Daniel Janser 2,216
Swiss Central Gazzette Today we are only looking at Daniel's games as Marcel has had a day off in the league. Without further ado, please find our summary for the Calgary matches. 3-2 (SO) The first match was against self-proclaimed S82 Continental Cup winner Riga Reign and ended in a 3-2 loss after shootout. 2:49 minutes were played in the first frame, when Daniel in power play dug out a lost puck behind Riga's net. He passed it to Johnson who could not control it with all the sticks interfering but the biscuit ends up with Funk who blasts it past T. Reinhart for the 1-0 lead. The second period ended 1-1 with Jokinen finding the back of the net for the Wranglers to increase the lead by one. However, Riga pulls one back with one and a half minutes left. The third period goes 1-0 to Riga and the ensuing Sudden Death did not bring a winner. So up to shootout it was once again where only Miklavz and Tallinder succeeded. The three stars went to Reinhart (35 saves), Funk (1g/0a) and Markov (1g/0a). Klamasteris (.943) and Reinhart (.946) had both a great night, alas with a slight statistical advantage for the Riga keeper. The Wranglers' power play was okay (1/5) and the box play decent (4/5). Daniel was noted with 0g, 1a, +0, 2 PIM (Goalie interference, no effect on the score), 2 hits, 1sb and 48.72 FO%. 4-5 (SO) The second match was against the Predators and ended in a 5-4 shootout loss. Warsaw scored first after less than three minutes played, following the opening face-off. A mere 32 seconds later though, Daniel shoots and misses the net by inches. The orphaned puck is picked up by Perry, who has a go as well with similar effect. Nasherov gives it a try and he succeeds where Perry and Janser did not. Seven and a half minutes later, Daniel wins the draw in the Wranglers' zone and passes the puck to Perry. Wilk is a tad late with his check, but he was already committed so no foul play on Janser. Meanwhile Perry relayed the disc to veteran defender Eagles who carries it into Warsaw's end and shoots, just to miss. Daniel gains the puck in behind the net and scores a wrap-around goal. The first period ends with a 2-1 lead for the Albertan team. The second period sees a brace for either team, with Johnson and Reinhart scoring for their colours. The Preds manage to equalize the score in the third and again the Wranglers have to go into OT. History repeats himself when no team was able to score in the Sudden Death, so the teams had to show their skills from the face-off mark. Jokinen was the only Wrangler to beat Tot, while Wing and Moreau converted for the Polish team. Johnson (1g/0a), Trunov (1g/1a) and Janser (1g/1a) were awarded the three stars for the night. Klamasteris (.913) was a tot (pun intended) better than his adversary in the Predators' net (.911). The Wranglers did not have any power play opportunity and denied Warsaw a goal during their four attempts. Daniel had 1g, 1a, -1, 4 hits as well as 1sb to his name and won 63.04% of his draws. Daniel's totals sofar: 16gp, 7g, 14a, 21pts, +17, 30 PIM, 50 hits, 10sb, 1gwg and 55.61% FOW Stay tuned for further updates on Marcel 'the Hammer' and Daniel 'the Swiss Army Knife' Janser's careers overseas. https://vhlforum.com/topic/116055-a-tale-of-two-brothers-light-and-shadow/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/116127-a-tale-of-two-brothers-a-flip-of-a-coin/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/116211-a-tale-of-two-brothers-one-sixth-done-five-to-go/ VAS/GEN; S82 - Trades - Victory Hockey League (vhlforum.com) https://vhlforum.com/topic/116241-a-tale-of-two-brother-gettin-on-up/ GM 117: Riga Reign vs. Calgary Wranglers (vhlportal.com) GM 128: Calgary Wranglers vs. Warsaw Predators (vhlportal.com) Spoiler @Morcar80 @hedgehog337 @Phil @Rayzor_7 @Spaz @jRuutu @kelvi @Patrik Tallinder @JetsFan81 @Vat @tinafrombobsburgers @Greg_Di @Ricer13 @Trunkxolotl @chikn @weekz @qripll Edited February 9, 2022 by Daniel Janser chikn, Ricer13, Lemorse7 and 2 others 4 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/116272-a-tale-of-two-brothers-vhl-only/ Share on other sites
