A: France 7 pts, Switz 5, Alb 2, Romania 1

B: England 7, Russia 4, Wales 4, Slovakia 1

C: Germany 9, Poland 4, Ukraine 4, N. Ireland 0

D: Spain 9, Croatia 4, Turkey 2, Czech 1

E: Belgium 7, Italy 6, Sweden 4, Ireland 0

F: Portugal 7, Austria 5, Iceland 4, Hungary 0

Poland>Switz

Spain>Iceland

Spain> Poland

England>Ukraine

Italy>Portugal

Italy>England

Germany>Wales

Belgium>Croatia

Belgium>Germany

France>Sweden

Russia>Austria

France>Russia

Spain>Italy

Belgium>France

Belgium>Spain

(I'm a little annoyed that Germany and Belgium look likely to be in the same quadrant of the knockout phase - Belgium might actually be better off trying to be 2nd in their group, get into quadrant 2 instead of Italy, then the semis would be Spain/Belgium/Germany/France, the actual best four teams)

Sadly Germany may not be one of the best 4 teams. I say that as a realist, they have not played German football in a year. Also Group D is a hard one to pick for 2nd/3rd. Turkey and Czech Republic aren't teams to ever count out, sadly they may lose out on points though.

Top Young Star:

Biggest Surprise Team (who took leaps and bounds):

Biggest Disappointment (Team):

I have them as 4th best, but Italy, England, or Portugal could be better. I also kind of see Poland as a dark horse, probably not deep enough but the top few guys are there.

As for Turkey/Czech, if they were in different groups they'd probably be 3rds with enough points to advance (a win over the 4th place side for each with the possibility of stealing a draw elsewhere) but since they're in each other's group, and Spain should get 3 wins from 3, it's probably one one other team out of that group and I have it as Croatia. If either of them can get a win over Croatia, they'll advance as the second place side and that's entirely possible for either one. I break that group down as a clear first place team, a 2 1/2 place team (Croatia is a weak 2 or a strong 3) and two 3rd place teams that can't both get 3rd and suffer from being in each other's group

How many full rotations Pepe will have in his dives: 3

Biggest Disappointment (Player): Bale (just because Wales are so thin outside of him)

does she care much for soccer?

Yes, but mostly to complain how bad they are. She's from Gent, so a longtime AA Gent supporter. So was fun to see them winning their first championship a season ago :)

lucky you, i cant ever cheer for my gf's team. She doesn't really follow a team but she likes to say she likes Spain, just because i hate them so much, so naturally she tries to like them ;)

Yeah, luckily for me I didn't really had a favourite team in Belgium yet. Would have been weird if I supported the team she hated most :) So was happy to celebrate it with her. Shame this season was a bit worse, but we atleast got to see them advanced in the Champions League after the group stage.

Golden Boat Winner: anyone from Iceland. Those Vikings are excellent sailors.

Top Player: Payet

Top Young Star: Renato Sanches

Biggest Surprise Team (who took leaps and bounds): Albania

Biggest Disappointment (Team): Belgium. And England but that doesn't count any more.

Player to Retire from International Duty following the event: Carvalho. Also that Hungarian keeper.

Team to allow first own goal: England.

How many full rotations Pepe will have in his dives: The equivalent of the fans he pisses off in the process.

Biggest Disappointment (Player): Lukaku

Golden Boot Winner: Lewandowski (Think it'll be a tie, but think Lewandowski would win on fewer games played.)

Top Player: Pogba

Top Young Star: Dele Alli

Biggest Surprise Team (who took leaps and bounds): Iceland

Biggest Disappointment (Team): Belgium

Player to Retire from International Duty following the event: Petr Cech

Team to allow first own goal: France

How many full rotations Pepe will have in his dives: 4 1/2 with pike

Biggest Disappointment (Player): Ronaldo
