  1. Andrew Skilton, fresh off his rookie season in the VHL where the Toronto Legion made the Continental Cup finals, figured he’d earned a bit of time to relax before taking part in the offseason ProAm Tournament. Of course, a week would be enough to recuperate from the long VHL season, right? WRONG. Part way through his vacation he had a thought to double check the website for the tournament and realized it had already started! Hastily, he threw together some outfits and grabbed his gear and headed to the airport as soon as he could. Upon arriving at the venue, Skilton immediately went to find tournament commissioner Tetricide to get his name on the draft board. It didn’t take long to find the commissioner, but he was surrounded by all of the GMs and incredibly busy. Somewhat brushing Skilton off, Tetricide said he was too late to join the draft but a team would pick him up afterward, and resumed is duties with the team leaders. Overjoyed about the fact that he could still play despite missing the sign-up window, Andrew took it upon himself to meet some of the other players who would be participating, and was met with a ballroom full of VHLers of the past, present, and future. Many of them approached Skilton to greet him including Legion teammates Harry Callahan and Dorji Khan, star defenceman Bocage, and rival Lucy Leitner who recently bested him for the Continental Cup. Everyone seemed to want to say hi to the frankly underwhelming rookie and he couldn’t figure out why. The most notable introduction, however, was Pombo. They were seemingly not signed up for the tournament but still found themselves in a room full of players that were. Strangely, Pombo actually approached Skilton several times to greet him, each time with an introduction. The first few times he thought it was a joke, but after the fourth he began to worry about Pombo. In a few games where they faced off against each other, Andrew knew he had laid out some crushing hits but this seemed extreme. During their fifth and sixth “introduction”, he made a point to check Pombo’s eyes to make sure there was nothing off there, and they seemed fine. So Skilton made a mental note to inform the VHL medical staff about his interaction with Pombo because he takes CTE very seriously and wants to make sure Pombo has a long and healthy career in the VHL. Next up, the Victory ProAm and then Season 96 in the VHL! mentions: @Tetricide @dstevensonjr @Oddpurplefly @Grape @LucyXpher @samx
  2. Congrats Riga! We almost got there but you were just too much this time. We’ll be back!
  3. Review: I really like this one. The compositions of the large font and the jersey swap is really well done and I wouldn't change that at all. A couple of things that I would tweak a little would be the smaller font and the render. The font of "Protect the Rope", "Anchor Down", "The 21st", and "XCVI" in the top right are really small and hard to read even after zooming in. The thinner font with the large kerning might contribute to that a little as well. As far as the render goes, it fits will with the overall graphic but it blends in a lot with the background. Adding a bit of a lightsource in behind the player would separate them from the background and make them pop a little as well. Overall, well done and I like it very much. 7/10

  7. What!? I truly wasn’t expecting this at all. Thank you to those who nominated me!
  8. I've seen enough heartbreak in my two seasons leading up to now. I'm battle-hardened and ready to go!
  9. I don't know about this one, seems biased to me. If Vancouver had a little more grit on their blueline, especially from de Trueno @Thunder, they might have a chance of winning. I believe a challenge was presented between rookies and de Trueno implied he would cower at the sight of the Legion's towering rookie defenceman, so it doesn't look good. We don't need a "star" goalie for them to play like a star every game.
  10. Thank you for the shout out! Less than a season in and getting this kind of recognition is an inspiration to keep it up and get better. While my time was short with @Ricer13, I learned so much and gained a lot of confidence in taking that role. I would definitely work with him again and think we would be force to be reckoned with together. Amazing article!
  11. @Thunder
  12. The Mackingikus trade was partially to stay pick compliant for the next draft. I did made a small mistake in thinking that Hudson would be staying with the team next season but overall I’m still happy. I got a good two way player and recouped some draft capital
  13. You're back! Love to see it
  14. Next time you play Toronto I’ll drop the gloves with you! Rookie fight between former teammates will be one to watch

Thank you for the trade talks with the team @vincentlg2007 we were lucky to get you in the draft and have a Mississauga legend for a little while. We appreciate your understanding to the process and wish you all the best! @ThunderCloud Welcome to the Hounds! We're excited about where this team is going!
  16. Looks like Jacob Smith Jr. leads that category with a shooting percentage of 16.67% (4 goals on 24 shots), followed by Shevchenko with 11.34% (11 goals on 97 shots)
  17. Congratulations @Oddpurplefly! I know you’ll do great
