Sucks T.J. Ward didn't resign, I saw him as a big part of the Browns turnaround.

Not surprising that my team doesn't do anything, we don't build that way.

No one wants to live in that shit hole anyways

It does stink to see Ward leave Cleveland, but they more or less swapped talent when they picked up Whitner.

I was interested to see the Raiders making actually progress with their roster today, signing two linemen to help the dynamic but oft-injured DMF.  He's been fun to watch but man, the guys around him have been nothing short of pathetic.

Also, lol @ Falcons going over the top.

When will Daniel Snyder make his first unnecessary purchase for underwhelming talent?

Ugh, this year is going to be brutal for Dallas. Losing Ware sucks, but if they don't bring Jason Hatcher back, they'll have absolutely nothing up front besides George Selvie.

Have you ever been?  Northern Wisconsin is like an extension of Minnesota, which is an extension of the Dakotas.

I am aware it is not the crown jewel of the States. Tony Stark (aka Brad) will come on and disagree though

Byrd went to Saints for around 9.33 per season reports from media and interview from Bills directly that they were at least offering that much already.  Turns out Byrd just didn't want to play for Bills after all I don't have a problem with that but lying about it makes me upset.

can someone explain me why NFL team tend more to release a player instead of trading him ? Like, why don't you try to get something in return for your player ?

Because trading in the NFL is extremely rare. More times or not bonus' and contracts are structured strangely and it just becomes a mess. Also, more times or not if you are releasing a guy he isn't worth much anyways. Ex. Releasing J.J.Arrington (so much promise as a 2000 yard NCAA back but didn't cut it in the NFL)

If richards seymour was traded for a first round pick, why cannot demarcus ware ?

Because up until the point he becomes a UFA, they are most likely negotiating with him or up until free agency they are trying to rework a deal. There might not be any trade market for him either

With Ware, it had to do with the structure of his contract. If the Cowboys traded him, they likely would have had to eat most of his signing bonus, which was at least $10 million this year IIRC. Through cutting him, they didn't have to pay as much guaranteed money.

In the NHL and certain other sports baseball comes to mind you draft players with a larger development window.  As early as 16/17/18 or whatever the case may be.  It is rare that you draft someone in that sport and then they instantly become an All Star in their rookie season tearing up the league.

In the NFL players come in usually around 22 essentially developed physically and just need to mentally adjust to a specific scheme.  You get an impact player for a million dollars or less instead of paying 9 million for possibly the same production while trying to stay under the salary cap.  There have been plenty of 7th round or even undrafted players in the NFL that have gone on to good careers but get paid virtually nothing till the end of their first contract.

When you trade a player due to the contract stipulations you might end up giving them money for years after you trade them anyway and most players that would be on the trade block are also near the end of their contract.  No team wants to bring them in unless they agree to a new contract before the deal is done.  Usually its just easier for everyone to just cut the losses and take the smaller cap hit and be done with it.
