evrydayimbyfuglien 600 Posted May 2, 2016 Share Posted May 2, 2016 (edited) When reviewing the season 47 draft, it is common to miss those players assigned to a team through the GM rule. Tom Lincoln is one such player. He was assigned to the Quebec City Meute because his agency, brovy agency, is the owner and GM of the team. Lincoln demolishes the water bottle. Tom Lincoln played in all 72 games for the Meute in his rookie season and had a very good rookie campaign amassing 26 goals and 37 assists for 63 points. He was a minus-39 on the year but that’s to be expected on a team that only won 15 games, not to mention the fact that they almost allowed double the goals they scored on the year. He should have been in the running for rookie of the year since the winner, Joel Jarvi of the Cologne Express only had four more points and eleven less goals that year from the blue line. Lincoln’s production is not limited to goals and assists. He was also very efficient in not taking stupid penalties only collecting 27 penalty minutes. He also lead the team in power play points and minutes played per game, making that 27 penalty minutes all the more impressive. As a center, he was also relied upon to take crucial faceoffs playing 171 penalty kill minutes and winning over fifty percent of the 3106 faceoffs he took. Following his rookie year, he took a huge step forward in season 48 and greatly improved almost all aspects of his game. He avoided a sophomore slump and recorded 94 points, 14 of them on the powerplay, the following season. He went up to sixth overall in points on the year behind some very familiar and more experienced names like Lord Karnage, Max Molholt, and Aleksi Koponen; he had been ranked 28th his rookie year. Lincoln is now among the top producers in the league despite only entering what will now be his third season. He managed to only be in the sin bin for 19 penalty minutes his second season and improved his shooting percentage from around eight percent his rookie year to 10% this past season. I said he improved in almost all aspects because one department he apparently neglected between season 47 and 48 was faceoffs. He made a change to winger except on the penalty kill and his faceoff percentage suffered as a result only winning 46.65% of the 553 he took. If his upward trend continues, Quebec City might be a threat sooner rather than later. They have several young pieces together already in the dynamic duo of John Sleeman and Felipe Rodriguez, who we got to see in action to close out the year. They also have Unassisted who was a Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy finalist and will be a key part in the success of the Meute. They will be much improved in the back end with the addition of Dmitri Dadonov who has had a very good year in the VHLM for Oslo with nine shutouts and a sub-2.00 goals against average. The future is bright in Quebec and Tom Lincoln and brovy agency are a big part of the reason why.
