Swiss Central Gazzette (Marcel's stats/Dan's stats)

Our local hockey heroes played two games each in the interim. Please find the respective reports hereunder.

Marcel's 21st battled the Reapers in a 2-1 defeat. The only goal for the Nova Scotians was scored by AL @bigAL(Hagel, Von Strangle) in power play for the 1-1 equalizer. The three stars were Notes @O Ghost O(1g/0a) , Jarvinen @Collusion (18 saves) and AL (1g/0a). Jarvinen showed an almost perfect game with a .947 saving rate and outshone Zininger's @ScoreAGoalBudEh .867. The 21st's power play was underwhelming (1/7) but penalty kill was flawless (3/3).

Marcel had 0g, 0a, -1 and 2 PIM (Tripping, logically no consequences on the scoreboard) to his name.

The second match was against the Bulls and was lost 5-3. The Bulls came out of the lockerroom on fire and scored 5 consecutive goals, before Halifax was able to react. McMuffin @Ente2997(Volchenko) and Von Strangle @Timmy Turner(Hagel, AL) and Janser @Morcar80 (Warrior, McMuffin) scored for the 21st, where Marcel's goal was a textbook example of a point power play goal. The formation circulated the puck around until Marcel saw the light and let loose a big slapper from the blue line and found the back of the net via the crossbar. Charlie @Bigchuck01 (1g/2a), DB III @wcats (2g/1a) and Elsby @Spence King (1g/0a) were named three stars of the match. Des Aves (.893) was clearly better than McGleis @lukechezzwoo. The Halifax' was very good (2/7), their penalty kill (3/5) was not.

Marcel logged 1g, 0a, +0 and 2sb

Daniel played in four games since last we reported from him.

The first game was against Cologne Express and ended 7-5 win. The first period ended with a 1-1 score and Daniel provided the assist to Oslo's goal with a sweet saucer pass. The second period was a roller coaster with the tides of battle ebbing and flooding for the one team or the other with the score for this period alone being 4-3 for the Storm. Knale @HatrickRoy(Janser, Sprout), Doe (Janser), Sprout @Liberty_Cabbage (Nezuko, Puhovs) and Toon @Alexander Ewing (Nezuko, Fletcher) were succesful for the Norse. Early in the third, Cologne equalized. This was when Daniel decided to step up to the plate. With less than five minutes left in the game, he deflected Knale's shot from the point (Toon received the puck from Puhovs) for the game winner. Three and a half minutes later he delivered the coup de grace on a deserted crease when Nezuko won the puck, passed it to Toon who in turn one-touched it to the quick and nimble Swiss. This must have been one of the older Janser's better if not the best game yet. Rightfully, he was declared man of the match with two goals and 3 assists, alongside with Pete @PistolP (2g/1a) and Ranogajec @ColeMrtz (1g/3a). Fletcher @DragonFire420  (.902) dominated Protagonist @Jericho (.800) clearly and showed who is boss. The Storm's power play was magnificent (4/5) whereas the penalty kill (5/8) could have lost them the game, were it not for Daniel's last minute brace of goals.

Daniel recorded 2g, 3a, +3, 2 hits and 2sb

The second encounter was the direct rematch which was lost 5-4 after a heroic battle going into the shoot out lottery. The first period ended in a one-a-side draw. Puhovs @VOID Stiles (Sprout) scored in power play for the Storm. The second period was also a 1-1 draw. This time Knale (Puhovs, Sprout) converted the one man advantage. The third period started and ended with an Oslo goal interrupted by two back to back goals by Cologne. Puhovs (Sprout) found the back of the net in power play and Doe (Janser) succeeded at 5vs5. As the sudden death did not bring a decision, it was down to penalty shots to find a winner. Unfortunately, Daniel's attempt missed its mark and the Express came out of this game, which did not deserve a loser, victorious. The three stars were Pete (0g/3a), Puhovs (2g/1a) and Karjalainen @UnkemptCL4PTP (1g/1a). The goalkeeper feud was won by Fletcher (.922) who teabagged Protagonist (.862) even though the former almost faced double the shots of the latter (51 vs 29). The Storm's power play was irresistable (3/5) and their penalty kill still okay-ish (4/5).

Daniel was reported with 0g, 1a, 0, 2 PIM (Hooking, no goal scored in the ensuing power play), 4 hits, 2sb and 33:06 TOI.

The third game was against Istanbul and was lost 1-2. The only goal for the Norse was scored by Puhovs (Knale, Sprout). The three stars of the match were Li @Ryan Li (1g/1a), Kloxified @Kloxified(28 saves) and Fletcher (46 saves). Not for nothing were the two netminders nominated for the three stars as both Fletcher (.958) as well as Kloxified (.966) have very impressive saving rates to show for their herculean efforts. Oslo's power play was disappointing (0/4) while their penalty kill was flawless (4/4).

Daniel achieved 0g, 0a, -1, 2 PIM (Slashing, no effects on the score), 3 hits, 2sb and 29:44 TOI

The forth and final game was against the Red Wolves again with a 4-0 loss. The three stars were Kloxified (shutout), Bonaparte (1g/0a)@CptSquall and Waffles @Edustava (1g/0a). Kloxified had obviously a 1.000 saving rate against Fletcher's .927 which is still respectable. Oslo's penalty kill was rather on the weak side (5/7) and power play was inefficient (0/4) and were even scored against.

Daniel had 0g, 0a, +0, 10 PIM (Hooking, Roughing (Double Minor), High Sticking and Tripping, no goals allowed in these box plays) and 2 hits.

The stats for the brothers so far are:

Marcel: 14gp, 2g, 8a, 10pts, -11, 10 PIM, 11 hits, 24sb, 1gwg, 2ppg

Daniel:  16gp, 8g, 8a, 16pts, -5, 28 PIM, 47 hits, 11sb, 1gwg, 2ppg

We will keep you updated on the brother's adventures in the big leagues.
