Thanks for the kind words. When I realized that underground mall was called Path, I couldn't resist the pun. No cucking from this narrator, I'm afraid.  

 

You do capture Ryuji's essence well when you called him an edgelord. In P5, most of the time you can spend with Ann is at a mall underneath the Tokyo subway, so it seemed a logical place to bring her and help flesh out the hockey performance side of Ryuji so far.

 

As for the roleplaying, in the past I've done a lot of 1st person stuff. Klose was very much a 1st person experience, but roleplaying him coming out of SHL retirement and into the VHL, and then finishing his career in Seattle (while I was still the SHL's Seattle GM) was just good storytelling. Ravenwing was fun, as a descendant of Welsh nobility. Casey Jones was Casey mf'ing Jones from TMNT. Trivium was the demon from The Phantom Tollbooth, mostly just because I like his style. 

 

tldr - roleplaying my players, whether 1st person or via narrator, keeps me interested in the league, and helps keep my writing muscles somewhat in shape when life keeps me too busy to actually work on my current novel (my 4th).
