over to the post-season, as they have just two power play goals in 27 attempts in the series against Helsinki. If they are going to win Game 7, they are going to have to take advantage of these opportunities. go davos go for Maxwell

  11. I'm fairly certain that is wrong
  12. I'm pretty sure that statistic you were looking at is goals by period, not by line.
  13. Regular Season Head-to-head The Toronto Legion and Calgary Wranglers will be playing for the right to lose to Quebec in the Conference Finals. The gap in their records and goals scored for the season suggest that Toronto is heavily favored to win, but their head-to-head matchup indicates otherwise. These two teams have played each other close, both with four wins and just one goal being the difference between them. For the most part, the games have been relatively low scoring, with their being a couple standouts (a 5-2 win for Toronto and a 4-2 win for Calgary). Calgary won the most recent contest between these two, that being the final game they each played in the regular season. In that game, CGY G1 was starting as opposed to Jacob, which is a bad sign for Toronto. I don't believe either of these teams will have a chance against Quebec. Although Toronto is actually closer to Quebec in terms of points than Calgary is to Toronto, I think this will be a closer matchup than a Quebec vs Toronto series would be. I do expect Toronto to win, but if Jacob and Marc-Alexander LeBlanc can get hot, Calgary does stand a chance. for mist4ke
  14. Regular Season Head-to-head The first round of the playoffs in Europe pits the HC Davos Dynamo, seeking their first cup in nearly 20 seasons, against the Helsinki Titans, seeking their third cup in as many seasons. If the regular season is any indication, the Titans will be coming in as the underdogs, as they finished well out of the race for the top spot in the Conference, while Davos lost out on the first seed by just three points. A lack of contributors on offense outside of Franchise Cornerstone and Theo Axelsson has been the story of the Titans season, with those two accounting for over half of the teams goals. Davos holds the edge in the head-to-head this season, with the margin being even better (3-1) since acquiring defenseman Guntis Petenis. Those three wins include two shutouts and a one-goal game. While Diana Maxwell is Davos' leading scorer during the season series, she has not tallied a goal against the Titans since the acquisition of Petenis. Franchise Cornerstone meanwhile has been consistent against the Dynamo, with at least one goal in five of the games in this matchup. for Maxwell
  15. I mean, I think we should contract even if we keep two players
