As draft day quickly approaches, prospects from around the world make their way to the VHLM Dispersal Draft headquarters

VHLM Draft Predictions

SASKATOON, CN - The confetti cleared from the ice seemingly transported itself outside to the streets of Saskatoon when the hometown Wild won the S51 Founder's Cup over the now-defunct Moscow Red Wolves. Literally sending a team packing is fun to do for a lot of these rookies, but now the management has to turn their attention to the new class of skaters from every corner of hockey fandom and rank them in terms of fit, skill, and personality. With the league now down to 7 teams, every VHLM franchise has more chances to take the next Conrad Jenkins to score the game winning goal for them in the playoffs. So, which teams need what? Which personality flaws will drop some players, while others flourish?

Before we tackle the field, let's see the updated list of prospects and which agent is representing them:

Right-Wing (2)

Brock Dragonslayer, TPE: 87 - @Advantage

Defensemen (9)

Aksel Syndergaard, TPE: 56 - @754

Trazon Apansson, TPE: 30 - @Trazan

Xander Finn, TPE: 97 - @Jericho

Goalies (4)

Jacob, TPE: 30 - @Higgins

mist4ke, TPE: 30 - @Streetlight

M.T. Power, TPE: 171 - @Mr. Power
Rubber Band, TPE: 70 - @President Donald Trump

Clearly, there are some standouts. That will be easily reflected in the mock draft. Before we get to that, here are the team needs for each of the 7 remaining teams.

Bern Royals Needs: Center, Goalie

There seems to be an abundance of wingers on this rather unusually deep Royals team. This leaves them with a powerhouse top defender and more wingers than center. It would help to also have a real backstop between the pipes. This help down the middle and in net would make the Royals complete.

Brampton Blades Needs: Defense, Goalie

Less depth doesn't necessarily mean a lesser team, but Brampton needs to pick things up on all ends. With no defense and no netminder, the Blades are relying on their top line trio. This draft needs to add depth to all posts and provide solid starting "backcourt" defense.

Bratislavia Watchmen Needs: Winger, Defense

Top talent dominates the Watchmen starting line. This also means there needs to be more depth, mainly at the winger slot, where there's only one viable vet player amongst the trio there already. The team also needs a compliment for the top defensive pairing, and filling both needs makes Bratislavia hard to beat.

Oslo Storm Needs: Defense, Winger

Arguably goalie could be on this list, but there are more immediate needs. Zero defense means there needs to be dominant forwards to cover the goalie, and Oslo has neither. With high picks, the Storm need big defensive players and decent depth at any forward position, but mainly the wings.

Ottawa Lynx Needs: Best Player Available, Goalie

Really, the Lynx need the most out of the teams covered so far. With only 2 forwards left to pass to each other, the Lynx need everything. Most important is defense to provide a safety net for a late pick goaltender, or vice versa. A late pick can be used to fill forward depth, but honestly, anything at any pick helps.

Saskatoon Wild Needs: Center, Goalie

The most stacked of the teams and defending champs, the Wild need to prepare for an eventual exit of their VHL prospects. Until then, there needs to be more than one center winning draws to get the puck in the offensive end, and even with solid defense, someone needs to be in net to stop the occasional shot.

Yukon Rush Needs: Defense, Center

Older players doesn't guarantee better players, and the Rush have some of the same players on their last legs in the VHLM. Yukon needs defense, and they need it bad. With younger wingers and a young goalie available, the Rush need to prepare for the graduation of their lone center. Fill these holes and the Rush can still be non-basement.

Any player that is recalled to the VHL during the season must have less than 200 TPE to be sent back down to the VHLM again

Does that includes draft too?

I'm not sure I understand your question

In other words, I don't think send-downs can earn 200 TPE without banking 25. STZ didn't bank anything.

That's odd. The VHLM APE cap is 175, so that extra 13 should have never been added in the first place.....

That may have had something to do with his updater not fully understanding the rules either. However had more than 175 until after the playoff update anyway, so it was never added to the sim file.
