Hello and welcome to the recap of the S80 VHLE Awards! S80 marked the first time in VHL history where a third league was introduced. The VHLE was a great addition and brought a lot of talent and competition with it. Congratulations to all of the winners!

And just like that, the inaugural VHLE season has concluded! A fantastic introduction to the league saw a tight race for playoff positions, resulting with your first four teams to ever make the playoffs; The Vasteras Iron Eagles, Stockholm Vikings, Bratislava Watchmen, and Rome Gladiators. Your top GM is always a friendly face; congrats to @thadthrasher for establishing his claim as the best ever VHLE manager (so far), well earned for taking his Vikings to the top of the regular season with a 94 point record, thanks in large part to the regular season MVP Omi Aberg!

 

The Iron Eagles took out the regular season champs of Stockholm in a thrilling seven game series in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Rome beat Bratislava in a brutal sweep, but fell short in the finals as Vasteras won another seven game series to win the first ever Renaissance Cup! Congrats to all the Iron Eagles players and manager @rjfryman, especially to Willy Myers for leading them on to greatness, earning the distinction of Playoffs MVP in the process.

 

A fitting end that mirrors the VHL’s own original season, which saw Vasteras IK lift the Continental Cup. Will this iteration of Vasteras face the same 25 season curse that followed? Only time will tell; for now, we can only sit back and enjoy the hockey. A big thank you to the original VHLE commissioners @Victor and @Acydburn for their work getting the VHLE up and running. We look forward to next season when two new competitors join the fray; featuring a return of the Oslo Storm and the rise of the Geneva Rush. Until then, thank you and good night!

I appreciate the hard work that the Vikings did this season, especially my trusty AGM @Kisslinger. I'm thankful for the votes by everyone for the Top VHLE GM, I really am humbled by that. I look forward to another great season with the Vikings!
