  1. Well, I'm not an unknown (he knows me from SHL) but I haven't specifically talked to him so I doubt I'm the one team. That leaves the wouldn't minds.
  2. Now that the new lines are in it shouldn't be an issue. Having default lines with a bunch of CPUs won't help, nor will me letting in 6 goals on 37 shots...
  3. Assuming I'm in the bold, so I ought to warn you that at this time I do not have a pick
  4. I need the $75 one
  5. From the looks of the letters, they're mostly in hiragana, with the occasional katakana thrown in if a word is not found in native Japanese. I see oddly no kanji, and definitely no "moonrunes" (yes, humblebrag that I know enough Japanese to get the lettering series)
  6. Po was a teletubby
  7. Not a single person in this thread knows how to properly do a pronunciation guide. There has to be something to indicate which syllable is stressed.
  8. I'm not even talking to Edgar. This trade and any negotiations leading up to it do not exist.
  9. what the actual fuck i never said a damn thing about this
  10. I don't think it works that way, I think it has to be an increase in actual value, but we'll see what the ruling is
  11. Yeah I get that. This was mostly because I was doing an update, knew I hadn't done a 590, and wanted to get something in. TPE was on my mind because I was in the middle of working with TPE.
  12. This, except of me as well.
  13. TPE is a silly thing, sometimes. We go and put in all this work to get it, yet some players with 400 TPE play like they have 900, and some with 900 play like they have 400. I don't even know if it's worth it anymore. I mean on the whole, there's definitely a positive correlation between having a higher TPE and a more successful player, but when the correlation is only perhaps about a .3 to .5 correlation, and nowhere near a full 1, it's not really something that is as valuable as it potentially could or should be. While I was one of the more diligent of hoarders of the magical TPE with my first player and similarly so with my second, now that I'm on Brookside I miss the occasional bit here or there and don't really mind as much. I mean I'm still pretty heavily getting it, I'll probably be over 475 when I finish the update I'm currently typing up (and this Fan 590 will be in that update) but I'm not worrying so much if I miss a bit here or there. If I end up in the 800s or so, so be it. My 922 player outplayed my 956 player, what's to say my mid-to-high 800s player can't outplay both of them? Yes, I realize it also says something to be worried about a letdown from a player but still likely get well into the 800s, there are valuable and respected members of this community who haven't gotten that for one and a half players, but in the days of 1200 TPE guys, even Intranquilo's 956 seems tiny in comparison.
  14. The thing I usually know that you don't isn't some great, franchise-altering thing, it's usually just something that changes the thing you previously said. The most recent example was when you said I actually needed a forward more than defense, in the one draft thread. I knew that Yuma was going to FA, which meant I definitely needed defense more. You were likely unaware of that at the time. That minor fact changed my need, and therefore had an effect on your statement, without having to be a master plan.
  15. Quota of likes reached, but that would also be a good thing to do, although it wouldn't affect this move. I'd still be signing him for the 7m because he will still serve a purpose on my semi-competitive-ish team.
  16. YOU'RE THE ONE WHO WANTED ME TO NOT PAY HIM AS MUCH. If the rules state that I can give him 7m, and if I don't Frank apparently will, then 7m it is. I basically have to go 7m in order to guarantee getting him (and you can speculate that this or that team might not have afforded him, but speculation is no guarantee). If you want to not pay inactives so much, put it in the damn rules. I agree with it in theory, but I'm not going to put the sake of the league over the sake of my team, it's that simple. I'm offering the rule change as an appeasement to you so that you can get me to not pay him 7m, because again I agree in theory with inactives not being paid, but tell me how exactly I can pay him less and still guarantee getting him on my team, if that's what you fucking want, because every damn time I post something, even if it's got nothing to do with you, you misinterpret it and then jump down my throat about the misinterpretation, then expecting me to defend a point I never made in the first place. I could say that the sky is blue, and you'd somehow find a way to criticize a trade or signing I made. SO you have two choices: 1. Quit acting like you're the GM of Calgary and deciding how I go about my business, and talking shit on every damn move I make, when it's pretty apparent if you could do better you'd still have Cologne, or Helsinki before that, OR 2. If you want inactives to not get paid so much, make a rule forcing it to happen, then I can't do this.
  17. Well, I had 2 in a top-3 heavy draft, one was going to be gone, one didn't want to come to me, and one thought he was going to be on welfare. In theory, even Vlasis might have been better than a season of Yuma, but there are future considerations as well...
  18. The complete unselfish player, which is EXACTLY why you should get games...
  19. When I mentioned in the other thread that I knew something you didn't, it wasn't about trading 2 (although that had been on the table with two teams, but at that point I'd already for the most part settled on keeping it - one team wasn't offering me enough, and with who they were taking, I couldn't deal with the other team and risk losing both my target and my backup target). The thing I knew was that Yumalatopinto was going to FA, hence defense being a bigger need for me than forward. Being in the LR, I had known that a bit before FA opened up, and as you're not in the LR, you would simply not have access to the same information. Also, I have traded down (or out entirely) in the past: http://www.vhlforum.com/index.php?/topic/7748-cgysea-s37-off-season/ http://www.vhlforum.com/index.php?/topic/5630-cgycol-s36-off-season/ http://www.vhlforum.com/index.php?/topic/5506-cgyrig-s36-off-season/
  20. Honestly, I think we need to propose a new rule to the BOG. Inactives in FA (clear inactives, not borderline guys) can only make let's say 5m. Under the rules that are in effect now, I'm going to offer the 7m, I need guys, but for the interest of exactly what you were referring to, I think that's a proposal the BOG needs to look at.
  21. of kurs in alf werld newpeper isnt ded. i wan liv in alf werld i wood hav beter job i wood riet for newpeper
  22. I RUNNED GUD
  23. It is silly, I agree, and I wish we had some sort of inactive-cap that was lower than 7m, but if I want to guarantee getting him and not being outbid, this is the way to do it under the current finance system.
  24. S39 7m S40 3m
