Almost 100% agreed with your post. I kind of dislike the CoD series for what it represents, but I still find myself picking up about every second game of the series when it's down to about 20 €, primarily for the multiplayer, although just like you I noticed that I spend less and less time in them with each game. Skipped Ghosts as well, but going by my steam stats the trend is pretty clear: MW 2 - 133 hours, BO1 - 74 hours, BO2 - 48 hours and so far I didn't have any motivation to get Ghosts.

I'm not really using any guides for my DS2 build or anything, so there are probably a ton of things I could do better. Right now I'm using a sword and shield combo with a longsword+fire and a 100% shield. Since the shield is pretty heavy and I'm also using a heavy armor I had to put a lot of points into vitality to get my equipment load up. I'm around Lvl. 100 now and have both Strength and Vitality in the 30-35 range and Dexterity at 25. It's working pretty well so far, although I am not quite sure if I should try and level up a different weapon because I found the longsword so early in the game. It is by far my best weapon at the moment since I have it at +7 I think but I don't know how well it will hold up later in the game so I will probably have to look into this a bit soon.

I never got through DS1 as well, I'd say I played about a third of it until I lost interest, don't really know why. Which build are you using?

I'm going with a melee faith build with offensive miracles. I've joined the Covenant that gives you the Lightning Spear miracle, and been going down that path. As such my weapon build is kind of stuff that scales into Faith more so. I'm aiming for a Crescent Axe upgrade when I can get to the Tomb of the Giants and grab it. But right now I have a +5 Divine Battle Axe and a Silver Knights Shield. I'm kind of hybrid heavy armour so I still have good stamina and can still medium roll. I hate fat rolling. But Havels ring is good for just boosting the equip load. I think I'm like Soul Level 60. One thing I noticed about coverage of DS2 over DS is that it seems levelling up in DS2 happens a lot more frequently but has less of an overall effect. I know most people beat DS between like lvl 80-100 and your already at 100 in DS2 and not done it.

I'm really just stuck on the dual Anor Londo bosses though, two knights of some variety. They are a pain in the ass even when I summon an NPC in with me. You kill one and the other gets full health and steals all the powers/abilities of the previous one and gains a one hit kill attack as well.

I'm in the same boat as a lot of you. I've been bailing on COD sooner and sooner every year since Black Ops 1, and I didn't even waste my time with Ghosts. A really good way to look at the series -- especially with how big it is in the eSports world -- is as an annual sports game rather than an first person shooter. People buy it every year for the new rosters (new guns + maps) and various tweaks. I'm not a huge fan of the overall COD community either, if you watched my YouTube channel through much of last year I was incredibly vocal about this.

All that said, Call of Duty was a series I got a huge amount of enjoyment out of and I think that Treyarch is still capable of making a good game, it's just pulled down by its community. Furthermore, each sub-series so far has been branching out to have their own mythology and while the core gun handling and movement is the same, everything around it varies from slightly to vastly different. Even from title to title it changes. Black Ops favored a more defensive, tactical style. At least in my opinion, that's what I found more successful. Black Ops 2 on the other hand made previous CODs feel like they were in molasses, as the speed had been seriously cranked up a few notches.

Sledgehammer is lead by the guys that created Dead Space, and I adore that game so I'm willing to give Advanced Warfare a chance. Like I said, Sledgehammer has an opportunity here to overhaul the game's systems and I'm curious to see what they do. At the very least, the campaign should be entertaining for a

weekend.

P.S. Fuck y'all Dark Souls n00bs. Get the original (and still the best), Demon's Souls. :P

EDIT: SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT PROJECT BEAST JUST LEAKED. NEW GAME BY FROM SOFTWARE + SCE JAPAN STUDIO. LOOKS LIKE A DEMON'S SOULS SUCCESSOR. E3 HYPE TRAIN FULL SPEED AHEAD.

Already beat Demons Souls. It's the same studio though and they make fantastic games.

Honestly I am going to get the next game just because unlike the past the past 2 games, this one has not been rushed in 2 years. They have been developing it since the launch of MW3 and with that much time I dont see how they could screw it up and Sledgehammer helped make MW3 in I think they said 8 months (?) and it was a solid game. Imagine what Sledgehammer has done in 3 years...

Whether you guys say COD is washed up and no longer a good game, there are still a lot of people that are going to be excited for this game.

My build is probably the noobiest and most obvious there is, I don't really know much about the whole magic/miracle system at all, as I always felt like it was something for the more advanced player. How exactly do you play in a fight? I can still medium roll as well by the way despite using heavy armor, but it cost me a lot of souls for my equipment load and I only use a relatively light weapon. Definitely agree with you on the leveling aspect by the way, it went pretty fast especially at the beginning, but the overall effect improving one of your skills by one point has is pretty low. I'd say I'm about halfway through the game now and Lvl 110-120 I think, so you go higher than in DS1 one for sure.

I never got as far as Anor Londo in DS1, if I remember correctly I stopped playing a bit after Blighttown, Sen's Fortress was the last area I was in I think. Sure sounds like a tough boss fight, multiple enemies are always tough and DS2 as a bunch of those as well, although I would say the game is a bit easier than DS1 outside of the boss fights.

As if we needed another reason to say Call of Duty players are immature, someone just took the time to send almost 15 tweets to me containing the following message. He wasn't happy with what I had to say about where I think Sledgehammer should take the series.

Except, you ignorant piece of shit, your suggestion that there's ANYTHING inherently wrong with set pieces tied together by a storyline' is nothing but a load of utter fucking idiotic and blatantly untrue bullshit. FACT of the matter is that it's a perfectly valid structure of a story and can + has produced incredible works in the past, presently,  undoubtedly will continue to do so in the future. So long as the story is compelling, well-woven, and exists as its own entity without feeling as though it's there only to serve as filler for the next set piece, and the set pieces themselves are both relevant to the story, push said tale forward, and avoid being excessive works with this structure are PERFECTLY well worth playing/watching; anyone who isn't an utter fucking idiotic, tasteless piece of shit like yourself would know such. Needless to say, your suggestion otherwise was nothing but a load of utter fucking idiotic and blatantly untrue bullshit. Shut the fuck up and educate yourself before you spout such inane bullshit again. Failing that, just go fuck your slutty-ass bitch mother, contract her MANY stds, and die you pathetic piece of shit; do us all a favor. I'll now take my permanent leave of this shit page/account so whatever undoubtedly utter fucking idiotic bullshit you or anyone sends my way will NEVER reach me. Deal, dumb fuck; this is our last contact. you and your utter fucking idiotic and blatantly untrue bullshit lose, I and the facts I state win. Another fact for your sorry, stupid-ass tasteless bitch ass.

What a fucking ass. I watched your video, you were actually relatively positive about where Sledgehammer was likely to take the series which was really surprising from you haha. No real reason at all for him to freak out at you. The campaigns have been getting more and more predictable since CoD 4. I still enjoy them before going to the multiplayer, just something I always do, but I can admit that you aren't wrong.

NHL 15. Finally a new play-by-play team. More than that, I actually did a double take when I saw Rogers Arena in the trailer. EA is finally making every area look like it should, I think the only thing I can't see in there is the Ring of Honour. The banners at each end look accurate and everything.

There's very few details I'm not seeing in there. I'm not sure if the Ring of Honour is cut off or not there, but so much of the other stuff is accurate. The "Heart of a Canuck" banners at each end of the rink, the painted steps, all the boxes in between the lower and upper bowls, and the lighting seems pretty spot on as well. I'm happy that EA is trying to get the arenas accurately portrayed for once.

Finally no more Gary Thorne and Bill Clement! No more "Zach Bogosian is of Armenian descent born and raised in Buffalo, NY!"

Vancouver's arena has always had the most realistic look in NHL since they are based in Vancouver so I want to see other arenas

Ehhh. It's been one of the better ones, but it hasn't been updated since 08 besides adding in the Rogers Arena logo. This one looks almost exact. Hopefully they replace the annoying PA guy, I miss John Ashbridge but I know he's not doing much these days. They should get Al Murdoch, he does most of the Canucks games now so I'm sure he's around.

EDIT: Still looking at the picture. They got the entrance into the lower bowl accurate and it looks like the modeled the restaurant/bar in the upper deck as well. I'm impressed.

I'm optimistic about the changes. The new play by play team is like 8 years overdue, but I'm glad it is finally happening. The presentation to make it feel more like watching hockey on TV I think is a step forward as well. The modelling of arena''s and crowd to be more life lick and realistic is a great touch.

I just wonder how much of these features make the old gen versions of the games. Do you they cut stuff so the 360 and PS3 versions run better? Their site makes a lot of hype about how next gen has enabled them to do so much more and it'll be interesting to see what that means for the older consoles. I'm also eager to see the net front scramble stuff in action, and if they have continued to make changes to Be a Pro and Be a GM.
