After trading away Mark Calaway and Reese McFleury, the Istanbul Redwolves must look to the future. That future is bright and I believe this team will be able to make an impact for seasons to come. Our future will be built with the help of these three players, they will leave behind a Legacy that will inspire Redwolves to come!

I have decided to take a swing at a new segment where I’ll be asking VHL GMs to pick a trade that they have made that they believe led to their current success, to start things off with last season’s champion the Calgary Wranglers. GM @Ricer13 selected this trade:

Which to date, has developed into this:

Just to provide some context on the above trade tree, here is what each colour means; Green = Still on team and playing; Light Blue = Prospect for team; Orange = Played and retired with team; Yellow = Played and was traded; Blue = Team has pick and not used yet; Red = Never played for team and is current FA. Also in this case to keep things a bit more organized, boxes are around Helsinki’s return for several of the trades.

Will start things off with Calgary, and the S84 HSK 3rd and Lenny Sanderson @Gally. Calgary used the 3rd to draft Lorenzo Cobberson @Hendrix Cobberson, who never played for Calgary and is currently playing for Cologne in the VHLE. Lenny Sanderson never played for Calgary and is currently a IA free agent. Neither player was traded.

The only other piece Calgary acquired and did not trade was the S83 SEA 1st. With that pick Calgary selected Leandro Goncalves @leandrofg. To date Goncalves has played in 308 games with Calgary and has 145 goals and 156 assists for a total of 301 points, Goncalves is still on Calgary.

Bob Chicoine @PoignardLeclerc11 would go onto play in 28 games with Calgary before being traded, in those 28 games Chicoine would produce only 6 points. In exchange for Chicoine Calgary would receive Brendan Telker @Telkster who would record 29 points in the final 44 games of his career, he would also produce 8 points in 7 playoff games with Calgary. Telker was not traded prior to his retirement.

The final piece Calgary received in the initial trade would be moved only a few days later to New York as they would trade the S84 HSK 2nd with their own S83 1st to move up to the 5th overall pick, where they would select AirRig GoodBrandSun @Rhynex Entertainment. To date GoodBrandSun has been a staple on Calgary’s blueline, with 361 points in 380 career games. GoodBrandSun would also win the S83 Jake Wylde Trophy as the league’s top defensive defensemen.

Now moving onto the Helsinki side of things where GM @Rayzor_7 went to work, we’ll get Nasherov @Vat out of the way quickly as he would play in 144 games with Helsinki prior to retiring. In those games Nasherov produced 152 points, 67 of which were goals.

Now onto the big part, as Erlantz Jokinen @jRuutu would be traded back to Calgary after 1 season in Helsinki where he produced 58 points. In exchange for Jokinen, a S84 1st (RIG), and S84 4th (HSK)  the Titans received two S85 2nds (LDN, and CGY), and Calgary’s S86 1st. Of those picks the only one that Helisinki used was the S85 CGY 2nd, where they selected Vinny Lecavlier @Spartakiller2, who is still a prospect in the Helsinki system.

The S85 LDN 2nd would be traded with a S84 3rd (RIG) in exchange for Reylynn Reinhart @Ricer13 who would play the final season of their career with Helsinki and would produce 46 goals and 41 assists for 87 points in 72 games. They would also have 10 points in 7 playoff games prior to retirement.

This is where things get interesting and complicated as Helsinki would trade the S86 CGY 1st, Deron Nesbitt @AW13, and their own S86 2nd to Davos in a massive 3-way trade where the Titans received 6 pieces; the S86 DAV 1st, S86 LDN 3rd, S86 NYA 4th, S87 CGY 3rd, S88 DAV 3rd, and S88 CGY 3rd. The S86 LDN 3rd, S86 NYA 4th, and S87 CGY 3rd were used to select Antonio Marchand @Tapirman, Suhayb Hussein @chief, and Niall Mahoney @LiamFlannigan respectively, all of which are still prospects in the Helsinki system.

The S88 CGY 3rd would be traded back to Calgary in exchange for Marcel Janser @Morcar80, who would appear in 22 games for Helsinki, producing 10 points. Janser would then be traded along with the S89 RIG 2nd to Vancouver for Ryuji Sakamoto @der meister who will make his Helsinki debut later today.

I’m going to put a bit of an asterisk next to this trade as the S88 DAV 3rd was not the main piece in it, as Helsinki would trade the 3rd, Tim Stuzle @NineIQ v2, S89 VAN 2nd, and S89 SEA 3rd to Malmo for Bob Vladivechsenkchushkin @Grape, Mo Probert @Yahtzee, and Matty Fire @MattyFired. Before playing in a single game for Helsinki Bob would be traded to Vancouver for a S90 VAN 2nd. Both Fire and Probert would play for Helsinki and record a combined 51 points in 44 games played so far this season.

Helsinki would also go onto trade the S86 DAV 1st they acquired in the Deron Nesbitt trade as it would be moved to Vancouver for Vancouver’s S86 1st and Toronto’s S86 2nd, both of which would be traded; The S86 VAN 1st would be traded to London along with 2 other draft picks for Rick Grimes @tinafrombobsburgers who has 49 points in 94 career games with Helsinki to date.

The S86 TOR 2nd would be bundled with another 2nd to move up in the S86 draft in a trade with Calgary as they would acquire the S86 WAR 1st, with this pick Helsinki would select Fuukka Rask @Jubis who has a 21-39-7 record and 0.912 SV% in 72 career games.

With most trades it’s very hard to declare a winner, but at the end of the day, Calgary acquired pieces that were integral to their S87 Continental Cup victory and has gotten a lot of games and production out of both Leandro Goncalves and AirRig GoodBrandSun. While this trade doesn’t initially show much of a return for Helsinki, eventually they did receive 5 players who are currently on their roster all of which have a very bright future.

Players who were later drafted with traded picks and other GMs involved in the trades:

It's that time again, the start of a new season! This time around we will be retiring two more jerseys from the past few seasons. We will also be announcing our captains who will lead us for S88 as we try to bring the cup back to Oslo!

First up is defender Quinn Clark (@axtron), an invaluable asset on our blueline and in the locker room during both cup seasons. Though he was only here for just over one full season, Clark played a pivotal role during the S85 and S86 playoffs, notching 4 goals and nineteen assists for 23 points in 27 games. In addition, over the 100 regular season games he played, Clark scored 88 points (27 goals, 61 assists). He logged the most minutes on the team in S86, and could play in all situations. All this being said, he was also a terrific locker room presence, always cheering the team on before and after key matchups. There is no doubt that without him, we could not have accomplished what we did. He served as an alternate in S86.

Fittingly, another core defender of this era will have his number retired with Clark, that being Brodie Landry III (@Brodie_Landry). Landry spent a grand total of 216 games here, tied for the all-time Oslo lead. He is first in Oslo history in assists (138), second in points (170), and second in plus/minus (+49). Not only has Landry played the most postseason contests among Storm players (40), but he also has the most assists (22), points (29), and blocked shots (73). Like Clark, Landry was a great locker room leader, always positive and determined to win. He served as an alternate in S86 and as our captain in S87.

Congrats to both Axtron and Brodie, we wish you the best in your careers with Toronto and Malmo, respectively. Thank you both for all your contributions to the Storm organization!

    Now, time for S88 Captains!

We're very excited to get started, and have full confidence in our leadership group to help guide us along the way. Congrats to all three of you.

    Rookie Experience

    Position: Goaltender
    Nationality: Canada 🇨🇦
    Drafted: 1st Round / 13th Overall / S86
    Rookie Year: S87
    Team: Toronto Legion

I had a lot of different thoughts when I first landed in Toronto to join the Legion for the S87 season. I was excited to play in my home country again after two seasons away, even if I was going to be playing in the Eastern Time zone.  I knew coming into Toronto that the team was under new management and most likely rebuilding. I (thought I) knew that I would be the backup to the underrated Oskar Lindbergh, but that assumption dissolved when Lindbergh was traded to the Calgary Wranglers shortly after I arrived. That was a bit of a shock – now I was going to be the defacto starter! I was nervous but also thrilled as this was the opportunity that I had been working for my whole career.

My first game was against the Los Angeles Stars. I was super nervous and although I stopped four LA shots before allowing my first VHL goal at 4:07 of the first period on a power play. I was determined to shake it off and refocus and I did for the most part stopping 28 of 32 shots in a 4-2 loss.

My (and the team’s) first win didn’t come until the eighth game. We were playing the 5-2 Moscow Menace and I was feeling it that night. We were up 1-0 and I had stopped all 30 shots over two periods. We were pushing in the third but Nico Pearce was buzzing, had a few chances that missed and then snuck one by me. Tie game. Overtime solved nothing so we went to the shootout. Moscow’s first shooter was Nico Pearce. This time I stopped him. Then came Tomas Sogaard. I stopped him too. Then we scored. And the legendary Ronan Lavelle skated to center. He came at me with speed, did a head fake and snapped a shot – right into my glove. We had won! I had stopped three of the most dangerous goal-scorers in the shootout for my first career win and it felt awesome. I would get my second win two games later against Malmo where I saved 51 of 52 shots in a 3-1 victory. It was then that I knew I could play in this league.

Castle celebrates his first VHL win against Moscow.

I played 60 games during the season and won 19 games – 7 in either overtime or a shootout. I only got pulled three times although I did have some bad games. I cemented myself as one of the better 1-on-1 goalies in the league winning my last four shootouts (although I had lost the four before – three of those to Seattle). We also finished the season on a high note going 5-3 in the final eight games.

One thing that I appreciate the most about my rookie season with Toronto was the comradery in the locker room and the transparency management had with the team. Everyone on the team seemed to understand that it would be a rough season in the standings but we all just had fun with it and tried to instill a hard-working yet laid back culture where we could make mistakes and be helped up not beat up. I also am indebted to GM Nils Godlander @Moon for first of all drafting me, but then also including me in the leadership group even though I wasn’t a captain. And I am thankful to the captains (Kyle Peace @Peace, Mac Altas @v.2 , and CDS Leb @CDS_Leb) for letting me tag along and find my voice.

I’m looking forward to the next few seasons. I know there will be some challenges but I expect that the young core will grow together and build a long-term contender that will eventually bring a Cup back to Toronto.

His return to the general management game couldn't start better with the first overall pick to build around, and we believe that Ottawa Lynx forward FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist is that player. In a draft class heavy with defensemen, Frostbeard decides to go with the consensus top forward available. Analfist scored 100 points, with 50 goals and 50 assists complimenting his well-rounded game. The S87 first overall pick in the VHLM also scored 16 points in 17 playoff games to help Ottawa win the Founder's Cup. On top of his success on the ice, Analfist is the latest player from STZ, a dedicated and loyal member who is absolutely ideal to build around. Frostbeard's return to the VHL couldn't be off to a better start.                                             2 Vancouver Wolves     Jacob Stone @scoop                           D TPE: 417                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 28 55 83 31 254 79 137 168                             S87 Playoffs 7 2 1 3 -1 24 6 14 25                             Frank Funk has been facing a lot of scrutiny lately, so the pressure is on to hit with the second overall pick, so what does he do? Trade it to Frank Chadwick and the Vancouver Wolves on the eve of the draft, of course! There is no pipeline whatsoever for Vancouver, but selecting Jacob Stone immediately changes that. The top-earner in the draft class had a successful season in the VHLE with the Vasteras Iron Eagles, showing his two-way skills racking up 83 points and blocking 168 shots, and the Wolves' cap space suggests he will be playing another season there. Stone is the type of player that can immediately give Vancouver a jump-start on revamping their blue line, and is a no-brainer pick for the Wolves at #2.                                             3 Toronto Legion     Mark Calaway @Beketov                           D TPE: 353                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 27 48 75 -1 220 52 126 94                             S87 Playoffs 5 3 2 5 -2 21 2 10 8                             Year Two of Mooner's rebuild begins, and even with the misfortune of dropping to the third overall pick in the Draft Lottery, he's still primed to get exactly what he wants: a blue liner capable of protecting franchise goaltender Joel Castle for years to come. Mark Calaway is the perfect addition for the Legion here, and although Toronto will need more defensemen, the massive American defender is as good a start as you can get. He scored 75 points with the Halifax 21st in the VHLM, showing off his well-rounded playing style. Additionally, as the latest player from Beketov, Calaway is as much of a sure thing in the VHL as there is. The only real question mark for Calaway is whether he'll go to Toronto right away or spend a season in the VHLE first.                                             4 New York Americans                             Jesper Davis @Josh     C TPE: 340                                     Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 35 43 78 7 316 58 118 31                             S87 Playoffs 14 6 8 14 -5 80 6 26 14                             Thadius Sales and the New York Americans have an aging core, and nothing really to get excited for in their prospect pool. He'll fix that by adding the top center in the draft in Jasper Davis, the first piece of the next generation in New York. The Americans have the cap space to play him immediately, but I imagine he'll have a season in the VHLE first to develop further. His build so far is very balanced, and he has developed at a very consistently high pace, but I believe Davis isn't quite where he needs to be to make an immediate impact in New York, at least not right away. Regardless, Jasper Davis will soon be the face of this franchise.                                             5 Prague Phantoms     Bobby Bob @Baby Boomer                           D TPE: 366                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 30 82 112 12 253 54 119 124                             S87 Playoffs 12 2 14 16 2 44 8 17 21                             After a dramatic retool this offseason, Prague enters the draft in prime position to begin their new era of prospects by adding the best one available to them. After a long and successful previous career, culminating in an incredible final season, Baby Boomer returns with Bobby Bob, and has needed no time to adjust. Bobby Bob could potentially join Prague's roster this season and will surely be a part of Prague's ever-impressive defensive core for a long time. Prague will need cheaper depth as they hope to overcome a competitive EU conference and give themselves the extra edge to establish themselves as a perennial contender.                                             6 Malmo Nighthawks     Moritz Stauffer @GoodLeftUndone                           D TPE: 330                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 17 52 69 -2 183 82 154 104                             S87 Playoffs 5 0 4 4 -2 18 0 8 8                             Malmo made what looks to be a wise decision to tear down and begin the rebuild in Malmo. Picking up a ton of picks and prospects for their core players has accelerated the process immensely. Building from the bottom up, Malmo elects to select Stauffer, an established affiliate member, with Auto-12, making them an incredibly reliable and safe option to lead them for seasons to come. GLU is a great presence in the locker room, and with connections to affiliate members, he has a lot of positive influence. An excellent pick for both vibes and talent. Also of note, our first first-gen off the board!                                             7 Chicago Phoenix     Merome Dilson @MexicanCow123                           G TPE: 354                                   Season GP W L OTL SV% GAA SO GA SA     S87 Regular Season 67 45 16 6 0.91 2.58 3 173 1926                             S87 Playoffs 12 6 5 0 0.881 3.41 0 36 302                             One of the few picks we all agreed upon. With rumours of Cole Pearce leaving Chicago, and Shindigs having sadly disappeared, Chicago will be looking to rebuild their back end from scratch. Merome Dilson is by far the best goalie available in the draft, and with most teams struggling with an overabundance of goaltending, Dilson and Chicago seem like a perfect fit. We will see whether Dilson elects to play in the VHL or VHLE this season, as I can not imagine being an underdeveloped rookie starting goaltender in the league will provide a huge amount of personal success for Dilson, but getting established in the VHL and helping build the culture in Chicago could be an intriguing prospect.                                             8 New York Americans     Francesco Mancini @GioSivo                           LW TPE: 278                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 30 38 68 17 311 32 116 12                             S87 Playoffs 4 5 4 9 -4 73 10 26 3                             Our first player that should be pretty well guaranteed to be playing in the VHLE this season, in Mancini. New York is another team that simply needs to add as much value as they can with each pick, regardless of position. With an aging group of forwards and defenders, new blood will be key to turning the ship around. Mancini has the potential to be a cornerstone piece for a franchise, and with careful cultivation, and a bit of good old fashioned organized crime, the Italian should have no problem finding a good home in New York.                                             9 Helsinki Titans     Gregger McKeggegger @TheNeonShaman                           LW TPE: 267                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 62 62 124 52 481 32 145 48                             S87 Playoffs 17 10 14 24 14 122 16 32 8                             Coming in at ninth on the list is Gregger McKeggegger (trying saying that name three times fast). McKeggegger spent his season in the M where he was apart of the cup winning squad, the Ottawa Lynx. McKeggegger ended up putting up 62 goals and 62 assists, good for 124 points and also a +52 on the season, absolute insanity for offensive production. Another forward to add to the prospect pool and at perfect time, as Helsinki will need to replace two forwards in a couple of seasons.                                             10 Moscow Menace     Owen Lazaro @traphag                           LW TPE: 239                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 37 54 91 15 357 70 173 62                             S87 Playoffs 7 2 1 3 -3 21 2 17 6                             The first of the double digits as Owen Lazaro we have going to the Msocow Menace. Owen Lazaro had a great season in the M with the Marauders, where he put up 37 goals and 54 assists, which notched him 91 points on the season. He did struggle a bit in the playoffs, but still a very solid regular season will have him drafted in the first round. He'll be joining the squad in a couple of seasons where a forward spot will open up for Moscow, and that's where Owen Lazaro will slide into the lineup!                                             11 Los Angeles Stars     Liv Slater @Subject056                           D TPE: 220                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 5 35 40 8 95 56 152 99                             S87 Playoffs 12 4 6 10 2 32 2 23 19                             Liv Slater has really come into their own recently, following a average season with Houston, where they posted 5 goals and 35 assists for 40 points in 72 games, Slater's play went to a different level in the playoffs where they had 10 points in 12 games before being eliminated in the 2nd round. Los Angeles is looking to improve thir defensive core for the foreseeable future and Slater would be a great first piece to bring in, as they will be VHL ready as early as S89.                                             12 Helsinki Titans     Legacy Gaming @Gaming Ringleader                           RW TPE: 232                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 28 47 75 0 350 39 92 13                             S87 Playoffs 12 9 10 19 -2 58 4 22 2                             Legacy Gaming is back with a new player, this time bringing in a forward to the VHL. Legacy Gaming played with Houston in the M this season, where he put up 28 goals and 47 assists, good for 75 points on the season. Legacy will be a great addition to Helsinki, as they're going to be losing two forwards due to retirement soon. By the time that they retire, Legacy Gaming should be able to make that step to the VHL and slot right in for Helsinki!                                             13 Calgary Wranglers     Rip Wheeler @ScottyP                           LW TPE: 204                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 30 47 77 4 313 97 194 24                             S87 Playoffs 5 1 3 4 -5 18 12 22 3                             Rip Wheeler has the potential to be one of if not the biggest steal in this draft, they have been improving at a fast pace since joining the VHLM's Las Vegas Aces as a waiver signing and impressively posted 30 goals and 47 assists this season to finish 5 points above a point per game. Wheeler is a can't miss prospect and any team that takes him will likely strike gold.                                             14 Riga Reign     Mason Rice @Sawyer13                           LW TPE: 210                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 11 21 32 15 137 50 140 22                             S87 Playoffs 14 1 5 6 0 30 10 23 6                             One of the more intriging prospects in this draft, Mason Rice shows real potential as a two-way forward of the future. This past season with San Diego in the VHLM, Rice posted a very solid 11 goals and 21 assists for 32 points in 72 games. Rice also plays a very complete game and isn't afraid to play the body as they recorded 140 hits and 22 blocks this season. With Riga already having a very solid defensive core, Rice would be the perfect pick for them if he is available at 14.                                             15 Riga Reign     McDonalds BigMac @ryf87                           RW TPE: 200                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 52 12 27 39 14 144 22 71 8                             S87 Playoffs 7 1 4 5 -1 22 4 11 4                             Coming in part way through the season, BigMac only appeared in 52 regular season games for Miami. In those games they produced well, posting 12 goals and 27 assists for 39 points, a very solid first season. BigMac will likely need to develope for 2 more seasons before making the jump to the VHL, but they show real promise and the sky is the limit for this young prospect.                                             16 Calgary Wranglers     Nils Andersson @Viper                           RW TPE: 204                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 49 23 26 49 9 191 24 82 15                             S87 Playoffs 17 8 6 14 9 67 6 18 7                             Coming off of playing an integral role in Ottawa's Founder's Cup victory, Andersson posted 14 points in 17 games in the playoffs, 8 of which were goals. Andersson looks to be a solid offensive option for just about any team, producing at a rate just below 1 goal every 2 games. Calgary is nearing the end of their big 3 offensive options, and brining in Andersson would give them a solid replacement for when the sun sets on their current roster.                                             2ND ROUND                                     17 Toronto Legion     Alex DeLuca @Deluca                           D TPE: 162                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 38 3 13 16 31 36 58 80 60                             S87 Playoffs 17 2 8 10 -2 20 14 49 29                                                     18 London United                                     Alex Carlson @Dack     C TPE: 190                                     Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 34 5 9 14 -2 55 18 52 8                             S87 Playoffs 12 2 5 7 0 20 4 20 1                                                     19 Los Angeles Stars     Tarro Tsujimoto @Taro Tsujimoto                           C TPE: 164                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 25 31 56 -1 203 42 93 24                             S87 Playoffs 5 3 3 6 -1 28 0 14 6                                                     20 New York Americans     Dank Turtle @DankTurtle                           C TPE: 181                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 58 10 28 38 6 107 18 74 3                             S87 Playoffs 17 2 7 9 -7 42 10 35 3                                                     21 HC Davos Dynamo     Tord Yvel @Trazan                           D TPE: 161                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 22 1 12 13 5 16 28 42 35                             S87 Playoffs 5 1 0 1 -1 3 8 16 8                                                     22 London United             Eurydyka Sklodowska Dudzinska @diamond_ace                           D TPE: 153                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 14 50 64 -6 158 118 230 169                             S87 Playoffs 5 2 2 4 -5 10 6 10 8                                                     23 Chicago Phoenix                             BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10     RW TPE: 339                                     Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 13 13 26 20 235 59 146 7                             S87 Playoffs 11 3 5 8 5 43 12 32 3                                                     24 Warsaw Predators     Olivier Gauthier @fonziGG                           G TPE: 155                                   Season GP W L OTL SV% GAA SO GA SA     S87 Regular Season 72 39 25 7 0.89 2.71 3 194 1757                             S87 Playoffs 14 7 6 1 0.897 2.66 1 42 406                                                     25 Malmo Nighthawks     Justin Williams @JCV                           LW TPE: 150                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 31 63 94 24 285 24 121 59                             S87 Playoffs 17 9 16 25 8 69 16 27 5                                                     26 Moscow Menace     Tullemore Dew @Spade18                           C TPE: 149                                   Season GP G A P (+/-) SHT PIM HITS SB     S87 Regular Season 72 35 43 78 -17 351 48 125 60                             S87 Playoffs 5 1 2 3 -7 18 0 5 5                                                     27 D.C. Graphic Review:
Usually you don't get too many large graphics, but this one is Hugeeee!! Which is not a bad thing.
I like the positioning of the render/player a side profile is pretty cool, and I see that you removed the NHL logo on collar.
I would have maybe tried to blend the player into the background more, maybe even use a stroke or something so it is blended and doesn't look so flat.
Also the helmet you could remove the Prudential and added the team logo, just to add a little more of the VHL in there.
Not sure if you used a filter, but the grainy look is nice and the logo to the right maybe sublimate or add the name text on top of that.
Overall really cool & I like it.
    Grade:
    8.5/10

Lucky you. I got a trivia question wrong(I blame the dumb spreadsheet title) so I need to do a review.
I like the entire Marauders theme, with the coloring, logo in the BG etc. The render placement is good for the larger size of the image although I prefer to place the top of the render either closer or touching the top of the canvas, but that's just a personal thing. I like the font choice, and maybe increasing the size and moving it over to the left to slightly overlap the render would work as well. It's a simple but well executed graphic that gives off good Marauder vibes. Good one, 8/10.

Starting off my review I just want to say this graphic is great. I like the colors, they really tie the graphic together. Also the overall retro theme of the graphic is great. The font for the text looks nice and I love the look of the glowing text. The use of the skyline in the back looks good and it. The player looks good too and I like how there are multiple fading into each other smoothly.

1.Being my first season i’m still pretty new to everything but from what I've experienced the league is really fun. I like talking to friends about our players performances and making graphics.
    2. During the season I played for Miami but going into the draft my contract will expire. My favorite thing about my team so far was playing with my friends.
    3. Probably Quebec City or Pittsburgh and the mascot would be Ronald McDondald.
    4. BigMacs performance was pretty good. I would have liked it to be better but for my first season I’m pretty satisfied.
    5. I don’t really have a preference but I would like to be drafted at a high overall to a team that has great potential.
    6. My dream vacation would be the mountains in Colorado.

    VHLM! It's lit!

You've seen that, you've heard that, but do you believe it? Could you tell me without looking that both teams competing for the Founder's Cup were decided today in a Game 7? Could you tell me that the finals will be between the VHLM's top 2 regular-season teams? If you don't play in the VHLM, could you name me a player on either team? And would you have guessed that both GMs will be going for their first-ever championships as GM? Heck, I haven't even gotten to that last part myself, so you should know that's an achievement.

I truly have no bias for one team or another here, and I think all of those things make the finals an appealing matchup for anyone who wants to tune into our community for some good, old-fashioned simulation hockey. Who's ready for a breakdown?

     Mexico City Kings
    7 forwards | Avg. TPA: 159
    4 defense | Avg. TPA: 110
    2 goalers | Avg. TPA: 93; Starter TPA: 150
    Capped Players: 3F

The Kings head into the finals after finishing on top of the regular-season standings with 105 points and presenting remarkable dominance over the stat sheet. With a league redesigned to be more competitive, both of these things are impressive in their own right and would have been less obvious predictions at the start of the season than in many others. And with GM @badcolethetitan being notoriously blamed for sim luck, stock prices, and Team USA getting absolutely whipped by Team Mexico in the World Baseball Classic as I write this, I like to think that he's got a bit of a chip on his shoulder as he aims to take home (I think) Mexico's first-ever Cup. Let's take a look at the roster!

Forwards: Ranked #2 and #3 in points in the VHLM this season are none other than Mexico's captain nugget (131) and Tim Riggins (127, including a league-leading 65 goals), while one needs not look much farther down the list to find Grizz Tazzo (in 6th with 116) to find that the Kings can make a full line of forwards out of the league's top 6 scorers. That's super impressive, and shows that TPE works--these are Mexico's three capped players, and the main thing that Ottawa will have to look out for.

Defense: Not all that far down the points list in the M is Colton Heffelfinger at #13, who's also second in points among defensemen and comes into this game with over 200 hits and 150 blocked shots. Arguably, the reason why this team is so hard to defend is that shutting down one part of the game will leave another more open to chances--and that could end up being the secret to success.

Goalers: Coming into his third season in the VHLM is Ross Glagau, a familiar name in some VHLM circles. While not capped, he's tied for first in wins and, as a recreate of a once-max-earning member, can open up some possibilities for the team in terms of locker room presence and experience. It will be interesting to see whether that extra 50 TPE might make a difference, but if regular-season performance is an indicator of success, the Kings should be fully confident in their starter.

     Ottawa Lynx
    7 forwards | Avg. TPA: 160
    3 defense | Avg. TPA: 138
    1 goaler | TPA: 200
    Capped Players: 3F/1D/1G

Based on regular-season standings and presence of players among the statistical leaders of the league this season, it might seem fair to suggest that the Kings are more likely to take home a championship. That said, though, we shouldn't forget something else--Ottawa has just as much of a chance to succeed if we're just comparing rosters, and even has advantages in some spots. GM @Grape is a relatively experienced member (having joined the VHL the same season I did), but is mostly just starting off as a GM and so far has done a great job getting his team up to speed. The Lynx finished on top of the Eastern Conference with 101 points and should present a formidable opponent for the Kings, with a victory potentially signaling a turnaround from a recent GM firing and team restructuring.

Forwards: Just like the Kings, Ottawa has three capped forwards. And while this isn't the three-in-the-top-six that we just saw, a look at the points leaderboard shows us that we've got Gregger McKegger (5th; 124), Jagger Bomb (9th, 106), and recreate FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analyst (14th; 100). So, even though the Kings might end up stealing the show, there's still quite a bit to deal with on the other end and a good amount of players that could end up hanging with the headliners.

Defense: Here's the main disadvantage Ottawa has: they've got three players on defense, as compared to a full lineup for Mexico. That said, though, the players they do have are often enough. We've got to go down to #43 on the points list (Winston Dixon jr with 64) to find someone in this category, but TPE-wise, both almost-capped Dixon and capped Greg Hickman will end up making a difference. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with this team, and whether this is a hole that the Kings could exploit, but the surprising lack of regular-season production in this group is also a place where they could explode in the final series.

Goalers: If there's one thing that could make up the lack of a fourth player on defense, it's capped Matthew McCagg in net. Finishing the regular season second in SV% and first in GAA, with 7 shutouts, McCagg has done his share of stealing games for the team and could end up making that happen in this final series. We'll have to find out whether 50 extra TPE in net will make up for the difference in regular-season stats--especially when it comes down to a situation where the teams are arguably pretty well-matched on paper otherwise--and McCagg could very well end up being the key to winning it all.

So yes--follow the VHLM! Track our championship! You'll get to see the best of the league's next generation going up against each other, and you'll have fun with what's going to be an entertaining series. Here's to a lot of awesome moments over the next handful of days!
