Why the fuck would I want random people messaging me at random times? We as a society discovered that was a problem with things like phone calls, so we developed email/voicemail/text so that the person on the receiving end isn't inconvenienced. Being messaged whenever the fuck someone feels like it is inconvenient to the receiver of the message.

There's not enough going on here (or in any sim league) to make it a one-tab experience. I can't possibly be entertained by just being on this tab and not having things on in other tabs. If I have other tabs open, and spend a good portion of my time on them, then I won't be on here often enough to 1. notice I've been messaged and 2. respond in an amount of time the message sender would consider reasonable. Nor am I required to, as again, it's not convenient for me to be accessible to everyone.

That doesn't even take into consideration if I'm playing a full screen game and have VHL running in the background, at which time I'm spending precisely 0 time on the tab.

So yeah - as a general rule, I don't want to be chat messaged, pretty much ever. If you have something that I can get back to when it's convenient for me, PM me. If you have something time-sensitive, ask someone else, perhaps @Bring Back Chat since he's the one who likes it. IF I'm open to be chat messaged (which I'd assume would basically just be at the trade deadline, the VHLM draft, and that's about it) I'll click online. Otherwise, I want to be seen as offline at all times.

Definitely think I could have won the Boulet at least 2 more times, which would have been really cool, especially if it was 5-straight.
