Watched Anchorman 2 today, it was damn funny.  Obviously not as good as the first, but if you go in expecting that, you're guaranteed to be disappointed.

My favourite exchange:

"Do you even know what a psychologist is?"

"Fuck you!"

The last half hour was probably a little too over the top though.

American Hustle: 7/10.

I know this got rave reviews, but it really didn't do it for me. Was it bad? No. Was it great? I didn't think so. There just wasn't anything about the movie that really stood out to me.

American Hustle: 7/10.

Just saw this and I'd give it a 9/10. Great film, imo. Loved the dialogue between everyone, every single actor did a great job, and the story was really intriguing and kept me interested to see the end the whole time. Though, I can totally get why some people didn't like it a ton.

JUST came back from seeing this and I agree with your score for different reasons.

It was just one of those movies that I couldn't like any character. I guess I should've expected every character to be a scumbag in a movie called "American Hustle", but I really just couldn't connect with any of them.

Wolf of Wall Street

9/10

Leonardo is simply one of the best actors around right now, and the movie absolutely does the book it's justice. I don't give it a perfect score only because there are some element within the book that are different then the movie.

American Hustle: 7/10.

i'd give it the same. the acting was amazing, and the movie as a whole was good, but uneventful.

Wolf of Wallstreet: 9/10 - jonah hill surprised me in a good way. the only complaint i'd have is that the ending didn't seem strong enough to accompany the rest of the film

Bad Grandpa 6/10

Wasn't overly impressed with this movie, maybe I just went into it expecting to much after seeing the preview. It had it's moments, but overall it honestly wasn't that great. Kind of glad I downloaded rather then paying to see it.

On the other hand I am looking forward to seeing Wolf of Wallstreet, hopefully I can convince the girlfriend to go to is this weekend.

Saw the Wolf of Wall Street. Great movie, really are return to form to me for Marty Scorsese. For those who have seen it or if you haven't go see it an older movie that Marty did called Casino. Wolf of Wall Street felt like Casino through and through. Had a bit of Good Fellas sprinkled in and then carved out it's own identity as more of a Black Comedy but it certainly reminded me of old school Marty that I used to love.

His filmmaking back then and what Wolf of Wall Street is does is take a very sensitive and socially interesting subject and structure the film to really make the audience take a look at the world and ourselves. They aren't happy, they are actually rather depressing. Wolf is hilarious because it is a black comedy but if you actual stop and think about the subject matter and what is happening it is utterly depressing because the actual reality of a lot of what happens in the film is true to life. After some years of Scorsese not pushing the envelope I was worried that his filmmaking magic was gone, or that he had just moved on...but this was really a dream come true movie for me. Fantastic. One of the best films I've seen in a while. Great start for my viewing experiences this year as well as we have Transcendence and Interstellar ergo another Nolan movie this year. Pumped!

Saw American Hustle a few days ago was a good movie I thought the ending was weak though.  The main issue I had was the opening scene was funny and great then I thought the rest of the movie wasn't quite at that same level.  Also disappointed b/c I heard Amy and Jen were gonna lez out and that scene was a let down.  Going to go see Wolf of Wall Street in a couple days expecting good things Leo is my favorite actor of the last many years now.

Just finished a Philosophy of Film Course and watched some pretty good movies in it, Feel free to check them out if you haven't or re-watch them. I enjoy them all but I love movies that make you think.

The Truman Show (Jim Carrey is excellent)

Fight Club (My all time favourite movie. I'd tell you more but i've already said too much)

Donnie Darko (The only good film but a mediocre director)

Moon (Sam Rockwell is great)

Momento (Watch with your full attention, timeline is very messed, have to pay attention)

A Clockwork Orange (The most messed up movie here, not for the faint of heart)

Those were a few we watched in that class, all are excellent films imo.

If anyone knows of movies like these please tell me, I love films like those and am always looking for a new movie to watch.
