Jared Spaz was a mid-season free agent signing by @Josh and the Yukon Rush. He joined the team about a third into the season as an underdeveloped player, but earned his way onto the top line. The Rush was able to sneak into playoffs, and Spaz has built his name as one of the fastest developing player in the draft. He has great stick handling skills with a top-end shot. He could come into the VHL and still put the puck into the net, however the big question is whether he could keep up with the pace of play. Simply put, he's just not ready. He has very low skating and needs to work on that if he wants to be successful in the VHLM let alone the VHL. He will re-enter the VHLM in their draft as well as the VHL. He will likely be in similar draft spots in both drafts, which we expect to be late first round. He might actually have a better shot at going higher in the VHL, considering the talent pool in S71 entering the VHLM Draft. This is a long-term prospect who needs a lot of work. We like this player, but it is very much the case where buyer beware - expect this player to be selected by a team that has had many discussions with him and are comfortable with him as a character person and not just for his on-ice production. @Spaz Class of S70: Mikko Lahtinen Odin Omdahl Jacques Lafontaine Iangenere Risteneen Shawn Glade Jr. Chad Magnum Lewis Dawson

Once again we are taken into the mid-first round of the S70 VHL Entry Draft with Lewis Dawson. Like many of the prospects at this range, Lewis is a highly skilled prospect who had a rather difficult season with the Mexico City Kings as he put up 30 points in 72 games. After Lahtinen, both Magnum and Dawson slot in as the top ranked centers in the draft, but the point production discrepancy is very evident. Dawson, much like Magnum, puts up question marks as to whether he can make the step to the VHL and be productive. Magnum had a high hit total to lean on where really all you can lean on is the depth of his team. Mexico City had both Shush Nyko and Jaxon Walker puting up points and actually put Mexico City in 3rd place. We believe that Dawson will find his way, he is just developing his secondary center skills like faceoffs and strength before his skating and stickwork become elite. This is a player that will definitely take some time; could use some extra time in the minors but will be a good VHL player. This is a player that could be a depth piece and could end up developing into more - just don't expect it right out of the gate. We put this prospect as a mid-to-late first round pick. @monkeywrench15 Class of S70: Mikko Lahtinen Odin Omdahl Jacques Lafontaine Iangenere Risteneen Shawn Glade Jr. Chad Magnum

Chad Magnum is a very interesting prospect. He is represented by a very reputable player agency, and by all standards seems to be a top end prospect. However, Magnum has failed to translate his skills and abilities into on-ice production. He only put up 25 points in his 67 games played this year. He had an incredible 149 hits, but as a first line center you would have expected him to have had more point production. His development has accelerated in the latter half of the season, but many scouts are scared of whether he will be able to take the step to the VHL and be more than a 2nd line defensive specialist. There's no questioning he is one of the hardest hitting forecheckers and an absolute force that has opponents keeping one-eye open. While his skillset would say he's a surefire top five pick, some scouts have him falling as far as the end of the first round due to his point totals in Yukon. We believe he will be a serviceable player, and we believe in the player agency above the point production. The fear is real, but we still have Magnum going in the 6-8 range. @Corco Class of S70: Mikko Lahtinen Odin Omdahl Jacques Lafontaine Iangenere Risteneen Shawn Glade Jr.

Shawn Glade Jr. expects to fall into Davos Dynamo lap, as a GM Rule player. Davos will have to use a 1st round pick to acquire this prospect - however, this is well worth the price of admission. Glade Jr. is a bonafide franchise cornerstone defenseman. He can not only skate like the wind and defend against any of the other top end prospects but he can put up monster points; proven by his 129 point season. Glade Jr. found himself on Ottawa with the 12th pick, and after that @Acydburn found Risteneen in the 3rd round. These two top prospects pulled Ottawa into a playoff position. This is a deep draft for defensemen with both Omdahl and Encarnacion likely being top three picks as defensemen; but don't sleep on Shawn Glade Jr., he could very well come out of this draft as the most successful defensemen. Our projections put this prospect at the top tier end of the spectrum and should be a player who find himself on top of the scoring standings for defensemen in 4-5 seasons. @ShawnGlade Class of S70: Mikko Lahtinen Odin Omdahl Jacques Lafontaine Iangenere Risteneen

After being drafted 23rds overall by the Ottawa Lynx in the VHLM Draft, Iangenere Risteneen has developed into a top ten prospect in the VHL Draft. He is a well-balanced scorer who has been terrific on the top line alongside Joakim Sakic and Owen Kaitanaq. Risteneen put up 91 points in his VHLM season helping Ottawa get into the playoffs. This winger has developed at an impressive rate to the point where some scouts have this player going as high as the top five. He's expected to be a dynamic forward who can find the back of the net in the VHL. He could use another year in the minors before being called up, but that too could depend on where he lands draft-day. This is clearly a top-end prospect and whichever team locks this player down will be more than happy to add to their roster and locker room. @Maasa Class of S70: Mikko Lahtinen Odin Omdahl Jacques Lafontaine

In the third round of the S69 VHL Draft, the Davos Dynamo selected prospect Kristopher McDagg with the 26th overall selection. This was the third pick of a three in a row selection the team had, and while the first of which being Reegsman seems to have fluttered out, Slavik and McDagg seem to be progressing into VHL-Calibre players. McDagg finds himself on an incredible VHLM team in Saskatoon. The team has beenon an incredible 58-4 pace, and should make a deep push in the playoffs. McDagg has registered 16 points in the 62 games played, playing in a supporting grinder role. This is the type of player he is, and projects to be a solid bottom six player in the VHL. While he might not be the flashiest players, his defensive awareness and forechecking ability is what has impressed scouts so far. This player will likely make the VHL roster as soon as next season, and could be seen as an integral part of the rebuild happening in Davos. @Viperxhawks19 Class of S69 Brock Louth Player Card Erik Summers Player Card Soloman Crawford Player Card Fernando Jokinen Player Card Guy Lesieur Player Card Guy Saskamoose Player Card Ben Storm Player Card David O'Quinn Player Card Oskar Lagesson Player Card Shush Nyko Player Card Griff Manzer Player Card
