In the middle of the second round of the VHL Draft, the Vancouver Wolves seemed to have pulled off another great pick. Goaltender prospect Jimmy Spyro has been terrific in the VHLM for the Mississauga Hounds. His performance has led the team to 2nd overall in the standings behind the Saskatoon superteam that has only lost once. Spyro has been statistically speaking the second best goaltender in the minors, however considering the team and defence core ahead of him (in comparison to Lafontaine) you could argue that he has been more of an anchor than any other goalie this season. He projects to be a 1b goaltender in the VHL and could potentially be a starting goalie if given the chance. @Beaviss and the Wolves have a great goalie for the future in Eagles, and Spyro should slot into a backup role as soon as next season. Considering his development so far, we could see a goalie battle in Western Canada in the coming seasons. Spyro's development has really elevated into another gear over the past two months, so we wouldn't be surprised if other GM's come knocking, incquiring about this high-end prospect. @Spyro Class of S69 Brock Louth Player Card Erik Summers Player Card Soloman Crawford Player Card Fernando Jokinen Player Card Guy Lesieur Player Card Guy Saskamoose Player Card Ben Storm Player Card David O'Quinn Player Card Oskar Lagesson Player Card Shush Nyko Player Card Griff Manzer Player Card

Midway through the S69 Season, we are beginning to see the later round prospects develop and emerge as breakout stars. In this profile we take a closer look at Griff Manzer, a pick by @Beaviss of the Vancouver Wolves at the 23rd choice. Manzer entered the draft with 93 TPE, and has impressively collected 164 TPE as of this writing. The late 2nd round pick seems to be a great value pick for the Wolves who might have been perceived as reaching on this pick, but have seemingly gotten their guy and has been a great surprise. He is a steady playmaking hard hitting defenseman. He has 31 points in his 41 games played this VHLM season with the Philadelphia Reapers. He has proven to be a solid defender and projects to be a strong second pairing defenceman. This is a prospect to keep your eye on, as the Wolves have a pedigree of finding gems all throughout the VHL Drafts. @Garsh Class of S69 Brock Louth Player Card Erik Summers Player Card Soloman Crawford Player Card Fernando Jokinen Player Card Guy Lesieur Player Card Guy Saskamoose Player Card Ben Storm Player Card David O'Quinn Player Card Oskar Lagesson Player Card Shush Nyko Player Card

Shush Nyko is the latest VHL Prospect to hit the radar. He seems to be developing quite nicely settling into an all-round scoring winger. Selected in the second round by the Riga Reign, it looks as if @hedgehog337 and the Reign have gotten some value with a pick that was very devalued before the draft. Selected ahead of higher ranked prospects in Lagesson and Jokinen, it looks as if they found a prospect that could serve them well in years to come. Nyko's Mexico City Kings sit 3rd in the VHLM behind the juggernaught Saskatoon Wild. Nyko has found himself on the first line and has proven that given an opportunity he can fiund the back of the net. He is in a close second in league shot percentage and is also second in the league for overall powerplay goals. This is a prospect to keep your eye on, in this marathon. @SDCore Class of S69 Brock Louth Player Card Erik Summers Player Card Soloman Crawford Player Card Fernando Jokinen Player Card Guy Lesieur Player Card Guy Saskamoose Player Card Ben Storm Player Card David O'Quinn Player Card Oskar Lagesson Player Card Remember: Once you hit 100 TPE, you can claim one of these. At 150 you can claim a full signature!

When Jacques Lafontaine delcared for the VHL I bet there were a number of GM's that let a sigh of relief, only momentarily until they realized how many teams are in need of a cornerstone type goaltender. Lafontaine looks to be as advertized, as his Saskatoon Wild have been red hot all season sporting a remarkable 33-1 record. Lafontaine hold to top spot in all three major goalie statlines. He has .906 Save %, 1.68 GAA, and of course the 33 win line. Many might write that off to being on a dominant team in the VHLM, but this should not discount the value of this prospect. Many scouts and analysists say it is much hard to go out and save 15 shots in a night than 25. Lafontaine has proven to be cool under pressure, and has been consistent all year round. There are a number of teams that would be willing to give up a lot to get this goalie prospect, should not be surprised if there are some aggressive trades in order to secure this high value prospect. @SlapshotDragon Class of S70: Mikko Lahtinen Odin Omdahl

It is safe to say the Season 70 will be another stacked draft when it comes to defensemen. one of the top defensive prospects in this draft showcases the young smooth skating scoring d-man from the Mexico City Kings. Already he has put up 54 points in only 33 games, and has garnered the attention of many GM's for his off-ice character. While there are never any guanrentees when it comes to a draft, I think Omdahl is as close as you can get for a player who is going to put up points at any level. He has an incredible scoring touch and hockey sense, making him a great option on the powerplay. He is tied for second in the league with 11 powerplay goals, and has a hat trick on his record as a densemen. He has taken more hits than given, but physicality isn't really his style, and once he grows into his frame, even that too might change. This is a prospect worth keeping an eye on, as he will definitely go in the top five in this draft, and could even be a player some teams take off the board even higher than that! @zepheter Class of S70: Mikko Lahtinen

Introducing the Class of S70 we begin with Mikko Lahtinen of the Beketov Player Agency. This scoring center is the focus of the draft as the player agency has a reputation of representing the finest of young talent. While he is not a sureshot first overall selection, he is an asset that a franchise can build around. He has all the tools to become a first line center and perennial All-Star in the VHL. His VHLM team the Saskatoon WIld hosts a number of top prospects in the next year's draft, and they are currently sitting on top of the league with an astonishing record of 33-1. Lahtinen has put up 51 points on this high scoring team, but has proven his worth on both sides of the puck. This is the kind of prospect GM's only dream of acquiring - we will see with team lands in his favour come lottery time, because this is a guarenteed lottery pick. @Beketov Class of S70:
