A few small moves made by GM Jason during the season, I think he moved Percy Miller because he just simply didn't want to be there. The return wasn't must just a 42 VAS 4th rounder. Johan Hallstrom though was quite the pick up. A S41 NYA 2nd rounder was the cost and I would say that was a shrewd pickup.

Season 40 Regular Season - 72 GP | 39 W | 28 L | 5 OTL | 83 P | 195 GF | 171 GA

For the 2nd straight season, the Wranglers made the playoffs although they were the lowest ranked team to make it, coming in at 83 points which was 6/6 out of the playoff teams. Thomas Landry came over in the Godavari trade as well. He was a nice pick up as he lead the team with 35 goals and 47 assists for 82 points. Johan Hallstrom totaled 74 points but 41 of these points came in 39 games with the Wranglers. Boychuk had a disappointing season by his lofty standards with 33 goals and 33 assists for 66 points. The Wranglers really spread out the scoring with every player reaching 40 points on the season. Martin Brookside had a decent season putting up a 37-24-5 record with a 0.907 save percentage and a 2.20 G.A.A to go with 9 shutouts.

Season 40 Playoffs - 12 GP | 5 W | 6 L | 1 OTL - 4-3 vs QUE, 1-4 vs NYA

Calgary once again was able to sneak into the playoffs. The reward? A date with the Quebec City Muete who were heavily favored. The Wranglers split the first two games in Quebec with the win coming off the backs of a 2 goal Godavari game. However, going back to Calgary, the Wranglers lost two straight going down 3-1, but fear not, the 3-1 curse is real. The Wranglers would rattle off 3 straight wins including a series clinching 1-0 win in OT IN game 7. It was quite the series for Godavari.

In the next series, the Wranglers would be playing the New York Americans who are 3-1 vs Calgary in the playoffs. You know how the Wranglers were underdogs in the first series? Well now they were even bigger underdogs. The Americans ended up going 2-0 at home by a combined score of 8-2. The Wranglers ended up winning Game 3 4-3 at home with 4 different players scoring goals. The Wranglers almost blew the game though going up 4-0 and let in 3 unanswered goals. Game 4 was an OT game which the Wranglers lost and I think this game might have taken the win out of the sails. Game 5 was a 3-1 Americans win.

Godavari and GIYGAS led the team in scoring with 12 points in 12 games. Thomas Landry pitched in with 11 points in 12 games as well. Brookside went 5-6-1 with a 0.925 save percentage and a 2.42 G.A.A. Overall, considering being ranked 6/6 for playoff teams, to make it to the NA Finals was quite the accomplishment. If the Wranglers win game 4 OT, it is a different series.

Trades (off-season):

To YTzfe5K.png
(S39) RW - Jarome Iginla
S43 QUE 1st (D Michael Clardy)
S41 NYA 2nd (LW Matej Nemecek)

To IhclZ49.png
(S35) D - Edwin Encarnacion's rights
(S37) C - Travis Boychuk
S41 CGY 4th (Forfeited)

Calgary Wranglers GM: Jason Glasser
Quebec City Meute GM: Clinton Chevy @Kesler

To YTzfe5K.png
(S37) C - Kez Kincaid
(S37) LW - Jakob Linholm
S43 COL 2nd (LW Kewl Runnins)

To ewqJmFW.png
(S36) RW - Godavari Yumalatopinto
Calgary Wranglers GM: Jason Glasser
Cologne Express GM: Alexander Schneider @RomanesEuntDomus

A few years of accelerating the rebuild, GM Jason decided to trade off assets. The return was not that good in hindsight, Boychuk and rights to EE for Jarome Iginla and a S43 1st which wasn't that bad tbh. The 1st turned into a good player. The trade for Gadavari though? Was he retiring? Was he not active because Kez Kincaid, Linholm and a COL 2nd for Godavari? Seems a bit short.

Overall:

Travis Boychuk breaks into the top 11 in team scoring with 260 points in 216 games @DollarAndADream, this would be his last season in Calgary though as he was traded to Quebec in the off-season. GIYGAS moves to 13th in scoring with 237 points in 267 games @.sniffuM. Godavari in his 2nd go around in Calgary is breaks the 100 point mark. Tony Stark and Edwin Encarnacion also break the 100 point mark @Tagger. Rookie Lukas Nyqvist puts up a solid 45 points in his rookie season @Motzaburger. Brookside climbs to 3rd in wins with 97, he is also the 2nd goalie since S20 to break 100 losses. @diamond_ace

GIYGAS moves up to 4th in playoff scoring with 47 points in 52 games. No one else really is close surprisingly with Godavari up next with 12 points in 12 games. Brookside is tied for 4th with 7 playoffs wins. He also has the most losses in playoff history for the Wranglers with 8. His 0.922 save percentage isn't bad at all but is 5th.

I did recall Godavari not doing that much earning after being traded to us. Looking back at his posts seems to confirm that, he didn't earn any TPE in the last month or so with the team.
