Toast 887 Posted May 8, 2015 Share Posted May 8, 2015 Stockholm was destined for a championship run after making one of the biggest trades that the league has seen in quite some time. The Vikings essentially signed off their future for a shot right now by bringing in Tom Slaughter, Jody 3 Moons, and Brick Wahl from the rebuilding Americans. With those three additions on top of a decent Stockholm roster beforehand, everyone thought that there was no way this team would fail in a weaker European conference. One of those supposed saviours though has flopped, and that's putting it lightly. Since arriving in Stockholm, Brick Wahl has posted abysmal numbers. In Wahl's 12 games this season, he has managed just a .874 percentage on a stacked Vikings team. While the Vikings sit in third overall in the Euro conference at the moment, they lead the league in goals for. So it's hard to not see Wahl as a main concern for Stockholm. They've even gone as far to bring in the rookie Blake Campbell to tend the net (and he has put up a fantastic .937 over five games!) while Wahl tries to find his game again. Only one other goalie has ever done that and he has the Playoff MVP trophy named after him. One cannot say that this is why they aren't running away with the regular season lead. Cologne would be no weaker and would still be right up there with them. The Yes option is just a little disingenuous to Cologne and I don't believe Stockholm would be running away with the lead even if Wahl was playing out of his skin. So No vote for me this week.
