If it was the best new member/top new contributor, it wouldn't really be a popularity contest. For example, it would be hard to vote for anyone other than Draper this season, a new member who applied for every single job and has been invested in the league the whole time. I don't think it should be top member in general, or anything like that because yeah, it would be a popularity thing. I was thinking more something to reward the newest members/draftees. Victory Hockey Network I have the same issues as Advantage - will people actually go out of their way to go to the website when everything else is involved on the forums. BUT, a thought I had was that the VHL could use the nifty little mini announcement thing that it now uses to give shoutouts about TPE opportunities to announce new articles. So anytime a new article is posted, it could come up on that little popup so that members actually know there is new content and to go check it out. I'd want to be directly involved in the process. diamond_ace 3,112 Posted June 5, 2014 Share Posted June 5, 2014 To be fair, when I had NO INCENTIVE TO IMPROVE THE TEAM, instead of starting all season and giving the backup only 8 games, I signed Rock Star in his last season and split the games about 2/3 to 1/3. It's difficult to give up starts for the betterment of the team and I give Chris credit for that, but it's even more difficult to give up starts simply to give another guy a chance, when it doesn't better the team. It wouldnt even be that difficult we could use wordpress and have a section for general sports coverage that people could write about NFL/NHL etc on. While I think some kind of member award would be awesome, Chris raised a lot of really good points as to why they may not be very valuable to the league. I'm torn on the mag vs dedicated website idea. I personally think the Mag is really cool. Its unique in its form and it just doesn't seem broken to me.
