Or was this expected? 2- How would you describe the Mexico City Locker room at this point of the season? Any internal Rivalries? 3- Historically both San Diego and Houston have been a thorn in Mexico City side. With San Diego just 4 points back of Mexico City, How does the team plan on holding them off in the standings? 4- Mexico City is currently 7-1-2 . They have not been blow-out in anytime and have only blown out 1 team in a 6-0 win. Do you think this is directly related to the drafting Cole did( drafting so many Defensemen) or is this just an adjustment period before the offence starts to blow teams out? 5- two of the returning platers lead the team in scoring. Justin Williams has 15 points while WJC gold medal winner Heffelfinger has 13. Will they continue to lead the team all season or will we see someone else take the lead? 6- How was Easter? Did the team do anything as a group or did everyone keep to themselves? 1. The Kings did great last year but they did lose some pieces in between the seasons, but I always had a feeling that we would continue to succeed. 2. It's a fun atmosphere, I'm new but the place is very inviting, Ross' energy is always a welcome. 3. If we keep playing how we have been I don't see them being a big issue, changing our game plan for a specific team could throw us off. 4. Cole's drafting was very smart on his part but I feel it's more of an all around effort, but the defence of course is a bigger part of this team. 5. Willy and Hef have been fantastic so I'm not sure if anyone could catch them, of course everyone is very strong but they just play such a well rounded game that it might take til the end of the season to see them overthrown. 6. I personally kept to myself but I'm sure some of the others did stuff with each other, but my Easter was very relaxed. I think we've had a good first half of the season, maybe a game here or there we should've won but sometimes that's how it shakes out 2. He's doing pretty well, I wish he could get some more goals and assists but for my first full season I think its a good start. 3. I think its just a temporary set back. Teams have figured out their playstyle and starters so now it becomes a bit tougher but nothing we cant handle. 4. I mean sure he has to be doing a good job considering he drafted me. 5. Yeah I was fortunate to get picked for the All-star team and im happy I was skilled enough for them to choose me. 6. Sadly as a Preds fan the Playoffs are just a sad reminder for me. We gotta capitalize more on our chances and beat the top teams more frequently. 2. Really well top 3 goalie in the league and pushing for first is definitely where I want to be. 3. temporary fs we got this. 4. @badcolethetitan is a terrible gm anything under 1st place is a failure, He should resign and hand me the job. But in all seriousness, he's done a really good job of building us up to be a contender and I'm sure he'll have a shot at the Jack Reilly this season. 5. Yessir. It's pretty cool but definitely expected, 4 goalies make it and there are only 10 teams so as a capped goalie with our roster it would be pretty bad if I didn't make it 6. Do you think this is directly related to the drafting Cole did( drafting so many Defensemen) or is this just an adjustment period before the offence starts to blow teams out? - Of course it has to be due to Cole drafting D men, We talked in pre draft and I told him Mexico was my only choice 5- two of the returning platers lead the team in scoring. Jayhawk 93
1- First off, Congrats on a great week to the entire Mexico City team. 10 game winning streak is no easy feat in this league and quite an accomplishment. To what do you attribute this amazing run? 2- At the start of the season, everyone expected the Kings to be more of a defensive team, all the attention on Defense at the draft made everyone think Mexico would be in a lot of lower-scoring games. Yet the Kings lead the league in goals for, What are your thoughts on this? 3- There is a battle at the top of Mexico's Conference. San Diego seems to be ( and has always been ) the team to give Mexico a hard time. Would you consider them a direct Rival to the Kings? Or is there another team ( Maybe Miami, Las Vegas, or Houston) that you consider a bigger rival? 4- It's Retro week here in VHL as a whole. But we want to know on a personal level ( PLAYER LEVEL ) who would you consider to be your rival? Are they on your team or playing somewhere else? 5- Don't look now but we are approaching the 40-game mark! That can only mean one thing, TRADE-DEADLINE!!!!! Are you expecting GM Cole to make some moves? If so what moves are you wanting? If not, what? 6- It's also that time of the week for the non-SHL life. question. LA Kings ( the "not better than Mexico" kings)put up an amazing fight against Edmonton, keeping the best current player more or less contained. However, they now sit on the brink of elimination. Do you think they can come back and take the series? or is it done for those Kings? ( you know, The ones who are in the Shadow of the Mexico City Kings?) They have been great so far hopefully they can go all the way vincentlg2007 and badcolethetitan 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/61685-mexico-city-kings-press-conference/page/40/#findComment-982580 Share on other sites
Deluca 36
Mexico City is a new team and city for some of you, and for others it’s your second season. How does it feel to either be here for the first time or coming back for a second? It feels amazing to be back in Mexico City, Told many of the other VHLM Gms that Mexico was my preferred spot What are your goals for this season? my Goals this season were to hit new career highs in every statistic and most importantly win the cup with Mexico, This team has given me a shot and I want to repay that The offseason has brought in new management. How does this change make you feel for the future of Mexico City? We brought in a new AGM but still we have the legend Cole who truly is the VHLM GOAT If you had to pick a training partner for this season, who out of your new teammates would it be? Out of the new players? Probably our backup Andrei Vasilevskiy, With a name like that he's got to be set for greatness What’s your favorite animal? - Whales If you had to be drafted, or redrafted today, which VHL team would you want to be drafted by? (This is a great opportunity to look into the VHL teams.) Redrafted?????? No way Id pick anyone but London and Mexico, Two best teams around Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/61685-mexico-city-kings-press-conference/page/40/#findComment-982600 Share on other sites
Jayhawk 93
1- Games left in the regular season. The playoff hunt is over as Mexico has a playoff spot locked. However, the fight for playoff seed is in full effect as Mexico City and San Diego battle it out for 1st in the conference. A simple 1 point separates the 2. Should Mexico finish 2nd, they will have to face Houston, a team that has given Cole and the Kings a hard time for the last few seasons. How confident are you that Mexico can Beat Houston in a seven-game series? 2- During the last 8 games of the season, Mexico plays San Diego twice and Houston twice. With half the resining Games having Playoff implications, What is the most comfortable outcome for Mexico? 3- Mexico City has the best Powerplay in the league, running at 25%. They also have the 3rd best Penalty Kill behind San Diego and Mississauga, two teams ahead of them in the overall standings. Which do you think is more important Powerplay or penalty kill and why? 4- Justin Williams is now 4 points back of league leader Tullemore drew for the most points. Is getting to number 1 a team mission now or is it every man for him/herself? 5- Gm Cole has achieved another 40-win Season, That’s at least 5 seasons in a row. How impressive is that feat, and should Cole go down as the greatest VHLM Gm to not win a cup ( Yet )? 6- The NHL playoffs have seen the top teams struggle and fall out of the playoffs early. Boston, Colorado, Toronto ( Almost out ). Yet teams like Seattle and Florida (who just made it in) are playing like they can go all the way. In terms of VHLM, What teams make you worry about what playoff run they can go on? In terms of VHLM, What teams make you worry about what playoff run they can go on? 1. I'm very confident we can beat anyone in a 7 game series, Houston is no different ignore the stigma and beat them up. 2. Easy win everything place 1st and beat down everyone again in the playoffs. 3. PK for sure I mean you gotta capitalize on your powerplay opportunities don't get me wrong but preventing goals should come first. 4. Obviously I'd want Williams to win but that shouldn't be a priority when the standings are so tight currently. Focus on winning the games and hopefully getting the most points comes along with it. 5. All this glazing up Cole makes me sick smh. Although that is hella impressive cool to see someone consistently at the top without tanking. 6. None, we got this. This ain't S74 we gonna win it all. vincentlg2007, badcolethetitan and Jayhawk 1 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/61685-mexico-city-kings-press-conference/page/40/#findComment-982657 Share on other sites

I got first through a tiebreaker because of my goals 5. This is the year 6.We got the best overall team and great playoff experience Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/61685-mexico-city-kings-press-conference/page/40/#findComment-982904 Share on other sites
Jayhawk 93
1- Well the Playoffs are here and the Kings have blown right through the first round. What was your take on the first round? 2- Round 2 projects to be much harder for the Kings. What’s your breakdown of this rounds opponent 3- Are you paying any attention to the other conference during these playoffs? 4- In honour of Zetterberg, is Cole going to cost the kings another title this season? 5- how has your player performed through the first round of the playoffs? Are they playing at their best or still trying to find their feet? 6- The NHL now has its final 4. Carolina be Florida. And Dallas vs Vegas. Who do you think make it to the greatest ice show on earth, The Stanley Cup finals? Who do you think make it to the greatest ice show on earth, The Stanley Cup finals? 1. Gonna be tough 3-1 rn got lucky in the second sim cause of how trash of a goalie SDM has. I'm hopeful we are just as good if not better and only need 1 to get to the finals. 2. SDM is a tough opponent gonna have to pull out all the stops. We can't let them reverse sweep 3 games, 1 win, that's all we need. 3. Of course gotta keep tabs on that fraud of a GM @vincentlg2007 to see if he gets lucky and we get to destroy the Hounds in the finals. 4. He's trying his hardest, the lines he sent in had us outshot 46-28 we got lucky that our team is a bunch of studs who don't stop fighting till the end. @badcolethetitan despite how genuinely terrible you are at your job the kings are gonna get you a founders cup!!! 5. Glagau is popping off right now. He knows it's his last chance at a founders cup and he is playing like it. 6. After Seattle got knocked out I stopped caring about it. Such a boring list of teams but if I had to guess Vegas vs Carolina and Vegas wins. vincentlg2007, badcolethetitan and Jayhawk 1 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/61685-mexico-city-kings-press-conference/page/40/#findComment-983382 Share on other sites

I also feel bad because we’ve now beat down Vegas twice in two seasons. 2. I feel like the Marlins are a really good team and we’ll have to bring our A-game. 3. Yes, it’ll be interesting to see who we play! 4. Yeah, this GM sucks. 5. Well, Yasilievich is going off right now with 13 points! 6. Florida and Dallas. It will be a banger. Jayhawk 93
1-First off, Congrats Mexico City on one hell of a run and a great season! No matter what happens, it’s been a memorable one.To what do you attribute the success of this season? 2- Championship Finals, most imagine it as a grand moment in their careers that will live on forever in their minds. Was this everything you imagined it to be? 3- I know everyone expected Mississauga to make the finals, but whoever makes it pretty much deserves to be there. What was your take on facing Philadelphia or do you think Mississauga would have been a closer final? 4-Cole has gone his whole VHLM GM career never having won a championship until now. Dispute that he has kept Mexico competitive every season he has been GM. Does a championship lock his spot in the VHLM hall of fame? 5-Looking back on this season, what is your biggest take-away? 6- To say the NHL playoffs has been underwhelming is a massive understatement. It looks like Vegas and the Panthers will more than likely meet in the Stanley Cup finals. How surprised are you by this?
