ASH KETCHUM @dlamb Charizard lv 47 Venusaur lv 50 Gengar lv 40 GARY OAK @Lemorse7 Umbreon lv 29 Jolteon lv 47 Charizard lv 40 GARY starts at a bit of a disadvantage in levels as he will start with Umbreon, but it's possible he's counting on Jolteon, who's performed very well in this game, to make things happen later on. ASH chooses to lead with Charizard, who will get the first move with Fire Blast. Spoiler Umbreon survives and hits back with Dark Pulse! Spoiler Charizard is able to counter with another Fire Blast, though, and Umbreon is knocked out. GARY will bring out his best fighter in Jolteon, who uses Thunder and returns the favor! With both trainers down one Pokemon, ASH will follow with Venusaur. Venusaur uses Earthquake... Spoiler ...and Jolteon goes down! Things could be evened out pretty quickly, though, as GARY has a Charizard in the tank. Charizard loads up a super effective Fire Blast... Spoiler ...and despite a 2x multiplier, Venusaur survives! Venusaur is able to counter with Solar Beam... Spoiler ...which isn't very effective. Charizard is able to score a knockout on the next hit. It's down to one Pokemon each as ASH will close with Gengar... Spoiler ...who will use Shadow Ball... Spoiler ...CHARIZARD SURVIVES! Can GARY win it on this next move? Spoiler ...GENGAR SURVIVES! Will ASH now be the one to finish the fight as he's given the opportunity? Spoiler One more Shadow Ball... Spoiler ...and down goes Charizard! The two Rivals have squared off again and proven themselves worthy of each other's competition, but as far as this last round goes... PROFESSOR OAK @JardyB10 Rapidash lv 51 Gyarados lv 43 Machamp lv 43 KOGA @rory Rapidash lv 44 Venusaur lv 48 Gengar lv 45 BOTH of our trainers will start this battle with Rapidash! PROFESSOR OAK gets the first move, with his being at a higher level. Spoiler ...well, that was fast! I'd hoped for more Rapidash-on-Rapidash violence, but PROFESSOR OAK has planned ahead and used Earthquake for this match's first knockout. KOGA will move forward with Venusaur and Poison Jab. ...This isn't very effective... Spoiler ...and Rapidash will strike again with Fire Blast! KOGA is now down to just Gengar, who will use Shadow Ball and pick up a healthy dose of revenge on Rapidash, dealing a knockout in return. PROFESSOR OAK will bring in Machamp in return. Spoiler Machamp is given an Oran Berry and uses Thunder... Spoiler ...Gengar survives and uses Thunder right back, which it has also been taught... Spoiler Machamp survives, and even gets a little rebound from the berry! Another Thunder in return... Spoiler ...and Gengar is knocked out! PROFESSOR OAK WINS! RED @omgitshim Gyarados lv 55 Venusaur lv 54 Poliwrath lv 52 BILL @OrbitingDeath Exeggutor lv 43 Gyarados lv 52 Raichu lv 45 Presented to you move-by-move by yours truly! Spoiler RED chooses Gyarados (and switches it to a Steel-type!), while BILL will lead with Exeggutor. RED gets the first move. Spoiler Gyarados uses Hurricane... Spoiler ...it's super effective! One move down, one knockout recorded by RED. BILL responds with another Gyarados. Spoiler BILL's Gyarados will use Hydro Pump... Spoiler ...and RED's Gyarados survives it! Coming back with Hyper Beam... Spoiler BILL will get a second chance at a knockout as this move also doesn't get the job done. Spoiler RED stays in it! Coming in with one more attack... Spoiler ...and it's another knockout! BILL will have to hope that Raichu can finish the fight. Spoiler Raichu will use Thunder... Spoiler ...it's super effective! BILL is on the board as RED follows up with Venusaur. Spoiler Venusaur uses Earthquake... Spoiler Spoiler ...IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE! Raichu is knocked out! RED WINS! Not only this battle, but also first place in the final tournament! In 5th place with 15 VPs: @Doomsday! 15 VPs is about what I thought the winners would be around. So everyone above this mark blew me away! In 4th place with 16 VPs: @rory ! How many more are there??? I also must give a HUGE thank you to @Gustav for helping make this game run, along with his clever contributions to the ever growing spreadsheet. And of course thank you to all who took a chance to sign up and play this game that had never been play tested before and had a crazy long rule book. I thoroughly appreciate all of your kind words throughout these ~2 weeks, and enjoyed seeing many of you spend a fair amount of time and energy to try and figure out how best to "beat" this game. That alone I found to be one of the best complements of all. Now as for what's next... There WILL be a Town of Pallet #2. Probably will need a week to work on the many changes that will be coming before the next game. And if there is a Town of Salem game in the meantime, probably will start after that. Yeah he deserved to be on the 2nd team, but I picked Espeon and Raichu because they had very memorable moments where they did exceptionally well.
